Rose Pipes provides a definition of islands and tell where they can be found. The book also informs the reader that many individuals make a living by catching and selling fish. This book can be used as an informational text to assist students with writing in a liter y station. Students would be encouraged to make connections if they are from an island or have visited an island. Drawing pictures of an island would be a choice as well.
