Can a Greek God make Jesse believe in love again?

Jesse's heartache is as vast as the Aegean Sea when his mother's sudden passing lures him back to the Greek island he swore never to return to. With bitterness festering over his mother’s abandonment, Jesse’s unprepared for the emotional maelstrom awaiting him.

Demetrios still carries the scars of a teenage love affair that once set his small-island life ablaze. Bound to Naxos by duty and drowning his sorrow in fleeting dalliances with tourists, he’s blindsided when Jesse, his stepbrother, returns for his mother’s funeral.

Jesse grapples with the pain of his mother’s choices and Demetrios struggles with the weight of familial expectations. But their undeniable chemistry reignites, challenging them to confront what happened before their romance crashed and burned.

Is it too late for Jesse and Demetrios to embrace what they long denied themselves? Or will fear of heartbreak keep them anchored in their past?

Greek God (Flying into Love #7)  is a stepbrothers-to-lovers, hurt/comfort, second chance standalone romance in the steamy MM Flying into Love series, featuring a shy and awkward illustrator who doesn’t believe in love and an enigmatic playboy oozing romance.

Brought up in a relatively small town in Hertfordshire, C F White managed to do what most other residents try to do and fail—leave.

She eventually settled for pie and mash, cockles and winkles and a bit of Knees Up Mother Brown to live in the East End of London; securing a job and creating a life, a home and a family.

She writes gritty British based stories about imperfect men falling in love against the odds and has been accused of sprinkling a bit of humour into them from time to time too.

This was such a well written second chance MM romance with plenty of hurt/comfort. I nearly teared up multiple times because of the grief, pining, and healing that happened throughout the book. I truly felt the love connection between the main characters.

Below is a passage from the book that sums up how compelling the narrative was for me:

Dropping his forehead onto Jesse’s, he shook. “Sorry, I just. . .” He peered into the once familiar blue eyes, watching him through the lenses of the broken glasses, like a damn metaphor for their relationship. Once rose-tinted, they were now chipped and scarred from the view of the past. “I’ve wanted this. . .you, for so long.”

“Right there with you.” Jesse raked his fingers through Demetrios’ hair and kissed him. “It’s why I don’t want it to be over too soon.”

After eight years, they meet again, not because Jesse chose to, but because of his mom’s funeral.
Demetrios, his stepbrother, can’t take his eyes off Jesse, it’s been so long.

“Wanna dance with somebody?”

You have to know they have a past together, known each other since they were 10 and 11.
Jesse and his parents spend their holidays at the little Greek island Naxos and even bought an apartment. For years Jesse and his mom were as much in Greece as possible.

My chest hurt what Demetrios and Jesse had been through.
They were in love, Jesse always hurried back to Naxos, to Demetrios.
But he was not the only one who fell in love, his mother did too… with Demetrios’ dad.

Can you imagine the heartache, the hurt, the choices…
Follow them on their path back to each other, dang it was impressive!

“ I’ve been in love with you for as long as I can remember. Time, space, it doesn’t heal it for me. It makes it harder”

The author writes hugely lively, emotional, and inspiring, the feelings are so strong and palpable.
If you have ever been to Greece you’ll remember the typical Greek scents, the view, the plants, and the sea.
It’s all written so realistic, you’ll find yourself there.
The build-up, alternating between present and past was excellently done. Bit by bit the whole puzzle got clear and gosh it was a journey of joy, heartache, and passion.
Jesse and Demetrios deserved to be happy, together! And thank goodness they did! At last!
Overall a beautifully written romance with all the feels.

Such an amazing book, set in Greece, an european paradise. Dem and Jesse met when they were 11 and 10 and become friends until Jesse's mother felt in love with Dem's father.
They stay apart until Jesse's mum died and he atends his funeral and see Dem again, now with 30.
Does the love between them remain the same or will the circumstances between their parents prevent passion?

I loved this book and recommend it to everybody who loves a good and steamy love story

A beautiful story of love and loss, Jesse and Demetrios were always destined to be together but life certainly threw up some curve balls.

CF White is a fantastic character writer and she really captures the emotions all characters were experiencing. I was totally lost in this story and loved every word.

I really enjoyed Jesse and Demetrios’s story. The miscommunication trope was strong with this one, but it honestly felt like a decent reason this time. Poor Jesse was so emotionally battered by his mom’s choices and his dad’s poisonous bitterness, he didn’t know what to believe. I can’t say I liked any of the selfish parents in this one, but I loved the two main characters. This book had moderate angst, a bit of heat, and an HEA.

CF White came up with a very emotional premise of reconnecting due to difficult circumstances and wrote a beautiful story on that foundation. The book is full of feels, including complicated ones and it's all very maturely and beautifully written.
I am a huge CF White fan and I absolutely adore the diversity of stories in this series. Each one is unique in its own right and Greek God is no exception. One of my favorites!
Audio: Perfect performance by Pierce Ryman. All the emotions were beautifully amplified by his voice acting skills.

This one hit me hard in the feels as I read it... I lost my Father In Law last week and watching Jesse's struggle with losing his mom and the lingering questions and pain really hit home for me, but it was the chemistry and redemption between Jesse and Demetrios that made me smile and gave me hope.

This was a beautiful story, with a good mix of steam, second chances and forgiveness and it fit perfectly into the Flying Into Love series.

I felt like a chapter was missing between the Jesse finding Demetrios to help with his dad's breakdown and Jesse agreeing to help with the restaurant because they just chatted like they were on good terms after that? Why wouldn't Jesse have been more angry since he literally just experienced Demetrios flirting-ish with some tourists who were inconsiderate? I feel like Jesse should've shut down further there rather than warm up.

Same exact thing happened when Jesse's dad came and was justifiably angry about things. Idk why we saw that from Demetrios' POV when Jesse was the one who calmed him down. We should've seen how his dad's words made him feel. Surely Jesse was also mad at Demetrios' family for what had transpired, no? Seeing that war inside him, of wanting his mom to be happy yet also hating that her happiness meant breaking their family would've been great tension but instead we get Demetrios just waiting for Jesse to come out then they go dancing? Wtf? I guess it makes sense because we know Jesse's a guy who hides from negative feelings by making bad decisions (aka the start of the book) but I still didn't understand why he wasn't more neutral towards Demetrios.

I just feel like I missed something with how Jesse suddenly just kept on inching closer and closer to Demetrios despite everything pointing to him distancing himself. Like when Elias told him Demetrios was off screwing someone else? It was far fetched, sure considering what Demtrios had said, but he should've been more hurt at the idea since he literally did believe it. But then Jesse automagically believes Demetrios when they talk because why again? There hadn't been a big event that signaled a turning point in their dynamic in the story, instead the story and the way Jesse and Demetrios acted were incongruous. The story tells us that they're both hurting and that Jesse's conflicted over loving Demetrios and hating what him (and Greece in general) stood for since he was part of what broke his family, yet we never really see that conflict in their later interactions. It was fine at the start when Jesse was very avoidant, but then nothing happens and suddenly Jesse's all "need help at the restaurant?" or "take me dancing" or "spend time with me". Like, what exactly made him let go of the pain that was keeping them apart? I guess it was his mother's funeral? But if that was the case, then it needed to be emphasized that he let go of the pain then and there because for me, that moment seemed more like him regretting not speaking with his mom and not moving past what broke them in the first place.

And seeing how Jesse and Demtrios left things off the first time after Jesse's mom's wedding made things even more confusing because Jesse had been convinced and seen direct evidence that Demetrios wasn't in it for the long haul and he was just a fair weather lover in his eyes. Why hadn't we gotten more confusion from Jesse at the start of the novel about Demetrios' aptitude for faking feelings? Where the hell was the pain from that revelation when they met again? The way the start was written made it seem like Jesse never questioned Demetrios' feelings (until he did) when that concept came into being when Jesse's dad shouts it out in anger (then we suddenly get scenes showing us that Jesse had actually struggled with that in the past)

Having "We can't be together because your family ruined mine" and "I don't believe you truly love me" were two very strong emotional responses and I think the story should've just presented one, though it realistically couldn't even really do one to a convincing degree imo because it didn't give a good reason for why Jesse suddenly started acting like the prior reason was no longer keeping them apart and the latter comes and is developed later with no hint as to it being an issue until after it's been stated (when it really should've been an issue from the start considering their initial breakup)

My opinion of their emotional separation the subsequent reconciliation suffered from the fact that I just didn't see why Jesse forgave Demetrios in the first place. Yes, Demetrios was sweet and cordial, and yeah they had history, but nothing he did really seemed like it was significant enough to shift Jesse's nearly decade long perception that:
1. Demetrios' family ruined his and his dad's life
2. (The bigger of the two given how things ended between them the first time) Jesse couldn't trust Demetrios' feelings as genuine. Though, this the story does a decent job of making clear that Demetrios was honest, my issue with it comes from it absence earlier in the book.

I'm rating this a 2.5 rounded up because there was good emotion here, but the fundamental parts of the story just didn't line up for me.

Don't judge the book by the cover.
Tags: 5 stars +, riveting, immersive, heartfelt, emotional, moving, uplifting, heartwrenching, vivid and vibrant writing, third person POV, nonlinear narrative, no cliffhanger.
I expected yet another simple, happy-to-go holiday love-themed romance. Instead, I discovered this amazing, profound, heartwrenching, and heartwarming story about rebuilding shattered dreams. The story follows Jesse and Demetrios on their journey from childhood friendship, through a teenage crush, heartbreak, and loss to, finally, finding the strength and courage to risk everything and jump from a cliff into the unknown, hoping to find their long-lost love.
Besides the dynamic, masterfully crafted story with a nonlinear narrative and deep, emotional insight into the characters, this novel is worth reading for its excellent writing alone. The vibrant narrative paints a beautiful, heartfelt, and mesmerizing image of pure love, transcending years of obstacles, fears, loss, and misunderstandings. The author has created a genuine story that resonates deeply by exploring the conflicting and raw emotions of hurt, passion, hope, anger, regret, forgiveness, understanding, and pure love.
I inhaled the novel in one go. I got so deeply immersed in Jesse and Demetrios's world and the labyrinth of crushing emotions, sadness and happiness, tenderness and sharp edges of life that it was impossible to put the book down. It is an excellent choice for readers who enjoy emotionally intense yet heartwarming stories, written and crafted in an eloquent, profound, and vibrant manner.
What to Expect:
A masterfully crafted and written novel, a page-turner, with dynamic and immersive storytelling, raw and honest emotions, nonlinear narrative, third person POV, lovable characters, and an uplifting and heartwrenching narrative.
What Not to Expect:
A typical, easy-to-read and forget, happy-to-go romance narrative or dark drama with high angst, suspense, mystery, and complex and flawed characters.
Disclaimer: I received an ARC of this book. This review is an independent and genuine reflection of my thoughts.

'Greek God' (Flying Into Love, book #7) by CF White

This is not one of those fluffy beach-book romances. It's much more serious, encompassing heartbreak, betrayal, lies, cheating and death of a parent (two really, although one is in distant past).

That said, I liked the storyline, even though there were times (several) where I just wanted to grab a boot to throw at someone (several people, actually), to whack them upside their head for acting SO effing stupidly!

There seemed to be a great deal of mis-communication and lack-of-trust issues in here...between parents, between friends and lovers, between parents and their children, especially Jesse's father, who was quite horrid throughout the storyline! I really didn't care for him nor his attitude and his selfishness, at all!

Jeez, pretty much everyone in here acted like a real idiot, much of the time!

However, I did like the sweet (and ultimately steamy) connection between our MCs; kinda off the charts (in a good way)! Yeah, obvious that they cared about each other. And I loved how much they connected with each other, starting from when they were 10 and 11 years old and met for the first time on this beautiful Greek island...one British boy on holiday with his parents, one Greek boy who lived there with his family who ran a local taverna.

Where things went off-the-rails was with both Jesse and Demetrios, was both of them giving too much credence and power to other people's opinions... opinions about each one of themselves and also about the other boy and his family, in this duel-family storyline. It really sucked that over the years they both caved in and put everyone else's needs before their own, engendering fierce heartbreaks!

I guess, when you're a kid, you tend to believe what your parents tell you, until you get older and discover how lop-sided and untrue a bunch of the "truths" they told you turned out to be lies or just wrong-thinking and prejudiced opinions.

Welp, so far I've read three books in this series, including the Irish one ('Irish Charm', which was great)...I started in the middle of this series basically and have a couple more slated to read. So, yes, I liked them all enough to keep reading more (grin).

Note: in the books I've read so far there is quite a bit of angst, and readers may want to check Trigger Warnings for each book. That said, the books are engaging, keeping my interest up all the way through.

Second Chances are worth taking (an audio)

Wow, what a great story! I love CF White and the Flying into Love is quickly becoming one of my favorite series. This story takes Londoner Jesse to Greece for his mother’s funeral. In doing this, he has to confront his past. He made choices all those years ago and he’s certainly come to regret some – like never reconciling with his mother. He also hasn’t dealt with others – like walking away from his first love.

The book starts with Jesse waking up from a hangover, with a stranger in his bed, no memory of how the bloke got there, and already late for the airport. Then he steps on his designer frames and shatters the lenses of his glasses. I might not relate to most of that – but stepping on glasses hit home for me.

Jesse’s expecting someone to join him at the airport. Instead, he’s sitting next to an empty seat. Thus begins his heartache anew.

Demetrios – Deme – has lost his step-mother. But his grief is nothing compared to Jesse’s pain as he lost his estranged mother. That being said, Deme is confused about his feelings when Jesse shows up for the funeral. Jesse was his first – first kiss, first fumble…first love. But forces beyond their control yanked them apart just as they were coming together. All this time has passed, but Deme feels the same attraction he always has.

Those outside forces haven’t necessarily gone away. Jesse’s still got a bitter father. Deme’s father isn’t thrilled about the young men rekindling their relationship again either. So the question is – are these guys strong enough to overcome such strident familial objections? Can they be more than a fling? Especially given Jesse’s pain. Are they going to get a second chance at love?

I’ll leave it up to listeners to discover for themselves. Except it’s a CF White romance. With all her Flying into Love books, it’s more a question of where rather than if. This was another book that caught me off guard with its ending. And I love that.

Piers Ryman is an exceptional narrator and he did a bang-up job of bringing this great book to life. I hope he and CF have many more projects to come!

Gorgeously written, really. I've never been to Greece, and I feel as if I've been there. I sure do want to go to Naxos! If you're okay with a bit—well, more than a bit—of angst, go for it!

I had a hard time warming up to Jesse, who spent a whole lot of time feeling sorry for himself, pretty much throughout, and ghosted people who loved him. Demetrios was a doll who continually got the short end of the stick. Thank goodness he got his HEA in the end.

Angst-heavy by my standards (to be fair, I'm a wimp). The entire thing was set in the context of a death in the family, with heavy and difficult family relationships. I actually don't mind external angst at all. But the MC's relationship was also heavily angst-ridden, with poor communication and the inevitable misunderstandings, with little to no lighter times, except in the flashbacks, which to me can't be enjoyed because you know tragedy will follow. To be fair, I don't enjoy the second-chance trope when it includes many flashbacks. I'm okay with flashbacks if there aren't too many and when the rest of the romance proceeds as most non-second chances romances do, but this one was really heavy on focusing on the past. Not with a ton of flashbacks, but with the MCs focusing on them. Again, if you're a person who enjoys angst, you'll probably love this!

But I believe in rating a book on its merits even if it wasn't my cup of tea, so I gave Greek God the four stars it deserves. I didn't think it deserved a five, because the miscommunications and missed opportunities were so frequent and often not credible to me.

Audiobook: The narrator, Piers Ryman, is amazing in absolutely every respect, and I am really, really hard to please where narrators are concerned. I'll be looking for more of his work. The entire series is available as a set on Audible, so you get eight books for the price of one!

This was such a heartbreaking second chance. I went into this thinking it was going to be a cute holiday romance only but man was I surprised. There is loss, grief, healing, love and so much more.

Jesse would vacation with his mom and dad in Greece during the summer as he was growing up. There he met Deme and his dad. There was an attraction between the two when they were teens and one summer things began to cross that line from friends to more. That is until Jesse announces something that rips, Jesse and Dem apart. Years pass with no communication before Jesse finds himself back in Greece after tragedy struck.

I loved watching these two fall back in love with each. There was definitely some bumps in the beginning while they were both working out their past feelings and betrayal. These two had to work hard for their HEA but that ending was absolutely perfect for them.

I loved Jesse and Demetrios’ story, with its wonderful characters and gorgeous scenery. They’re sweet together, and I felt frustrated along with them when their chance at an HEA keeps getting derailed by their parents.

I’m enjoying this series of contemporary romances in different settings. Naxos was very easy to visualise with the author’s wonderful descriptions, with not only the scenery but its inhabitants coming to life on page. I liked the differences between it and London, and Jess and Demetrios’ lives, although they’re both bound by family obligations.

I thought the author did a great job in shifting between the present and past to show Jesse and Demetrios’s relationship, from friendship as children growing into more when they got older, and how it all unravels. I felt for Jesse being sucked into his father’s perspective, and letting it become his truth, until he realises it isn’t. Demetrios is a sweetheart, although he’s made a few wrong choices along the way too, Elias being a huge one.

I loved the supporting cast, especially Jesse’s flatmate, and his aunt. His father has a lot to answer for. I liked how that part of the story was finally resolved although not without a lot of heartache and work.

The twist with Jesse’s online friend is nicely done, and I didn’t see it coming until just before he worked it out.

Their HEA is the perfect ending, and glimpse into their future.

ARC review of Greek God. 4.5 stars.

“An ancient Greek philosopher once said, ‘love is a beautiful flower thats springs from the root of friendship’.”

After the death if his mother, Jesse heads to the Greek island where she lived to say goodbye to her. Even though they had been estranged. Jesse used to go to the same island every year on holiday. His mom fell in love with a bar owner and stayed, much to Jesse’s dismay. While on holiday there Jesse fell in love with the son of the owner of the bar, Demetrios.

Demetrios runs a bar with his dad and late step-mother (Jesse’s mum). When he sees Jesse back on the island, old feelings resurface.

Jesse and Dem fell for each other when they were younger, way before they became step-brothers. Could this be the second chance they need at love.

This is my first C F White book i have read. I enjoyed the way the landscape was described, i could easily imagine me sitting in the bar having a cocktail or two. The writing flowed well and i liked the characters (Elias, not so much). I will read the others in the ‘Flying into Love’ series.
My only criticism is it is in the third person point of view and i prefer first person. Other than that i loved it.

“In love, as in…?”.
“In love. Infatuated. My heart belongs to him. Not like a brother. Like a lover”.

If you want a sorta second chance mm (bi/gay) romance with a hea set in mostly sunny Greece this is the one to read. It is part of the 'Flying' into love series, which consists of stand-alone books.

'Jesse waited a moment, gazing at Demetrios through broken glasses, and Demetrios staring back through a broken heart.'

I loved Demetrios his tender heart throughout; almost to caring to his own detriment. Becoming the sterotypical Greek adonis on the outside after having lost his love.

Seeing Jesse for the first time as a child, knowing he is special to him. Building friendship and recognizing the one to love in the other in their late teens and Having it all ripped away by grown ups who act as children and being put in the middle and loosing their loved one just as it was spoken out loud.

It was so good to see that this second time around Jesse and Demetrios did find a way to choose happiness, love and being together again after almost loosing it all again. Jesse coming to terms with chooses he made to stay away, which I partly understood but mostly not. B.t.w. I enjoyed how a small plot thing turned out to be something more and a significant gesture.

I kindly received a copy of this book by the author and leave my personal opinion about this book.

Greek God: Flying into Love #7 by CF White lives up to its title, with several of the characters flying by plane in the story. The book is primarily from Jesse’s POV. He is a Brit and makes a living illustrating books. His love from the past is Demetrious, who makes a living helping run his family’s taverna on the island of Naxos. Their joint past is told through flashbacks, starting with their first meeting when they are boys of 10 and 11. The flashbacks help to explain why the two have such a strong connection. It was frustrating to watch them try to reconnect (or not) in the present. They fail at talking about both their part and their present. Their relationship is made more difficult by both sets of parents, which become intermingled when Jesse’s mother divorces his father and marries Demetrious’s father. The author does a good job of depicting Jesse’s life in England and the customs and culture of ife on Naxos. As mentioned above, there is a lot of flying between England and Naxos, which eventually results in an ending that suits both Jesse and Demetrious. I received an advance review copy of the book via Booksprout and am leaving a review voluntarily.

A SECOND CHANCE FORBIDDEN ROMANCE!💕

“Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies.” — Aristotle

It started with two cute boys aged 11 and ten saying “Hey” on a Greek island beach and ended 7 years later in tears and heartbreak … Demetrius Kallis 18 and Jesse Hough 17.5 endured a heartbreak that lasted for nearly a decade until these two souls reconnected at Jesse’s moms funeral… in Naxos…

“WANNA DANCE WITH SOMEBODY?”

“Aegleia Beach, It was the place Jesse’s mum had fallen in love with. Then fallen in love in.”
“So had Jesse.”

Two beautiful souls were torn apart by the selfishness of adults, familial obligations and guilt but with the help of the Greek island Naxos’s magic, memories, patience, dancing, a secret cove and an unbreakable bond, their love will endure any obstacle in their way- even distance…

I loved their journey to finding each other again with lots of endearing moments and steam, as I love all the books of this series!

I voluntarily received an ARC from GRR and this is my honest opinion on this authors work.

Greek God by CF White was such a great story. Jesse and Demetrios have a very complicated and painful history. Jesse had been visiting Greece with his family since he was very young. He met Demetrios when they were 11 and built a solid relationship. The use of flashbacks was great here and really solidified that these two cared about each other. It was all great until Jesse’s mom left his father for Demetrios’s dad.

I can completely understand why Jesse felt conflicted and that he had to cut Dem out of his life due to his misplaced loyalty to his father. I was happy though when Jesse chose himself over his father’s bitterness and hatred. It made me sad that Jesse was never able to reconnect with his mom.

I could have done without all the talk of Dem’s conquests though. It got to be a bit much-lol. However, I was enthralled as I read this. I could not put it down. It was a super sweet second chance romance. The epilogue made me really happy as well. I’ll have to check out more books by this author.

I received an ARC from GRR for my honest review

A Joyfully Jay review.

4 stars

Greek God is part of C.F. White’s Flying into Love series, where a main character flies to a new location for their chance at love. This book is also more somber than some of the others. Jesse’s life became difficult quickly. His mother had an affair and moved to Greece, leaving Jesse with an alcoholic father. He was invited to stay in Greece, but he was so mad at his mother and the situation irrevocably severed their relationship.

The book deals with a lot of family issues and Jesse and Demetrios have a lot to navigate. The one thing that remains true is their love for each other and their desire to be together. There is just a lot to overcome.

This is the seventh book in the series and I still like to read about all the different locations, as the men find their way to love across the miles.

I thoroughly enjoyed Jesse and Demetrios’s story. The miscommunication trope was prominent here, but it felt justified given the circumstances. Jesse was emotionally battered by his mum’s questionable choices and his dad’s toxic bitterness, leaving him unsure of what to believe. The portrayal of his internal struggle was heart-wrenching and relatable.

The selfishness of Jesse's parents made them hard to like, but they added necessary tension to the story. In contrast, Jesse and Demetrios were deeply lovable characters whose journey kept me hooked from start to finish. Their relationship had a perfect balance of moderate angst and a touch of heat, making their path to happiness all the more satisfying.

Despite the obstacles, their love story unfolded beautifully, leading to a well-deserved HEA. The emotional depth of their journey, combined with their undeniable chemistry, made this book a memorable read. If you enjoy heartfelt romances with realistic challenges and a rewarding conclusion, Jesse and Demetrios’s story is a must-read.

I love heart tinges and ache and angst before their HEA. This is the ultimate forbidden trope it seems like step-brother to lovers, summer/vacation love, childhood friends to lovers, it’s all so good and complicated.

In short. I love this book. The slow burn was just the right amount of slow. It’s not without spice though, but for this book I don't need the spice, I’m here for their second chance love.

The story jumps back and forth from their past and to the present… so you’re kinda there living in these moments alongside the characters.

I also had to stop reading cuz I didn’t want their story to end. But also I needed to know what their HEA looked like.

Sigh. It was good.

“This is love, Jesse.” Demetrios squeezed his hand. “Me and you. How I feel about you is love. It’s not easy. It’s not hearts and flowers and dancing on the beach. That’s romance. And I can dish out romance. But I give you love. It’s messy. Temperamental. Hard fucking work most of the time. But it’s about being brave. Sacrificing parts of yourself to give to the other. And God, Jesse, it’s worth it. You’re worth it.”

Every new book in this series is as or more amazing than the others! Apart from the extreme wanderlust they fill me with, every new couple seems to steals my heart.
Dem and Jesse’s story is a wonderful second-chances (my favourite!) and they have so much history, so much baggage, and so many things that are apparently stuck against them, that it kind of seems impossible, at times to make it and finally be together. But don’t worry, love conquers all, and CF White always ensures her flawed but wonderful characters find their HEA with a writing style that keeps you glued to your kindle and eager to turn the next page. I must admit, though, that the author this time really outdid herself with the side characters, apart from Jesse and Demetrios, none of the others are really nice, and some (one…) are really unpleasant (at least until the epilogue), but these two make up for them with how sweet and hot they are together!

This series is such fun. I love the way that all the stories are so different. This one was a heart breaker.... there's a lot of loss in the story. Jesse's estranged mother has passed away and he's returning to Greece for the funeral. Jesse is traveling with a lot of hurt. He feels as though his mother chose her new family over him when she decided to make Greece her home. Tangled up with Jesse's confusion are the feelings that he has for his step-brother, Demetrios. They had, what amounted to, a summer fling...but it all ended abruptly.

Jesse's return to Greece for his mother's funeral begins to unravel all the work he's put in building protective walls around himself.

Beautiful story covering a lot of deep topics.

Epically intense! Jesse and his family vacationed in Greece since he was a child, and he and Demetrius grew close. Jesse and Demi grew feelings for each other, then it all exploded. There are a few miscommunications that create a chasm that lasts years. Jesse doesn't return to Greece until many years later when his Mother dies. The two have a chance to reconnect and maybe work through their problems. The parents threw complications that make their reconnection an uphill battle. You love Jesse and Demi from the beginning and you hurt and ache with them. The writer does an excellent job bringing the reader in and making us part of the story. This story brings all the emotions to the pages. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is such a fun series. I love the idea of the series, setting each romance in a new exotic and beautiful location. A real highlight for me are all the gorgeous descriptions of the Grecian landscape. The romance has a pretty emotional undertone, as Jesse’s mother’s life and death is a shadow over Deme, Jesse, and their surviving dads. I love a good stepbrother’s romance and this one is wonderfully messy and pretty beautiful as Deme and Jesse try to rebuild something new. I really enjoyed this, it’s my favorite of the series for sure. Great characters, beautiful setting, and a really lovely second chance for Deme and Jesse.

Step-brothers (Jesse's mother gets together with Demetrios' father, so no blood relation at all between them!)
second chance
wonderful Greek Island

This book is different than the other ones in the series.
It's not as lighthearted and happy. Instead we get a lot of heartache and loss, including grief about the death of a parent.
But nevertheless it was a great story, one I really enjoyed.
Demetrios and Jesse work hard for their new chance at love - especially after the past and connection they already shared.
So I was definitely rooting for them.

Likeable MCs, great setting and a pleasant writing style. Just the right amount of 'sadness' and heartbreak to make the whole story feel more realistic.

I enjoyed it and was entertained for a while.

Jesse and Demetrios ❤️

4.5 Stars ⭐️

Wow, this story is so emotional. It's such a bitter sweet love story that flashes back to the past and brings you right to the present so you get the entirety of everything that these two have been through with and without each other. Shew, there was much emotion and feeling that came off of these pages it will literally give you goosebumps. This author did a fantastic job with this story, the road to their hea was not an easy one but it was one beautiful ride. I absolutely loved it. I highly recommend this read.

There are almost too many emotions in this book. Demetrios and Jesse met as children and spent the next seven summers together on the Greek island of Naxos in the south Aegean Sea. When they were eighteen and seventeen their world imploded. Demetrios's father and Jesse's mother had an affair that ripped their families apart.
Now Jesse must return to Naxos to bury his mother. His bitter alcoholic father has bailed as his support system, and he is uncertain what he will find. Will Greece once again work her magic and bring Demetrios and Jesse back together or is it too late.

This is another great addition to the series, this story has more angst than some of the others and took me on an emotional rollercoaster as it covers some hard topics, this story was about Dem and Jesse who fell in love when they were young only for it to be ripped apart by circumstances out of their control and how over a decade later they meet again under while both struggling with different issues but are they brave enough and is their love strong enough to give them their hea second time around. Great story well worth a read.
