Snowed In With the Silver Fox is the 7th book in the O'Connors of Blossom Ford series by Iris West, but it can be read as a stand-alone. It is a small town romance featuring a curvy girl, enemies to lovers, grumpy-sunshine, forced proximity and an age gap.

Lucy Garcia runs the local grocery store. When she ends up stuck in a snowstorm on the mountain, she is rescued by Verlin O’Connor. Lucy used to have a crush on him until he unknowingly hurt her feelings. Verlin has fancied Lucy for years, but doesn’t know why she hates him so much. When they end up stuck in a mountain cabin during the raging snow storm, they finally clear the air. But the next morning Verlin finds Lucy gone and decides to go after her. Can Verlin convince Lucy that he is the only man for her?

This is a really short and quick read – it is over in a blink of an eye. The plot has potential for a full-length book and I sort of wished it was one. The writing style of the author is fluent, the plot and the characters have a lot of potential, but sadly the story never gets anywhere. It rather feels more like a good draft in the end. The story is very condensed: we got to observe small scenes of the current relationship between Lucy and Verlin with some flashbacks to their past ties. The conversation felt realistic, the setup was intriguing and there was definitely chemistry between the characters and even if there was the age gap – Verlin didn’t appear like a father figure. The sparks flied, but I feel that the chemistry between them was sacrificed and the story became a little jumpy. For example they moved from hate to love in an instant – made no sense. I feel like I needed to know of the characters and see them interact in more situations than what was presented – the drama was set into motion long ago and it was a bit difficult to catch up. There are a number of tropes included, but some were just jumped over. The story is part of a series (I haven’t read the other books yet), however it works perfectly well as a stand-alone. All in all it still is a cute and romantic story to read.

Snowed in With the Silver Fox is Book 7 of The O'Connors of Blossom Ford series. It's a short and steamy, grumpy-sunshine, OTT, enemies-to-lovers, age-gap, forced-proximity, curvy girl gets her mountain man romance. Lucy is a 26 year old curvy girl who runs the local grocery store. Verlin O'Conner is a 39 year old, hunky, grumpy travel journalist. When Lucy ends up stuck in the snow on the mountain, Verlin ends up saving her. Lucy used to have a crush on him until he hurt her feelings when she was 16. Now she despises him. Verlin also has a bit of a crush on Lucy but doesn't know why she hates him so much. When they end up stuck in the cabin, they talk and start to clear the air. But when she's gone the next day, Verlin is worried. Can he convince her he's all in and the man for her? This couple had amazing chemistry, and we got a very sweet HEA. I loved it.

This story had the potential to build and go places… but it unfortunately it never got off the ground.
It feels like a first draft that could have benefited with more dedicated time to really flesh out the story and characters, remove grammatical errors and the shifting between tenses.
As a super quick read at <50 pages, the characters had some history that they didn’t even explore or get into before they’re moving from hate to instant love, jumping over the fun tropes of forced proximity, enemies to lovers, and possibly one-bed… although it was hard to decipher with the fade to black.
I wanted to love it, but this just didn’t light any fires for me. Sorry.

Snowed in with the Silver Fox is the perfect description of short, sweet, straight to the point story wrapped in a cute bow! It dives right into Lucy's story and her past. We find out her past ties to Verlin. When they get forced to stay in a remote cabin together when a storm blows in, they are forced to look at the past and navigate the future.

I really enjoyed West's story telling. It made for a quick, steamy read. I look forward to reading more of the Curvy Brides of Blossom Ford Series.

Snowed in with the Silver Fox is a fantastic slow burn sweet romance. Main character Verlin is sweet and patient, kind and a bit reserved. Lucy is a self-assured younger woman carrying wounds from past trauma. The two of them getting trapped together is the best thing that could have happened to them—for so many reasons. I love how the author built this tale, showing us their pasts through their remembrances while building the connection between the two of them. Such a sexy sweet novella!

This book is a short simple story that is a super quick read. I didn’t feel I had any connection with the characters and there wasn’t any depth. The storyline in its self is a good one but just feel it needed to be developed on further because there is actually years of heartache and misunderstanding that was just brushed aside.
It’s hard to cram a lot of detail into such a short story so it is a super fast mover.

Quick read novella.

Lucy gets stranded in a snowstorm and Verlin saves her, bringing her to a friend’s farm to wait out the storm.
There wasn’t much spice and was a quick read. Berlin was very sweet to Lucy, being a gentleman and staying by her side through some things. Lucy was a great FMC.
I really enjoyed the story and epilogue!

Short and Sweet in the Snow

Verlin and Lucy have been at odds for the past ten years but not knowing that there was much more going on behind the words spoken then. Being snowed in together brings them closer together and unraveling the animosity. This was short, steamy and fun to read!.

Another Good Story!

I enjoyed this one very much. Wasn’t sure if I’d like it but continued reading it. It was good. Verlin and Lucy didn’t like each other. But eventually they talked about it and moved in the right direction with a relationship. And Baby makes three. On to the next one. 2 more to go. 🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜😊😊😊

This is a really good and fast book if you are looking for something to get you out of a reading slump. I do wish it was a little spicier as the cover makes it look but overall I really enjoyed reading and would suggest to friends!

Will Lucy ever forgive Verlin for his unforgiving words those many years ago? Not anytime soon. Or maybe the snow storm will help.

I think this is the first book I've read by this author. I love finding new authors. I liked the idea behind this story, but I felt it needed a little bit more plot and character wise. I didn't see their chemistry as much as I would like. Other than that, I will keep reading her stories.

This is a really quick, easy read if you just need a break from life, it almost feels like reading a full-length book but super condensed which is a nice change of pace! I think the tropes were done well, especially the age gap where it didn't feel like he was like a father figure to her.

This story goes through the entirety of Lucy and Verlin's relationship, which at times I appreciated but at other times I almost wished it was condensed to fit the length of the book. I kind of wanted to read a specific scene in their life where the chemistry between the two was more fleshed out and the reader could get a glimpse of what their relationship could be like instead of quickly going through their whole relationship timeline which for me sacrificed the chemistry between the two characters.
Overall, a very fun, quick read that is a great change of pace between 'serious' books!

The author has given us a heartwarming older man/younger woman story that pulls us into the lives of Verlin and Lucy. The story keeps us turning the pages with connection, denial, misunderstanding and steam.
