I'm not sure how to rate this. On one hand, I really enjoyed their story, but on the other, the pacing felt weird and very fast-paced; I literally powered through it in 3hrs.

Fix Me Up by Caitlin Klassen is a beautiful, bittersweet journey that brings The Foundation series full circle. As both a prequel and a powerful finale, this book takes us back to where it all began, revealing the heartfelt and tender origins of Bree and Grant’s relationship as well as the start of Ellie's contracting business.  It was a seamless blend of emotional depth and effortless storytelling.

Grant’s journey is the heart of the book—a man broken by the devastating loss of his family and trapped in grief. I thought his struggles were portrayed really well, with such rawness and honesty that it’s impossible not to feel deeply for him.
Bree, on the other hand, is the perfect counterbalance: kind, compassionate, and unwavering in her support. Her strength and quiet determination help pull Grant out of the darkness, and their relationship feels so natural, pure, and deeply moving.

“You listen to me, and you listen good.” I poke my finger against his chest. “You do not get to tell me if you are good for me or not. I get to make that choice. Spending time with you is MY choice.” I give him a stern look. “No one. Has. Ever. Stood. Up. For. Me.” I exaggerate each word as I poke his chest, harder each time. “You have protected me, you’ve let me rant, and you’ve complimented me to no end. I won’t shove you aside because some random man who smells like ass warns me about you or because you have baggage.”

The pacing was a little strange to me; it was really fast-paced yet so smooth. I'm not sure how to describe it. But was free of unnecessary drama, with conflicts resolved thoughtfully and organically, which was really nice though! I loved the balance between heartfelt moments, playful interactions, and just the right touch of spice, making the story feel vibrant and real.

I loved seeing how Bree and Grant’s story connects to the other books adding a layer of magic to the entire series. It’s a bittersweet farewell, but the author ensures it’s satisfying, tying up loose ends beautifully in the epilogue.

Fix Me Up was everything I could have hoped for, it was more than just a romance—it’s a story of healing, growth, and the transformative power of love. Caitlin Klassen has truly outdone herself, delivering a story that lingers long after the final page. I can’t wait to see what Caitlin has in store for us next!

Fix Me Up is a delicious cocktail of romance and self-discovery with a dash of Nashville charm.

This story, along with the entire series, captured my heart right from the start, really giving me all the feels! Thanks a lot Caitlin, haha.

My favorite character is "Just Bree" – she shines with her unique and fun personality. Although I must say, Grant isn't too shabby 🔥. The relationship between Grant and Bree is truly beautiful, as they navigate through their own heartbreaks to find each other and the support they never knew they needed.

I could not put this book down, and I bet you won’t be able to either! Caitlin's writing is both moving and uplifting, making this book an unforgettable read.
If you’re on the hunt for a book that’s touching, inspiring, and stays with you long after the last page, "Fix Me Up" is the one.
Caitlin, you've truly outdone yourself – you're on my list of top romance authors to read!

I also want to say that Caitlin did a great job wrapping up The Foundation series in the epilogue! I will miss this series and the characters, but looking forward to the next series! So proud to be a part of your team!

The love shared between Grant and Bree was evident throughout the whole series but to see how it began and developed...just made sense to their characters. What can I say about this book?! While this is the fourth book in the series, it acts as a prequel to the rest (and can be read either way, but might I suggest reading it last 😉). Because reading it last, you fall in love with Grant and Bree and their little family through the other books, but this one gives you a look into their past.

Grant, a (mostly) reformed “bad-boy”, and Bree, goody-two-shoes people pleaser, have a chance meeting in Nashville and sparks fly. Grant’s personal growth really shows through in this book, as he navigates his grief and first real love after the losses in his family. He’s portrayed incredibly real, and you cannot help but to feel right alongside him. Bree stays beside him through it all, providing unending support and love.

This book really is more than just another romance, it’s a tender gift from Caitlin to her readers about the power of love, growth, and healing.

This is my first Caitlin Klassen book, but I can assure you it won't be my last.
I'm definitely going back to the previous books in The Foundation series and devouring them, too!

This was such a sweet read; and it truly encapsulates the aftermath of such life-altering grief.
I had far too many similarities with Grant, and felt his relationship with Just Bree, mimicked a lot of my relationship with my husband.
It felt so, so genuine, and I loved seeing their story and their love strengthen.

Not only that, but being able to see Bree come out of her shell and learning to lean on others for support, while also helping Grant heal, was truly perfect; and I'm so glad I read this book.

Can't wait to go back to Nashville with the previous instalments!

To say this was one of my favourite books ever is an understatement and I can’t even begin to express how much I loved this book. Grant, this broken man just trying to survive his grief had me hooked from the very start. When I tell you I couldn’t put it down I’m not exaggerating. Today was a hard day to adult lol. I wanted to just sit and immerse myself in Grant’s and Bree’s story. And please do yourself a favour and listen to their playlists as you read. I would rate this book 6 stars if I could cause that’s how much I loved Grant! This phrase will forever live in my head and in my heart. “I love you, in case I die”. Well…it’s 2:30am and I’m crying.

Fix Me Up is the perfect cherry to top off The Foundation series. Caitlin did a great job of writing characters one falls in love with. The first 3 novels are based in present time, with character facing obstacles and falling in love along the way. Fix Me Up is the origin story of both Elm Contracting and Design, From The Ground Up tv show, and everything that came after. It is the origin story of the OG couple who had the Mom and Dad vibe of the crew.

Grant’s backstory is sad, but what he’s able to make out of it is beautiful. Bree is the strong FMC we all love. I’m glad we were able to travel back in time to see their love story.

The epilogue is everything too (probably where most of my tears came from). It ties the perfect bow over the series

Heartfelt, heartbreaking, and cleansing.

I absolutely loved that this was a prequel to The Foundation series. It gave us insight into the earlier lives of Bree & Grant, and how their relationship started. How they formed such a strong bond that was carried through the first three books in this series. How two people who come from such different backgrounds can be perfect for each other.

I devoured this book in a day. I am so sad this is the last of the series, but I cannot wait to see what Caitlin has up her sleeve for us next.

I was graciously given an ARC for this book by the author. I enjoyed this book. And although it's part of a series that I haven't read, it is a prequel and I didn't find it hard to follow along. I could also tell which characters would likely be leading into future books.

I found this book has great bones... a good foundation, if you will! 😉 but I found parts seemed a little, simple maybe? Dialogue could have been a little more in-depth. Although, parts of the dialogue seemed very blunt as well. I don't know, I haven't been 22/23 in a while! I liked the story line and plot, but execution could have been a bit more finessed.

Spice level was a bit low, maybe 2 🌶️ at most, whomp whomp! lol

This book was an enjoyable read. Grant was a character that I enjoyed reading and had an emotional back story that played a huge part in his storyline. Bree was a strong female character who had some issues with her family but was an amazing influence on Grant and enabled him to move on and start his own healing journey. The book was brilliantly written, and I loved how the story developed.

I really loved this book, the chemistry between Grant and Bree was incredible and Grant was such a sweetie even though he’s seen as a bad boy. I also really loved seeing all the previous characters be introduced and where essentially the story started.

Oh Grant and Bree have my heart, I fell in love with them reading the first 3 books however this book shows them from the start, shows the heartbreak and pain, overcoming trauma and becoming better. I cried hard, Grant story is so incredibly heartbreaking but so powerful to! He is a tattooed, biker with a heart of gold and I loved his brother's, their bond!

FMC Bree, moves to Nashville to start teaching coming from a world of rich people and being a people pleaser, she pushes her boundaries and becomes her own person and falls for the reformed bad boy!

This book will bring you joy, make you cry and put you back together. This is the 4th book of the foundation series, prequel to the first 3!

This is the perfect finale to the Foundation series. In this prequel we get to go back and learn how Bree and Grant first meet.

Bree has decided to run from her family drama. Her high society, big expectations, holier than thou family isn't about to let her just do anything with her life, so she flees to Nashville where she starts a teaching job.

Grant has had a lot of family trauma and has lost some of the people who were most important to him in the world. It left him shaken and determined not to get too close to anyone ever again. He ends up with a pretty strong bad boy persona.

When they meet sparks fly, but will Grant be good enough for Bree and her family? And will he be willing to stick around when things get messy?

I absolutely loved this conclusion to the foundation series and hope that maybe, just maybe, we'll get a little teaser from them all in the future.

Grant and Bree are Couple Goals, so I was so happy we could get their story finally. Their story was full of grief and healing, young Grant was a broken young man and even though he didn’t think so he was desperately looking for healing. Enter Bree. She was shy but was quick to sass Grant. Bree was looking to be accepted and make a life that was her own, away from what her mother wanted for her. She was craving and wanted to be surrounded by people who love her and accept her for who she is. Bree truly saved Grant. But I also feel that in a way Grant also saved Bree. He fell hard for her, her real self. Showed her that she was perfect being Just Bree.

I loved seeing the beginning of the Thompson Family. I shed sad tears for all that Grant went through, and then I shed happy tears for the changes he made. The whole time I was avoiding finishing because I knew this was the end. And Caitlin, what an end it was. This ending was beautiful, I wasn’t expecting the epilogue to start the way it did (Cue in more tears). I felt as though I was saying goodbye to old friends, lucky for me I can re-read the books whenever I want. This trip to Nashville was a memorable one and I will miss the Foundation Family.

Grant and Bree, the couple that started it all. I’ve been waiting since From The Ground Up for their story, and now that it’s here, I can’t wait for everyone to read it.
I can’t even begin to put into words the love I have for all of these couples, I’m not ready to say goodbye.
Losing three of the most important people in his life at a young age, Grant has been rebellious, the bad boy with a sad backstory.
Bree grew up in a world filled with expectations, expectations she wanted nothing to do with. Picking a spot on the map, she moved to Nashville, having no idea what was waiting there for her.
I’ve loved these two since the beginning. However, their story is more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. I laughed, I of course cried, I felt for these two characters. That’s one of the many things I love about Caitlin, she writes characters you can relate to. Feelings, and situations that you have been through. The emotions of every character are written so delicately.
While we’ve gotten to know them from the first book to know, seeing how all of this started is a thing of beauty, and don’t get me started on that epilogue! (Caitlin loves to make me cry, I swear it)
To Caitlin Klassen, thank you. Thank you for these characters, for giving us these books. Whitney, Wyatt, Scott, Ellie, Paige, Rhys, Bree, and Grant wouldn’t be who they are without you, and the care that you gave each one of them. You’re an incredible author, and an even better person. I am a new fan of @authorcaitlinklassen - reading my fists book of hers earlier this month- From the Ground Up, which is book one of this series. This book, FIX ME UP is a prequel book to the series - taking place seven years before FTGU, and features readers fav guy- Grant and his girl Bree.

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

Y’all this book is so good. First off, it will make your heart hurt for Grant- his backstory is tragic. He doesn’t deal with his grief and trauma over what happened in the best way, and it took along time for him to change his says and really work on himself. He goes from the town’s resident bad boy, to a complete softie… and it’s all because of Bree- the new teacher who moved to Nashville for a fresh start.

I loved the character development that both Grant and Bree go through. Grant doesn’t think he’s good enough for Bree- and she shows him that he is worthy and deserving of good things. While this book deals with heavy topics, it had equal light and laughable moments too- Bree singing “Fergalicious” in Grant’s truck. The found family Bree found within Grant’s family and friends.

While I have only read book one in this series before reading this one, I didn’t feel like I was missing anything. This is because Fix Me Up is a prequel book to the series, so I am actually not missing anything! Yayyy! Well, unless you count the epilogue… but tbay didn’t bother me! It made me gooey with excitement to read the other two books in the series!

Caitlin, I fell in love!!! Fix Me Up is Grant and Bree's story. And what a story it is. Two complete opposites are trying to find themselves and get through their past trauma. This read has it all and will pull on your heart strings

Grant is trying to do better in his life after his loss and spilling out of control. Yes, he was a bad boy once upon a time. Bree (aka Just Bree) comes from a high society family who expects her to be perfect. She is a people pleaser, hates to fail, and is considered to be the black sheep of the family.

She moves far away from her up tight family to Nashville, where she meets Grant. Together, they go through ups and downs in their journey of self-discovery and healing.

The way Grant loves Bree and how patient they are with each other's emotions.This was truly written so beautifully. I love the way they were in their most intimate moments, how Grant made her feel special and help her learn her body along with his. Bree is the definition of a ride or die girlfriend, not giving up and showing Grant all his worth.

Get your tissues ready, ladies and gentlemen, because this read will have you crying, smiling, gasping, and thinking they need to get together. Yes, it's an emotional roller coster, but the ride is so worth it.

Kudos to you, Caitlin, on a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read. I couldn't get enough!!! The spice, how can I describe it. The way they were together, their emotions, how they showed they needed each other, and the way he guided her intimately 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶.

New beginnings never looked so good, and it appears Nashville is the place for them!

Bree is escaping her overbearing parents, mainly mother, and wants to live her life on her own terms as a teacher. Her family consists of nothing but doctors & anything less is not good enough. Grant is trying to grow and escape his tragic past, and be better for himself & his brothers. That past is what made him the "bad boy" and gave him the reputation he wants to leave behind.

From the pretty standard first meeting, in a bar & introduced by friends, they are clearly drawn to each other but stay due to perceptions they have towards each other. Each subsequent meeting digs a little deeper and gives you more into their pasts. She's willing to be & give exactly what he needs...he just needs to stop running and open up.

Grant's past is heartbreaking and you will cry so hard over it! That tough facade, that he built up, is nothing but a facade. While he'll protect those he loves, fiercely, he is the biggest teddy bear ever!

This was my first book by this author, and I'm so glad it was a prequel so that I'll get to enjoy the series fresh. The epilogue was, clearly, for the entire series, but it didn't spoil too much IMO.

Thoughts: This is the fourth and final book of The Foundation series. I did an arc read for the third book and loved it, so I’m so glad I got the opportunity to do a second arc read for this book. This book goes back in time and tells us the story of Grant and Bree. Bree moves to Nashville to get away from a life that was forced upon her. Here, she meets Grant who had been running from his past for years. We see the pair help each other become better versions of themselves – Grant helping Bree create new experiences and meet new people, and Bree helping Grant change his ways and confront his past.
I loved this book just as much, if not more, than the third book in the series. It was a cute, fast read and it was nice getting to see how the whole series essentially came to be. I loved the way both characters were there for each other and how there was the whole instant-attraction thing between them. Seeing Grant try so hard to be a better version of himself after meeting Bree, and seeing the softer side of him was incredible. I’m excited to go back and read the first two books in the series (I’ve been wanting to since reading the third book but just haven’t had the chance to do so yet). I highly recommend giving this series a shot, especially if you’re craving a fast-paced book!

Caitlin Klassen’s Fix Me Up is a heartfelt contemporary romance that explores love, self-discovery, and healing. When Bree moves to Nashville, she unexpectedly crosses paths with Grant—a tattooed Harley rider who is nothing like the men she’s used to. This book had me laughing out loud with its witty dialogue and humorous moments, but it also made me reflect on my own life. Bree’s journey felt deeply personal to me, as we’ve both faced challenges in stepping away from expectations to carve out our own paths. There were so many moments where I felt like I was right there with her, experiencing the ups and downs of her journey.

And that ending? It had me in tears. Watching these characters grow and find their happiness was such a rewarding experience. Fix Me Up is a beautifully written romance that left me feeling emotional and fulfilled. I’m so glad I got to witness these characters blossom, and I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a story filled with heart, humor, and transformation.

I can’t tell you enough how much I loved this book. I am a sucker for the good guy with a rough past and so happy about how Grant and Just Bree’s story worked out. The details of Grant and his struggle to get over the loss of him parents and sister (best friend) is so heartbreaking. It makes you feel for characters as if they are your true friends. I also love how happy and full of sunshine Bree is. She was the light that Grant needed to truly become a better person. Part of me wishes that there was more about Bree’s background, it focuses a lot on her issues with her mom. I was just wishing to hear about the heartwarming moments with her dad (more about the ones where he takes clients where ever she is to spend time with her). This all also took within the span of one year. Part of me wishes that it could have gone on longer but that’s because I want to read more about them lol

The pace of the book was super quick, but somehow still smooth? Like rushing through a dessert but savouring every bite. There’s no unnecessary drama—just thoughtful conflicts, playful banter, heartfelt moments, and a little spice 🌶️ The epilogue ties it all together nicely 🥰

It’s more than romance—it’s about healing, growth, and love. Caitlin Klassen nailed it, and I’m already waiting impatiently for her next book. 🛠💔💖

Thank you Caitlin for the opportunity to read this ARC.

I absolutely loved Grant’s story! It had my crying, laughing and falling in love with these characters.

Although this is the last book in the series, it’s set before Ellie and Scott (From The Ground up) - although the epilogue will give some clues if you read this one first.

Grant had my heart breaking in so many places, from the way he handled his grief, to how he was trying to do better. I loved his flashbacks that let us see into his soul - to see the real Grant, the Grant that Bree saw from the moment she met him.

I felt like Bree could see through his hard bad boy exterior from the get go, and she pushed her way into his heart and broke down his walls and helped him move forward. Bree had her own issues to deal with too, but with the help of Grant, she got there.

I loved seeing their love blossom, and the friendships grow between, Ellie, Page, Grant and Bree, and see how it all started!

Simply a wonderful story that pulls all the heart strings.

Bree has lived a life of so many expectations set by her family and her only way out of it all was to move away from them ending up in Nashville where she will find is exactly where she is meant to be. Growing up Grant suffered several losses which set him on a path of rebellion, self destruction and leaving him with a bad reputation but life gives him a second chance and who better to see the good in him than Bree.

Fix Me Up is the final book in The Foundation Series and as much as I hate to see this series end, I am so glad we got Grant and Bree's story which definitely finished it all up perfectly. This story is filled with so much emotion, growth and healing making it hard for me to be able to it down and hope you fall in love with them as well. If you have not read any of the books in this series, I highly recommend them all and although you do not have to read them in order, I recommend it, so you get the best reading experience.
