Never look at a demon. Never touch a demon. And never ever let one touch you.
These are the rules I’ve been indoctrinated with since birth. I know they’re flawed, designed only for control. But breaking the rules means losing the protection of my angelic coven.
See, angels are catnip to demons. They want nothing more than to corrupt, defile, and take our magic for their own. Staying safe—pure—is my highest priority.
But when my betrothed disappears, I’m forced to leave everything and track him to the one place I was told never to go.
Blackwood University.
The place where the most filthy, most depraved, most sinful learn how to be... even worse.
I’ve got one semester to find my betrothed before my family exiles us forever.
And the only lead I have are the four worst demons of the
Pride Lust Wrath and Envy
The heads of the four university houses.
They have the answers I need
And they’re certain to smell an angel in their midst.
Jewel Killian writes spicy paranormal romance in lots of subgenres but generally sticks to the different flavors of reverse harem. Monsters, omegaverse, fae ... who knows what's coming next but you can trust it'll melt your kindle and make you wish you magic was realy.
I suppose to me angels should be likable at the very least, not be worse than demons. I just didn't find anything endearing about the heroine to make me care enough about her. Yes she's had a rough life but the way it's told lacks heart. Personally I like to be able to root for the heroine, I found I didn't care any which way.
3 stars because perhaps there is a solid plot here, I just didn't dig hard enough to get to it.
Wow! I just finished the ARC and I’m both dazzled with this book, and already hyped for the next one! I adore the nods to Jewel’s other books in this universe (definitely a squeal when I put pieces together!), and Dove is a character all her own. I was a little concerned about my connection to the main character in the beginning, but as Dove opts to evolve her viewpoints (and the spicy levels rack up 🔥) I demolished the whole book! Jewel’s warning ring true for me- this story has some “medium dark” thematics, but nothing that felt off to me. Absolutely recommend, fabulous read, now when’s the next one?! 😘
This book was red hot fun! It had plenty of spice and paranormal characters! Each character contributed a unique perspective for what it is like to attend Blackwood University and grow up as a supe.
At first, I was really nervous about Dove’s condition, but it added so much humor and banter to the story. It also added a layer of vulnerability and showed how little kindness had been extended to her by her own people and family. I love that she finds her own family in the most unlikely of places.
Last, but certainly not least, I loved the demon heirs! They fall hard and fast for Dove and enjoy her witty remarks and put downs. The heirs have their own hardships and it is interesting to see how Dove comes to relate to each of them.
I really enjoyed this book and I was not expecting that ending! I need the next book immediately!
Holey Wow! This story just blew my mind on the whole idea of Angels and Demons and left me totally flabbergasted but in such a good way! Actually the character of the lead female Dove ( love the name too) was truly so unique with her disability (only way I can explain it) that her infliction really made her character stand out. I loved and laughed at so many of her verbal outbursts and in fact found that characteristic quite enlightening to the overall plot. I'll admit the ending of this book really threw me into an emotional spin and have to wonder how things are going to pan out for them all. Chonks, the magical cat was another favourite character for me, although only a secondary entity he in his own right is quite mysterious. But all the characters are well crafted and simply add depth to the overall well devised plot. I thought it was a well balanced story with action, drama, some incredibly funny conversational comments from Dove, an air of mystery, great sexual tension and frustrations throughout, family betrayals and a cliff hanger ending that will leave you in an emotionally charged sense of frustration whilst awaiting for the next book. As a new Author for me I've been left well and truly satisfied by her reverse harem romance storytelling world and am so very eager to see how the other instalments in this series will pan out.
Tempted Angel is the first book in the Blackwood University Series. It is a why choose, paranormal romance with plenty of intrigue, suspense, action, mystery, and steam.
Dove enters Blackwood University, a school for demons, seeking to find her missing betrothed, Gael. The trail leads her to the leaders of the four University houses, Bastian, Enzo, Axe, and Dashel. The University is a very dangerous place for angels like Dove and Gael. Will they survive and make it back to each other? What will change along the way?
I loved this book, and if it is anything to go by, then this is going to be a fantastic series. The characters and storyline are awesome! I loved the relationship development too! The writing, pace, flow, storytelling, character development, and world building are amazing!
I’d definitely recommend this book and I cannot wait for more!
This book was phenomenal! I loved the other books set in the Blackwood universe so was excited to read this one and it didn’t disappoint. When Dove ends up on earth and undercover at a school of Demons looking for her soul-bonded the last thing she expects is to catch the attention of the heirs. Dove is sassy, strong and unfiltered and I love that about her, the fact she says what’s on her mind even in the most inappropriate situations had me laughing at some of her comebacks. The sexual tension between Dove and the heirs is on fire and adds to the feeling that you just can’t wait to see what happens. The cliffhanger at the end had my heart in my mouth and I can’t wait to read the next book!!
This book has left me near speechless with that ending! I neeeeeeed the next book! I just have to know how this turns out, like, now!
Dove is so much fun. I love the lack of filter she has even when she’s not being influenced by her brain! She had me rolling with some of the things she’d say.
And the GUYS. I really want to see more of Enzo! I love the psychos, and I am dying to get a detailed description of his room! Bash and Dash are both so sweet. Axe is a total alphahole, and I love it. I really cannot wait for the next book to see where these relationships are going to go. We got glimpses of Gael, but I’m looking forward to really getting to know him.
Ugh, just a wonderful book. I freaking loved the Demon Lords of Blackwood series, and I loooove how much Chonk we get! 5/5 stars!
This book was a whirlwind from start to finish ! It had me cackling out loud to wanting to throw my kindle and shed a couple tears for Dove(ah hem the cliff hanger ) I loved doves character and enjoyed the fact that she had a disability , I enjoy reading books about some fmcs that have disabilities and her men 🥵 who doesn’t love a gang of demons! Once I started this book I had an extremely hard time putting it down I ended up staying up until 3am to finish this book it has been a while since a book has captivated me like this. The story line was well paced and the spice was amazing my favorite thing was cl!!!!t d!!!!!ck (iykyk)
I can’t wait to read the next installment the cliffhanger in this book left me frothing at the mouth for more !
*I received an arc* I would also highly recommend that you check the tws
Lately I’ve been trying to read books/series that are finished to avoid this kind of thing… I really don’t like cliffs haha! Excited for the next book but sad that I have to wait months. This was my first read by this author. I thought this book was nice, the spice was excellent, there were definitely typos/errors but I was interested enough that I honestly didn’t care overly much because I needed the story too much to be hung up on them. Coming from me I think that means a lot because errors trip me up to the point that I will dnf a book for it.
I need more Enzo… his lil psycho behind needs to be featured a lot more because I am feral for him and Dash.
Many thanks to the author for this gifted copy. All opinions are my own.
Oh. My. GOODNESS!!! This was only book one but the way it had me clenching my blanket… smh… absolutely bananas!! This was one of the craziest rides I’ve been on (book wise) in a long time.
Outside of all the craziness, I really loved seeing more of Chonk and meeting the new characters. Especially Dove and her filter free brain. She had me CACKLING!! 😂😂 And then her guys… whew!
This was a very strong start to this new series and I’m ECSTATIC about where it’s going! Can’t wait to get my hands on the rest! Especially after that ending… I really didn’t see that coming.
As always, another amazing book by Jewel Killian with the expected epic ending!
I loved the whole thing. I loved Dove's character and how she gain confidence in herself and some true friends as the book continues.
I also love the whole angel/Demon idea. My favourite part of the book honestly has to be the absolute freaking SASS and lack of filter that Dove has. It makes parts of the book so freaking funny and makes her character really interesting and relatively unique compared to other characters.
As always I will now be curled in a ball in the corner and rocking back and forth until I can read the next 2 books haha.
This book quickly captured my attention and kept me captivated until the very end. I also want to mention I was in a MAJOR reading slump so I'm so grateful for the chance to read this as an ARC, thank you Jewel!
Dove is an angel who leaves her realm and attends Blackwood University, an academy full of Vampires, witches, Shifters, and demons, in order to try and find her soulmate who is missing.
As an angel she's taught to stay away from demons but what happens when the ones she needs to seek for information are powerful Demon heirs that she's also oddly drawn/attracted to?
This book was full of yummy tension and spice and as always with Jewel's books, a cast of hilarious lovable characters. Be earned with the cliffy at the end! I'm so excited for book 2!
4.5/5🌶 The spice was hot and steamy, lots of group fun. But also creative and had me laughing at one point but I loved it lmao
From the opening chapter to that cliffy of an ending, I was invested.
For the man, Gael, who she loves Dove will do anything and that includes being a “demon “ to find him. Angels and demons oh my! Runs into the Heirs while at Blackwood and things go sideways because she’s supposed to hate their kind. Not easy with those four.
That ending was epic. Need the next book now.
Dove - love her. That no filter just made her more endearing.
The Heirs - Enzo, Axe, Bastien, and Dash - oh so much alpha male hotness with them.
I read this in a single setting, because I just could not put it down! I had a lot of fun with this read. Also, make sure to check your trigger warnings!
I really enjoyed Dove as the FMC. Her no filter, no matter the situation, really endeared me to. And the heirs! I need so much more of them!
I think that this was a solid beginning to what's going to be one heck of a series and I can't wait for more... because this does end on a cliffhanger.
I was lucky enough to be an ARC reader for this and this is my honest review.
I guess I wasn't paying that much attention when I grabbed this one to read. For some reason, I missed that this was a RH romance. Don't get me wrong, the more the merrier, but i was like, "Wait... did I miss something???" LOL. It was totally HOT, but, ummm...cl!t d!ck was a first for me, and the jury is still out on that one. LOL. I was really wondering how it was all going to work its way out. That cliffhanger ending, though... I totally did not see that coming. I can not wait to see what happens next. Hurry book 2, I'm waiting for you!
Filled with tons of spice, intrigue, suspense, action, mystery, and steam. Tempted Angel is the first book in the Blackwood University Series. Dove enters Blackwood University, a school for demons, seeking to find her missing betrothed, Gael. There she meets the leaders of the four University houses, Bastian, Enzo, Axe, and Dashel. The sexual tension between Dove and the heirs is on fire and adds to the feeling that you just can’t wait to see what happens. This book however does leave you with a cliffhanger, and I can’t wait to read what happens next.
Angels and Demons? Sign me up. Dove is an Angel going undercover to find Gael, her soul bond. She meets up with four demons who challenge her at every turn. I loved the development in both the characters and the storyline. I couldn't predict what happened and I loved that. The story has tension and spice that's delicious. I can't wait to see what happens next. This was a great start to Blackwood University.
This was amazing. I was caught up in the story from the beginning to the end. I was on edge for a majority of the book. There was just no trust with the guys and you just knew they were going to destroy Dove and her future. Jewel Killian did a phenomenal job of making this reader believe everything Malachi said. The mystery behind who the guys and their stories really kept me drawn in as well. This was a great read and perhaps a new favorite from this author.
Temoted Angel is book one of a new series set at Blackwood University. It is a PNR RH/Why choose. Our fmc Dove is an angel on a mission to find the missing Gael. Her search leads her to Blackwood.... a dangerous place full of demons. She meets Enzo, Bastian, Axe and Dashel while there. There is a cliffhanger so be prepared! There is spice and a great plot! I can't wait to see what happens next! Will Dove find Gael? What will this mean with the heirs?? I need to know!
This book is a great intro to a new series. I liked the build up of the plot and the little things that clicked the more you read. I really feel bad for Dove, because life likes to kick her when she’s down and just when you think it gets better, BAM! Another kick. I absolutely need the next book to find out what happens next. And to see how the one in the naughty corner gets out of the naughty corner -if they ever do.
Came across this book purely by accident on a rec from another author. Thought sounded ok give it a try. Wow, great take on the demon/ angel books. Great character building, making you feel for the characters. Was hard to put down, finished in 24 hours... only issue is next book is a couple months away from release!! Can't wait! Highly recommend
I have been in the worst book slump, but after finding this book today, I read it in one go. I guess I messed up because I was supposed to read the series before this, but now that's exactly what I'm going to do. I have been hooked from the start and can't wait until the second book comes out. This is the first book I read from this author, and it definitely won't be the last. Definitely recommend Definitely five stars from me
Angels/demons, why choose and university setting. This book captured my attention within the first chapter! There was drama, suspense, spice and brought out lots of feels. I loved Dove. Enzo, Dashel, Axel and Bastian were the guys she meets. I can't wait to learn more about them all.
I think was a great beginning to the series and I can't wait to see what happens next!!
I finished this book in a day because I couldn’t put it down. And this book was good from beginning to end and all I gotta say WTF 😳. That last chapter got me everything was going great. I don’t know if this character is going to be redeemable. And if so then MANNNNNN he is going to have to grovel sooooooo hard and for soooo long. I need the next soon cause idk if I can wait long

This was an amazing start to a new series, the characters were just so compelling and the story was absorbing. I loved how the relationships developed, it took Dove a while to warm to the Demons but, once they earned her trust, she fell for the wholeheartedly. But that last chapter, well, that ripped my heart out and left me in tears! So need to read the next one as soon as it comes out!
Dove had me from the first chapter! Her special ability to not filter anything coming out of her mouth gives me life! The guys…. I don’t know. Some of them really won me over but two reaaaally did not. I’m not sure where my head is at after that cliffhanger too! I’m trying to puzzle it out but I highly doubt I have all the pieces to solve it. Chonk is back tho!!! Love Chonk!!
This is an incredible introduction to the Blackwood University series. It is a paranormal, whychoose romance with no shortage of steam, mystery, intrigue and suspense. I love Dove, she is sassy, fierce and doesn't have a filter. The tension and chemistry is amazing betwen Dove and the Heirs. I was hooked and that ending left me hanging and wanting more!
Starting off, this is darker than Jewels usual books. So read the trigger warning if you’re easily triggered. Dove is an snarky, take no shit give no fucks FMC and I love her for it. The MMCs will ruin you; you hate them, like them, despise them, and love them all at the same time. This was a fantastic start to the series and I can’t wait for the rest.
The book had a good premise, but she messed up the book by having her rely so heavily on her "condition". I didn't like that she couldn't just be a witty character. Why does she need to have something wrong with her to be able to have a witty interaction with the love interest or anyone? It ruined the book for me 😐
Angel with abused past heads to an Academy filled with demons under disguise to try and track down her aided mate. End up meeting demons who she can’t fight her attraction to while also escaping her past. I am so angry with how this book ended because it was a huge cliffhanger and had me screaming in anger.
