A slow paced bodyguard romance. I have a feeling I've read this book before, but even the second time round it was okay. It was on the slow side for me. I would have liked more action in it throughout, because there wasn't much going on, but all in all, it was an okay story.

I believe Ink is now one of my new book boyfriends. But no one beats Gavin yet as my favorite.
Jana and Ink were both apprehensive to truly be together, which was a little annoy sometimes just cuz I don't like when people keep assuming and don't stop beating around the bush. But the moment they got together, dam was it steamy and exactly what hoped from their relationship. The teasing and little bout of jealousy made the wait worthwhile.
The reveal of the crazy stalker was not at all who I though it would be, which made the ending more satisfying. Just wish there was a bit more of the crazy of the stalker brought in.
Really love getting to read Morgan's books though. Can't wait for the next one.

Jana/Gemma is a singer who has garnered the attention of an obsessed fan/stalker and the studio she sings for has hired a security company to provide a bodyguard (Victor) to keep an eye on her. When an attempt is made on her life, Jana thinks the best way to draw out the perp is to make it appear that she has gotten married and she decides that Victor is the perfect candidate to be her groom. What starts off as fake quickly becomes real when they are forced to share a house for two weeks.

I really enjoyed this book. This was another read as a result of a Facebook ad where I thought the preview provided plus the book summary intrigued me enough to buy it. The suspense and twists in this story were nuts and kept me on the edge of my seat! Victor and Jana have an obvious attraction to one another in the beginning of the book but Victor believes that Jana is just like every other celebrity; a stuck up snob. Jana has had self-image issues throughout her whole life, thanks to her mother and the studio, and having Victor assume that hurts her feelings. When they’re forced to share a house for two weeks Victor sees another side of Jana and begins making an effort to get to know the real Jana. As they spend more time together, the attraction between them grows and they end up burning up the sheets. (This scene is hot, folks! Prepare to fan yourselves multiple times!) As things appear to have died down on the stalker front, Morgan James throws a curve ball about 70% in that will have you screaming “WHAT?!” and holding your breath until the very end! I don’t want to spoil it but Jana was a freakin’ badass in those last scenes!

I am definitely going to be checking out the other books in this series and possibly more from Morgan James.

Every book in this series is a winner! Jana and Ink have great chemistry. That is putting it mildly. They are FIRE! Jana is a music star and Vince "Ink" is the bodyguard assigned to her. When she starts getting increased fan threats Vince goes on a 24/7 security detail for her protection. Now I'm a sucker for a forced proximity trope and this was no exception! Things escalate between them and the outside threat does as well. It all culminates in an explosive ending and a twist I did not see coming! I really enjoyed the combination of suspense and romance in this book. It was a perfect balance!

Awww! Such a sweet romance! I can say that now that I’ve finished but sincerely it was a slow burn bodyguard romance. Love the cover but the blurb cinched it!

What did I like? Beautiful woman receives threatening notes and gets a hawt HAWT bodyguard! After some back and forth between the two you can say there is some friction. Slow burn but a HEA! Four stars!

Would I recommend or buy? If your in the mood for a bodyguard romance then this is a great one! Loved Vince and Jana... I would read more from this author!

This story ended up being nothing I expected, but everything I needed. I loved that it wasn’t you’re typical celeb romance with the paparazzi causing infinite problems. Their relationship in the beginning was so frustrating because they both wanted each other but wouldn’t admit it. But when they finally did, it was on fire! I had hoped there would be some suspense and I was not disappointed! I never saw the twist coming, and some parts had me literally on the edge of my seat. This is the first book I have read by this author, but it looks like I need to read more soon!

Vince and Jana's story is equal parts romance and suspense. Follow along the story as Jana is being targeted by a crazy fan attached to her image as a famous country singer. Will vince be able to do his job and save her or will he be distracted by stollen kisses when he crosses the line ?

I love a brooding hero and vince fit that role perfectly.

I find morgan has a way of writing characters mindsets and reactions so realistic your heart will be pounding along trying to solve the mystery.

I found this author by mistake wrong spelling of anther author I was looking for, but what a mistake! I saw this series and thought they sounded good from the synopsis, I bought books 1-4 read them in two days.
This book with Ink and Jana I think was my favorite absolutely loved it from start to finish.
The chemistry between them is off the charts and the story line flows so nicely draws you in and gets you hooked.
Very well written and kept my focus from the beginning.
So glad I made the spelling mistake and found you, I can’t wait for the next book in this series which I hope there will be!
Please say there is more to come?

Loved Jana and Vince’s story. However a bit more detail on what happened in their normal lives once they returned was needed.

The ending seemed rushed with nothing about the studio.

Woohoo, from where to begin?! This one was not what I expected yet everything I needed.
Usually I’m not a fan of a romance story. But damn, this one was so so so good.

There are times when I wanted to shake the characters so bad and yell ‘wtf! Just talk’. It was so frustrating with the two of them. Lol.
Bun then they talk, things change, and man! It was hot!

Some scenes hand me on the edge. With all the suspense, mystery and let’s not to mention THE TWIST. Wow, I didn’t see that coming!

I really really enjoyed this book. You should definitely give it a go.

If you are looking for a slow-burn, forced proximity, bodyguard, steamy romance than Heart of a Devil is definitely the book for you. Ms. James gives us a story of Jana/Gemna, a famous singer and her sexy bodyguard Ink, Vince. The chemistry between the two of them sets the pages on fire. Ink thinks that Jana is a spoiled rich brat that does what she wants and gets what she wants. When she starts to receiving letters that are considered dangerous and her life is threatened, the bodyguard & client relationship changes. He sees Jana in a completely different light. Being together 24/7 has Jana coming up with an idea to see if her stalker will either back off or slip up and then be caught. Agreements are made and lives are changed, but is it for the better? The twist that Ms. James throws at us is inevitable that I honestly did not see coming.
I highly recommend picking up Heart of a Devil and make sure you have time to finish it in one sitting as you will not be to put itvdown.

The last chapters were surprising because the stalker wasn't who I thought, I expected a stalker or the obsessed fan who went crazy when the two main characters got married that made this book more suspenseful. it is a light suspense book with more romance dominates the story.
I liked that this book was told from dual POV, so I can see how the characters' mindsets make this slow burn, and then developed over their time together. slow paced at the beginning but the ending seems a little bit rushed.

This is the third book I've read in this series and my favorite one so far. This tells the story of Vince (a bodyguard) who is protecting Gemma/Jana (a music sensation). I wasn't sure what to think of it at first and didn't really connect with either of the characters until halfway through. I didn't like how Vince treated Jana at first, and how she was a bit bratty. It definitely got better in the second half though, although the main villain was a bit predictable.

Vince and Jana’s story was a very sweet love story. So much back and forth insecurities I was wondering if they were ever gonna get past them all. This story was just long enough to tell a good love story. It had just enough twists and suspense to keep the reader engaged. I thoroughly enjoyed this story.

I listened to this audio and the male narrator almost ruined the book for me. His voice did not match the character of the hero to me. The story was okay and I think I'd have liked the book much better if I'd read it instead of listening.
