NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLING AUTHOR OF UGLY AND MISTRUST
I’m a two-time New York Times bestselling author for my stand-alone books Ugly and Mistrust. To date I’ve published over 30 books! I’m first generation Australian born and live in Sydney with my husband, two daughters and my rescue-dog, Kingston! I love to write stories to connect my readers to my strong, courageous characters…with some spice sprinkled between the pages. The characters I write about can pop into my mind anytime and anywhere. From the shower, to washing dishes, playing with my puppy or even in my dreams. My characters can sometimes be intrusive, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Thank you for taking this journey with me and I truly hope you love reading my stories as much as I love writing them.
In my experience, when an author claims that they will be writing about a strong FMC, oftentimes they arent able to back it up. I feel like this was another example. The book started off strong with Frankie showing everyone she's not afraid to get her hands dirty. However, as I kept reading I just got annoyed with the characters and the writing. I think the author did Frankie's character a disservice, because after like 2 days of becoming the mafia don, where a few people are concerned about a woman leading bc she might be too emotional, she develops a weird obsession with the new governor, Jeremy. The feeling was mutual but I just didn't get it. I thought this book would show a cat&mouse relationship or a relationship where they try to one up each other using their intelligence but it was nothing like that. They meet. Immediate obsession. Jeremy throws the 1st stone. Frankie retaliates. They have s3x. Suddenly he's moving in with her and they're having s3x all the time. What sense does it make for a governor to move in with a criminal on the FBI's watch list, where he will most likely witness illegal activity? They barely knew each other and he had already tried to record her once. Make it make sense. Stupidly, Frankie put her entire organization in danger for a stranger and she kept putting her organization in danger with her reckless decisions.
Also, the dialogue was cheesey and cringeworthy. Jeremy's dialogue was very repetitive and immature for someone who was a governor. He constantly called Frankie a psycho and unhinged. Like CONSTANTLY. I found myself wishing he would think of other insults. Even his dirty talk was repetitive and uninspired. There were a TON of s3x scenes but they were "meh", so I just started skipping right through them. I wasn't a fan of the degradation or the immediate submission Frankie gave Jeremy because as a mafia don, I don't see her willing to IMMEDIATELY give up control or be degraded. Maybe down the line, but not walked like a dog in the first s3x scene. He hadn't even proven himself to be a worthy adversary or her equal so it felt off.
Frankie's brother, Rome, was just as bad as Frankie but even more annoying. He constantly told Frankie she was too harsh and violent, and he also had his own instalove situation. Like Jeremy, the girl he fell for was a HUGE liability. The only tolerable character was Frankie's bodyguard, G. He told the siblings they were putting the organization in danger, but of course they ignored him because they were so in love...with strangers.
Overall, I thought the mafia aspect of this book was interesting but I quickly grew uninterested because I guessed the antagonist from the prologue and because there was s3x but no romance. Also, the characters just weren't smart, which was so disappointing. Frankie being able to commit violence with no hesitation is not all there is to being a strong FMC. In a mafia world, she should be strategic and intelligent, but she was the furthest thing from that. The only reason I'm giving this book 2 stars instead of 1 is because I finished it. But even the ending was a disappointment because it ends on a cliffhanger and nothing was really resolved. Such a waste of time.
Absolutely loved this book. It just kept getting better and better. I started % watching as I new I was coming to the end and I was like “No it cant be almost finished already” The author doesn't mess around either. You're thrown straight into the Mafia world and it doesn't slow down.
Frankie has been at her fathers side since she was 15. Shes his underboss. Shes knows the way this world works. Then suddenly shes the Don. But being female in a world of males isnt going to be easy. Especially as a Don. But for Frankie? Not a problem! Cross her, hurt her family or endanger her business at your own peril. She’s as lethal as they come. Probably a touch psychotic too. Then along comes the new Governor. Jeremy is strong, capable, irresistible and un-corruptible. But Frankie needs access to his docks so whats a girl to do?
This has an S&M relationship so non of that lovey dovey romance. Just Frankie burning your house down then rebuilding it. That’s love right? Lol
Cant wait for Rome and Elana’s story and I really hope G gets one to.
Omg i think this may be my favourite so far from Margaret!! It has it all... And then some! I had to take a moment.... If you've ever had to bury a parent and sit there at the service, and after, holding your sh*t together because the world is just waiting for you to fall apart... And then life keeps going, throwing BS hurdles in your face... I hope you found someone to hold you, to cry to and to understand what you need. Frankie did... In the most unconventional place. Frankie is a bad-B*TCH, born to rule over the mafia world and won't blink an eye at anything or anyone that stands in her way. She has morals and demands respect - everywhere except the bedroom 🥵. That ending ... Yes it's a cliffy & a damn good one. Well done Margaret... Brilliantly captivating read & I can't wait to see what comes next!!!

Just finished this and wow!!! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ The plot is overall pretty decent and the spice is on point. The FMC is the kickass mafia don and the the MMC is the soft politician she falls for. She’s in charge everywhere but their bedroom. I really appreciate that the author wrote Frankie (FMC) just like any other author would’ve wrote a male mob boss. It’s not like oh she’s in charge and bad ass, but like really she’s just whiny and annoying and still somehow needs everyone else to save her all the time. It’s kinda a standalone but not completely the cliffhanger at the end blends it over the her brothers story (which sadly isn’t out yet). I really loved reading a different power dynamic then in usual mafia dark romances.
My first read by this author and I had it done in a day! I was glued from the get-go and gutted when it ended, I can't wait to read more of her work.
Mob Queen is a change from the norm... A female Don and an honest male politician - talk about opposites attract!
I love Frankie as a person, the woman has b∆lls of steel, absolutely no fear and yet has a heart. Miller is a straight laces politician determined to rid the streets of all things mafia - until Frankie sets her sights on him and it soon becomes clear there's a connection between the two and it is smokin'!!
This is my first read from this author, and holy i can't wait to read more! This book grabbed my attention right at the first chapter and didn't let go until the end. Frank the mob queen, now she is bad a$$, she is harsh but effective and no one will stand in her way. Except when she meets the governor, he brings her to her knees almost unexpectedly. They definitely shouldn't be together, but holy this two heat these pages up! Can't wait for the next read!
This is the first book I have read by this author and it won’t be my last. Mob Queen is a little different from most Mafia romances I have read but this book gripped me from the first chapter. I wouldn’t say it romantic but I will say it very hot in a BDSM kind of way. Absolutely loved Frankie DeLuca and Jeremy Miller certainly is her equal in every way. This book ends on a cliffhanger and I definitely can’t wait for Rome and Elena’s book. 5 stars
Interesting concept - woman running the mafia and a incorrupt governor. But the execution wasn't great. First of all, why doesn't the governor have bodyguards? Secondly, they could just anonymously send messages instead of the governor doing it so he's not in the middle. Lastly, most of the book was focused on the mafia aspect and the sex. There was barely any romance.
I loved the fact that Frankie is the underboss to her father the head of the DeLuca mafia family. It was fast paced and had many aspects to keep you engaged. The dark drama you expect from a mafia story with plenty of twists along the way. Looking forward to reading more about the other characters.
You always read about a male Don or only men in Mafia Families. What if a woman were to rule? Frank is a BEAST. She is a true queen, and omg Miller 🔥 This entire book had me hooked from the get-go! The character development, the plot, the suspense, and of course the spice was 100% 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
Oooooo buddy! I LOVED this book. You just dive right into the story and there are literally no boring moments. Half spice and half plot kept it interesting. I also loved that she was the morally grey one and he was the good boy.
Can’t wait for Mob King to come out so we can finish the story from Rome’s POV.
I liked this new look on a woman being the mafia don. Frankie is a hard ass but she also has a big heart for her family and people that work for her. I can’t wait to see what happens next
We have the same last name and she’s a female mafia Don that’s a fucking slay. I liked how she says and do things a male in her position would do too. Writing is okay and im annoyed it ends on a cliff hanger. Second book isn’t out yet? No idea when it will be
Meh, I liked Frankie, the who done it element, the secondary character, and even the start of the relationship with miller. but it got really repetitive.
I thought this was fantastic!! A mob QUEEN?! And she handled herself like one! Demands respect and nothing less.... Unless it's inside the bedroom, and even then that's only with Jeremy!! Ooo man this was steamy and so good!!
Banter was great. Spice was SPICY. Love a FMC that's a total boss and gets shot done. Ending was entirely too abrupt And I was convinced my copy was missing a chapter 🤷🏻♀️
