Willabee loves sharing his magical singing for all to hear! One day, when Willabee flies down from the magical mountains of Mipleweepers to earth in order to spread his wonderful gift of singing, poor Willabee is hit by a rock, leaving him helpless. A group of helpful ducks rush to his aid and nurse him back to health. But the ducks need Willabee's help as well. They must learn to sing as wonderfully as Willabee to avoid the awful upcoming duck hunting season. Will the ducks ever sing as beautifully as Willabee? Will it be enough to save them from duck hunting season? Children will be entranced by Bill’s fable about how personal power and perseverance can help you achieve anything!

Cute and perfect read for reluctant readers.

Bill Calhoun's Willabee: A Tale of Courage is a sweet story for younger kids. The illustrations are gorgeous (although I wish a little larger). I love courageous characters for kids and Calhoun's Willabee represents such a character. He never gives up even when the odds are stacked up against him. Bravo.
