The New York Times bestselling author explores her most daring side yet in four novellas designed to take your breath away—including an all-new Mageverse novella...
Warning: “This [novella] will spontaneously combust.”*
In The Bloodslave, Angela Knight’s classic “must read…highly erotic” (*The Best Reviews) novella, a female mercenary comes under fire during a hunt. The beautiful, virginal, and very human Verica is captured by three hungry alpha vampires driven deliriously feral by her purity. But they desire more than her warm blood. They want her body, leaving Verica more vulnerable than ever before—and loving every minute of it.
Plus! Three all-new novellas of vampire romance by Angela Knight
By day, a romance author puts her fantasies to paper. Her nights are another story. The perfect alpha male—not quite human, and absolutely insatiable—is invading her dreams. And with each sleepless night, she wonders… Are they really only dreams? Then, when an alpha male vampire hunter sets his sights on a pair of vampire lovers, things don't work out quite the way he had in mind. Plus, Angela Knight introduces the Doms of the Round Table and a kinky circle of pleasure, pain, and power as she returns to her “sexy as hell” (Heroes and Heartbreakers) Mageverse world for a new twist on the Arthurian legend.
Quick & Dirty: A short erotic novel, and two erotic novellas…..
Opening Sentence: “The bald leather-clad man hauled the plump, pretty blond across his lap and flipped her short PVC skirt to reveal lacy stockings, a garter belt, and no panties at all.”
The Review:
Oath of Service is a short novel focusing on Morgana Le Fay and three knights, Percival, Cador and Merrick. Although the majority of the romance is between Morgana and Percival, both Cador and Merrick are involved as well. They are a team sent out to protect humanity from magical creatures. In this short story they are hunting what they believe to be a werewolf who has been eating girls. However, when they find that their foe is more dangerous than a normal werewolf, as a punishment Morgana must offer an Oath of Service to Percival. That’s when things get kinky…..
Be Careful what you wish for is a novella that deals with Amelia and her fantasies (sort of) about her two lovers Beau and Decker. After a wizard casts a spell on them they end up engaging in many threesomes.
The Bloodslave is set in the future and when Verica is captured by three vampires, things take a turn to the kinky…
I thought Oath of Service was really good, I have not read any of the Mageverse novels so it was my first experience with them. I don’t know if they are all like this or if this and the other stories were special just for this book. I thought it was a super interesting twist on Arthur, making all the males vampires and all the females from the legends witches. The author made other changes from the original legends, but all in all I was impressed, considering vampires are way over done for my tastes. They did get into bondage and multiple partners so if those things bother you I would not read any of the stories in this book.
The last two were short stories and not my favorite…they were all basically sexual with very little plot in either story. So if it had just been Oath of Service I probably would have thought more highly of this book, but don’t let my feelings deter you. If bondage and vampires is something you enjoy or really are curious about, indulge yourself!
Notable Scene:
“She’d worked so hard to slay her demons. Yes it had been bad the first three or four decades, but as she’d put her first century behind her, she’d learned to ignore those black memories. She’d often gone years without thinking of either of them, though Mordred’s birthday could bring it all back. But then things had…changed. The last decade had been difficult one for Magekind as they’d found themselves fighting everything from demons, to dragons, to werewolves who were immune to magic.”
FTC Advisory: Berkley/Penguin provided me with a copy of Love Bites. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review.
I am returning to one of my oldie favourite authors. Ms. Knight brings to us deliciously kinky story in Oath of Service. Wow. This story set in the Mageverse is right up my alley. Morgana le Fay is one icy cold witch who keeps her submissive tendencies under lock and key. It is impressive she's been able to keep it suppressed for 15 centuries. Because honestly, being around alpha dominant males would make me melt into a puddle. Morgana is made of sterner stuff and she uses her magic to jolt the three men she is closest too whenever they get lippy with her. Morgana has issues. I mean, issues that I would recommend her to take time and evaluate. It seems she has past trauma she has held on to for over 15 centuries. Talk about epic self-flagellation! When she finally looses it on one of their missions, she receives an ultimatum from King Arthur. She must pledge an oath of service to Percival. What is this oath of service? Hmmmm, basically she is food and sex, servicing Percival as if he was her master. Did it just get hot in here?
The sexual tension in here is hot. The kinky factor made me cream in my knickers. This is more reminiscent of Ms. Knight's Bodice Ripper stories back in the late 1990s. I definitely enjoyed this erotic tale of punishment mixed with a dollop of revenge. I have to say, Morgana earned this bit of punishment and it is so good. Reminds me of why I loved Ms. Knights books.
The second story, be careful of what you wish for is short, sexy and hawt. The dub-con menage is well written. It is a faster story with less character development so it didn't arouse me as much as the first. It is still a lovely piece of erotica.
The last one, I've read years ago. The Blood Slave was a story Ms. Knight sent me years ago when I first joined her yahoo! group. It is as erotic today as it was when I first read it. What I like about this story is the undercurrents of BDSM without calling it BDSM. This kinky space opera with three male vampires thirsty for blood from the source is tightly written with smoking hot sex scenes. Plus the concept of being a blood slave is highly appealing to me.
This collection of three stories are all wonderfully written bursting with kinky goodness. Highly recommended for PNR readers who need a little more spice to their sex.
More of a 3.5, because this really isn't my bag but hey, if you're into kink... I mean, the first one is a pretty decent story. It's also well over half the book.
As to why I read it? The first story.
Ya know, most authors, when they write a throw-away type installment in a series, do it with some random couple nobody cares about. Here we're advised we can skip it because it doesn't actually bring anything to the Mageverse series but...it's Morgana le Fey - HBIC. You don't skip a main character. So we have her paired (laughs hysterically at that) with her team, which consists of Percival, Marroc and Cador, and if you don't know who those particular knights are, welcome to the club. She figures out their target is a dragon, and leaves the three on earth while she tries to take him on herself. They're pissed. Arther gives her a choice - be Percival's oath servant for a year and a day, or be reassigned. There's a lot of whips and chains, a dragon fight, and a foursome - not in that order. She's also a cliche - strong, bitchy female hiding secret fears and shames...and a submissive streak - and Percival and his buddies are just the knights to whip her into shape.
I did have a real complaint - it's stated that at least one of the previous couples has a third, but I sure don't recall any third wheels in the regular books.
Tale the second...just kinda ended but featured 3 vampires - a female, and the two males who want her...and also a random wizard with a nasty streak. It seems to exist for the sole purpose of giving the heroine the opportunity for a threesome with two guys who are jealous of each other. No idea what happens next, IOW, beyond said wizard being thoroughly cowed by the h who apparently wasn't put under a spell.
Tale the third...also just ended but that one made me uncomfortable. The h is stranded on a planet, her family and the aliens who adopted her all killed off. She's captured by 3 vampires who manage to convince the aliens (different group) not to kill her so they can use her. The impression is that she *maybe* bonds with one of them but...
Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Vivacious Valkyrie - Marta: *Copy gifted in exchange for an honest review
I confess to loving the books by this author that are set in her Magaverse world and was so pleased that this anthology includes a full length story from there. This book also contains two very short stories as well and they have something in common, fangs and dominant men! These stories are hot and peppered with kinky sex, bondage and of course blood! Entertaining to read but not for those who only want a sweet romance as this book should come with a heat warning!
The first story "Oath of Service" features Morgana Le Fay, a witch who serves Arthur and his knights but she is a constant thorn in everyone's side. Indeed throughout the Magaverse series Morgana has been a character full of shades and she has always had her secrets . In this story we learn more of her past and some of the reasons for her harsh manipulative ways come to light. Morgana has always known that her feelings for Sir Percival could bring her to her knees but she's about to discover things about herself that she has never anticipated! Percival is a dominant male with fierce appetites and to have the tasty Morgana under his control is a heady rush that he cannot resist.
The second was a very short story "Be Careful What You Wish For" and features a trio of vampires who set out to rescue a damsel in distress but unfortunately there's an evil wizard at work and he plays dirty! As this is very short I cannot really give much away but I will say it continues with the sexy vampire theme that runs throughout this book and unfortunately for this reader was the weakest offering. It's quite an abrupt beginning and I personally didn't really connect with any of the characters but given the length that's not surprising.
The final short story is " The Bloodslave" a futuristic piece that has three vampires getting their hands on a human female. These hungry (in so many ways!) males cannot believe their luck when they find the virgin human Verica alone and so very far from home . She's their captive but is she about to turn the tables on them? I really enjoyed this story as it's got my favourite kind of hero, strong sexy definitely alpha and yet open to new possibilities. Although a novella there's insight into the characters which really helps hold the readers attention. Loved it!
Angela Knight is one of the most consistent authors around. Her books are plot driven with twists that leave her readers gasping. This book scorches with her own unique brand of sensuality although those readers who do not enjoy the more kinky aspects of BDSM may find this not their particular cup of tea! It's quite mild so please don't be put off and remember it's just an excuse to wallow in the fantasy of those lovely dominant men! Hot is a word too often used I feel, combustible seems more fitting! A must read for Angela Knight fans and a sneak peak at the end of her next book! Fabulous stuff!
The stories in this anthology get progressively hotter. The first story, Oath of Service, is part of her popular Mageverse series, a series I’ve followed since the beginning. They’ve always been a bit spicier than most mainstream. This anthology takes that spicy and ramps it up to erotic. I really loved this novella, it was very sexy and kinky.
Morgana la Fay has avoided being alone with Percival for years, he’s the one man she’d happily submit to. When things go wrong, and she’s required to swear an oath of service to Percy or be reassigned to another team, she submits to him.
Percy and Morgana are meant to be, and his partners come in and spend some time in bed with Percy and Morgana. I enjoyed the menage between the four of them, and the love that blossoms between Percy and Morganna.
The next story, Be Careful What you Wish For, is a short story where two men who both lust after the same vampiress, find themselves in the situation that allows them to follow through on their lust. It’s a quick and hot story. I really enjoyed the story and I wouldn’t mind seeing these three again.
The last story, is a Sci-Fi vampire short and it has the feel of old bodice rippers. The heroine, is kidnapped by the vampires and enticed to become their bloodslave. That’s a human that becomes part vampire and it allows her to feed the vampires that are part of her group. Bloodslave is probably the steamiest and most erotic story in the set. It was the shortest story and was a quick steamy romp, with lots of BDSM elements.
Overall, I really enjoyed seeing the erotic side of Angela Knight. Especially the longer Mageverse novella, I loved that I got Morgana’s story and that it was an erotic romance. The other short stories were also good, and I recommend this anthology.
These three fantastically erotic paranormal romance stories take the reader’s breath away. Angela Knight’s stories always spark the imagination and take readers on fantastic adventures full of excitement and red hot passion and these three are no exception. Oath of Service is the main story in the book, which is why most of my review is focused on it and while the other two stories are short, all three are enjoyable and entertaining must reads.
Love Bites is an anthology of three vampire stories that are laced with BDSM elements. The three stories are Oath of Service, Be Careful What You Wish For, and Bloodslave. Oath of Service is part of the Mageverse stories, while Be Careful is a never before published work, and Bloodslave was previously published in another book. And just to keep it interesting, a sample chapter of Ms. Knight’s newest book is included at the end (consider it an appetizer).
I will start with Oath of Service. It should have been titled “Morgana Gets Her Comeuppance.” This is the story of the infamous Morgana le Fey, the much maligned witch of Arthurian legend. Though in all the previous Mageverse books, Morgana loves to wear the bitch pants, she secretly desires to be dominated by none other than Sir Percival of the Knights of the Round Table. Sir Percival has also lusted after Morgana for hundreds of years and he finally gets to put her in her place, collared by her own oath, and at the mercy of Percival and his two friends. So let it be noted that this has M/F/M/M action going down (ha, pun intended).
What I like about this story is the continuation of the Mageverse thread and it can be a standalone story for those who are not familiar with the series. However, I will forewarn that this is a much darker Mageverse story than the previous stories. In fact, Ms. Knight also writes an introduction to the story that warns the reader that this is a BDSM story and if this is not what you are into, then it may be too intense for you. What I also like is that though this is a BDSM story, it is also very much a love story. What I do dislike is that this was a much darker BDSM story than what I expected, even with the author’s heads-up. I have read stories with bondage before, but the sadomasochism is a bit much even for me. I personally do not find humiliation sexy. But more power to you, if that flips your switch. Is this story a good read? Of course it is. Ms. Knight pretty much always delivers a good story. It is just that this one comes with a rated R instead of a PG rating. This makes this book an adult only read.
Be Careful What You Wish For was more my ideal story of BDSM. It is the story of three vampires: Decker, Beau, and Amanda. Amanda is the lucky vamp that gets to partner up with Decker and Beau, but only singularly. Beau and Decker are actually enemies. They cannot stand each other. The only thing these two have in common is Amanda. So what is this story about? All three vampires come to the rescue of a girl who is being stalked by a warlock that has trouble accepting rejection. The girl is not sexually interested in the warlock, so he decides to curse her for eternity as a werewolf. The three vampires are in a race against the clock to stop the curse from being placed. The price for their interference is a spell that causes a little bit of mischief, mischief of the M/F/M kind.
I liked this story better than the previous story because it had lighter BDSM tones. The story was a quick, good read that didn’t leave you disappointed in the balance of sexy and plot. I did not like the ending of the story when it came to the dealing of the warlock. I felt he deserved so much more punishment than what was given to him. It felt like he got a slap on the wrist to me. I would have liked his punishment to be more in line with the crimes that he committed. It is just a small point to dislike, but it really stuck with me.
Last but not least, Bloodslave is the story of a human captured by not one, but three, horny and hungry male vampires. When they realize that Verica (the heroine) is a virgin, well let’s just say she doesn’t remain one for long. The leader of the fanged tooth trio, Julian, decides to make Verica a bloodslave. A bloodslave is a nearly immortal human that is not blood dependent. The purpose of the bloodslave is to sexually please and feed his/her master(s).
If you like M/F/M/M action, then you hit the jackpot. I like this story the second best out of this anthology. It has moments of non-consensual acts, but that is an integral part of the story. It isn’t a rape story: it is a story about a person that initially does not want to be a part of the act, but is seduced into participating. I liked that it was a quick, sexy read, but at times I did not like it because certain aspects actually made me uncomfortable. The scene where it is decided who gets to take her virginity was not my favorite. The characters basically play cards to decide who gets to do it. I could have done without this scene.
Overall, Ms. Knight delivers a good solid read. The book is a bargain for those that like quick reads and are really into the BDSM lifestyle. Why 3 out of 5 stars if it was a good read? I had to subtract a few stars for the issues that I had (warlock’s punishment and the card game scene). If you are someone that can overlook these small items, then it is a 5 star read.

Angela Knight takes readers back to the mageverse in her latest anthology. Love Bites not only contains a full length story set in the mageverse, but two shorts and a preview of Knight's next book. This one is full of erotic moments that go from the staid and honorable to the more kinky side of BDSM and are not for the faint of heart. If the reader is looking for strong alpha male characters who are not afraid of their own sexuality, then these vampires might suit the bill. But if it's a sweet and lovable happy-ever-after that the reader wants, they might want to keep on trucking!
What I liked:
The mageverse series is basically the King Arthur legend on steroids. Not only are Arthur and Gwen vampires, but so are rest of the knights of the round table. Being a history buff and this being one of my favorite legends, predisposed me to liking this series very much. I wasn't sure in the beginning if I could put my love for history and the paranormal together and give it a chance, but once I did, I totally got into it. Now that the series has ended, I was very happy to see that Knight put a story in this anthology that would draw in mageverse readers.
"Oath of Service" focuses on Morgana le fey, one of my favorites from the actual legends. Knight has given her readers a character in Morgana that is strong, forthright and very passionate. I was interested to see where Knight would take that idea in this story. This is an erotic novel and readers should remember that as they read this one. It's pretty hot and heavy, I would say definitely hardcore BDSM. I certainly saw Sir Percival in a much different light in this one. As I said these stories are not for the faint of heart and if you are just dabbling in erotica you might be in for a bit of a shock. That's not to say that I didn't like it. I did, but I realize it would not suit everyone. If you like BDSM at it's most extreme it will absolutely appeal. The story did give a reader a much greater insight into Morgana's character and her reasons for her actions in the rest of the series. A very intense story!
"Careful What You Wish For" was too short to suit my tastes. I liked the idea of three vampires on a mission but thought there just wasn't enough time to explore their characters. Menage is definitely afoot here and that has an appeal all it's own. This one was strictly hot, kinky and sexy, with very little plot to hold it all together.
"Bloodslave", was interesting. Verica is a virgin and these vampires are literally beside themselves from wanting her. Her blood, her body, you name it, they want it. There was potential here and I thought Knight did a great job of bringing this one together.
What I didn't like:
It was a little too over the top sexual for me, but don't let that deter you, if that's what you are into because Angela Knight knows how to write erotica and this one will blow your socks off.
Bottom Line:
I am not often a fan of shorts because I need a little more story than I do sex to make erotica worth my while. And all three of these stories lean heavily on the sexual aspects of the book and less on the magic and the paranormal elements. I wanted more plot and less hanky-panky. But that's a preference of mine. This book will probably be very appealing to BDSM fans and of course Angela Knight fans.
My first dip into paranormal and boy did Love Bites deliver a “bite”! I’ve never been interested in any type of paranormal erotica, but Angela Knight has reeled me in! The novel is full of extremely erotic scenarios between a very alpha male vampires (and at times, add two more alphas!) and one extremely alpha male witch. The scenes are extremely steamy, but still have the underlying hint of attraction and love. The one thing I have always feared with reading paranormal novels was the potential absurdity of it. Angela Knight quickly eliminated that in this novel, with her characters acting, feeling, and loving, and just being as human as I am. The use of King Arthur references and myths throughout the novel, not only pulled me in, but had me researching as I went. To delve even more into the myths, then relate it to the book, made the book that much more intriguing. The reader is constantly vying for the characters to realize their true feelings through all the hott sex scenes, realizing their connections aren’t only in the bed room (or dungeon ;-) ). I very much wanted to combust at many parts in this novel!!
Definitely Angela Knight writing what she does best!
Explicit BDSM scenes. Explicit 3 and 4 way scenes. Girls who do EVERYTHING and Guys that want it ALL...
If you're not interested or uncomfortable with reading raw erotic scenes with multiple partners, whips, ties and restraints and with the last book a initially unwilling female participant this book REALLY isn't for you as there is nothing vanilla about the steamy scenes. Any fan of Angela Knight's will appreciate it. I especially enjoyed revisiting the Megaverse and finally getting Morgana and Percival's story (and what a kinky pair they are!)
The Megaverse story dominates this book at around 200 pages and for me was the only story with a point and a plot. It was also more erotic than the other a Megaverse books, but given who the protagonist is I expected that (naughty Magi!)
The other two were between 30-50 pages and pure set up for the sex scenes. To be honest those stories could have just dived straight into it and it wouldn't have been a loss.
Overall a hot and steamy read and pretty good if you want to try something a bit more adventurous without the commitment to a full book or series.

REVIEW: Wow! I loved this book and the many places it took me. This was my first taste of the Mageverse and it won’t be my last. Oath of Service was a BDSM fest woven nicely in with the fantasy world of dragons, vampires and magic. I liked the camaraderie of the characters and how they have fought to protect humans through the centuries. And the romance was flaming hot.
Be Careful What You Wish For was a fun short story of vampires on a mission. The fact that they fell into a ménage situation that was a bit swoon-worthy. Fun and quick and oh so hot.
The Bloodslave had me worried since I don’t go for futuristic novels but it didn’t take long for this short story to make me a believer. This was a BDSM based also and kept the flames stoked.
All in all, a very hot and steamy book aimed for the stout hearted. I loved it!

Whoooo baby! This book is HOT! We are talking VERY hot, S*E*X*Y! The novel contains a book of Morgana le Fay, head witch in the mageverse, and her team of three vampire warriors that keep the human race safe from monsters. When Morgana screws up a mission her team, which includes knight Lord Percival of the Arthurian legend, has had enough. They carry their complaint to King Arthur, head vampire, who tells Morgana she needs to learn humility and so condemns her to servitude to Percival who has had the hots for her for 1500 years. So begins a journey from which there is no escape from for Morgana and her Master. Included are 2 novellas, and I wouldn't have missed them for the world. One is about 3 vampires cursed by a wizard, oh yeah! And the last is The Bloodslave...more vampires and one angry little virgin. Who do you think will really win in this confrontation? LOL You'll just have to read to find out!

Angela Knight is one of those authors you can read over and over and never get enough. Her writing never gets boring or repetitive, and her characters are always new and unique. I love her stories and her writing because no matter what she is writing she puts her full talent into her work and lets her readers know that she's invested in the tale she is weaving. Her brilliance to create worlds and relationships so lush and so special they never cease to amaze me. Her love scenes are so hot and her couples are so combustible and whats more is that they flow together so naturally that her stories and characters come together beautifully. I always enjoy reading Angela's work and I always look forward to reading more in the future. Way to go and thank you Angela for writing yet another phenomenal book!
Single Author Anthology. Can be read as a stand-alone book, although it contains a story from the Megaverse.
The first story is a part of the Megaverse series with Morgana, Perceival, Marrok and Cador. Someone is eating human women from a nightclub in the human world, so Morgana and her team are called in. They will be thrown together in a whole new way due to a battle for the lives of two girls.
The second story is a short about Amanda and her two separate lovers. When a girl begs to be rescued from the wizard who enchanted her, the three are determined to defeat him.
The final tale is about Verica, a human on another planet, and the three vampires who have taken her captive.
All three stories have smokin' hot chemistry, so be sure to have a fan and some ice water handy.
I loved this anthology. The first story, Oath of Service, is in the Mageverse series. It goes an extra step further erotically into the realm of BDSM. Strong warning if this is not your thing. This was the longest of the three stories. The second story is "Be Careful What You Wish For". This is a cute little story that is not related to the Mageverse. Finally, the anthology finishes with "The Bloodslave". I actually thought this was the best story of all three. Even though it was short, it was intense, sexy and had an unexpected twist. I loved it.
It was good to finally get to Morgana's and for her and Percival to finally get it right, not that there is anything wrong with three on one or two on one for that matter, but there is always something extra sensual of getting it right with the ONE, really did enjoy the story. As for the other tales in the anthology, I found them to be quite interesting, yet I find I much prefer the stories and characters of the Mageverse. Happy reading
I normally like the slightly erotic stories that have supernatural characters from the current writers who have various mystery and horror series that are basically part of the 'cozy' genres. This one is way over the top. It was listed as a very erotic set of bondage / s&m / domination short stories. But is very more explicit and while I was not offended I found the tales of vampires / were etc just not that interesting.creatures /
The characters in these stories are very different than they are portrayed in the mageverse series. It's as though she had to fill them with angst and horror to make them interesting.
Angela Knight begins this anthology with a severe warning about the contents being even more X-rated than her previous works. She is if anything underselling it! She says: Be warned: this anthology is quite a bit hotter than my other Mageverse books. All three stories in Love Bites deal with themes of domination and submission, featuring bondage, spanking, and kinky sex. If you don’t like those things, you probably won’t like this book.
The main reason for my reading this is that it has a long novella about a major player in her Mageverse series. Despite her strong warning about it I still found myself numbed by the massive amounts of BDSM scenes since I don’t usually have any desire to read them. I only finished because I thought this story is likely to have continued effects on the Mageverse books since Morgana is such a major character. Otherwise for myself it was a case of getting through all of them in order to see the details that I think will figure into future story arcs.
It was just okay.... I've read other books with BDSM but, the humiliation aspect of that lifestyle is something I don't think I'll ever understand and that's okay. I just felt like there could have been so many other things that happened with Morgana and her vampire knights. I found myself frowning at the book a lot more than I expected...I didn't finish the other short stories in this anthology...I didn't want to risk reading similar stories with the other characters. I might finish it at another time or I might not but for now, this one goes back on the shelf.
I did not expect to like this book so much. I mean, the premise is over-the-top bananas! You've got shape-shifting vampires and witches. You've got BDSM. You've got vampires in space! But Knight pulled it off. A quick, fun read, spicy and intense, with gusty, bad-ass heroines. Fun!
