I’m a guilty man, paying penance for reasons I don’t expect anyone to understand. Hiding out in the mountains of Montana is my brand of communication, and it’s worked well for sixteen years.
Until now.
Lynn ignites feelings within me, tempting me with her contagious laugh and fiery spirit. She makes me want to come out of the shadows. But once she discovers who I really am, the one whose family is built on destruction, can I prove to her I’m not lying about my heart? That I’m not like them?
In this second installment, another small-town romance sweeps through Montana with unadulterated passion, unexpected twists, and a quest for redemption.
Wildflower, book 2 of the Montana Heirs series, follows Lynn and Isaac to their HEA. Lynn is a restaurant owner and amazing chef. Tall, fire-red hair, and feisty to boot. She is hella proud of her Floridian cafe, and has scrapped with the big corp developers that want to shut her down and buy her out. Surprisingly, they finally back off just in time for her to fly out to her BFF’s wedding back in their home town. Leaving her restaurant in good hands, she flies out to celebrate her friends and face a few of her demons. Isaac knows a thing or two about inner demons as well. He’s haunted by his past, by wrongs he couldn’t prevent and a life he couldn’t save. He left his life of comfort, and wandered the states until finally settling in Montana. He’s a survivalist guide now, because hell, he’s been in survival mode for most of his life now. Can he survive the waves of desire and the pull he feels towards Lynn, his Wildflower? Can they really walk away after just one night together… especially when the sex was so mind-blowingly amazing?
I loved the realness of the characters, and the genuine small town vibe. Quintessential diner scenes, family drama, high school rivalries that never die… could be a page from my own hometown *lol*. Lynn is an independent, motivated woman but she isn’t wrought iron: she’s got insecurities, vulnerabilities. Isaac is so 3-dimensional too: strong, muscular, intelligent, quiet, but willing to open up and put himself out there for Lynn. Their connection feels organic, exactly how it could happen in real life… except maybe that diner scene (but, dang, if a girl can dream it would be devilishly divine!).
No spoilers but I love how their story resolves! It is true to each character’s arc and I let out a deep contented sigh at the end. I’d follow these two into many more pages - especially if they go back to that waterfall 😉 And seriously, why are pet names so darn romantic? Isaac calls Lynn his Wildflower, and it just fits. It’s so beautiful. I’m book envious of every MC that gets an adorable non-standard nickname.
Tropes: Hidden Identity, Small Town, Weddings, Secret Wealth
Ashley Kay I just finished Wildflower. It is written with lots of passion and empathy. You fall in love with Lynn and Isaac. You actually become jealous of there relationship. You find yourself rooting for them. Like they are your best friends. I am so very proud of Ashley. Her writing takes you to places you have never been. I cannot wait for the next one in the Montana Heirs series. 😘♥️
When a dream Viking wakes her from her slumber, she isn't prepared for the first time hearing his voice. Lynn wants to get to know him, but she isn't staying. Her life and restaurant are waiting for her back in Florida.
Woooweee, these two are just perfect for each other, and they don't even realize it. Isaac is what women dream of. Lynn is not just a 'little lady', she is definitely a Wildflower. She has the backbone and a temper that matches her hair!
The way the author sneaks around the entire story with tiny hints and brings you in bit by bit will have you not wanting to put it down. It can be read as a standalone, but it's better if you read Denim Blues first. If you have a need to see the girl save the day for once, you need to read this!
This is a story of two people with secrets and insecurities who are both fighting their attraction while at the same time unable to resist one another. But their chemistry is palpable and as they get to know each other more and more and get closer as friends(I guess that's what they're going for, but it's obvious to the reader that that's never going to work lol), they fall inevitably in love with each other. The big question, to me, is: will they let themselves be happy??
This small-town romance is BIG on delivering the spice between a fiery and self-confident Lynn and a stoic and ‘lumberjack’ hunky Isaac. With both characters guarding their own secret pasts, this story has plenty of tease and tension . . . and release in all the right places.
The alternating POV’s held me close to the characters and the inner dialogue had me cracking up laughing. Isaac is both tender and rough, and Lynn is his fiery equal – a perfect match!
Wildflower is full of swoon-worthy romance, HEAT, family drama, ‘cozy’ diner scenes *wink wink*, delicious dishes, a sexy secret waterfall, and genuine characters.
Yep, stayed up all night reading this and had a book hangover. Definitely recommend to romance lovers.
I fell in love with Ashley's writing while reading Denim Blues and I could not wait for the next book. Wildflower did not disappoint. It was amazing. It got me out of a book rut & left me with a book hangover (in the absolute best way).
Ashley Kay writes steamy small town romances with an emotional punch so wonderfully.
For both of their lives Lynn and Isaac have been running from something, but when they (officially) meet they finally feel themselves wanting to run TO something. Their chemistry is off the charts and this book has some super steamy bits that will leave you fanning yourself.
Lynn is strong and fierce but also learning how to face the demons of her past and allow herself to be vulnerable.
Isaac is swoony AF but guarded. He's running from his past, heart heavy with guilt and doesn't like to let other people in. With Lynn, he finds it might be worth the risk.
Through twists and turns, this book is steamy, sweet, heartwarming, with a few moments of utter heartbreak, but it promises a happy ending you will swoon over (and plenty of steamy sex along the way–just watch out for sand! 😉)
If you like steamy small town romances, I highly recommend this one!
I was lucky to receive this ARC from Ashley and it is the second in the Montana Heir series, where we get to meet Lynn the fiery redhead Isaac and gentle giant Isaac.
I loved Ashley’s first book in this series but I have to say I enjoyed Wildflower even more. From the POV of both Isaac and Lynn we see they both have a past which they would rather forget, and both have been doing a pretty good job until their worlds collide. Their attraction to each other is undeniable and they both fight it as they know a relationship couldn’t develop but the attraction is too strong so they decide to chalk it up to one amazing night. But as their circumstances change their one night becomes a few weeks, but as they both knew everything good for them seems to end and they go their separate ways.
Isaac is the quiet, reserved gorgeous survivalist and Lynn is a fierce redhead who isn’t afraid to tell you what she wants. Together they break each other’s walls down and sparks fly.
Isaac and Lynn are hot! Neither wants a relationship and they both cannot help the magnetism they feel for the other. She has some issues but is brave and faces her fears with a little nudge from him. He is running from his past. They complement each other in every way.
This is the second book of the Montana Heirs series, and I am absolutely hooked. The first book in the series; Denim Blues was wonderful and this one was even spicier! I loved the connection between Isaac and Lynn. It’s hot with a little bit of sweetness. It was hard to stop reading the book because each chapter left me wanting to know more! Isaac is a total dream and will definitely add some oooh la la to your life. I can’t wait for the third book of the series to come out!
Wow, just wow! When I first read about Savy’s best friend Lynn in the first book I knew she was going to be a character that I really liked. And the little I saw about Isaac in book 1 definitely had me intrigued about him as well.
This book did not disappoint my expectations and I absolutely loved the both of them. The chemistry between the two of them was incredibly hot and it was beautiful watching the two of them fall in love with each other while also dealing with the demons of their pasts.
Isaac is seriously the ultimate book boyfriend and I found myself not wanting to put the book down because I wanted to know what was going to happen and wanted to see how things were connected (I was totally right!!!).
Seriously, this was an exceptional story and I am truly amazed by Ashley’s story telling abilities. I cannot wait for book 3!
My first book by Ashley Kay and i very much enjoyed it!! I need to go and read book 1 in the series now. In Wildflower the focus is on Lynn and Isaac(AKA Izador Knightley), two amazingly vulnerable people braving a harsh world. Two souls surviving their brokenness. Lynn in Florida escaping her past in Montana and Isaac in Montana escaping his past in Florida. This is a bit of a second chance romance as our two leads shared a moment at a barn dance two years previous. Fast forward and Lynn is back in Montana for a week as her best friend's maid of honor. Not only do Savy's matchmaking attempts help give these two characters a push to act on their attraction but so does Tucker when he asks Lynn and Issac for help revamping his diner's menu. As hard as they tried they couldn't help falling in love with each other, despite their palpable fear of exposing all those semi-healed wounds, their fear of rejection from the other for what they believe are marks against their very souls when in reality they are just casualties of their parents sins and life's choices. I was so happy when they gave in to that emotional connection as it really helped start that healing process for one another. Isaac helped cement Lynn's hard earned self-worth and Lynn helped Isaac realize that a lot of those sins he felt guilt over weren't his to bear allowing him to feel free to love and be loved and to live. I didn't know what i would get coming into this story but it sure was more than what i was expecting, a few little twists and a whole lot of steam too! I'll be recommending this book any chance i get.
I don't know why I chose this line to be my favorite one from the book but even though it isn't the best one from Wildflower, it definitely spoke to me the most.😌
Ashley has done a marvelous job writing about Issac and Lynn, about their journey of finding one another and solace from their own demons. When she asked me to ARC read her book, I did not see how amazing these characters were, and how beautiful their story would be.
Both Lynn and Isaac have pasta that they constantly seek to escape. Both of them almost are skeptical of love and both if their parents basically sucked, scarring them right from their childhoods. I loved how they finally found themselves after all these years because of each other and helped each other let go of their horrible pasts that they had been holding on to for so long.
Moreover, this book offered me a change of setting from the books I usually read, having been set in Montana, which was way different from the city based books I usually read.
And Issac... Whew... 🥵! That's all I have to say about that man!
And both characters are too tall! I couldn't relate with their tallness because well... I'm about as tall as Ariana Grande! 😂
Overall, this was an amazing read and I think ya'll should go add it to your TBR right now!

Ashley Kay is becoming one of my new favorite authors to read!
"Wildflower" checks off the following tropes: *Secret Identity *Sexy Mountain Man *One-Night Stand Turned Love *Quiet Guy with a Dirty Mouth
Isaac, oh Isaac. This sexy mountain, Montana man with a secret is the man everyone wants. He's tall, rugged, great in a crisis, and damn HOT!! He chooses his words carefully when talking, and comes off as reserved to others. But boy, oh boy. He does not hold back in the bedroom. His dirty talk and imaginative play in the bedroom, well not the bedroom...more like everywhere but the bedroom, is swoon worthy.
Lynn is a spunky red-head who is back in Montana after fleeing her own past to Florida. She is a restaurant owner, and the BFF to our beloved Savy from "Denim Blues". She has the intention of a one-night stand with Mr. Isaac Snow, but who can turn away from all of that man?!?
Overall, this book was sweet and spicy. There might have been one or two, or three, chapters I tabbed for later.
Wildflower is one of those romance novels you just don't want end. It's sweet and spicy, heartwarming and naughty and it involves a super cute couple you just can't help falling in love with.
So, the story is about Isaac and Lynn who hooked up after thier friends' wedding. They both intended for their affair to be a one and done, but it was so hot you could tell it wouldn't be enough for them. The story that unfolds as they work towards thier happy ending makes this story a highly recommended read!
Lynn is my kind of girl. Independent and sassy, a woman who knows what she wants and is not afraid to go for it.
And Isaac... oh, Isaac. He's the strong, silent type but his mind is filthy AF. Definitely swoon worthy. Definitely book boyfriend material.
If you're looking for a story that makes you smile while reading, a story that gives you all the feels, then check out this spicy small town romance.
Ashley Kay did a FABULOUS job of writing Isaac and Lynn's story. I loved the chemistry and the tension between the characters. I loved the way the author portrayed making the hard decisions because it's the right thing to do, not the easy thing. Lyn and smart and sassy and Isaac is everything that book boyfriends are supposed to be made of. It was a perfect continuation from Book 1 in the series.
I was so excited to get back to Montana and read more about Lynn. I adored her friendship with Savy in Denim Blues. Isaac is a man of few words but lord he did not need many to make me swoon over him! I loved how Ashley wrote their relationship. Such a surprise for both of them. The drama had me nervous to see how things were going go. I had tears in my eyes a few different times. Ashley’s writing kept me engaged and swooning until the very last words she wrote in the book. Highly recommend!
I loved this book. Isaac and Lynn have such great chemistry. There’s the perfect amount of spice, sweet, and drama to fill your cup. The descriptions are super poetic at times. And let’s not forget the pull the author had on my heart during that beginning. It’s a great book filled with twists you won’t expect coming!
Wildflower Ashley Kay first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. Loved the chemistry and relationship between the main characters. Storyline was interesting, which made this a page turner. Loved the ending, was beautiful ♥️
Oh Lynn and Isaac, I didn’t realize I would love characters in a book as much as I love them. They are a perfect match and their story is sweet, sexy and full of real love. This book is perfection!
How do you heal a broken heart? With one that knows the pain too.
A sweet and spicy romance that hits all the right notes. Beautifully written with characters that feel genuine and relatable. This is the first I've read from this author but won't be the last!
Okay I'm hooked😍Like I said in the 1st review I think I got recommended this author and her talented self from a very talented and 1 of my favorite authors😘 Now I'm on a journey to get to know this author and her works! looking forward to the next book!
Another sexy read from this amazing author! I was fortunate enough to see this in the early stages as a beta reader and watched it blossom into a wildflower no pun intended. This book packs a punch with the sassy Lynn who we met in book one Denim Blues (Savy’s best friend) and rough and tough but sexy as hell Issac. Together they take us on an adventure of what it means to love and sacrifice even when it’s the hardest decision to make. I loved this book so much along with its main characters! I can’t wait to see this book on my shelf and you are missing out if you choose to skip over this book! I highly recommend this book!
Wow! Wildflower, the 2nd book in the Montana Heirs series was, in a word, HOT!
Quiet,Viking-sized Mountain Man Isaac isn’t so quiet when he gets hit in the face with his attraction to firecracker Lynn. They can’t deny their pull toward each other for long but will the secrets he’s keeping break their new love apart? A deliciously steamy read with all the feels along the way! Go get it now!
🔥🔥🔥 this book was amazing!!!! Couldn’t put it down. All star!!!! Ms. Ashley Kay does not disappoint. This couple is so cute. I love the spice with flames wooo chile. This is a must-read. They definitely kept me on my toes the whole ride. Five stars. Can't wait for more books to come.
Probably the spiciest book in this series! But more than that it's about two people letting go of past hurt to find peace within themselves and each other!
