The harrowing first-person account of a rural Oklahoma girl who was sexually abused by her father and kidnapped by a prostitution ring. Follow her ordeal from Virginia to California to Wall Street and Europe. This is a testament to the endurance of the human spirit and the healing power of faith.
The author is very brave and courageous to write about the abuse she faced. The journey throughout her childhood was horrific and I could not put the book down! The horrors she faced, including people in authority who should have been protecting her, make for a very gripping tale, The author's childhood was robbed from her and many of the adults in her life did not protect her. How the author endured so much is a testimony to her human spirit and her faith. What an inspirational story! The author is a role model to many and her story will hopefully open the dialogue of sexual abuse to others.
I applaud the author for putting her story in her own words in this book. It's hard to face the trauma of the past and put it down on paper.
I was not impressed with the odd grammar mistakes. Missed periods, sentences that didnt make sense or repeated words. I think it could have been edited better.
The author writing is hard to follow. A paragraph will be talking about one thing, and in the next sentence will jump to something completely different what happened years later. Very difficult to follow the story.
