What did I just read? The book opens page one with a man watching a woman undress while remembering his first sexual encounter with his sister. It only gets more bizarre from there, mixing a slew of subplots featuring corporate corruption, Third World rebellions, ghetto crime lords, unfaithful wives, transphobia, hitmen, nazi pastors, alcoholism, forced romance, crooked cops, dead birds, and very outdated computer programming terminology, to name a few. It’s pulp kitsch and therefore mildly fun, but it’s not great pulp kitsch and therefore mostly a slog.

I owned this book some time back, but must have donated it to some bookshop. So I reread it. Not as good as I had remembered. I do not enjoy books written by British authors who maintain so much 'brit' language and words which are not used here. It makes the books difficult to read with any real flow.
