The New York Times bestseller... a steamy new adult rock star romance!
Two years ago serious, sexy law student Malachi "Mal" Hunter broke wild child Adele Cavanaugh's heart. When Mal is thrown back into her life...and she meets Dorian Marshall, the bad boy lead singer of the Australian band Three Little Words, her analytical mind can't compete with her racing heart (and other body parts that pulse).
Three Little Words quickly becomes Two Hot Choices, but Adele doesn't know how to choose just one when they both help to ease her pain...and fuel so much pleasure.
Please note: this story also includes tattoos (hers), naughty touching (theirs), a cat named Humper, and brawling roller derby fun.
BONUS EDITION: This book was previously released in the Unraveled box set, but this version contains extra scenes guaranteed to steam up your e-reader!
(love story, new adult romance, contemporary romance, alpha males, heroes, sexy romance, bad boys, falling in love, college) 200 pages- 60 000 words
Lauren Hawkeye/ Lauren Jameson never imagined that she'd wind up telling stories for a living... though when she looks back, it's easy to see that she's the only one who is surprised. Always "the kid who read all the time", Lauren made up stories about her favorite characters once she'd finished a book... and once spent an entire year narrating her own life internally. No, really. But where she was just plain odd before publication, now she can at least claim to have an artistic temperament.
Lauren lives in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta, Canada with her husband, toddler, pit bull and idiot cat, though they do not live in an igloo, nor do they drive a dogsled. In her nonexistent spare time Lauren can be found knitting (her husband claims that her snobby yarn collection is exorbitant), reading anything she can get her hands on, or sweating her way through spin class. She loves to hear from her readers!
Several reviewers have said what I felt over this book. Mal and Adele worked and the storyline was developed and well written, the introduction of Dorian just didn't fit, Adele really came across as half hearted over this and Dorian's personality did not suit the 3some arrangement.
Felt for Mal, as again he is hurt by impulsive behaviour by Adele. I think if the story of Mal and Adele had been contiuned it would have been a better read.
It was like the author wanted to get in as many tropes as she could in one book; preppy college boys, rape, cyber bullying and small town gossip, rockers, over expectations by parents, BDSM, 3somes etc and it just didn't gel for me.
DNF @ 66%. I tried, God knows I did! While I enjoyed the way the main character's relationship with Mal developed, I don't think the author took her time to do the same with Dorian's. But the thing I hated the most is how wishy-washy she became once the book switched to present day. I don't care if you might be into two guys, you just don't fool around with both (that might be a spoiler!). Anyway, I know I am the minority here, since everyone is giving 5 stars to this book, but I was just not feeling it! I wanted some romance in the midst of steamy, erotic sex, but instead I just got promiscuity.
Once again, moving on to greener pastures and better books!
This book was picked for me to read in a pick it for me challenge. Two years ago serious, sexy law student Malachi "Mal" Hunter broke wild child Adele Cavanaugh's heart. When Mal is thrown back into her life and she meets Dorian Marshall, the bad boy lead singer of the Australian band Three Little Words. This was my first time reading this author and although I love reading menage for some reason I didn't really connect with the character's. The book left some unresolved issues, which I didn't like. This book was really well written. The sex scenes were ok I wish that they better, overall this story was just ok.
More story than I was expecting but the second half was nothing but erotica. At least the first 1/2 of the book had a storyline even if there were burn up the sheet moments.
This book completely surprised me. It started out as a cute read, and then all of a sudden the story just took off.
I was heartbroken at the thought of her having to pick one of the guys, they were both amazing, once I realized what was happening and she didn't have to choose, I was all
and those love scenes....
There were a few things that didn't 100% jive, but I was ok withover looking the small stuff for these characters.
I couldn't put it down. Finished it in one sitting. Loved the story, and loved the characters. To have a guy treat you the way she was treated is a dream! To bad we live in the real world. I would trade with Adele any time.
The story does have some very adult situations so be aware this is not PG-13. In the words of Damien "it's only a big deal if you let it"
I like the idea, but can't commit to the execution
The story was rather interesting and I liked the characters well enough. However, the writing was a little loose. I felt like there wasn't much development and the emotions were told to the reader rather than palpable. The relationships all jumped from point to point and the reader doesn't get to witness the changes. I was okay with this during the first part of the book, but when Mal and Adele reconnected, this exclusion seemed remiss considering the additional complications. The second half of the book had more editing errors and the writing got looser. That's where the author lost me as a reader. I like serials and series with cliffhangers, but the writing and story have to be worth the additional cost. After this first book, I can't see continuing this series and paying 3 dollars twice over for 200 pages and then the 80 page finale.
This was really, really good. One of the best menage books I have come across. I took off a star though 'cause its a continuation and I dislike that, but it really is a 5 star read. Mal and Dorian are so hot, each in perfectly different ways and Adele is so beautifully fucked up, but strong.
1.5 stars Originally read as part of the Unraveled bundle. An MFM erotic romance novella.
TW: past sexual assault/abuse
Mal and Adele’s second chance romance - except there’s now a third.
This was not good.
Adele doesn’t know the difference between a British and an Australian accent? Sorry how could you even mix them up?? Dorian’s “Aussie” POV is atrocious, whyyy is he saying Sheila nonstop. I get that Adele is meant to have a “connection” with both guys but 2 years where she seemingly hasn’t even felt a flicker of anything and now suddenly in one night she’s good to go twice?
Dorian is initially the one happy to introduce a non-standard set-up (although there had definitely been a little tension between him and Mal since their first meeting). Adele feels comfortable having sex again with Mal cus she knows him, he holds back and makes it about her pleasure… so the next day she fucks Dorian who she doesn’t know… hmm.
Author tried to tell a story but doesn’t really land, teases MFM to MMF storyline later. Dorian is meant to be dom (not heavily into the lifestyle itself) but that doesn’t really go anywhere. Sex scenes included: MF first - a little biting, grinding against his naked cock! dirty talk, bondage. MFM scenes included: eating her out, fingering her whilst the other holds her, mmc2 touches FMC clit/mmc1 cock. We sadly have some panty ripping in the wild!
Malechai Hunter is cookie cutter at best. He tries to live up to what his dad wants for him and so he has entered law school. Preppy, shy and studious, he has dedicated his time to studying and getting ahead.
Adele is unique, from the tattoo's that decorate her body to her vibrant personality. Studying to be a nurse, she never thought her world would be rocked by this preppy.
The differences soon collide in that Adele's insecurities flair and Malechai is too weak to push against the societal norms in front of him. Before it is too late, he makes his attempt to apologize, but misses his chance.
Fast forward two years and we are face to face with hot musician Dorian. He is dominant and has a kinky streak. He is all about control and submission. How will Adele fit into that? And what happens when Adele learns that the hot alpha she is after is now rooming with the love of her life? How is she going to be able to choose? Will either man wait?
Adele is a fighter in this book, even though there are things that happen to her that should break her spirit, she continues to fight. Malechai realizes his strength too late in the game and has to fight for what he wants. Dorian is this sexy aussie musician that you just want to take against every surface you can find. Lauren Hawkeye has a way of making each character an individual and making you fall in love with them. She drafts such heated scenes that you find yourself running to a fan or jumping your significant other. The one thing that stuck in my craw with this book was a portion where after two years of abstinence, Adele has her first climax. About seven pages later she has her second, and it read "her first climax in two years". It did not necessarily take away from the story but created an annoyance for me that I cannot get rid of. I still rate the book 5 fangs.
This is the first part of a 2 part series containing the love triangle of Mal, Adele and Dorian. Mal and Adele meet in college and have a relationship. When heartbreak ensues they go there separate ways only to meet again 2 years later. Only now there is a new man in town, Dorian, and he is interested in Adele too. Only time will tell what the future holds for these three.
This was quite a spicy little tale! Adele is a quirky, no nonsense gal - sure of herself and of her interest in Mal. Mal is from the other side of the tracks, the rich side and while being with Adele may suit him on a personal level, he knows that she doesn't really fit in with his crowd. When circumstances split them up and reunite them later, Adele isn't ready to forgive - and now there is the new man on the scene. Dorian is handsome, flirty and knows he wants Adele in his bed. The sex scenes in this book are pure chemistry - Adele and Mal, Adele and Dorian - and suddenly a little ménage action too, as Mal and Dorian realize that sharing Adele may be the solution to their problem. Adele is all for trying out this new arrangement. There is no cliffhanger ending but rather just a status quo of the three of them determined to give this unique relationship a try. I can't wait to see what the author has planned for them in book 2! If you like a little angst, some hot sex, handsome heroes and a feisty heroine you will enjoy this book! 5 stars!
I received an ARC of the second book "Kiss Me Twice" and thought I should read the first book before I started on the second. I loved Adele and Mal's story of young love separated by hurtful misunderstanding. The character of Dorian was a dark, delicious twist that I was not expecting. How Lauren Hawkeye developed their unconventional romance was tastefully unique and decidedly erotic. Although, threesomes are not something I am comfortable with, I do admit that this story intrigued me enough to keep reading. I can't wait to see what else is in store for Mal, Adele and Dorian in Book 2. I highly recommend this book if you like to think outside the box of normal stereotypical romance and experience something you'll likely never experience!
I couldn't wait to read this book after I read the second story in the Riding Desire Biker Boxed Set. That story was the first I've read of Lauren's. When I read the excerpt for this book, I made a note to read about the threesome next.
Malachi "Mal" Hunter is a law student who frequents the law library for studying. He goes there to study two things: law and the intriguing girl who studies not too far from him. Adele Cavanaugh has her eyes set on completing a nursing degree. Circumstances arise and throws her off the path. Taking up roller derby life, she meets Dorian Marshall, the lead singer from the Australian band Three Little Words.
This is a sweet new adult rocker romance. Definitely a must-read!
A little gem of a book. I couldn't put it down, I was instantly engrossed in Mal and Adele's romance.
Mal is an uptight pre law student, he catches the eye of the free spirited nursing student Adele. Their mutual attraction is undeniable but a decision of Mal's drives them apart. 2 years later a chance meeting makes both realise that their feelings for each other haven't changed but Adele isn't the same person any longer. Adele meets a sexy Aussie and finds that she wants to get to know him but what will happen when Mal finds out?
I loved the book and have already pre ordered the next instalment.
I didn't even know this was a menage when I started it. Malachi had always done was expected of him. The day he met Adele his life changed. She was a wild beautiful creature. She didn't care what anyone thought about her. Mal was slow to get that he shouldn't worry about others. By the time he did it was too late. Fate brought them back together. Dorian was a rocker friend Mal met by chance and they happened to meet Adele at the same time a after a couple of years. The only problem they both wanted her. Adele went through some tragedies and together these two men will try to mend her heart. Be advised this steamy novel will set you on fire.
This is the story that made me fall in love with Lauren Hawkeye and sent me in search of all other works written by her. Wonderful romance between Mal and Adele--very sweet, sexy and real. I hurt along with the characters when they lost touch. Loved how Ms. Hawkeye orchestrated the meeting of Mal and Dorian and Adele coming back into Mal's life. The way the three characters come together is unique making for a very enjoyable story. When I finished reading the last page all I know was I wanted to read more!
3 STARS. This isn't a love triangle...it twists into something else. An acceptance of truth. Open minds. Three people trying to heal one another? This one was very much out of my comfort zone to read. I found Adele way too malleable for what she was going through. More time between them all would have allowed me, as a reader, to acclimate and see how they worked into this heavy, physical relationship. I guess I just needed it to be more believable.
Wow this book started really good- going back 2 years ago when Mal and Adele met. He is very straight follow the rules glasses law student must conform kind of guy, Adele is a free spirit from the color of her hair to her clothes. She is strong and confident. Flash forward two years things change drastically and add Dorian the rocker to the mix and things get very interesting. Really good read, nothing like I expected and I like that a lot.
What a uniquely fit group of people. Lauren write s this story through the eyes of each person which I loved. We get to see how each person feels about their Triad as they all seem to view their love affair. How they each ones emotions play into this and their internal struggles. I think it was perfectly written but I wish it didn't have a cliffhanger but that's me being greedy. Another wonderful book as always.
I had to read this for a second time to get ready for the release of the sequel coming up August 12th. This story is so heart wrenching but is also hot. Lauren Hawkeye always draws you in and delivers steamy sizzling sex scenes as well as that connection that we all crave for our characters. What a great story. Cannot wait for the sequel.
I loved and enjoyed reading the fabulous, romantic, hot & steamy story Three Little Words(Book 1) by Lauren Hawkeye. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written love triangle of Adele, Mal, and Dorian.
Loved the struggle of being so down that you wonder if love is worth it. Adele, Mal, and Dorian strive to make them happy and not care what the world thinks. Their life style will not anyone but only prove love comes in all forms. This was an enjoyable read and look forward to next one.
This is one of those love stories that you read and wonder if things like this was really true in real life. Loved the story line and the three man characters blended nicely together.
Three Little Words is about her great book by Lauren Hawkeye. Mal & Adele are college students with typical troubles... But with a twist you won't expect they are forced to re-evaluate everything and the only constant is their love. Add Dorian to this mix and WOW!
I didn't find it to be a very compelling read but I liked the characters and wished there was more to the story. I realize there's a second book but I fear the lack of content of the first one means the second wont' be any better.
