Corrie never wanted to be the county tax commissioner. And she certainly isn’t any kind of detective.
So when she happens on the scene where an attorney was murdered, she leaves it to the sheriff to figure out what happened. After all, she barely knew the woman.
But there’s more Corrie does know. Like where the bear came from that was spotted at the murder site. Like whose county car was parked near the victim’s house. Like why the victim’s secretary threatened a local business owner.
But Corrie doesn’t have a clue about the most important thing she knows. Too bad the murderer does.
Lives with her guy and cat on an island off the Georgia coast.
Cheryl's first novel was TREACHEROUS BEAUTIES, a romantic suspense under the pseudonym Cheryl Emerson. Released by Silhouette (Harlequin), it was made into a television movie. Since then she’s written three more romantic mysteries, a paranormal romance, and two humorous mysteries based on her years in a Georgia tax commissioner’s office.
Great descriptions I laughed several times who knew that a tag tax collector could have a such exciting life the discovery of the murderer was summed up very quickly
