Mercedes' Mountain

Rate this book
From the time she was small, Mercedes Simmons always reached for her dreams. But by the time she turns forty, her dreams need a serious overhaul. When she learns of a cabin for sale in Maggie Valley, North Carolina, she decides to sell her successful dance studio in Brooklyn, New York, and leave her old life behind. For Mercedes, a small country town seems like a perfect place to start over, but for her parents, it’s no place for their single daughter. In the end, Mercedes’ strong will wins out, and she trades the noise, traffic, stress, and conveniences of big-city life for what she really needs. Mercedes’ Mountain is the story of a woman in the prime of her life who begins her quest for the kind of happiness we all desire—the kind that money can’t buy.

I am a mother of eight, and grandmother, a published author and motivational speaker.

ATTENTION: Occasionally a title or two will show up in my list of published books that are not mine but are written by another author by the same name. I write clean romance and many of her titles are erotica. This is NOT cool and I have no idea why this keeps happening. If you are unsure about which titles are mine, please visit my Amazon page.

So far, this has been my most popular book. It is the story of a very successful single black dancer living in New York, who, when she turns 40 decides she wants to change her life. So she sells her studio and buys a cabin in Maggie Valley NC, which happens to be smack dab in the middle of Cherokee Indian reservation. She knows there has to be more to life than her Baptist minister father has taught her. She finds what she is looking for, and finds love, too:o)

Ethan & Mercedes' conflict between a friend & family regarding their interacial relationship is all too familiar. Their love and their faith in God helps them thru it. This story touched my heart and pray I have the strengh they do when I am faced with the same situation. A beautiful story is what is always given by author Jewel Adams.
