"I haven’t always been a writer. My parents are writers and my brother is a writer, and I resisted that as long as I could. When I was 17, I hopped in a band’s van and I went on tour for a summer, and that was it, that was what I wanted to do. I ran a record label for 10 years, a small indie punk label. I did everything in music that you can do that doesn’t involve having musical ability. Eventually the music business, probably in a similar way to comics, will just start to break your heart, and I realized one day that I kind of hated music. I was resigned to thinking, if I’m going to be involved in music forever, I’m going to hate it for the rest of my life. I just stopped. I stopped having any sort of business with music, any involvement.

I read comics my whole life, so I just naturally fell back into another medium that is marginalized and hard to make a living in."

The final issue has a quote that I think sums up the whole series...
'So this is the end...It ain't pretty, and it ain't what anyone wanted...'

The Wildstorm anniversary came and went and WildC.A.T.S. is no closer to making it into the main DC continuity. They try. Oh LORD, do they try. It just never feels...good?

Take this collection, for example. The best part of this final collection is probably Grifter's multiple multiverse jumps after he puts a bullet in The Void. We get to see him interact with some of the more common Elseworlds/Multiverse locations, if only for a few panels. Feels good. It's fun. The Halo Corporation takeover by feels like you ran out of unique ideas and just want to graft them into something from the main universe in the hope that we'll all clap our hands.

It's just too much. The story is ok. I appreciate seeing the characters come back, but it's just too much at once. Some people are explained in detail, yet others AREN'T? How? Why?

It's ok. If you REALLY miss the Wildc.a.t.s., go grab an old Image TPB. It won't have Batman in it, but does it really need it?

This is the second volume in the revamped WildC.A.T.S. This version is not quite recognizable from the original. Characters you thought you had a handle on are wildly divergent and some easily recognizable. Consequently, I always felt a step behind--which also kept things from being too predictable.

The art here isn't consistent. It looks as though the artists switch off between scenes. Chances are you'll like one style of art better than the other.

Criticisms, aside. This story has Grifter, Zealot, Voodoo, Fairchild, and other Wildstorm characters bouncing chaotically off each other in a wildly plotted story. To add to the fun the Wildstorm universe gets mingled in with the DC Universe and we see Batman, Robin, the Black Canary and others cross paths with the titular protagonists of this title.

If there's a third volume, I'm on board.

The last stand

A good book. It brings everything together quite well towards the end. I really like the integration of the WildC.A.T.s into the DC universe. This is an action-packed battle to the end.

The WildC.A.T.s are thought to be dead. Even the other members think Grifter is dead. However, like most things, it is not what it seems. They can barely trust/stand each other. How can they work with anyone else to stop the end of the world?

The book contains a number of guest stars from the DC universe, both good and bad. This is the first WildC.A.T.s series I have read and enjoyed. I would love to see the survivors return, though only members seem to be a regular on the Birds of Prey series. The book finishes with a variend covers gallery.

This book was short-lived and the ending was a little abrupt, but it was nonetheless a good take on the WildCats in the DC Universe, mixing their corporate grittiness with the superheroism of the DC Universe. Compare and contrast. I'd like to see more, but alas this is once more it.

Wildcats vol. 2 bloodshed Gor a better tomorrow

Yeah. Another great book. Great alternative to the normal super hero books I usually read. Love Gifter, love to see more books just about him.

The Wildstorm integration

The Wildstorm integration continues to work, pairing the big business world of both universes into something distinct but consistent with the likes of Wayne Enterprises and Lexcorp.

An action packed volume with not much depth about the tyranny of corporations.

Not 100% sure I knew exactly what was going on at points, but I did have a good time reading this.

Total jumbled mess of a second half of this series. Characters are all over the place, the villains motives are explained poorly, and there's way too much telling without showing. Was thankful this was over.
