The beginning of this book started out kind of slow for me and dragged on but it does get much much better. Luna's father is abusive he murdered his first wife her mother. And eventually his second. He takes her from home and hands her over to her husband's family. She had no idea that she'd been married off she was only 14 and her husband rejected her because she was just a child. Benedetto wanted nothing to do with the marriage. His sole Focus was getting revenge for his brother and trying to find a way to reverse the Damage Done to his brother. His mother Vala with pressuring him to consummate the marriage. Years later he does but it does not result in a pregnancy as his mother had hope. So she continued to teach his wife and then set her on a path to seduce her own husband so she could concede. I never trusted Vala but I did not realize just how truly evil that woman was. And then the Cliffhanger of this book leaves you breathless. And I'm angry because I don't know when the next book comes out.

I am within a few pages of finishing. This is a beautifully bound book with lots of illustrations. I will say the white type font at the beginning of each chapters is almost impossible to read. Unfortunately, the physical properties are the best things about this book.

The writing draws on every cliched technique from ripped bodice romances and juvenile fantasy novels for story lines and dialog and includes a liberal dusting of mommy porn. It would be impossible to have spoilers since the outcomes were obvious from the first few pages.

I was so excited about this book when I bought it but the only reason I am actually finishing it was because it cost $40. I usually will give away the books I finish to friends, but this one is so bad I won't embrass myself or burden them with it.

This book gave Supernatural meets Bridgeton meet action-packed adventure.
Chapter 10 was EVERYTHING!
Her playing her husband was Chefs kiss!
A good read with crimes, guiding threw politics and also navigating an arranged marriage. The ending got alittle slow for me. I felt there was room for more context of her magic and the story's next phase. It might be in book 2.

This was my first read from this author and I enjoyed it! The world building was well done and the story line was good. There were times that I was confused, but it wasn’t that bad. I will definitely be looking for the next one!

This book was suspenseful in all the best ways. Kept me on the edge of my seat. Beautiful complex characters that kept me engaged from start to finish. I would recommend this book to anyone seeking a new Romantasy read.

Was not a fan of the writing style of the book. Everything seemed to move too fast and it didn’t feel like I truly connected to the characters or their relationship.
