MEOMI is Vicki Wong and Michael Murphy. Vicki and Michael both write and illustrate the Octonauts books - although people tend to assume Vicki is the writer and Michael is the illustrator - this might be because of Michael's wavey hair.
Meomi enjoys spending their time making up silly stories, drinking tea, and drawing strange characters.
Meomi's artwork has been featured in numerous illustration and design books, while their art has appeared on a wide variety of merchandise worldwide. They are the designers of the beloved Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic mascots (Quatchi, Miga, Sumi and Mukmuk), and have created art for such clients as Google, Yo GabbaGabba, Chickadee Magazine, Electronic Arts, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and CBC4Kids.
This is great! The perfect companion book for Octonauts fans - compiling 50 of the creatures the Octonauts have encountered on the show, each encyclopedic page gives all the scientific details of the creatures plus quotes from the Octonauts, and my favorite "strange but true" facts! (I got a copy from the library so it did not have the stickers, but when my little one is older I might considering buying a copy for him for that added fun!)
The best children's book I have bought this year. For kids who like the Octonauts, this is awesome. This is a basic guide to marine wildlife as featured in the Octonauts. My daughter loves it. Each page is a different animal / creature complete with animated and real life pictures, a basic summary of what they are, a science box showing their scientific name, where they live in the world, how big they grow and what they eat, A world map to illustrate their living places, a fascinating fact and a report from an Octonaut. This is amazing and wonderful and we are reading it many times over and taking our time over it with a few creatures each night. My 4 year old can now say various scientific names of marine wildlife, knows random facts about all sorts of creatures - some of which I barely knew existed and loves it!! Only negative point - the book wasn't well made so the pages are falling out already but we will transfer them to a file to make it easier to read them over and over and use as a reference book.
