Faking After All: A Sweet Romantic Comedy

Rate this book
Pretend to be in love with the most obnoxious man alive? I’m up for the challenge.

Victoria

When a forbidden workplace romance goes south, I’m left scrambling to save my dignity and my job. In the process, I drop the name of a fake boyfriend—only the name I use isn’t fake. To put my money where my mouth is, I’m forced to ask grumpy Caleb Ellis to pretend to be my boyfriend until I can get a promotion and get the heck out of Dodge.

But executing this ruse is messier than I expected, especially since his sister seems to think we’re the real deal, and I find myself being roped into all sorts of Ellis family functions—including a celebrity wedding. In addition to finally feeling like I’m part of the family I never had, I also discover there’s more to my fake boyfriend than meets the eye.

Turns out, my heart may be in just as much jeopardy as my job. But it doesn’t matter—our contract has an expiration date. And I always uphold my contracts.

Caleb

When my sister’s uptight friend Victoria asks me to pretend to be her boyfriend to help save her job, I literally laugh in her face. We can’t stand each other, so there’s no way anyone would buy that. But then she promises to help me with my gym opening in return. Since she’s a proven marketing genius, and I’m in way over my head, I make the deal.

Only I didn’t expect that deal to involve her butting into every aspect of my life, my sister acting like I’ve found my soulmate, or a long list of fake dating rules—that’s right, rules—I’m supposed to follow. Which is getting harder by the day when I find myself feeling things for Victoria I never expected.

Whatever—I can ignore that and ride this out. Because she’s planning on leaving town for good, and I’m a no-strings-attached kind of guy. Everybody wins, right?

A fake-dating, enemies-to-lovers sweet romance with opposites attract vibes, hilarious banter, swoony kisses, and zero explicit content!

Victoria’s and Caleb’s Pretend Relationship . . .

This story was adorable! Victoria’s supervisor (her secret ex-boyfriend) pulled her off an important project and gave it to someone else who was, in fact, beneath her in rank and he reassigned Victoria to a low-level project instead. Victoria was the one who had helped Kelsey put the final proposal together that had impressed Will Jr’s father. And she needed that project so that his father, the CEO, would take greater notice of her work with her promotion at stake! Then he mentioned it would be best if she did not work directly with Janet – his NEW girlfriend! Ah, there’s the real reason! So Victoria told him she is seeing someone new so he would know she was over their breakup and not a threat to his new girlfriend. When he asks the name of the man she is dating, to avoid embarrassment, she needs a fake boyfriend in her plans because Will is certainly going to look him up to know he is real. So she gives him Caleb Ellis’ name, although the two of them do NOT get along! And her plan gets a bit more complicated. Oddly, her friend, Caleb’s sister, completely accepts their new relationship and begins including her in all the family activities! Being involved with him and his family like this, she starts to see him in a new way as they get to know each other. But they had made an agreement and she would not try to stay in his life. When her plan is accomplished, will she walk away?

Grumpy, obnoxious, musclehead Caleb at first laughs when his sister’s friend Victoria asks for a huge favor. They could never convince anyone that she was his girlfriend! But she has awesome marketing skills and would be willing to help him with his gym opening, so he gives in reluctantly to her offer. Soon she is involved in all his family’s activities, and his sister is thrilled at the two of them being a couple. So why is he beginning to feel real emotions for Victoria? It makes no sense! She won’t be sticking around, so it really doesn’t matter, right? But will he be able to let her walk out of his life now?

This is a cute and romantic opposites attract, fake dating romance. I have been looking forward to Caleb and Victoria's story since they were first introduced. They are so different, and I was curious how they would see past their differences.

Victoria and Caleb are both interesting characters with compelling and often relatable backstories. I felt for both of them - Caleb for the trauma he experienced when losing his parents, and Victoria for her relationship trauma and work strife. I also like that the story delves a little deeper into Caleb and by extension his sisters' past. It's clear that each was deeply affected by their parents' tragic accident, though Caleb hides his wounds well. I loved seeing Victoria break down those walls and help Caleb face some of his deepest fears that have held him back. Much to their surprise, Caleb and Victoria make a great team, and their relationship blurs the line between real and fake.

This is as fun and charming as the first two books in the series, and I love that Caleb's sisters and their partners have roles in the story. I adored their love stories, and it was great to see how their lives have progressed and changed. The whole series is charming, and I highly recommend it to readers of clean contemporary romance.

Well look at that! A fake dating book I actually enjoyed. It’s a miracle. This was so cute and it didn’t have any of the things that usually annoy me about fake dating. Usually fake dating is between two people that already have feelings for each other so it’s all just a ruse to get them closer to each other and then I have to read constant inner monologue about their suppressed attraction the entire time.

Victoria and Caleb didn’t have much of a relationship at all beforehand. They were just acquaintances and them fake dating is what helped them get to know each other and eventually fall for each other. I loved watching each of them open up to the other and move past their first impressions. It was so cute watching Caleb go from being annoyed with and put out by Victoria to slowly appreciating how great she is.

It did drag a bit at the end, but overall a quick and fun read.

This is an absolutely adorable story. Victoria wants a promotion that will take her to London. Her ex pushes her to throw out a name for a fake relationship. And that starts a heartfelt story filled with flirty banter, friendships, and letting someone see your insides and making room for love. Caleb is dreamy. Just loved it.

This is the third book of the series, but could be read by itself. Caleb has been around since the first book, but we get to meet Victoria in the second. It’s true enemies to lovers and I love the character growth associated with it. Both Caleb and Victoria let some things go, try new things, and set prejudices aside to work together.

Check this out if you like enemies to more, fake dating, or have read any of Cece Louise’s other RomComs.

Content: kisses only, parents died in a car accident (past), weather related trauma

Enemies to Lovers. Fake dating. Forced proximity. Best Friend's brother. Dual POV. Dating rules. Rain waterfall hike. Caught in a storm. Comforting. Caring. Player, flirt, charming hero. Uptight heroine. Grumpy sunshine. Opposites attract. Protective. No language. Just kisses.
THE SWOON YA'LL. This story is so sweet and cozy. Total comfort reads for me that I will read again and again! Highly recommend 🤌🏻💙

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Faking After All by Cece Louise has Victoria Fairchild enter a fake relationship with Caleb Ellis.

Can they not develop feelings for each other?

Victoria Fairchild
Victoria Fairchild has been gunning for a promotion to London so that she can get out of her sticky situation. She is an amazing character. Victoria has so much strength to make a poor judgment call work much better than she imagined. There is a lot to admire about Victoria, and I have to say that being with Caleb helps her out in so many ways. One significant way is getting out of her own head for a bit and making her see that even the bad parts she keeps hidden are good.

Caleb Ellis
Caleb Ellis is the middle Ellis child and the only boy. He definitely takes the moniker "there is more to him than meets the eye." Except in this book we learn a lot more about Caleb and why he is the way he is. At least Caleb has Victoria to keep him sane. Caleb definitely has growth as he isn't just a playboy-gym-obsessed guy, but he has layers to him that he only allows certain people to see. He is a much better person with Victoria around.

The Romance
At first glance, someone would think that Victoria Fairchild, a career-obsessed woman who is very organized, wouldn't be into Caleb Ellis, a gym-obsessed guy, and one would be correct. Victoria and Caleb only get together because of Victoria's genius idea to hire Caleb to be her fake boyfriend for Fulton Advertising advents only. These two quickly became my favorite out of the three couples already introduced in this series when they decided to go through the fake dating thing. They make for such a cute couple as well.

Five Stars
Faking After All by Cece Louise is the classic fake dating turns to feelings trope, and I'm all here for it. I loved how Ms. Louise wrote their relationship and how they became friends quickly once they had a goal in mind. This book has a lot to love, and I am obsessed with Ms. Louise's writing style. I am giving Faking After All by Cece Louise a five-star rating and recommending it to all romance readers.

Thank you for dropping by! I hope you enjoyed this review of Faking After All by Cece Louise.

Until the next time,

Karen Signature Faking After All

Happy Reading!

The last thing I needed was anyone noticing how affected I was by a silly forehead kiss. Although I knew it wasn’t just the kiss that had me flustered—it was everything about this day that, for some reason, had me drawn to Caleb’s touch like a cat to catnip.

“I’m talking about something real. What scares you?” I swallowed, staring back at her, and the answer came instantly. But I wasn’t about to say it. I couldn’t, even though the word was on the tip of my tongue. So simple, yet so explosive if I admitted it. You.

“Now I think you’re a graceful oaf.” “Yeah?” I cocked my brows. “Anything else?” “And kind of sweet.” Her eyes trailed behind my shoulders where the tulips I’d brought sat proudly in their vase. My heart swelled—it had been the right move. “I was going for ruggedly handsome, but I guess I’ll take sweet.”

In the end, none of the walls I’d put up had helped me one bit. Victoria had crashed through every one of them, prickly attitude, color-coded schedules, and all. There was nothing left for me to do to protect myself, because I didn’t even want to.

Reader’s Notes:

– this is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone

– this is told from Victoria & Caleb’s points of view

– Caleb’s parents passed away in a car accident when he was in high school

Review:

I’ve been anticipating this story since it was hinted at in Kelsey’s book and it completely blew my expectations out of the water! Victoria and Caleb had such great chemistry and I loved how they managed their fake relationship situation. I, of course, didn’t like Victoria’s ex at all nor the fact that he was having second thoughts about having broken up with her. However, he made it so both Victoria and Caleb needed to step up in their ‘relationship’ game and it made opportunities for Caleb to step in and be the knight in shining armor for Victoria. And (unrelated to the last point) I loved it when Victoria & Caleb accidentally got caught in the rain/storm. It was so sweet to see Victoria’s walls come down a bit and for Caleb to soften more towards her in that moment!

Summary:

Victoria just got out of a secret relationship with her boss and now it’s coming back to bite her. Because though he has moved on to another woman that he has a publicly known relationship with, he is determined to cut Victoria down and keep her from opportunities to advance her career. In an effort to negate some of his claims for why she can’t be on a particular project, Victoria name drops a fake boyfriend. But the name she gives is one that’s not only real, but completely unbelievable to anyone who knows both her and Caleb, the man who’s name she gave. Not that her boss is aware, but he might catch on that something is amiss if Victoria can’t get Caleb on board with her spur of the moment plan…

Caleb thinks that Victoria’s proposal is a joke, neither of them can stand each other, so why on earth would she think to use his name as a fake boyfriend in the first place? But when Victoria sweetens the pot with an offer to help him get his gym into working order to open, Caleb can’t get himself to say no. He’s way over his head with all the different logistics and paperwork needed. And besides, Victoria’s already planned out an end date for their ‘relationship’ and some rules for both of their sides so it’s really a win-win situation. It’s not like Caleb’s about to catch feelings or anything like that…

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is book 3 in the Happily Ever After All Series and can be read as a standalone, though I recommend reading the other two books as well to appreciate the characters, including the side ones, even more. Faking After All is told through Caleb and Victoria's pov and is a sweet fake dating romance.

After a failed relationship with her boss, Victoria is even more determined to continue to work hard and earn the promotion that will take her away from Dodge. When her ex wants to make difficult for her, Victoria is willing to do anything not to let him get to her - including pretending to date Caleb, her friend's brother and someone she doesn't get along with. As much as Victoria doesn't like him, Caleb doesn't care for her either and is shocked that she wants him to pretend to be her boyfriend. But, as he's thinking about launching his gym he knows that she can help him and it's a good deal for them both. As they pretend to date, it's easy for them to be themselves and really get to know each other making them wonder what a real relationship between them would be like.

Because they were opposites, Caleb and Victoria clashed and had a mutual dislike of each other. Victoria was someone who was focused and uptight, especially compared to Caleb who had a breezy attitude. Yet, underneath it all, they had caring hearts and showed each other that. So, their romance was a slow burn but their encounters made the wait worth it. I liked how even when they didn't have flattering opinions of each other they helped each other, even when it wasn't part of their contract. I liked how they were vulnerable with each other and began to appreciate the things about the other that they had misconceptions about. I liked seeing them become friends too. Their romance was a clean one consisting of kissing, that is more than a peck but not overly descriptive, and no cursing was used. Overall, this was a great installment to the series that both fans of the series and those who haven't ready any of the other books can enjoy. I look forward to reading the next one in the series.

What a wonderful book from a wonderful author! Cece’s series of happily ever after tracing the lives of
three siblings and their rocky road to their happily ever after is a series you need to get and read!!

This book is the third in the series and it concerns the brother of the siblings. The younger sisters friend at work has just had a break up with her boss at work and he is trying to get her fired from projects she has
been working on but she sees Kelsey and tells him she has a new boyfriend and it’s Kelsey’s brother. She approaches him with a proposition drawn up as a
contract that if he’ll be her fake boyfriend, she’ll help him get his gym ready to open.

It’s an enemies to friends and along the way to something more as they find that their preconceived
Ideas of each other are masked by what is hidden underneath their tough exterior! Along the way the jerk ex boyfriend boss of Victoria tries again and again to interfere in their lives until finally Caleb decides enough is enough.

I loved this story of how two people try to keep a fake
relationship a secret until it finally spills out. If there is something there, some chemistry, it will make itself known even if there are things each does that are annoying to the other. That is what the relationship is all about to try and work through them and see if they are things that can make or break a relationship.

I recommend not only this book but the other two books in this series as well! I know you’ll enjoy this series and when you read them, get Cece’s other series as well- it’s just as great!!

You will have found an author you’ll want to read for
a long long time! I know because I have!

I received an advanced reader’s addition from StoryOrigin for my review. Thank you to both the StoryOrigin and the author.

Although this is the final book in a three-book series, you do not have to read the previous books to follow the story. The diverse characters with superb dialogue make this story entertaining, interesting, humorous, and memorable. Victoria, a detail-oriented perfectionist, fake dates her best friend’s brother to make her former boss who dumped her jealous. However, Victoria has no idea how she is going to make the fake dating contract work with her best friend’s grumpy brother who is opening his own fitness studio. Their personalities and interests appear so opposite at first. That is until they get to know each other better. Little by little, through supporting each other’s interests, career/business goals and challenges, what was supposed to be fake grows into something unexpectedly more and very real for them both. With the threat of Victoria’s possible dream job and promotion all the way across the Atlantic Ocean in London, what they both know has become something more, may never be possible. With a cast of memorable characters, you will also fall in love with them all and root for a real happy ever after all, not a fake one! The second book in the series, “Perfect After All”, which follows some of the characters in this book, is also a wonderful happy ever after worth reading.

It took me a bit to get into this story, but eventually I came to really enjoy the characters and stories. Victoria was a pretty uptight character introduced in the previous book of this series, and she starts this book the same way. But it quickly becomes apparent that there is more to her as a character. This is your standard fake dating story with an added opposites attract theme thrown in for good measure. Nothing extraordinary here. But Cece Louise has created a sweet clean romance that works because she got me to CARE about Victoria and Caleb. I liked every layer of them that slowly got revealed. I like how they don't really make sense on paper as a couple, but in reality they just clicked. They seemed to know just what to say or do to help each other overcome their demons and be their best selves.

There was a moment when the obligatory blip happens where I thought I was going to get REALLY angry with the potential change in tone of the story. It seemed like Victoria was getting ready to make a super stupid mistake. But luckily things didn't quite roll in that direction, so I was allowed to totally enjoy the payoff moments of the story.

In short ... there is nothing unique about this story, but it is full of all sorts of sweet moments and a satisfying happily ever after. It is a great book to check out if you are looking for a nice sweet and clean romantic story. Four stars.

This is the third book of the Happily Ever After All series. I've read the previous two books and really enjoyed them and this one also did not disappoint. After a forbidden workplace romance doesn't end well, Victoria is desperate to save her job. In doing so, she invents a fake boyfriend, only the name she drops is not fake. Caleb is the grumpy brother of her best friend, and she can't stand him. But, her dignity and job are on the line and she asks him to do her this favor. Caleb thinks that's the most ridiculous thing, but when she offers to help with his gym opening, that's an offer he can't refuse because he really needs the help.
Throughout the course of their fake relationship, Victoria begins to really feel as if she's part of his family, something she never had before and somewhere along the way, real feelings start to develop. But they went into this with an expiration date, and they can't go back on their deal. Or can they?
This was such an adorablely fun enemies to more, fake dating story. Caleb and Victoria were so different from each other, yet fit so well together. Both were interesting characters that were realistic and relatable and I enjoyed watching their relationship develop and grow. A clean and charming story I am happy to have had the opportunity to read!

Favorite parts:
- On the Motorbike
- Rock Climbing
- Washing dishes
- The waterfall picnic
- Rainstorm
- text thread between Rob and Kelsey
- Caleb taking care of Victoria
- Tulips
- Restaurant food tasting
- Dancing
- Restaurant opening
- “Will you be my girlfriend?”

I loved this story! I loved the main characters and being able to see the other characters from the previous books in the series.

Caleb and Victoria are total opposites. Caleb is free going and Victoria is uptight and very structured. They are forced to spend time together as they form a fake relationship and because of this they learn that the other person is not quite who they thought they were.

I love the growth that we see with the main characters. I love how both Caleb and Victoria are vulnerable with each other and show each other aspects of their lives that they normally keep hidden.

This was such a good book with lots of banter and growth from the characters.

This is the third book in the Happily Ever After All series. It can be read as a stand alone.

Thanks to the author for the advanced copy. All thoughts are my own.

I was so excited to read another Ellis siblings story. Caleb has been the grumpy/protective brother from book one and I loved him finally getting the spotlight.

This is such a fun read with Victoria and Caleb posing in a fake relationship. And of course those never go as planned in romance. Especially, when trying to force to sworn enemies to get along.

I really like how the author pulled out the importance of honesty and didn't just brush over it. It really made the characters relatable as they struggled with hiding the truth and coming to find that only when we are honest with ourselves and others can we truly be free!

There is wonderful depth to both Victoria and Caleb, dealing with grief and perfection syndrome. I truly enjoyed how these two came to support each other and find exactly what they needed in the end, though they didn't realize that was what they wanted in the beginning!

If you are looking for a wonderful, romcom with enemies to more vibes and fake dating look no further! This is the third book in the series that can be a stand alone, but I found it particularly enjoyable reading them in order!!!

Happy Reading Friends😁

Fake Dating Delight-

Victoria is Kelsey’s best friend and boss. Caleb is her brother and new gym owner. When Victoria breaks up with the boss she was dating and needs a boyfriend to keep her job, she convinces Caleb to do it. They fight like cats and dogs. Opposites that don’t work as a couple. But slowly as they get to know each other, they become friends and their attraction turns into feelings. I like how Caleb makes Victoria step out of her comfort zone, like rock climbing or hill sprints. I like how Victoria supports his dream unconditionally and helps make his vision for the fun a reality. I like how close they get during the storm and after her accident. I would have like a little more time as a couple. It takes almost to the very end to get together. My favorite part is when Caleb find out Rob and Kelsey have a text thread of how Victoria murders him in increasingly gruesome ways. Killer dolphins, man eating plant. The carry over joke from the previous book made me laugh. Overall a good read.

This fake relationship story was really cute. And it is definitely an opposites attract trope. These two couldn't be more opposite but they balance each other out pretty well. And they successfully get what they need from the fake relationship as well as getting their happily ever after. I liked both Victoria and Caleb as well as the secondary characters that we've met in earlier books. It was fun to touch base with them again. I'm not usually a huge enemies to love trope lover but I enjoyed this one. They aren't horrible to each other and they leave off on the enemy part pretty quickly. The slime-ball in this story is really slimy and I was thrilled to see how that resolved. I've enjoyed this series and look forward to the next one as well.

What a cute, fun, fake dating romance!
I just knew at the end of Perfect After All, that Caleb & Victoria's story was going to an interesting one and I was so looking forward to it. I was NOT disappointed!
On the surface, they are polar opposites. So opposite that you would never think in a million years that they would get along. At. All. But looks can be deceiving, or should I say personas? They have their reasons why they put on a tough and brave exterior so no one will see the real them. And they are so good at it, they have even fooled themselves. I love how they slowly reveal their true selves as well, as the revelations they make, while fake dating each other.
This can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the series in order to get the full take on all the side characters but also to see how each couple meets. You'll thank me later.
I received an ARC courtesy of StoryOrigin and this is my honest, voluntary review.

I love this book!
It’s clean, funny, and very entertaining
After her job is threatened, Victoria makes a split decision to tell her boss/former boyfriend that she is dating Caleb Ellis. Who happens to be her co-worker and best friend’s older brother.
After her slip-up she is informed that Caleb AND Victoria’s presence is expected at many future work events.
Thing is - Victoria and Caleb are complete opposites.
Victoria is a planner and a little high maintenance.
Caleb is a brooding gym rat. And soo NOT a planner
Next step is convincing Caleb that their union is beneficial to him.
Being a marketing manager, Victoria offers to assist in getting word of mouth out of his gym.
A win-win.
Right?
Wrong.
If you want a hilarious, laugh out loud read about how opposites.attract and finding love in unexpected places, all with testosterone fueled encounters and risk being swooned-THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU

This is another great story in the Happily Ever After All series. Book #3 gives us the story of Caleb Ellis.

Caleb Ellis and Victoria Fairchild are opposites in every way, so why did Victoria tell her boss that Caleb is her new boyfriend? How can she keep up this lie to save her job and reputation when she can’t stand the sight of Caleb Ellis?

All Victoria sees in Caleb is a shallow fitness nut with commitment issues. What Victoria doesn’t know is that after a family tragedy, Caleb has locked his heart away in order to avoid the pain of loss.

All Caleb sees in Victoria is an uptight control freak who doesn’t know how to have any fun. What Caleb doesn’t know is that Victoria is desperate to be the opposite of her mother, which is why she’s obsessed with order and control.

When these two get together, there’s no telling what will happen. With delightful banter, hilarious situations, great chemistry, and touching moments, this best friend’s brother, fake dating, enemies to lovers story is not one to miss. I enjoyed seeing Melissa, Tucker, Rob, and Kelsey again and I can’t wait for Audrey and Jackson’s story.

I received an advance free copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

A great conclusion for the Ellis Siblings

After reading the first two Ellis siblings’ stories, I was eager to read Caleb’s HEA. Following the best friend’s brother, enemies-to-lovers, fake relationship trope, Victoria and Caleb had a lot of rocky and deeply-emotional moments. I loved that when they finally opened up to each other, it was almost seamless, and a surprise to each of them on how easy it to be the other’s biggest cheerleader. Of course, these plots aren’t complete without misinterpreting the other’s reaction to intimate moments, and having an antagonist to raise the stakes when it comes to revealing their true feelings (in this case, Victoria’s ex). This book is a great conclusion to the Ellis family storyline, starting with a huge loss, and ending in three beautiful HEA.

I found this a little slow to get going but overall, it was an enjoyable read.
Our main characters, Caleb and Victoria, enter into a fake relationship, one with clearly defined boundaries and obligations, and with them being such different people on the surface, it seems impossible for this to be believable.
However, the more time they spend with one another, the more they share, the more the feelings for the other grow.
I liked that the author took both characters on a journey of development where they both grew as people, and as we got to know them more, they became much more likeable characters. Couples from the previous books in the series were featured heavily but this can still read as a standalone and while having read the others would increase your enjoyment, it's not a necessity.

Faking After All
(ARC review) What a cute read! This is my first romantic comedy read (maybe ever), and it’s very well written. @cecelouise is a fantastic author. This is book number 3, so I’m definitely going to have to go read 1 and 2 to get the backstory of two of the other couples in this book.

Victoria Fairchild refuses to be cast aside and virtually kept from getting her so desired promotion.

Caleb Ellis has dreams of opening his gym, but is in desperate need of organizational help and time management.

Both Victoria and Caleb come with a past to explain their starkly contrasting personalities, showing that they’re more than their superficial exteriors. Aren’t we all? This journey that they embark on together will leave you smiling. 🤩

It’s a sweet story, kissing only, no foul language; full of humor, romance, understanding, and happily ever afters!

4.5⭐️ Opposites attract and fake dating done right! Victoria, the lover of all things schedules and Lyle the label maker, really gave Caleb a run for his money. His laid back approach to work and life was the perfect balance to her planned down to the minute, organized personality.
Watching their relationship grow from mere acquaintances to something more was such a delight. They slowly learned who the other person was, past their first impressions, by actually working and spending time together. Instead of already knowing who they were and having an insta-love connection.
It was so refreshing to have that relationship growth!
Caleb’s mental struggle from his parents accident was introduced and subsequently handled in such an open and respectful way.
The swoony kisses, closed door romance, and quick and witty banter, made me smile the whole way through.

I love this series. So glad I got to read Caleb and Victoria’s story. I love the whole fake dating thing and how enemies can become lovers. They are both great characters and their story is well developed and has some depths. Their relationship progressed in a natural way and felt very real. I just wished their first kiss was there sooner. It was great to see some characters again from the previous books, it’s always nice to know how their story progresses.
There was a hint for the 4th book and I cannot wait to read it!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Adorable fake dating romcom! I don’t always love the fake dating trope because sometimes the “is this really fake?” Pining gets old but CCe Louise found a perfect way around that by adding the enemies to lovers trope.

I loved Caleb & Victoria’s chemistry right from the beginning. They truly disliked each other so much and it made tue fake dating so much funnier as a result. This is a slow burn you won’t be able to put down and that ending will have you in the edge of your seat!

I’m loving this series, can’t wait for the next book.
This book is sweet & clean meaning it’s free of swearing and sexually explicit content.

An Adorable Workplace Romance

Victoria had been dating her boss in secret, until he wanted to start dating a woman from another branch of their company. Good riddance! When he tries to demote her to keep her from running into the other woman she reassures him that she’s moved on to, and names Caleb Ellis as her boyfriend. Only problem: Will knows who Caleb is, and he drives Victoria crazy. Can she really pretend to like him, and get him to agree to the scheme?

I loved the enemies to lovers banter in this one! Caleb and Victoria start as fire and ice, and I loved watching them melt together. I loved seeing the depth behind their actions.

I love this series so much, I could not put it down! I read all four books in three days and now cannot wait for #5. The characters are very endearing and the writing so well done! I really like them all, but if I had to pick a favorite, I think this would be the one. I love the enemies to loves story line. There were some laugh out loud moments in this book that I really enjoyed. If you are looking for a sweet, clean, well-paced romance, these are perfect for a relaxing weekend spent reading. I recommend starting with #1 to fully appreciate all of the character development. Hopefully #5 of this series will be out soon!

Caleb and Victoria

"love wasn’t a plan. It was a gift."

Amen to that!!

Like Kelsey, I don't lie very well. I hate keeping secrets and I hate secrets being kept from me. I would struggle greatly trying to carry on a fake relationship. It might be fun to be flirty with someone, but I, personally, couldn't pretend it wasn't what it really was.

Caleb and Victoria make a great team, though. From the start, there was clearly more between them than fake dating. Just think: they might not have ever realized their true feelings for one another if they hadn't attempted a fake relationship....
