[This review is for the style of the Holy Bible: Modern English Version Thinline Reference Bible. Rather than review the contents of the Bible (I give that a 5 as well), I'm going to focus on the usability, layout, and style of this specific Bible. It seems that most Bible reviewers have strong opinions as to the contents, so I'm writing this style-review just in case someone out there is using goodreads to help figure out which Bible would suit their needs the best.]

This Bible is laid out with clear text, albeit with a bit small font size, and a nice balance between text and white space. The cross references are in between the two columns, which further adds more readability to the text. There are clear sectional titles that the reader can easily spot as they scan the page. All told, this Bible has been thoughtfully designed to create a relaxing and helpful reading experience for the reader.

I've given up hoping that concordances in the backs of Bibles are going to be helpful, because 9 times out of 10 they don't have the verse I'm trying to find. I appreciate the attempt, but I'm always baffled at the publishers' choice of verses to include while leaving out some of the most famous verses containing that particular word. This Bible's concordance is no different, but I don't hold it against the publisher. The accompanying maps are not particularly helpful or well-designed. Clearly, the publisher focused their efforts on creating a highly readable text and helpful cross references rather than focusing on helpful extras. I would prefer they focus on creating a highly readable text, so I'm grateful the publisher chose to go down that road.

Easy to carry, easy to read, and with a highly readable translation, this Holy Bible: Modern English Version Thinline Reference Bible is one that I keep planning to carry and use frequently.

I have been really put at ease with the beauty of God's word written in an accurate and fresh way. It is a literal translation, so there isn't the interpretation than what you would receive if it was a transliteration of the text (basically when people put the Bible into their own words to make it simpler to understand).
