WE ALL NEED A PURPOSE IN LIFE. ONE MAN ONLY FINDS HIS IN DEATH.
Gina Jackson’s family has grown smaller in recent years. First, she lost her grandmother, then two years ago she lost her beloved grandfather. Now, the only person Gina truly cares about is her mother, Helen.
Unfortunately, neither woman saw the smooth New Yorker, Bruce Franklin, coming. Neither had a clue about Franklin’s true motives but both will pay a price for his actions, although in different ways.
With her mother distraught, Gina decides she has no choice but to right a wrong. A foolhardy trip to New York ensues, but Gina quickly learns that the Big Apple is an unforgiving city — her confidence tested to the limit within the first twenty-four hours. Then, in one moment, everything changes when Gina crosses paths with a mysterious Londoner by the name of Clement — a man as big as he is brash.
The fiercely independent Gina is then presented with a choice. Should she continue the search for Bruce Franklin alone, or would recruiting an ally prove a wise move? The first option seems rash, the second a gamble. All Gina knows is that she simply has to find Franklin.
Teaming up with a mildly unhinged man mountain from Camden might be a gamble, but with high risk comes high reward … or so Gina hopes.
When my son draws me a picture I always say I don’t like it, I LOVE it, the same goes for Keith’s books, I had goosebumps when the big man made a reappearance because he gets cheekier and has more wit as time goes on. Can’t recommend Clement books enough, we could all do with a Clement and Keith in our lives. Great story, great ending. Well done Keith, you did it again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Keith never fails to deliver, I have no idea why he is not as big as some other authors. I think this book is about 13 now and I have read every one of them and has never been under 5 stars. Keep up the good work.
Keith A Pearson can write, and he has come up with a wonderful character in Clement. Although his ways seem anachronistic to the other characters, they don't to me, as I grew up duritge 70's so it's a fun reminder of happy times. Yet I'm also still young enough at heart to get the main character's POV as well.
Here's to the continuation, hopefully, of a brilliant series.
Another great book from my favourite Author! Keith really has an amazing talent for writing! This is my new favourite book of his. Great characters and storyline it keeps you guessing until the end!
He’s back again - and all in his own inimitable style !
Clement seems to appear from nowhere just as a damsel is in dire distress and so the big man then does his utmost to ensure that the good folk find a guardian angel and the nasties get their just deserts.
US or UK, Clem dishes out justice as he seems fit with a rude, crude and hilarious view of life as he sees it along the way. Welcome back Clem and congratulations to the talented wordsmith who plotted him back so cleverly for our enjoyment. Already waiting impatiently for vol 3 !
I have read every one of Keith's novels, and in every case, I have read them in less than three days. This one is no exception. The books are story-driven, and you are kept on your toes, but the first-person narrative takes you on a life changing character arc with the protagonist, who you really feel you know. You can not help wondering what you would do in their situation. Then there is Clement. He is, in essence, a guardian angel in the form of a deceased six foot six hard man from 1970s Camden sent to help victims of evil find their redemption while exacting revenge. He is simply brilliant.
Wow... This most recent novel in the Clement series by Keith A Pearson is fantastic. This mysterious stranger is always on a mission to help someone in serious trouble. He seems to almost magically appear to give his aid. In this case he appears give assistance to Gina Jackson and her mum Helen. Gina is searching a conman who cleaned her mother out of nearly 2 million pounds on the day of her supposed wedding to the conman. Gina and Clement search for him in New York City, Bridgeport Connecticut, Essex England and eventually London. The plot is very complicated but satisfying. A terrific read.
So, Clement is back- omg- what a fantastic story. Clem in his full glory, the hero in double denim. The whole story is slick, keeps you guessing until at least 60% of the book and even then concludes with a couple of unexpected turns. Aside from Clement, the other characters are immediately likeable and you are instantly immersed in the story and cause. Cannot wait for the further adventures of this giant and his quick quips, good heart and fab humour. An absolute smash hit!
I mean the Clement books are just joyus every single on of them. Still cant believe they havent been picked up for TV.
Id love a Christmas one Keith if you are reading!
Clement is such a great character, some brilliant lines he has....the more these storys exist tho the less man out of time jokes hit but thats ok if like me youve beenbwith Clement fora while if you havent buy all the books and binge them.
Great investigation and the buddy up with Clement and his side buddy in this case Gina works a treat.
Being a sucker for time travel stories I stumbled upon The 86 Fix series and thoroughly enjoyed them all. As a result, my interest in the author was piqued. I reviewed the scenario of “Who Sent Clement” but I didn’t feel any enthusiasm for it so I went back to the style of book I usually read. As “Clement “ continued to appear in my Amazon book recommendations, I finally gave in and was pleasantly surprised. I have since read every book in the series and have become an avid fan. Who wouldn’t want a guardian angel to suddenly appear and save the day?
I've read all of author Keith Person's books and this latest one is no less amazing than his previous books.
Fan favourite man out of his time anti-hero Clement is back, and he's just as rough, crude, but loveable as ever.
The story starts in London with Gina, a thirty something single woman, who becomes embroiled in a heartbreaking part of her Mother's life that then leads her to the USA - and Clement.
As always, Person's books feature wonderful characters and page-turning drama, complete with scenes that bring a tear to the eye.
Classic Keith A Pearson quality with a nice dark ending
This is as good as any of Mr Pearson's other works, with (NOT REALLY, BUT..... SLIGHT SPOILER ALERT) the added benefit of some justice meted out.
The author deals with a believable modern day risk in his comfortable style. Genuine characters, continuously developing storyline and some good old fashioned violence.
I've waited what seems like forever for a new Clement story. Hope I won't have to wait too long for another! Can't put into words how much I enjoyed this book. Couldn't put it down for a day and a half. Only a few authors excite me when I hear of a new release. Keith is top of the list. Thank you so much Keith for this tale. Took me away from my problems while I read it. Hope for another dose of Clement really soon. From a huge East London fan. ❤
I really enjoyed the Clement books until now. The story was very enjoyable until the author went woke. The other books did not address the sex life of the characters except for a few crude remarks from Clement. I will no longer read books by this author. The ending with a married woman leaving her husband for another woman was revolting. Adultery and gay sex are the last things I want to read about.
Clemence is a man from the past, but his philosophies apply equally well in modern mixed-up beliefs. This is a good story with a beginning (apart from knowing quite how our hero arrives at the victim's side). - a middle, complete with highs, lows, and perils. - and an end (apart from knowing where Clemence moves on too?). The ending leaves us with a strong hope that Clemence's mission is not quite over. Bring on the next episode Keith.
So glad I found this author. Sitting in a North York's hotel which has now decided to not supply patrons with food. Nothing else in the village! SO.... reading, eating the words of his great writing, are taking the edge off my hunger pains! Really enjoying his books. Ps, just found a bottle of wine and bag of Doritos in the car. All good. Will carry on reading!!😁
Alrite Doll? Another great book from my fave author :)
Clem, my second favourite Keith character after Mungo, is back! I’m quite the sucker for the violent guardian angel genre, and Clement beats even John Milton to the title of Craziest B’stard.
OMG what a book. I just can’t get enough of Clem Read the book in 2 days 🙈 Keith, you are something else The best writer I have come across in many years Someone should make a tv series out of Clem books Hopefully not too long until you write another book in series.
I love the Clement books, all keith's are a great read, but the straight forward nature and humor in the Clement series always keeps me engrossed. Go on, read it, you won't be disappointed. great read and a great feel good book.
I've read all of this author's books. Big fan. I was really happy when he brought the big guy back, and really thrilled there would be more Clement stories. This one is Book 2 and, as far as I'm concerned, it's the best Clement book so far. Keep 'em coming, Keith.
I really enjoy these Clement books, it must be my age as I grew up through the same time that the author sets Clements life. I also find that I laugh out loud throughout the book but can be bought to tears by the tenderness as well. I would thoroughly recommend this book and any of the previous Keith A Pearson novels.
This book is as good as the first one! You can't help but love Clem and his character! Gene Hunt with an essence of Hulk Hogan! Bounding around first New York and then England to help Gina and her quest to find the bad guy and in doing so find his own redemption! Has he redeemed himself? I hope not as I can't wait for the next adventure for the big fella!
Best Clem story I've read yet. The author knows how to keep the narrative and story moving. This is my 7th book I've read by this author. He allows you to walk along with his characters as the story developes. It's the right amount of mystery and intrigue included in a well done book!!
Yet another brilliant book from Mr Pearson. This man truly has a gift, and long may he continue to use it!! All his books are inspired and I love Clement!! I am looking forward to seeing where he ends up next. I just wish that Mr Pearson could write more quickly!
If I didn't have an incredible crush on the indomitable clement I would have tossed this book in the bin - the ms. captain obvious heroine was unbearable! I resorted to skipping over her lines so I could make it to the end....... this deletion of her insipid drivel saved the book from the recycle pickup.
Funny caring and we could all do with a clem of our own a good twisting tale .Well written, good pace could do with a bit more about clem in time i think we will heres hoping
Another great book featuring one of the most interesting characters in fiction. Thoroughly enjoyable with humour, angst, crime and even a tiny bit of romance mixed in. Go out and ge5 this book. Now.
Excellent. This was a highly enjoyable new installment in the Clement series - his character has become much more rounded and interesting, and this was my favourite yet. Un-putdownable and finished in 2 days.
What great writing so hilariously funny in parts, loved the characters good storyline from start to finish - now I just can’t wait for the next Clementine book to come out!
Never a dull moment with the wonderfully non-PC Clement we love. I do enjoy the writings of Keith Pearson especially when Clement is involved. Particularly love the humour as our Clement deals with matters in his own inimitable style. Funny as.
