Enrico Marchetti.
Ahora solo me quedaba luchar. Aunque muriera en el intento.

3,5. This book explains more about the mafia world, it’s great and I want more… and the other way in this story I think the relationship between the characters is too much to handle ( a lot of sex scenes), don’t get me wrong, I like but in some times it’s out of the place here. It’s worth the reading.
Thorns of death ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wow what an incredible book. I absolutely loved the relationship with enrico and Isla. The way they came together but then he had to fight to keep her was amazing. She definitely didn’t make it easy on him but it only made it all the more entertaining to read. The secrets that come out in this book were incredible and I love the way Eva Winners links her books to previous ones. You had multiple characters from her other series come into this book and it was like having them back in your world all over again. I will forever rave about these books.
This book follows the previous books in the Thorns of omertà series. It’s islas story and how she meets a mysterious, enrico at her friends fashion show and after a spontaneous night together finds her self crossing paths with him on multiple occasions. Turns out their lives are linked in ways neither of them saw coming. And Isla finds out about her heritage and truth behind her family. It’s an absolute world wind and incredible page turner. The more you find out the more you want to know. They’re love story was just swoon worth and heartbreaking at the same time.
Then you meet the elusive Enrico. A single father to two young boys and a mafia don. He was never looking for love and never wanted it but that didn’t stop him from chasing after it once he met Isla. The love he holds for her could burn a thousand fires. Honestly this man has my standards soaring even higher than before. However, after secrets that have been buried for so long come rushing to the surface will it be enough for him to keep Isla. When she realises the connection he has to her family will she ever be able to look at him the same way again? Will Isla finally be the one to bring Enrico to his knees for good?
Read to follow their story and find out what happens next for this series. This book was incredible and had me never wanting to finish it cause I just didn’t want it to end. I would highly recommend giving this a read. If you do decide to read it please check trigger and content warning as, like all I’ve Eva Winners books, this has some dark scenes as well as explicit sexual scenes through out. But happy reading😏
enrico (43) and isla (23) met in a party and they hooked up afterwards. but isla woke up in front of a woman who's glaring daggers at her and she showed a wedding picture of her and enrico. thinking that enrico is a cheating scumbag, isla took off and and didn't contact him again.
but enrico was intrigued by isla and he wanted a repeat of what they did. i'm not a fan of him at first because he only wanted isla to be his mistress (don't worry he's not a cheating asshole, mistress in a sense not a girlfriend but i think more of a fuck buddy), someone he won't marry but will be kept for a long time.
isla tried to fight her attraction but then again the body betraying syndrome always win and she always gives in. so they ended up sleeping together at the end.
as the story goes he becomes besotted with isla and he wanted everything from her. he then decides to marry her seeing as this is how he can keep her for a very long time. also to forge some strong connections, by this time too, he found out that she's a mafia and cartel princess.
but isla didn't want to get married to him. so he ended up threatening her that he'll hurt his brother and friends if she didn't agree to the marriage. eventually thinking that he'll keep his threat, isla agreed to marry enrico.
there were so many twists and revelations in this book that i didn't see coming. it was actually satisfying and entertaining to read. there are a lot of side characters and sometimes, it was a bit confusing to follow who's who.
story wise it was good and i enjoyed it. but i can't buy isla and enrico's relationship, it was lust driven and superficial imo. when they're together they go at it like bunnies and they didn't have a lot of real conversations before they got married. he was all about keeping secrets and that he can only disclose them when they officially tie the knot. but even after their wedding he still held back information and answers from isla. which frustrates the crap out of me.
then all of sudden they realized they're in love with one another and all i felt was meh. like are they even sure it was love? tbh, from the outside looking in it was all about their physical connection. that's why for the life of me i can't root for them. their steamy scenes were hot and the sexual tension is there, but there is missing in their so called relationship and i don't know what it is.
another reason that this didn't work out for me is the constant reminder that enrico has been with so many women. it has to be mentioned in some chapters whenever he's looking at isla. how no one made him feel like that way she do or how he didn't consider marriage until her. i mean dude, i get it you're old and you had your fun but seriously i don't need that freaking reminder.
thank god isla isn't a virgin but it still sucked because she only had one lousy ex who didn't know where to put his dick. so it still ended up with enrico making her experience things sexually she never felt before.
overall, this is still good just didn't work for me. and there are a lot of unanswered things but i think they will be addressed in the upcoming books in this series.
ps. seriously i really want to know who'll kill that witch sofia volkov, she's like a cockroach who won't die.

Tbh I nearly gave up on this. The heroine has had 1 previous relationship where they had sex and it wasn’t good for her. We are told multiple times before even a third of the way through the book that women don't refuse the Hero, he's not used to being told no, he's intrigued because she walked away after the ONS. Yawn.... There are lots of related issues going on with side characters or people mentioned but I had no clue what was going on with them, it can be interesting to do a catch-up or interest your reader in other books but it can be distracting if it's not done right.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.
Huge spoilers below # # # # The world believes the Hero is a widower with 2 sons. The heroine is threatened by his wife, so she believes he is a cheater. The woman is his sister-in-law, she's mentally unstable, he had to assume his brothers identity when he died for reasons of safety. So he's not married and the woman isn't his wife.

Sensual and sexual tension between Enrico and Isla is on top notch from start to finish, their neverending banter, the way he has to fight her stubbornness just adding up the spice to the mix. From the moment their paths crossed, with the instant pull and undeniable chemistry, they were inevitable. Their age gap, forced marriage and taboo aspect only made it more inviting and deliciously addictive. Sassy, feisty and caring Isla had no chance to deny in the end all alpha, controlling, possessive, relentless, overprotective Enrico. Their relationship is veiled in secrets they kept from each other, from others, and those that others kept from them - and need to find all answers dominant. Isla as stepmother for Enrico’s two sons, their interactions, trust and closeness, protectiveness, is only adding up that special touch to complete the picture. In each Ms Winners series I’ve easily found a favourite character. With Thorns of Death I just got The One in Omerta series. It will be hard to throw Enrico from the top…
Isla’s a good girl who throws caution to the wind when she meets the most handsome stranger she’s ever seen. She’s never been a one-night-stand kind of girl, but she’ll make an exception for Enrico. Good thing she did, since it turned out to be the most amazing night of her life. The man is physical perfection and completely irresistible in every way, with his dark good looks and filthy mouth. Their night together is hot and dirty and absolutely perfect, until she wakes to find Enrico’s wife berating her. Isla is livid that he’s a cheater, so she wants nothing to do with him, but things aren’t always what they seem. He’s forced to hide the truth for the safety of his sons, which means he can’t tell Isla the truth. At least not yet.
Enrico can’t stop thinking about the fiery redhead who graced his bed so he’s determined to learn everything he can about this woman. She floated through his life like a mirage and disappeared without explanation in the morning, but he’s not ready to give up. He finds Isla, but there’s not a lot of information out there on her, so he knows something is off. Isla has no idea yet that her beloved brother is the Pakhan, but Enrico quickly figures it out and comes up with a plan. He wants to marry Isla, cementing the bond between his family and the Konstantins.
She really doesn’t appreciate being the other woman so she isn’t on board with this idea but he blackmails her into marriage. Isla isn’t thrilled but reasons that the marriage can’t be legal since he already has a wife, so this “marriage” is just temporary, or so she thinks. These two are fire! I really love these characters completely – her fierce independence and stiff spine, his romantic heart and soft spots. There’s so much to love and they’re perfect for one another. Their chemistry is off the charts, and they mesh perfectly, but just being with him is a risk since his family is cursed. The story is intense and suspenseful but packs a lot of heat and heart.
“Oh what a tangled web …” you know the rest, right?
While I was reading this journey those words kept popping in my head incessantly because #secrets were running amok all up in this story! The suspense factor to Isla & Enrico’s journey, while sometimes a bit predictable, was completely captivating. The mix of twists at every corner and air of mystery to this entire journey was folded very well with the romance journey for these two. They were fire with their banter and fire with their sexual chemistry! The best of both worlds, imo. I love when both MCs are strong characters that can hold their own in these types of stories!
I’m not going to go into any more detail about the journey because it’s full of unexpected and sometimes expected moments I think future readers need to experience without prejudice. Sometimes, reviews are too detailed, and this is the kind of story one should go into with a blank slate. Eva Winners has fast become one of my go-to authors in the last couple of years and I can’t wait to read where she takes this series next!
I LOVE EVA'S BOOKS! ESPECIALLY THIS ONE! It has everything I love in great dark/mafia romance, an amazing heroine, an OTT hero who is a single dad, an age gap, and spicy scenes ♥
Wow,some secrets unraveled, and it was explosive ! Enrico's and Isla's book. Part of Mafia series 20 year age gap betweenH/h I loved this couple and their road to HEA.
After some extensive review snooping 🕵️♀️ my conclusion (🧐 lol) is that the two sons he mentions are his, biologically, and I'm not in the mood for a romance where the hero already has children with OW.
However, unless confirmed by someone who's read the book, there's a chance they could his nephews that he's raising as his own (so, ig my detective award won't be coming in the mail any time soon 🔎🏆📬❤️🩹) ・ ・ ・ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🕮⋆˚࿔✎𓂃 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐬 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
I honestly love everything he writes, how he connects all the characters he creates. I loved this book. Starting with Isla, she is free, intrepid and very fun to read but what I like the most is the love she has for her loved ones, she would do everything for them. Enrico was obsessed with her from the first time they were together, and I LOVE obsessed men. The plot twists in this book were awesome and something I never saw coming. Your children are so amazing and wonderful and I know if they have a book I will go straight to read it. As with everything she writes. Eva Winners is an author that I see publish a new book and I go straight to read it. It is one of my favourites.
‘A truly thorny affair. Eva Winners showcases here why she is the undisputed Queen of sinfully dark, mafia romance. Enrico Marchetti reigns a THE leading Eva Winners book boyfriend! - The British Bibliophile
Thank you to Eva Winners for sending me an ebook Advanced Readers Copy for me to read and leave an honest review as part of her ARC/Promo team
What better place to be than in the comforting arms—and bed—of another Eva Winners book boyfriend? I, personally, can’t think of said other better place because it’s right here with the third and next instalment in her Thorns of Omertà novel, Thorns of Death . If you’ve not been a fan of calling a book boyfriend ‘Daddy’ before, this is THE read that will convince you to do so. I can speak from literary experience with this. My imagination is already running wild as to how this would go down via audiobook….oh my!
For those of you who’ve follower Eva with her Belles & Mobsters series + books one and two of this series, you might be already familiar with the powerful, untouchable and corrupt Enrico Marchetti. He’s made the occasional appearance here and there in past novels, but this is now officially his time and his proving ground to show exactly why he is the powerful Italian stallion all have heard and know him to be.
With him as his prize his eyes are set firmly on, is Isla Evans. Though the two as it seems on the surface run in similar circles—unbeknown to each other—their budding romance starts off in the city of love itself. Paris. What better way to bring two strangers together than this serene, celestial, awe-inspiring city that’s perfect for an ambush, stalking and all best laid plans to go awry? Let’s just hope Isla’s ‘Roman God’ of a man can handle himself—and his woman—on playing grounds outside of his own turf. Only time will tell.
Soon, the two of them venture down the same road of fate, it seems. After running into the enticing Enrico again after their first meeting encounter, there was no getting away from him and Isla finds herself firmly under his spell and possession both. Not a bad spot to be when everyone is out to get you both for one reason or another. I certainly wouldn’t mind hunkering down with Enrico, mobster or not. After all, this man doesn’t ask, he takes. What woman, fictional or not, could resist his charms?
Like any rose, it has its thorns. And the thorns that grew and had woven themselves around Isla and Enrico became deadlier and deadlier. One wrong move, and they would be dicing with death (more so than they did on a daily basis, anyway). Secrets which remained buried or attempted to be buried soon come to the fore and this only puts their chances—as well as chances in the personal, romantic sense—at an all time low chance of survival. What affects one, affects all. Enrico’s secrets spill over from all corners of his life to all whom he holds dear, which is a very select group of people. His small sanctum of serenity and solace is soon in danger and when he has a person just as fiery and determined to protect him, his secrets and the ones he loves? There’s every chance the price is she for those secrets being kept.
Neither Enrico or Isla asked for this life, each other or what they face on a daily basis but now that she is here with him, in his kingdom and at his side, there’s only one thing that she and Enrico can do. Fight. Fight and hope that one or both, will make it to see another sunrise.
The four days I spent with Enrico, Isla and the gang were four of some of the best days of the year. I have my favourite Eva Winners novels in my time reading her work, and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that Thorns of Dearth is a top tier novel from a top tier lady. I’m proud to give it a top read of 2023 trophy, and to be blown away once more by an author who can’t stop knocking knockout reads out of the park.
Thorns of Death is the third book of the omertà Series, and let me tell you, this book deserved more than five stars. Omg “Enrico” is so possessive and controlling that it melts your heart and something else, too 😏 get ready for the smut holly Molly 💦💦💦 this couple is everything!
**ARC was generously provided in exchange for my honest review.**
Right off the bat, if you enjoy age-gap (20-year difference) romances, and are obsessed with the “daddy kink” trope, then I think you’ll enjoy this next book in the Thorns of Omertà series by Winners.
Although the story is written so it can be read as a standalone, I can’t urge enough to start the series from the beginning. If you’re familiar with Winner’s books, you’ll know her characters/ books interconnect with one another as they’re all set in one big mafia themed world.
This book is fast-paced and constantly progressing. But in saying that, I wished the developments were more in-depth. There were occasions where things were glossed over and ultimately left me with unanswered questions. I also felt the ratio of sexual content to actual narrative was off-balanced. There are lot of sex scenes throughout that in my opinion overtook the majority of the story. I would’ve liked to have seen character developments from both MCs, especially from Isla to really give this book dimension. Whilst this is an Adult Romance, Isla is a young heroine and it’s evident by her mentality and behaviour for the most part, so there’s a New Adult atmosphere about this romance too.
Isla and Enrico’s relationship is somewhat of a slow-burn that’ll have you anxious to see evolve from fun and flirty into something more substantial. If you don’t mind a little angst, then you’ll have no worries immersing yourself in their complex relationship.
Enrico is not at all how I imagined him prior to reading this book. I was expecting an all-out dark and deadly force to be reckoned with, but was met with a dark and delicious morally-grey gentleman. He pushes buttons and boundaries, but is ultimately charming and very protective. Dare I say, he’s one of the more reasonable… *cough* sane *cough* MMCs from this extensive mafia world.
Winners has written some amazing FMCs, but Isla is probably one of my least favourite. Her immaturity and cluelessness in certain matters made it difficult to connect with her character wholly. I did however enjoy seeing her and her solid girl gang. I love the friendships, the genuine ride-or-die mentally, and the lingering curiosity surrounding them that has me thrilled to see what’s in store for their future.
I was reading this book on bated breath. The added element of mystery had me constantly speculating. There are plot twists and eyebrow-raising developments that kept things interesting and excited for Winners’ upcoming releases. It also transports you to vivid backdrops that truly makes travelling to far-off destinations instantaneously possible.
All things nice but make no mistake, lots of spice… Isla and Enrico are one sexually combustible couple through and through. That, along with their ongoing flirtatious banter and game of cat and mouse, made for quite an entertaining story.
But please note, dark themes with sensitive subject matters are incorporated in their story that some readers may find triggering. It contains stalking, kidnapping, strong violence (torture), attempted sexual assault, mental illness, child abuse, and backstories that broaches on human trafficking and death. It’s intended for readers 18+ only.
I adore Winners’ writing. I haven’t read one I haven’t manically flailed my arms and enjoyed. Thorns Of Death is a great addition and is a nice lead-up to so many more possibilities and further expansion to this world. I can’t wait to read more books from this mafia series. Winners’ writing is consistently effortless to follow, consuming, and contains some of my favourite romance tropes. With diverse characters and an array of personalities, at least one of them will bound to intrigue you.
Enrico Marchetti has made it to the top of my mafia book boyfriend's list! He's a sexy mix of seductive, possessive, and protective, has the body of a God, knows all the dirty words in Italian to melt you into a puddle, and will burn down the world for his woman. I thought I was ready for Enrico, but he blew up my world and left me fantasizing about dark-haired men in Armani suits.
For the reader who HATES slow-burn, this book is for you! For the reader who loves a man who falls hard and quick for his woman, this book is for you! For the reader who loves a strong and sassy heroine who is unapologetic about loving her man to know his way around her body, then this book is DEFINITELY for you!
Thorns of Death takes place parallel to Thorns of Love. Although you can read this book as a standalone, I'm so glad I read the series in order. Getting to see a different POV of the events involving Isla was perfecto. I wouldn't have thought it, but Isla and Enrico actually make a very dynamic couple and I loved every minute of their story.
The steam level in this book is hotter than hot! It's through the roof. The taboo age gap makes things interesting, and I can't help but adore Isla's girlfriends and all their shenanigans. It's clear to see that this series is far from over. Author Eva Winners has outdone herself. More secrets have been revealed, some are still hidden, and I love the way the author is tying her many books into Thorns of Omerta.
Book three in the series is my absolute favorite thus far. The angst, the heartbreak, and the action kept me glued to the pages and reading into the wee hours of the morning, often finding myself waking up with my Kindle by my side; I just couldn't put it down. I'm more than ready for more from Reina and Phoenix, and can't wait to see when Sofia will finally get what's coming to her. Who will be the one to finally take her down and what havoc will she wreak before then?
If you’re looking for a hot read that will have the pages practically melting in your hands than look no further. A secret glance of a mysterious stranger watching her play has Isla wanting more. Little does she that there’s more than meets the eye with Enrico. Their chemistry is intense and starts off with a bang but a misunderstanding early on seems to end things fast. However, as the head of the Family Enrico is used to getting what he wants, and he’ll stop at nothing to get it. This book was such a surprise and not your typical mafia romance. Yes there was plenty of action, with tough alpha males and soften females but the intensity of their attraction is nothing less than fireworks. I will be honest and say that this is book three in a series and at first the large supporting cast was daunting but the author has a great was of catching you up on the intertwined stories without giving too much away. This is an age gap mafia romance and at first Isla’s naivety is a bit annoying but her fierce support of family, both by blood and those forged by friendship far surpasses that annoyance. Enrico too is also family oriented, taking that devotion to the extreme, but still is surprisingly gentle. His sons though, they might just steal the show and have me hoping for second generation stories ( fingers crossed sometime soon). Supporting characters, in general play a big role in this book, especially Isla’s friends as the story lines crisscross within the mafia arc. I highly recommend reading the story warning before reading this book as there are some dark material covered and the age-gap alpha male relationship may not be your cup of tea, but I highly suggest that you buy this book. It has the perfect blend of scorching heat, drama, action, mystery and touch of softness that balances the whole relationship between Isla and Enrico and will leaving you wanting more. This book does have a complete ending, but it does leave some drama open for the next book in the series, which hopefully comes out soon. I devoured this arc read in one sitting and can’t wait for more by this author. 5 stars.
I loved Isla & Enrico‘s story so much🥹 Tatiana‘s & Illia’s story (Book 1 & 2 in the Thorns of Omertà series) was so good but these two won me over even more!!
I was crying cause Eva just knows how to write platonic relationships. First of all the girls group!! Their bond is truly something special and I‘m a sucker for girls friendships in books! There‘s always something so pure and real about it which you can also see in this girls group🩷 They‘re all so loyal to each other and always have each others back.
"We‘d been friends for a long time now. Almost a decade. It was a gradual friendship, but was sealed in blood two years ago. Now, it‘s ride or die, baby."
Second of all Isla‘s & Ilias sibling relationship! Yes they had some obstacles along the way but when Ilias told her that she‘s a sister but also kind of a child of his cause he raised her - I was crying😭
"I did. I held you when you were born. I saw your first smile. Your first steps. Your first tooth. You are as much my child as you are my baby sister. I might not have given you life, but I raised you."
Third of all Isla‘s instant relationship to Enzo & Amadeo🥹 Like it couldn’t get more cuter than that! The way both of them instantly bonded with her and felt safe cause they never had a female bond in their lives while growing up.
And last but definitely not least the relationship between Isla & Enrico😮💨 HOLY. These two were on another level. Yes it was a little bit insta lovey but there was still some tension cause of certain things happening.🤭 I loved both of them so much and can‘t wait for more appearances of them in the next books!
"At least he‘s mine, I thought. Mine. The word slammed into me like a freight train. I realized suddenly that I had chosen Enrico and wanted to keep him as mine forever."
Also loved to see some old characters again and ofc this certain storyline in future next gen books🤭🤭 Which brings me to my excitement for the next books in this series🏃🏼♀️💨 I. CAN‘T. WAIT. for the next one to be released.
Anyway that’s all from me. Thank you Eva for the Arc!🩷
Once again I freaking love Eva Winners book and writing. When Isla and her group was introduced in Thorns of Lust I knew they were going to have a very interesting story. The freaking chemistry between Enrico and Isla was intense from the very beginning. We got Mr. Sexy Fox Enrico. He is obsessed with Isla since the minute he meets her. And when he tries to find out more about her he uncovers some truths that have been cover for a reason. Isla might have been kept away from the mafia life but her strong will and take no crap from nobody is in her blood and it shines through. Her protectiveness over the ones she loves is awesome to see thru the story as well as her will to not bend to the obstacles she will have to go thru.
Can I have more of Enrico and Isla?? I simply DEVOURED this book, the story is CAPTIVATING and the characters are to die for. As I was starting the book I didn’t think that I will love it so much that I’ll be recommending it to anyone who loves reading Mafia romance. The story consumed me and left me reeling.
It’s the first book I have read from the author and I am a FAN now. The plotting is strategic and I applaud the mystery going on and definitely going to read other books in the series too as the characters had interested me a lot. I want to know more about this world and I’ll be lucky if I get to see the existing characters in different scenarios.
This AGE GAP romance is perfect with a high level of emotions, and raw feeling after the tragedy, spicyness is overflowing making the story more exciting and goes amazingly with the plot. The chemistry is fireworks and the suspense is killing. The big revelation surprised me and I didn’t figure it out until it was presented, I was totally thinking very differently before that.
I can’t choose between both the leads, I love both of them equally, and high-five to Isla for being so sassy and confident. In any Mafia world seeing the girl so open and extroverted without any restrictions is pure joy. She is a force to reckon with and how she handles everything is wow. She is bada**.
Whereas Enrico had just blown my mind with the possessiveness and love he is showering by the end of the book. His character speaks volumes in many aspects and I would want to see his son's stories too if the author decides to write them in the future. Enzo and Amadeo are very charming and deserve their own stories. Now it’s waiting time for the next book.
I am a huge fan of this author and read all of her books. Most of them really grip me as a reader and while a few I find harder work, there are always a couple that become top re-reads. This book is definitely on my read again list. I loved the plot, I find it fascinating how it fits into the other books across the series and the authors interconnected world. As in life there are multiple storylines and threads happening all at the same time. Therefore there are moments that feel familiar, but they are seen from a different viewpoint. They also have varying depths in each book, depending on where the focus is. The cameo’s from familiar characters and characters you can’t wait to get to know better are really enjoyable. It’s always lovely to see Sasha and I’m excited to see more of Kingston and Kian. Isla is an interesting character I like her fire and her determination. She can be annoying at times but I love her interactions with Tatiana and her friends. I also love that she’s no pushover. The surprise draw in this book was Enrico. I didn’t expect to find him so hot, I also don’t usually enjoy the Daddy vibes in books but really did in this one.
Enrico Marchetti is one of the five Italian mafia kings. He's dark and dangerous. He's like a god in an expensive suit. Enrico isn't looking for love. His lifestyle is dangerous, and he believes it's cursed when a man of his stature takes a wife.
Isla Evans is young and free, living her life with her friends and going to school. She is helping her friend out by playing the violin at her fashion show. Isa becomes traced by Enrico's gorgeous face and only wants one night. One night has both Enrico and Isla thinking about having one more night when both know it's not a good idea. But Enrico always gets what he wants. Isla Evans's life, of whom her true identity has been kept from her, becomes unraveled and puts her in danger. Enrico will do whatever is necessary to protect her.
I didn't know this was part of a series, but the storyline was easy to follow, and I figured out the plot’s major players. This author is new to me, and I enjoyed her writing. This story captured the mafia world as it's filled with twists and secrets and what it means to stick by family and not to cross the family lines. I would definitely read more of the series.
"She taught me to live in the moment. Live for the now. In the sunlight. Together."
Enrico is the biggest softie of them all. He may be the hard as nails head of the Marchetti family. But his heart is something else. He lives for his sons and for his love, Isla. I loved the contrast in his devotion to Isla and the image of the feared man of the criminal underworld. I wanted to live in his world and see his interactions with his sons. Those two are going to break some hearts.
This series and the interconnected crossover stories are incredibly addictive. I am so in love with this world and all its familial and underworld complexities. Thorns of Death gives you parts of the story from Isla's perspective, filling in blanks and dropping clues to other parts of the mysteries. These men love so hard and their women are such feisty and empowered characters. Winners has a detailed and entangled way with words that keeps you hooked and breathless for the next installment in this mafia/underworld interconnected series.
Well well well, what do we have here? I sound like a creepy man going after something he shouldn’t have. Anyways, Isla a young college student ready to help support her roommate and friend in her fashion designs. Also, side note to self stop signing up with two different pr companies for the same book. Lol this is crazy.
Daddy Marcetti! Where have you been my whole life? This was yet another amazing book by Eva, and I was hooked from page one, and that plot twist!!! Holy moly!! I didn’t expect it, and my brain at 3 am didn’t expect it either, but it was such a good shock!!
I loved Enrico and Isla, they were amazing characters and I loved them together as well as separate characters! Their chemistry, their banter, their secrets (some are still not revealed, and i’m there for Reina’s story!)
The mixture or plot and spice was as usual amazing, and I just need Sofia to be taken down, but the crazy lady is growing on me as a villain, so now i’m just invested to see what she’ll do and how will they finally stop her!
Now the only reason the book has 4.5 leaves and not full 5, is because of one spicy scene, don’t get me wrong it was hot as hell, but come on some preparation would have been in order for Isla to take him! And i was hoping for more BDSM from this book 😅.
Thorns of Death by Eva Winners is the rapturous story of Enrico and Isla. He is a mafia king. She is a violinist with the symphony. He sees her one night and the meeting is electric!!! Little did they know of the strain between their families…and the storm that was brewing ahead!!
Isla is a feisty little minx!! She’s not really part of this world…so, things had to be handled carefully. Enrico is fierce, possessive, strong, and dominant….and gets what he wants.
There are so many elements, people, and events behind the scenes here…the possibilities are staggering!!! There’s deceit, death, destruction, vendettas, mayhem, insanity, and some steaminess too!!! I LOVE this author and she never ceases to amaze!!!
Daddy Marchetti is HOT! From the very first page I knew I wouldn’t be able to put this book down! It drew me in immediately. Isla spends the most incredible night of her life with Enrico, only to wake up and find him gone and a very angry woman staring at her. And from there on until the end, the dangers, action, suspense, secrets and mysteries just keep coming! I loved both Enrico and Isla’s characters, they were written perfectly. I loved Isla’s spirit, she was strong, smart and had a backbone. She wasn’t afraid to say what she thought and she didn’t cower or back down. I loved the banter between her and Manuel, and I adored how she was with Enzo and Amadeo. And those boys humor had me laughing so much. Her relationship with those boys was wonderful and special, she was exactly what they needed. She was dealt a lot, everything she knew about her life was a lie and all the truths were all of a sudden thrown at her. But in the end she came out stronger. And I loved Enrico. His loyalty and honor to his brother really spoke for the kind of man he was. I loved seeing him with Isla, his protectiveness and how he loved her and cared for her was incredible. He had so much on his plate, between threats from his past, trying to find the mole, and trying to keep his sons and Isla safe from it all, there was so much going on. And as many questions are answered by the end, some aren’t- and I’m dying for those answers! I want to know the secret between Isla, Reina, and their friends. I can’t wait for book 4!
Thorns of Death is Book 3 in the Thorns of Omertà Series. And once again, Eva Winners more than delivers.
Enrico Marchetti is a Mafia Don. Isla Evans is a mafia princess, unbeknownst to her. A chance meeting, one night, and Fate. And time hasn’t lessened the feelings or effects they have for each other.
They have secrets. His are hidden to protect those he lives and the Omertà family. She unfortunately doesn’t know all the secrets that surround her. But Enrico does. And he’ll do everything in his power to protect the woman that has drawn him in.
We have glimpses of our mafia family which I absolutely love. Their power and allegiance never falters.
And this story gives us age gap, forced marriage, and mafia, all my favorites. And Enrico with all his possessiveness and protectiveness just adds to their story. Looking forward to Book 4.
Mafia and Dark romance has always been my favorite. Especially with the age gap and daddy kink. I just loved this book! Enrico was a caveman and was possessive as hell and I am all for possessive and caveman kind of men.
I liked the way Isla was so sassy and independent in the book. I liked her personality. Her attitude. And her softness also. And the way she was with Enrico's sons. I just loved reading that part in the book. The story also had so much suspense and thrill which also made me binge read the book in a few hours. Now I am curious as hell what the Leone brothers are going to bring.
Eva,you are one of my favorite mafia authors. I just love your writing and Nico is my all time favorite book. Whenever I am bored I just read it and that's kind of a highlight of my day.
