"Blown Away" is a perfect follow-up to the wild and stressful (though crazy fun) ride in "Twisted." At first it seems as though characters are settling into their roles and their relationships. Love and work (defending the natural as well as the supernatural worlds) are both deeply rewarding as well as exciting. But, as always, there are twists and turns that threaten even the strongest of bonds. As with all relationships, there are secrets and painful pasts that eventually must come to the surface. And, as a partner in those relationships, the reader gets the chance here to learn much more about some of the major characters, and the stories they have to tell are as surprising as they are moving. One of the other things I love about these books is the care Parness takes with her world-building. Though the Werewolves have been my least favorite society/group (so far), I was fascinated here by their culture and how differently one pack operated from another. And we also get to learn more about Faerie in terms of their attitude towards children and mating. I admit, I love this kind of thing! And though we've only gotten to see a little of the Demon society, I'm looking forward to learning more. Another great ride (and compelling read)!
