ETA: As someone who truly believes review spaces are for readers, it was incredibly uncomfortable to open GoodReads to see that an author had commented on my post, followed almost immediately by another stranger posting practically the exact same thing.
As the author points out, I missed a quick line buried in a paragraph about her outfit.
However, I would say that this line was so easily missed just goes to my larger point that things are quickly skimmed over and characters motivations are delivered as statements rather than explored — that so much of this book was just telling.
As someone who regularly recommends Cari’s books to people looking to explore dubcon/noncon books and just happened to be bummed about the way this series has progressed, this situation is really disappointing.

Do you ever read a book, then read the reviews, and wonder if you all read the same book?
This was a 1.5-star for me. Overall, I was just disappointed in the book and the way the series trended.
Some things were either continuity errors or just poorly explained, like the fact the girl in Pheobe’s dreams had pink hair initially, then it was purple. I would chalk it up to the dreams evolving or coming more “into focus,” but this is never even alluded to.
Speaking of purple hair, at one point, Marcus says, “Is that why you dyed your hair purple?” while Phoebe says yes; this is the *only* time Pheobe’s hair change is mentioned. This feels like a pretty big choice, but we are never shown Pheobe’s motivations or really that it even happened. It’s a fleeting moment and a missed opportunity to make an otherwise flat character three-dimensional.
Much like the last book, there were plot holes and things that were just skimmed over to get us from sex scene to sex scene. There was no substance to the characters and their motivations, and the story never really developed.

When Phoebe's friend vanishes after attending a CNC kink event that she procured the invitation for Phoebe is not prepared to sit on her laurels, she wants answers. She is prepared to go to extreme lengths to get them, even if that means entering this unfamiliar but equally intriguing world herself, with her family connections Phoebe reaches out and is introduced to Razor, under an alias of course. He recognises her as someone from his fellow members and friend's past. Marcus is actually an old boyfriend from high school of Phoebe's and they have some history, they also parted on bad terms so his feelings towards Phoebe are initially very complicated.
With missing girls and suspicions of corruption within the Fraternity Phoebe Razor and Marcus procure an invitation to a mysterious island, the plan to infiltrate and investigate but once there and as events begin to escalate they all begin to wonder if they will even make it off of the island alive.
I adored this book it's my favourite out of all of the CNC Fraternity ones and I think that's more than likely the addition of a suspenseful element to the narrative, it just upped it a level the additional suspense and mystery kept me on the edge of my seat and the dread of what may come kept me turning those pages. I've liked all of the stories set in this fascinating world including this spin-off but this for me also had an added extra component that just elevated it.
This was dark and twisted Cari's signature stamp and here she managed to strike just the correct balance in terms of the kinky fuckery, the suspense and then the fact that it was also obvious that Razor and Marcus had begun to care deeply about Phoebe. It was scorching hot, extremely explicit but also managed to be sentimental and even at times surprisingly sweet. Be aware the stories within this world focus on CNC, consensual non-consent and as such anything goes and they tend to be highly explicit and voyeuristic.
There was danger and heat and for a minute there I don't mind admitting I was getting seriously worried, I'm also not ready to say goodbye to these characters and I think the family that slays together should definitely stay together and they should for sure get another adventure to further expose the bad apples in there CNC world.
Also, can I say the phone total lol moment that was for sure enterprising and actually hilarious. I adored this one and it's getting a massive seal of approval from me. I now definitely want more from Marcus Razor and Phoebe. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of Their Cruel Love.

Their Cruel Love brings us back to the CNC Fraternity and Cari Silverwood does an amazing job. Razor and Marcus are everything you would expect in members of the Frat—Razor is more of a playboy while Marcus is, well, brutal and broody. But as the story progresses, we realize that isn’t all they are. As to Phoebe, she’s everything I enjoy in a strong female lead, along with her own history. Well, hers and Marcus, which is harsh, but then there’s also her ties to the CNC. In this story, the author takes the Frat one step further by adding in a mystery—what happened to Phoebe’s friend (among other things). So, what did I think? This story is intriguing, creative, rough at times, and diabolical at other times. And the humor! Oh my. I LOVED Phoebe’s inner thoughts and snark. Then there were those twists! As I read, I felt like a voyeur watching the scenes unfold like a lookie-loo hiding behind a two-way mirror, but then again, Ms. Silverwood continuously drew me out through the complexity of her story telling. And, being completely frank here, I had to take breaks while reading this story and my trusty wand spent considerable time being recharged. Overall, this is a great addition to the CNC series (can we call it that?) but it definitely isn’t for the virtual pearl clutchers.

Two men agree to take me on and teach me how to be theirs. Theirs… It’s such a powerful word. If I say yes to all that they wish to do, Will my heart still be mine or will it be theirs? I must remember my true purpose – to find Milli or to avenge her. Even if I have to paint the walls with blood. Preferably, it won’t be my own.
Contains CNC, dubcon, bloodplay, homicidal violence, transient consideration of suicide, and one big hungry crocodile.
Who doesn’t want to read about kinky dom/sub tomfoolery on a private island? Add in a dash of murder and mystery and we have one fun afternoon of reading for me! Our FMC, Phoebe decides to seek our answers after her friend, Milli disappears during a CNC training course. She teams up with ex-boyfriend Marcus, a brooding alpha male with a history in security and Razor, a fun-loving sunshine foil to Marcus’s brooding. We delve deep into their CNC play and kinky games whilst they simultaneously try to find the answers the other island guests are trying to keep hidden.
Those who don’t enjoy graphic depictions of CNC play and masochism won’t enjoy this one, but for those of us who are a bit cooked in the head, it’s a fab read.

Phoebe, the main female lead, got her friend Milli an invitation to a private ‘bdsm’ island where your desires can be played out. It’s a club called CNC Fraternity. When Milli doesn’t return as expected, Phoebe puts in her application to go to the island herself to find her. When she arrives, Razor and Marcus are waiting for her. Apparently, she had past history with Marcus. While ‘living the bdsm life’ on the island with Razor and Marcus, Phoebe is on the lookout to see what happened to Milli. There are a lot of sexy scenes, twists and danger in the book. This is my first book by this author. Apparently, there are some other CNC Fraternity books I better go back and read because I really liked this one. I liked the characters. I liked the island of bdsm. I was drawn to the CNC Fraternity idea itself. I received an ARC copy from the author and this is my honest review.

This book was my first introduction into the CNC fraternity and let’s just say I will be reading all of the other books!
This story follows Phoebe,Marcus and Razor as they try to figure out the sinister activities that go on behind the scenes of the fraternity after Phoebe’s best friend goes missing. This book had me kicking my feet and squealing over the jokes and banter and let’s just say that it did NOT slack on the spice! The book was very fast paced at getting into the kinky aspect and taught me quite a few new things. Overall the book was fantastically written with a nice twist at the end. I can’t wait to learn more about the CNC fraternity!

This was my first ARC book and what a great one it was. It had me on the edge of my seat wanting to keep going to piece the mystery together. Razor and Marcus were both captivating characters in their own way and Phoebe was a wonderful female lead, she was funny and strong willed. There was everything you’re looking for in a dark romance book. Oh and the spice level was 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. Overall an awesome read!

Just when I thought I had the CNC fraternity figured out, Cari Silverwood throws a wrench into my thought process, making me have to rethink things through again. I'm really not complaining since this keeps me on the edge of my seat, trying to figure out the angle of this storyline. It's definitely not what I had in mind, but I totally enjoyed the ride. Phoebe found herself in the process, with Marcus being able to close a chapter of his past, and Razor...well...I guess he found that he can have the whole cake and not just settle for a slice. They all found the limits they'll go to for what they want most in this world, something that's worth fighting for. Oh, you know...kinky hot sex with the ones you love the most, LOL. Great addition to the series and one not to be missed for dark romance readers.

This is the 3rd book in the series however it can be read as a standalone. Phoebe sent her friend to a private island resort for a little fun but when she doesn’t come home, Phoebe is worried and looking for a way to get herself on the island. Phoebe’s application has been flagged and her Marcus have a past. Now Marcus and Razor have some plans for Phoebe. Will they discover the truth about Phoebe’s friend? Can they get off the island before it is too late? Fast-paced read with plenty of twists and turns, drama, suspense, and sizzling steam. I was hooked from beginning to end. I loved it.

I received this book as an ARC, and once I started reading it I could not put it down. The spice was amazing and the kinks 🥵🥵, the plot was also very good. I definitely recommend reading this book. This is the first book from this author that I have read and it won’t be the last !!

Cari did an amazing job in this story. This story was carefully written and intertwined through all POV's from Phoebe's, Razor's, and Marcus'. The scenes are dark, twisted, sweaty, on fire, and some I've not heard of before. This book is filled with unkempt passion, igniting revenge, and navigating through ups and downs in the relationship while trying to find out the truth. It hurt when the truth finally revealed itself at the end, but it was a somewhat bittersweet happy ending. Be warned, chef those triggers instead of trying to tell yourself your toocopl for it or just wanting to go in blind.

This ends with a sort of "that's a wrap" feeling leaving the back door wide open for our insatiable throuple to purposely place themselves in problematic predicaments and positions for payback and peace :)

Phoebe, our heroine, is no stranger to CNC. She's never personally engaged in it but she is willing to do anything to find her missing friend. Even if it means being the toy of two men for a weekend of debauchery

This series has been a rollercoaster ride from the start,and i loved all it’s stories.
Remember when i said that the CNC isn’t what you think it is?
In this story,Phoebe makes the decision to take the risk because she’ll do anything to find her bestie.
She knows there’s more going on than “simply” CNC,so in that aspect she’s different than the other girls.
The men that she will be going with both have their own agenda,and she’s not sure she can trust them.
Giving the story that extra edge from the start…..but there’s more.
Because she might not be safe,in this case Razor and Marcus are at risk too.
So,while there’s a lot of heated scenes between the three,there’s also danger lurking that could mean they might not make it out alive.
All of this is not making me feel any saner…..because i still enjoyed every second!

Having read it,i needed more than a minute to catch my breath and get my brain to work again,because damn……that ws one hell of a rollercoaster ride!!
When Phoebe’s bestie Milli wants to explore her kinks,she reluctantly arranges an invite to her late father’s club,the CNC Fraternity.
But then Milli doesn’t return…..and she can’t find any other way to find out what happened to her than follow in her footsteps.
The men assigned to her introduction light an unexpected spark in her,even if one of them wears a mask to hide his identity.
The party they take her to lights that fire even more,but she needs to keep her eye on her goal,find out where Milli went.
With a few more clues,and after repeatedly having very disturbing nightmares,she’s even more determined,but how to get to this mysterious place?
Trying to get a seat on the board of the club fails miserably,but opens another possibility….with two by now very familiar men.
When Razor called Marcus with his request,he knew his friend would be intrigued.
Because Marcus knew the girl that needed an introduction to the Fraternity….but what happened between them to make him feel the need to punish her?
Phoebe turned out to be a delicious temptation,and playing with her was fun.
Playing Marcus’ feelings for the girl was equally fun,and he knew Marcus would lose the bet they made…..
Marcus never got over what Phoebe and her family did to him and his years ago,and getting the opportunity to make her pay was too good to pass.
But once he had a taste of her,he knew he couldn’t leave it at that,and he gave her the chance to atone for everything.
Only to find things weren’t what he thought they were…..and what to do with thát?
Maybe getting a second chance would help to clear the air between them?
Going to the mysterious place where Milli was last seen was the opportunity Phoebe had been waiting for.
Doing it with Marcus and Razor meant she’d be having fun during her search,as well as having the backup she’d probably need when things might get dangerous.
Being pushed the way they pushed her wasn’t something she thought she’d enjoy this much,but she did….and she wanted more.
But there was danger lurking in every corner,people with secret agendas,and the distinct possibility of death….
Would these three lovers find out what happened to Milli?
And would they live to tell the tale?
This was a delicious story,one that made me grab hubby on more than one occasion for much needed relief.
One that made me cheer these three on to try out even more of the hot and heavy stuff and to shout warnings to them to be careful.
Because i needed them to come out of this alive….relatively unharmed…..and together.
If you like your stories on the darker side,this sure is one i recommend to you.
And as a fan of Cari’s work,i would recommend that if you enjoy this one,you might try the others in the series,too….because they’re just as delicious!

This was a delicious story,one that made me grab hubby on more than one occasion for much needed relief.
One that made me cheer these three on to try out even more of the hot and heavy stuff and to shout warnings to them to be careful.
Because i needed them to come out of this alive….relatively unharmed…..and together.
If you like your stories on the darker side,this sure is one i recommend to you.
And as a fan of Cari’s work,i would recommend that if you enjoy this one,you might try the others in the series,too….because they’re just as delicious!

Cruel Love is the best love? Apparently so!
Highly entertaining, frequently arousing, and often amusing, Their Cruel Love is a fantastic read. But I’m bollocks at writing reviews so I’ll allow the book to sell itself-
The kink is always…chef’s kiss:
“One of the men is between my spread open legs. He smacks himself down, his c**k going inside me to the hilt. After a few more forceful pumps, he lowers himself onto my back, squashing me. A pillow is laid across my face. With his elbow leaning on one end, he keeps me under it, then he starts to f*** me harder.”
Snarky characters make it fun:
“Will they outright kill me? It would be unjust for us to die and for them to survive. Life does suck though.”
The prose amuses and stimulates:
“I cuff her hands behind her. The clicks as the cuffs fasten down are so very familiar and speak straight to my d!c*. Cuffs fastening are like a trumpet to a centurion on the frontline of his legion.”

I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story from this arthur. Once again we're dealing with the CNC fraternity and this time we have suspense thrown in with these character's.
What do you do when your best friend goes missing and no one is helping? You get answers yourself, but Phoebe first has to get through the door at the last place her friend was, the CNC fraternity.
Razor and Marcus are both member's plus they also work for the fraternity. It seems in order for Phoebe to get some answers about her missing friend she firsts has to go through Razor, and just so happens that Marcus is there the day she does, and Razor makes a bet with Marcus about getting her to come to Spain, because he knows his friend has a thing for her and wants to push his buttons. Will she go? She knows that to get answers she has no choice.
This story took me on several twists and turns that had me flipping pages to find out what was happening next. I loved the humor and snark Phoebe brings in here and Razor and Marcus are all to ready to punish her for it, and with the trouble these three find it had me on the edge of my seat. I cannot wait to see what this arthur has for us next.

Their Cruel Love introduced me to a whole new genre that might just be my favourite - the smutty murder mystery! This book has so much tension and action, alongside all the fantastic kinky scenes.
The whole premise is just so fun. Phoebe, investigating the disappearance of her friend, has to infiltrate a hard core sex cult with the help of her sexy ex boyfriend and his equally hot friend. The secluded island location, with no hope of rescue if they get into trouble, amps up the tension to boiling point.
I'd recommend this book to anyone a bit bored with the usual dark romance tropes, looking for something new and fresh (but just as kinky).
Five stars!

This one is a crazy ride!
I love all the books for various reasons but this one is my favorite. It's got what I desire in the CNC Fraternity books which is very steamy and hot scenes!💥 This book is a murder mystery of a disturbing Secret Society that the CNC must investigate. First, is there a murder? Second, the investigation with the two very hot Doms that Phoebe has a past with ( Well one of them) and a more recent CNC encounter with the other Dom. So yes its two extremely hot Alpha males that are on this dangerous mission on a remote Island no less to figure out this mystery. It's intense and nail biting and has a lot of twists and turns. I'm hoping that the next book is a sequel to this one. It's not an actual cliffhanger but it could be connected with another CNC book as a sequel to this one. Maybe another couple perhaps? This book also has a sadness to it after the mystery is revealed. I won't ruin it for y'all but this is really worth reading. I recommend it highly and because it is written by Cari Silverwood you know its written flawlessly.

Before reading this book, make sure you are okay with reading about CNC. Consensual non-consent can be alarming if you aren't aware that the participants have negotiated prior to the scene.
As you might expect, there is a lot of graphic sex and it's the majority of the book. This is a MFM interaction, meaning no swords cross. The trio are all very personable and I liked all the characters. A HEA makes the book satisfying.
And a good time was had by all.

Dark but amazing!
Read the trigger warnings. If you proceed, know that this is an incredibly well written story that twists and turns in all the right places. It’s dark and messy but keeps you reading. The HEA is unexpected but awesome!

loved the book! Marcus is the most interesting one under my point of view as he has a past with Phoebe but also a past with Razor. It makes it kinda be the anchor in that. But also Razor has a common past with Marcus and Phoebe mom, making it look like all of them have their lifes entwingled across time

Another amazing dark read from Cari! I love the CNC fraternity. Phoebe, Marcus and Razor will take you on a crazy ride. There is twisted crazy things that happen in this story. This world has grown on me and I can’t wait for the next one. Thank you Cari for brining us the CNC world. This one you need on your shelf.

Their Cruel Love by Cari Silverwood is a wild ride and perfect for everyone whose guilty pleasure, like mine, is CNC. I am almost ashamed to admit that although I’ve had this series on my TBR for a while, this one is actually the first instalment I dove into. And man, did I enjoy it! The twists that kept coming, along with a storyline that evolved into something else entirely than I had anticipated.
Phoebe, Marcus, and Razor are characters who find themselves pushed to their limits in one regard or another as they navigate their desires. The exploration of their relationships is intense, filled with passion, revenge, and seemingly unending ups and downs. The scenes are dark, twisted, and oh-so-kinky and steamy, making for a thrilling read.
Overall, Their Cruel Love is an emotional rollercoaster that will leave you breathless until the very end. Check those triggers before diving in though, because this one has it in spades. I’ll definitely go and check out the first two books in this series now.
