Good and Evil have always been at war, and this time Evil might just win.

One small mishap is about to change Billy Roth's life forever. Decoding information about a eugenics program currently in the works opens Billy's eyes to the fact that eugenics isn't a long-dead religion as many believe, it's alive and thriving, and with something truly evil backing it, this time it might just succeed.

Billy and his wife Sarah are drawn right into the middle of the unfolding plot to destroy all imperfect people for reasons neither of them could have ever imagined--Billy is the product of a eugenics experiment! Billy and Sarah come across two distinct lines of thought when it comes to perfecting the world's population; one chooses to do all it can to improve humanity while the other is set to purge it.

Christian Thriller and Suspense with a touch of the Supernatural.

Review for The Secret, book 1 in this series.

I thought this book was interesting. I don't usually go into the realms of dystopian/futuristic things, but I was intrigued by this book. And it was free. . . *grin* I thought the twists were quite something and the story came across as plausible.

Good plot, interesting sci-fi stuff, completely believable characters, exciting plot twists and turns that you're not expecting. Writing style wasn't quite there for me, but I guess you'd have to read it for yourself to be the judge. It wasn't jarring enough to make me put the book down because I really wanted to see what happened next and how everything got resolved in the end. Try it, and if you like it, I believe there are a few more books in the series as well.

Great book

I loved this story. The characters were so down to earth and believable. Just the right amount of intrigue. I highly recommend it and can't wait to read the next book in the series.

This isn't typically my type of book, but I love the author so I thought I would try it. With Ms. Booth's style of writing, it is easy to get caught up in the characters and events--the story moved quickly and had me guessing what would happen next. It was a good book, and certainly has me thinking as this could very well happen now. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Amazing! (But a frighteningly plausible concept, too!)

It took me a bit of time to get into this book...I have a tendency to avoid reading about anything intense, except the Bible, before bedtime... but I am glad I did. My avoidance wasn't helped by the fact that I could too easily imagine such a thing happening! I was impressed by the writing, by the thought that went into the story, and the character development. Still, the scenario was so believable that I often found myself repeating, "My food and water are blessed," for comfort! Great read.

Was a great premise: young guy gets hired as a trash collector to some 'exclusive' neighborhoods, then finds out about eugenics on a coded piece of trash that was inadvertently left for him. He finds out he has a blood legacy to uphold - and then the story becomes somewhat fantastical but with alot of religious overtones that weren't believable. Writing was stilted but the premise had potential. Unfortunately not for me.

From the title it’s clear this book is about a secret but, as Stephen King noted “Good books don’t give up all their secrets at once.” That makes this a good book because the secret of the title slowly reveals itself. But it’s more than a good book, it’s a fun book, it’s a suspenseful book, it’s a thought provoking book, and, yes, it’s a Christian book. What it’s not is a Christian book that preaches. Overall it’s a book that will keep you interested and guessing.

Very interesting read

Reading this kept my interest. The subject matter is something I have read about, but not in a fictional setting. It is hard to believe such things really happen. But as with most fiction I generally believe there is something in real life that inspires it. Eugenics is desired by ones who believe they know what is best for us. I believe only God has that power.

Enjoyed the plot and interesting turns throughout the book. Kept me wanting to continue reading! Not too futuristic but enough to make it believable. I enjoyed the references to God as I usually read only Christian authors, but didn’t believe it was too overwhelming for anyone. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

The writer needs a better editor. The dialog was rather stilted. This could have a very good book, but it's not

Ebook: different, but I wasn't as in to it as I hoped. It definitely got more religious as it went on, which was ok, but the characters were a little undeveloped to me.

I was truly interested in this novel based on the concept of eugenics and how it would be applied in this case. Too Jane people fail to recognize how eugenics can personally effect them or someone close to them and this b ook does,a good job showing how slippery a slope it is once researchers progress from research into action and start applying eugenics, according information to their discretion. Noone is safe.

My only issue with the writing was it got tied down at times, and felt like it was dragging. Hoping the next book in series, speeds up a bit,as would like to find out how story progresses.

I enjoyed a lot of things about this book, but there was a lot I felt could have been better. The plot was interesting enough that I wanted to know what would happen next. There were enough questions and twists to keep me second guessing my thoughts on who could be trusted.

I liked the characters and found it refreshing to read about a Christian couple who was not overly preachy. At least not until the end of the story. Then it felt like a sermon was tacked on at the end. That leads me to what I did not like about the book.

In spite of the interesting concept and plot twists, the story seemed to lag at times. The pacing felt off. To me, I felt there could have been less spoon feeding details and more action. It seemed just as things started to get tense the pace dropped off and went back to explaining the details instead of showing.

Overall, it was a good book. I do recommend it to any Christian who enjoys a good mystery suspense novel with core Christian beliefs at its heart. I liked it enough to continue reading the series and possibly try something else by the author. I just wanted it to be more than it delivered, hence 3 stars instead of 4 or even 5. Hopefully, with the character development out of the way and the background story given, the pace of the next book is more consistent. I have high hopes for this author and am not ready to give up yet.

Technically, this was a 2-star until I got to the end.

You realize early on that this is Christian fiction, but that doesn't bother me. But the author of a book with a Science fiction twist loses all credibility when (not really a spoiler, but just in case)

I will not be reading anymore it this series.

This book has an interesting premise, but I felt that S.R. Booth's writing style was plain and predictable. That said, I would read the next books in the series if given the chance, as I'm curious where Booth will go with the storyline. It is a quick read, but a cliffhanger.

A very clean book. No nudity or foul language that I saw. Lots of health and good living tips. There was more than a little bible in the book

The plot is very intriguing. I even googled it if it is possible to exist in the real world. I found some info about it but, I hope it didn’t really exist.
Anyway, this book got my full attention until the last page. Conspiracy was there although I expected more action. Other than that, I highly recommended this book!
