Love? Not on her agenda. It may be the month of love, but Jade doesn’t buy into the gimmicky, made-up holiday. What does have her heart is Fern Valentine Community Center. This year, they’re hosting their first Valentine’s Day carnival to raise funds for their soup kitchen and food pantry. All Jade wants to do is raise money for the community center that gave so much to her growing up.
What she didn’t expect was to be thrown together with the very man she does her best to avoid. But when the center needs her help, she can’t ignore the call. As they work side by side for a the place that gave them both so much, unexpected feelings arise. Who knew a few cookies and a kissing booth could change everything?
Jaded love is a novella in the Stillman Family Series. This is a BWWM interracial romance featuring a plus-size heroine.
Lanee Lane knows how to tell a story. I'm reading this in reverse. I read the first Stillman Family Series book What Skylar Needs and skipped to Jaded Love. Jade and Leo are coworkers who fall in love. Leo is a nice guy who took his time to get to know Jade. Due to her past relationships she began to feel that maybe love wasn't for her. I loved how the slow burn occurred in the story line.
I also loved seeing the pop ups of Melanie, Skylar, Brandon and Claudia in the story line.
Needless to say I'm downloading the 2nd book in the Stillman Family series to complete it.
If you want a short read with some sizzle, this series is sweet and romantic.
This was the 3rd book in this trilogy. The first two: “What Skylar Needs” & “The Bankroll League” were really good & cute romance stories. However, this book was the shortest story and didn’t feel as complete as the other two.
I found the description of Leo (the main heartthrob) was a miss leaving me without a good reference as to what he looked like other than he was tall & handsome.
While this book was lacking a strong storyline, I would still recommend reading it as it completes this series plus it’s very short.
I like this authors writing & will read her other books.
This novella was so darn sweet. I completely identified and understood Jade and where she was coming from, and Leo was so cute and patient with her. Absolutely loved this story!!
This was short. There was not a good description of Leo couldn’t picture him at all. This was just ok, needed something more. I’m not giving up on the author, will read more of her work.
