Renee Ryan

Renee Ryan grew up in a small Florida beach town. Surfing didn’t work for her, but that didn’t keep her from watching others tackle the waves. To entertain herself during those countless hours of “laying-out”, she read many of the classics. It wasn’t until the summer between her sophomore and junior years at Florida State University that she read her first romance novel. Hooked from page one, she spent hours consuming one book after another while working on the best (and last!) tan of her life.

Two years later, armed with a degree in Economics and Religion, she explored various career opportunities, including stints at a Florida theme park, a modeling agency, and a cosmetic conglomerate. She went on to teach high school Economics, American Government and Latin in between coaching award-winning cheerleading teams. Several years later, with an eclectic cast of characters swimming around in her head, she began seriously pursuing a writing career. What better excuse to avoid housework and ignore clocks?

I love to begin new series! Renee Ryan has combined a widow dad with twins, a crazy puppy and experimenting with chocolate recipes! Connor is a busy doctor who needs someone to watch his twin girls for the summer when his housekeeper gets injured. Olivia loses her high-powered job in Florida and moves back to her small town in Colorado to be with her older brothers and perhaps follow her dream of opening a tea room. She agrees to watch Connor's girls for the summer because she loves children and she's known Connor for years. Well, things change between them and suddenly romance is in the air but both have things in the past that need to be dealt with. I enjoyed the main characters and the secondary characters. I have always liked small towns and Village Green is delightful! Looking forward to getting to know this town and the inhabitants better!

Olivia Scott moves back to her hometown after losing her job. Dr. Connor is a single father with twin girls. The girls nanny gets hurt so he needs someone to care for them so Olivia volunteer for the job. Love the way Olivia is so good with the girls. A very good book, enjoyed it so much. This is definitely a story with some drama. His wife has died of ovarian cancer. So he is a doctor and needs a nanny. His nanny trips over the new puppy and breaks some bones. Olivia volunteers to babysit the twins, Megan and Molly. They are the girls & love her. Soon their dad begins to entertain interest in Olivia. I enjoyed the story.

What a wonderful surprise I found in this book! I had no clue...

This book is about a woman who's come home after losing her boyfriend and her job. She has decided she wants to settle down and open her very own tea shop with specialty chocolates. But then she meets this single father raising his twin daughters after his wife died from cancer. Both families have several siblings. Olivia has three older brothers while Connor has four sisters, I believe. He's a doctor with his own practice and partners with Olivia's older brother.

But the surprise was that these books are related in Renee Ryan's historical series, Charity House, which I just finished reading! If you have read them, you'll recognize some of the names (Scott and Mitchell), and in a way these two could be very distantly related!!! some of the first names were also taken from the book. There was a Connor Mitchell in the series. There was also a Molly (Scott) Mitchell (hense the distant relations)...There are some other secrets from Charity House revealed in these books. I was very happy to see them and hope the next book also refers to the historical series....

The book itself - the romance - is pretty typical and has been read before, but it was still pretty sweet...

Olivia Scott finds herself back in Colorado after her job falls through as well as a terminating an unhealthy relationship. She's not quite ready to face her hometown so she decides to walk towards the park and finds herself saving a puppy, who's bent mass destruction and meeting two adorable little girl and their handsome father. Dr. Connor Mitchell doesn't know how he's going to manage after his house keeper is injured after tripping over the family puppy (named Samson) and injures her knee which require extensive surgery to fix. Connor's partner Ethan's little sister Olivia feels she's the answer to Connor's dilemma and sets out to convince her brother and the handsome doctor that she is up for the task of being his Nanny for the summer.

When I saw that Renee Ryan had another book being published, I added it to my to-read list.
Then I saw that it wasn't a historical fiction and was disappointed because I really enjoyed her Charity House Series.

Since I prefer historical fiction, I wasn't sure that I was going to read this book.

I should have had more faith in Renee because she found the perfect formula for an incredible story.

Single Dad + Nanny + Adorable, matchmaking twins + Dogs + Supportive brothers = Hours of Enjoyment

I was thrilled to see the Mitchell's, the Scott's and Charity House again.

I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Claiming The Doctor's Heart is the first book in the village Green series. I really enjoyed this book. Olivia Scott moves back home after losing her job in the city and leaving her boyfriend. She wants to open a chocolate tea shop, but doesn't tell her brothers that. To earn money she baby sits for Dr. Connor Mitchell. Connor is best friends with her one brother. Connor has twin nine year old. A romance happens between Connor and Olivia. I thought the book dragged out a little too much. Otherwise it was an excellent story line.

I love anything by Renee Ryan! She has a way with words that captures my attention, and her characters feel like my friends. I usually read her historicals, but this contemporary is just as good! I didn't even mind how much the dog was in it, and for a non-animal lover like me, that's saying something!
I am excited for this series, and am dying for the next one! Thankfully it comes out soon! :)
