Wall Street Journal & USA Today Bestselling author, Nana Malone writes Sexy Feel-Good Romance and loves of all things romance and adventure.

That love started with a tattered romantic suspense she "borrowed" from her cousin. It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She's been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.

This was epic.

Why do I love the protective almost unhinged alpha-hole?

No
Idea
But
I do

This was fabulous. Opens as last one ends.
It’s fabulously written and great arch in the story.

Highly recommend

I really enjoyed the Takeover, and loved Gwen and Atticus’s relationship… however, this book just didn’t really do it for me. I’m invested in their HEA, and enjoy so much about these two so I’ll continue reading the next book. But this book was chaotic. It just seemed all over the place, and like pieces were missing. I felt confused and like I was missing parts the whole time. I’m not sure if it’s just being dragged out so that it’s three parts, but this book almost seemed like it was 75% page fillers.

Just not really for me, but I want that he’s for Gwen and Atticus.

It still isn’t over?!

FFS, I was already annoyed there was a cliffhanger at the end of the book 1 and now it turns out it’s not a duet either, but there’s another cliffhanger and another book? How. Many. More?! I’m ready for the HEA like yesterday.

Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever encountered romance storyline being dragged over three books (outside of the romantasy genre, that is, which is a different thing, since there’s a whole world of magic to go along with it).

And I’m quite conflicted about it all.

On one hand, the smut is smutting big time and there is enough going on plot-wise to keep you on your toes, enthralled by the unraveling of the story.

On the other hand, the writing is messy and chaotic, to the point that it lost me a couple of times. Also, the ornate language in a few too many scenes made me feel like I was reading one of my grandma’s romance books.

My biggest issue though is the fact that the main characters are freaking annoying. They’re acting like petulant children, creating problems where there could be none.
If they put half the effort they put into their sex life in honing their communication skills, this story wouldn’t require three books (or more, because who the F knows how many there will be in total).

I don’t even know if I care about their HEA anymore. I do want a closure though, so bring on that MERGER book and here’s to hoping that it will be the last one.

Nana Malone got me with this one!

So when I finished Takeover, the first book in this series I was floored. I could not wait to see where Nana was going to take this story. Well I just finished book two and I was not prepared for it.

We are back in the world of corporate espionage, blackmail and all the good things. But we also are getting an emotional roller coaster between Gwen & Atticus that is going to make you dizzy. And just when I thought, “Hey, maybe this is going to just be a duet,” Nana comes out of left field with the most dramatic cliffhanger EVER! I am NOT ok!

Listen, this series is steamy, it’s emotional, and it’s going to make your heart race for more than one reason. So seriously do not miss out on it. You will regret it if you do!

as someone who who really really LOVED the first book, i really really did not like this book at all. we know why Atticus broke it off, but Gwen doesn’t. Why could she literally not control herself at all? anytime he was in the room, she literally lost all of her sense of self and was just putty in his hands. idc that he groveled, bc even before she knew, she was still fooling around w him. in her mind, he never loved her, broke up w her the day before their wedding, and said a whole bunch of horrible stuff. and then she apparently has to move to london and has nightmares and is perpetually sad bc of the break up but the second he shows up in london, they sleep w each other??

Maybe it’s more so my opinion and personal preference, but i just don’t like how her character changed so much due to the break up. i felt like she was tamer, meeker, and resolute to doing whatever he wanted immediately. it pissed me off for her that it was HIM who said he had to grovel. he made HIMSELF work harder to get her back when she wasn’t even really fighting him on that.

this book made me so upset, that i actually typed out my first ever goodreads comment just for this.

i just felt like in the first book, Gwen was such a strong, smart person. in this book, it felt like she was so weak and flimsy. without even knowing the situation, she kept sleeping w him/messing around w him. it just felt gross to me. it felt like she had 0 self worth and that she just, all of a sudden, can’t control her urges. why do you have still want to sleep w a man, who to your knowledge, played tf out of you.
this book was just sad to me bc it made me really dislike Gwen as a character. I’ve read so many Nana Malone’s books. and she’s an incredible author and i’ve loved most of them. i just couldn’t understand why Gwen’s character was like this.

rn, i’m at the part where atticus convinced gwen to go to the isles by going down on her. i tried so hard but right now i’m DNFing. maybe i can come back to it and try to finish it bc i hate DNFing a book and i really liked the first one.

ACQUISITION is the second book in the KINGS OF THE BOARDROOM SERIES and must be read in order, that being said let's dive into my review. As you may know, I LOVED the first book, TAKEOVER, it had a great meet-cute and was very steamy, just the way I like my reads, it also had a lot of twists and turns and it left us with an epic cliffhanger which brought us to this book.

OH MY GOSH, how things have changed! We still have one hot couple only, it takes a bit to get back to where they were, and then watch out because these two light things up again. There is soooo much I want to say about this book. Still, I CAN'T because, you know, no spoilers are ever given in my reviews but know, I loved the way things were going. I was wondering how NANA MALONE was going to end this book to give us the third and YIKES I'm sorry I even had that thought in my mind because this ending was even more epic than the last one.

Really had fun with this.
It felt so nice reading a book where the FMC, Gwen has boundaries that she uphold. She doesn’t just (mostly) fall on her knees for man. She is able to verbalize her feelings and wants.
And the MMC, Atticus listens to her needs and wants and try to be better for her. Even though he has major control issues it is nice to see a MMC try to get better at giving up control.
Honestly was weird to see him ask for forgiveness. I haven’t read romances that the MMC ask for it instead of just demanding (that’s probably on me reading those books).

Atticus truly showed how much he loved and respect Gwen throughout (even though he was starting to lose me a little in the third act).
We love a character development.

Possible Spoilers:
One thing that leaves we weary is Lance. I have felt Morgan and him might end having something. Which I would hate. This book have cemented Lance’s feelings for Gwen, if he ends up with her sister?? That would just be horrible. Morgan doesn’t deserve to be a second choice. Also I don’t like their banter it feels very mean personally. And she’s too young.
I might be wrong. I hope I’m wrong, but if it does happen I might not read their books.

The 2nd of the series has arrived. After that major cliffhanger of the 1st book, there is a lot to cover.
At the start of the story, we have Gwen who is now overseeing her team in London and in the process of moving on from Atticus. Speaking of Atticus, he is trying to thwart his father’s plan while trying to win back Gwen. Let’s just say that neither will be an easy feat.
While the story continues readers are treated to new information and key players. Not only that but we are also treated to appearances by some of our beloved characters.

I won’t spoil major moments in the story, but I will say I was pleasantly surprised even with my theories. Of course, the clever humor, thrilling action and scorching hot romance were ever-present. Gwen and Atticus had a lot of challenges to face, not just with each other. Lastly, the nail-biting cliffhanger had me not only in my feelings but had my mind working overtime. Overall, I enjoyed this book and patiently waiting how the story will continue in the upcoming third book.

This book left me with a whirlwind of emotions. Atticus is obsessed with Gwen and just can’t help but get in his own way. Gwen is always putting everyone else’s needs above her own. Atticus’ father is trying to take over his company and there is an unknown threat out against Gwen. Cliffhanger plot twist ending that left me saying wtf I need to know what happens next! I absolutely love this series and will absolutely be reading the third book!

THE ENDING?! She had finally forgiven him again and they were in a good place and then that shit happens. I just want them to be happy and have no problems besides the fact that he's a bit of an asshole.

Another excellent…ending! (Cue sinister laugh)
Ms. Malone writes such great characters and intense relationships. Acquisition’s storyline was great and had enough twists & turns to keep it interesting. It was great seeing all the Winston Isles cast too! But if the next freaking book doesn’t come out soon…

With this being the second book in a trilogy I can’t go into plot but I will say this:
In Acquisition, Gwen is having to deal with so much pain, confusion, and frustration. She has been kept in the dark when it comes to a certain decision Atticus had to make at the end of book one so she is reacting based on the info she has. She is both hurt and angry and who can blame her?
And Atticus was unfortunately put in the worst position possible and he’s having to deal with the fallout of it all while also trying to keep everyone he loves safe even if that means he has to keep his distance (which he’s not the best at when it comes to Gwen especially when her life is put in danger). Seriously though the way he is so gone for Gwen freaking melts me.

PS- be prepared for a nerve wracking cliffhanger (seriously Nana that was just mean)

What to expect:
-Reunited after that brutal cliffhanger of book 1
-MF romance
-POC FMC
-Workplace romance (he’s technically her boss)
-Office couch & limo sex
-“Good girl”
-Someone is out to kill the FMC
-Suspense

TW/CW: physical assault (FMC slaps the MMC), allergic reaction that requires an epipen, murder attempts on the FMC, dealing with blackmail from a side character

Picking right up where Takeover left off, we’re back in the world of Gwen and Atticus!!

Kings of the Boardroom is a trilogy about an arranged marriage between two powerful people, corporate warfare, and the emotions that develop along the way.

Acquisition, specifically, is full of drama, sex, and suspense, and you can’t help but love it. It truly takes you on a roller coaster of emotions from laughing at banter one page, to being on the edge of your seat the next.

Atticus is such an unhinged character and will do absolutely anything for Gwen. I’m loving how his character is developing and can’t what to see how that continues to progress. Gwen is a female who isn’t afraid to make the man work for it and I love it. She’s badass and a force to be reckoned with.

Finally, can we talk about the ending???? I need Merger right now 🫣

Thank you Nana and Valentine PR for the eARC in exchange for my honest review!!

This shit is gooooooddddd!!!! If this was a series I would definitely binge watched. It’s just my type, there is romance, mystery/suspense and action, what more could I asked for.

Anyway, it ended in another cliffhanger and I’m dying here 😖😖 who is the piss of shit that is trying to kill her !? I have absolutely zero clue, and I can’t just wait, I have to start the final book.

This one was utterly perfection, with just the right amount of everything, as always the spice was spicy 🥵, and even the action was actually good, there was actually a part that I was so into it that felt like I was watching a movie or something 😂😂. I just wished that there was more scenes where the father of Atticus would show up, just to give more drama 🤭

Now, on to the next!! 🥰

I just saw now that I have to wait for the next book, I’m literally going to die!!! 😭😭

In Acquisition, we are sucked right into the world of our main characters, Atticus and Gwen. You thought Atticus was obsessed with Gwen in the first book? You haven’t seen anything yet!

Atticus's possessiveness is off the charts, and while I loved his intensity, he was playing with Gwen’s head. I understood why he hesitated to tell the truth, but poor Gwen! My heart ached for her; she’s given up so much. The turmoil within her, choosing between love and convenience, was insane.

Gwen was already a badass in The Takeover, but she has so much more bite in this one. Atticus is still the MMC we know and love, but wow, has he changed. He’s so romantic when he wants to be, and he surprised me with how soft he could be, especially when talking about his childhood. And the groveling—oh, he grovels like a king for his one true queen.

These two needed to learn how to be friends, and I loved seeing them flirt and bond. Their undeniable sexual attraction is even stronger in this book—totally insane! The twists and suspense kept me glued to the pages.

NANA MALONE, WHAT WAS THAT ENDING???? 😱

If you’re looking for a read that’s packed with passion, suspense, and heartache, this is it.

Did you hear that? That was the loudest, most frustrating sigh in the world coming from me. I thought everything was going to be okay. Atticus was doing heavy-duty groveling due to all his wrongdoings from Book 1. And I loved how he groveled. But that ending––I might have teared up a bit.

As the story unfolds, Atticus finds that his father is not the only person he needs to be concerned about regarding Gwen’s safety. Atticus had some questionable methods of ensuring Gwen was safe and did everything to protect her. There was certainly no shortage of spice in the mix of family betrayal.

”Aquisiton” was an exciting second installment. I loved every moment of it. Once again, I eagerly wait for the next one.

Acquisition, book two in The Kings of the Boardroom series hits the ground running and is the continuation of Atticus and Gwen’s story where so many secrets are revealed, mistakes are made and ups and downs are had, but there is also danger lurking around every corner and through all the turmoil they both gravitate towards one another because they are simply destined to be together.
But, just when you think their story finds its happy ending, we are left with a cliffhanger and must wait for the next book in this series to see what happens next and I can’t wait!

Wow! That was a roller coaster. 🎢 I’m just going to say that I was so glad that the author didn’t waste time with getting things started for book 2. And I love the way she wrote their relationship. This book was full of intense, sweet, silly and frustrating moments. Just what I love to see in a contemporary romance setting. It was a quick read that had precious moments with a heart stopping ending!!! But I can leave with it. And I’m going to try to be patient for the 3rd book. Word being TRYING!
Thanks Nana Malone for this beautifully, insane eARC!

Book 2 picks up with Gwen in London. Atticus is watching her, his feelings even deeper than before he broke her heart. She is trying to get over him . When they run into each other it’s like they haven’t been apart. Will he finally explain why he did what he did? Another major cliffhanger! Can’t wait for the conclusion

Workplace romance and a good grovel? Also don’t forget to include the fact that this was an arranged marriage that was basically doomed to fail since they were not supposed to fall in love but what happened? They did. I always love the angst behind every word this author offers which makes me feel so embedded into the story which makes me wanting more. And the heat? Let’s say it was steamy!
