Jessica Gadziala is a USA Today bestselling author who lives in rural New Jersey with her parrots, dogs, and an ever-growing collection of houseplants. A lifelong dreamer, she’s been writing stories since childhood and published her first book in 2015. When not at her desk, she’s usually feeding backyard birds, rewatching crime dramas, period pieces, and 90s supernatural TV shows, or adding to her towering stacks of unread books.
This, my friends, is a very hot surprise by Jessica Gadziala.
Yes, her books are all scorching hot, but this story is one level higher than the other books (or maybe two levels) 😉 🥵
Taming Scarlet is a story about a young, rich girl who loves attention, and being always present in social media gives her all the attention that she's looking for. But is that all she's looking for?
Scarlet is not what she appears at first glance. She's not just a pretty barbie who wants to be adored. She's a beautiful, very smart and calculated girl.
She's not what her new bodyguard has expected either. She's everything that drives her new bodyguard crazy, though. And not in a positive way, not at the beginning at least 😉 She's also not what the world thinks about her, either.
Do you want a glimpse into the world of the rich and spoiled? Are you curious about what you can do or precisely what nonsense you can do when you don't have any monetary limits? Do you want an insight into what her bodyguard is capable of, to tame Scarlet? 🥵 Or maybe is he doing it to save her from herself?
This is a scorching hot love romance. A must-read for all fans of romances with light BDSM scenes.
This is a qualified recommendation for those looking for an erotic romance. The big beats in this story are all tied to their s$& scenes, and there’s plenty (D/s, restraints, spanking, light breath play, b00ty play) to keep a reader looking for that entertained. My main issues with this are the scenes that could really given some good character development for both MCs are all tell rather than show. The focus is more on the sex than anything else, and the first one depends more on shock value rather than actually building their relationship organically. And more of an indictment on the influencer lifestyle? Idk just a vibe. I generally enjoy Ms. G’s writing, but I wished for more emotional content to go with all the kink.
Every once in a while, Jessica delivers us a standalone spicy treat. This is that treat.
The heroine, Scarlet, is a rich pampered social media sensation. But as with what I think is most social media influencers - what you see is not always what the person is. What's in Scarlets heart is not what she shows to the world which is a spoiled party girl.
Her father hires the latest in a long line of bodyguards hoping he will finally be the one to reel his daughter in. He has no idea how Julian decides to do just that.
Along with the spicy BDSM, there is also some suspense from a stalker. Where these two characters start out at the beginning of the book is not how they end up at the end. Lots of changes and growing for both.
dnf after one chapter which is absolutely ridiculous because the first chapter is just the set up that I already knew from the synopsis. But I honestly don't love the misunderstood poor little rich girl trope, it kind of stresses me out, and the first chapter is clear that he is going to go in with the wrong impression, which again, I kneeeeew going in. This is very much a me problem dnf, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the book or the set up.
It was a quick read. Leads us into a D/s relationship between our FMC heiress and her ex-military bodyguard, where he ensures she behaves herself through submission. 🌶️⛓️
Jessica Gadziala has done it again, creating a story that sucks you in and gives you warm fuzzies at the end. Scarlet and Julian are 🔥 and I especially appreciated the thoughtful approach to BDSM in this book (as if Jessica would do it any other way). The steamy scenes followed by after care and connection gives the characters depth and authenticity. I’m always for character growth, too, and our FMC finds her power throughout the book, with Julian there to support her.
For anyone who is curious about BDSM, this is a good one to get a sense of what it’s really about. And for those who already know, delight in the sizzle that Julian and Scarlet have 🔥
Whew….talk about an awesome and quick read! Another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read in the books! Check out my Instagram review here

Be ready to fall in love with Scarlet & Julian!
He’s a bodyguard that’s been offered 7 figures by a billionaire to keep his spoiled heiress daughter out of the limelight. She jumps from club to club and is a social media influencer who has amassed a huge following; however, everything is fake. She puts on the glitz and glam for her followers and immediately takes off the mask once the phone is down.
In comes Julian. He sees right through her facade. Julian isn’t the first bodyguard hired for this job. All others have come and gone. Not Julian though. He sees what she needs. Someone who will hold her accountable for her actions.
This story follows their romance and Jessica very delicately approaches BDSM, which I appreciate since I’ve read some books that are hardcore and fast.
Ohh Scarlet and Julian had me worried for a quick sec but all was resolved very swiftly and mannnnn. This one is SPICY.
Scarlet comes off as your typical rich spoilt brat at first. However as their journey progresses you see that she is very much a victim of her circumstance. She isn't shallow or unkind but she has always been given things to keep her happy, puffed up with superficial lovings and surrounded by not real friends. It's not the same as good love, attention and actually listening to the person. She is sweet and a little broken and lost and its sad to see that for someone surrounded by so much and so many she really was stood by herself.
Julian is not in the business of taking bull and dealing with a stuck up airy prinny. The money made him do it. Honestly I totally imagined him huffin and puffin about the bull he was about to be put through for the large wage at the end. This mans patience does not go far and frankly it took him all of two minutes to snap and crack the whip.. literally. He's strong and a solid support. He cares without floundering with all the fancies. He see's more than just the image presented and I was here for him pulling back the covers and finding the honey pot under it.
These two had me in all kinds of knots. The chemistry is insane but there is also a huge clash of personalities as they battle through the dynamic to find the peace under the crazy. It wasn't all smooth sailing for Julian and Scarlet but I loved that once they hit it off that was it. They were it for one another even if the drama came from outside sources.
I thought I knew who the creep would be but our girl Jessie pulled out a shocker and I was not here for that kind of desperation. Creep 3000.
What a way to round the story off though. She served us a little of everything in this spicy little number. I do love when she gives us her passion projects because it so different to the norm whilst maintaining her style and flare.
I can't wait for the next saucy number.. I wonder if it will be one of the wild ladies like Drea ? I would love more!! especially with the clubs being mentioned at the end.
I thoroughly enjoyed Taming Scarlet and really liked getting to know these characters and watch them fall in love.
Julian is hot! He’s former military hired to watch out for Scarlet, a billionaires daughter who spends the majority of her time acting out for attention from her social media accounts. He never could have anticipated the way his body would react to her or how he would instantly want to protect and care for her. Julian quickly clues in that the Scarlet she is at home versus the one she shows the world are different people. Scarlet is lonely and soon realizes that for the first time she can remember someone is actually there who cares about her.
Julian and Scarlet develop a deep trust for one another. He takes the time to ask questions and get to know her and it makes their relationship that much stronger. They’re really pretty sweet together..
Scarlet has a couple of close friends that I really like whose stories are left open. I’m hoping this means that JG might possibly write their stories as well. This would be great since we didn’t get an epilogue and I’d love to catch up with Julian and Scarlet and see how they are doing.
The talented, fabulous, ingenious Jessica Gadziala has hit it out of the park again! Scarlet’s spoiled, bratty, privileged existence absolutely cries out for some semblance of order and purpose. Scarlet drifts from club to club at night with her equally beautiful, vacuous sidekicks (calling them “friends” is a bit of a push), while incessantly posting her staged and kind of pretentious nonsense on social media. Her father, a serious businessman, is concerned about her tendency towards scandal and offers an extremely highly paid assignment to Julian. The live-in job is less bodyguard and more babysitting, but Julian can’t argue with the 7-figure compensation. What happens when he finds out Scarlet isn’t the kid he pictured but probably the most beautiful woman in the world? You’ve GOT to read this to find out!
A stand alone romance about a rich spoiled girl and her bodyguard who turns into her dom. Nicely written dom/sub relationship here with great attention paid to trust, care taking, and all the other responsible parts of this sort of relationship. An example of the way the MMC thinks,
“Or, I added silently, to find a man who didn’t base his worth on his income, and wasn’t intimidated by a woman who was never going to need him financially. Because he knew his worth was in what he provided emotionally.”
Honestly, where are the guys who think this way in RL? He certainly didn't learn it in boot camp. I was glad that at least one of her friends turned out to be real.
This book was fire!! It was So good! I loved the story, and the spice was off the charts!
Scarlet is a social media queen with her own brand. She is rich, spoiled, and definitely a party girl! Julian is hired by her father to be her bodyguard, and well baby sitter. Julian decided that she needs to learn how to behave, and that’s when the story gets Hot!
Yes, there is a ton of spice in this book, and it is all written really weak. But it also has a really good story with it. You don’t always find that in this type of book. I thought it was absolutely fantastic. And I’m hoping there can eventually be stories about the friends!
This was a deliciously dirty BDSM lite surprise!! The title says it all. Scarlett is young, rich, entitled and spoiled. When her new uber hot bodyguard comes on the scene he quickly realizes that she runs much deeper than she appears and sets out to help her realize that as well. Of course, he does this by taking control, demanding obedience and breaking down her emotional walls. All while giving her fantastic orgasms!! Need I say more?
The level of sexiness reminds me of her book Don’t Come. If you enjoyed that book you will love this one too! If you haven’t read Don’t Come, then do yourself a favor and read them both!
I've been reading Jessica's books for years now and since I usually really enjoy her stories I couldn't wait to start this one since it was out. Don't get me wrong. . . I still enjoy Jessica's writing but this story was kind of bland. . .
I was expecting more not only from the story but also from the characters. Overall this wasn't a bad read but I can't say it wasn't something that memorable 🤷♀️ or maybe I had big expectations and that's why I ended up not enjoying it as much as I was expecting. . .
Always a Winner in my Heart 💜 Jessica never disappoints her readers - always embracing her books with all her heart & giving such great Escapes . You can’t help but read them like a bag of chips one after another. I’m so grateful I found Reign back in the day - once I read him I was hooked !
Jessica is a FAVORITE GO TOO :) Like a warm blanket on a cold night ! The balm to the soul. To ease the mind and let you breathe as you read the life of her characters unfold !
BOOKHugs 🥰 ! Even if you aren’t into the BDSM LIFE , this book is written w/care ! Not overboard.
I went in not expecting a whole lot. I adore Jessica's books so it's always an instant download for me. I loved this book. I have read other bdsm books but generally lose interest and tap out half way thru. This kept my attention all the way thru. I think it had a lot to do with the characters and their journey together. I felt like they truly fit together. You should read this if your looking for a good story, great characters and just a love story that naturally develops.
At the beginning of this story, Scarlet is rich, wild, quite obnoxious and indeed lost. In steps a new bodyguard, one in a line of many hired by her father, only this time he's not a quitter. This is a great story by Jessica Gadziala, slightly different but as always, well written with great characters. I liked Scarlet and she was written really well with her bewilderment at her life very believable. Falling for her bodyguard was inevitable really but Julian has a strong moral compass that again was written well. Good story
So I love this. So much so that I actually wish this was a longer book. Or even maybe a duet? Like I feel that there could’ve have been more packed into the story. BUT that being said, I love it as is also. A FANTASTIC view into kink and dom/sub relationships. I seriously hope we get to hear about some of the side characters too! They def need books of their own! As always, 5 amazing stars :)
I should know better by now LOL every time I read one of these BDSM books I'm always disappointed. There's no relationship character building. It's nothing but the female being humiliated and abused and of course she loves it. What woman doesn't want to be beat before she has sex, seriously. I wanted to leave at one star but out of respect for the authors warnings I left too I wish someone could get one of these books right so it would be an actual Romance.
Jessica Gadziala's writing brings her characters to life. They behave and respond, think and feel as real people with strengths and vulnerabilities, humor and angst. All her characters seem like someone you might meet any day on the street. When finishing one of her books I always feel I've made new friends.
All the feels with this one. Just take a day or two off because you aren't going to want to put it down. The taming of Scarlet is going to make you wish you were a brat too.
The story of Scarlett, the bratty billionairess and her bodyguard Julian is full of steam, but not much else. The story is too short to build a plausible story, and things get hopping almost immediately. But, sometimes, you just need some mindless smut 😉
Plenty of spice and lots of love- love this new stand alone from Jessica Gadziala-a departure from her usual and a great job! I hope to see some more stories about Scarlet's circle of billionaire friends.
I’ve learned to never underestimate J.G. (she is my favorite author for a reason) yet she never fails to surprise me. This book is hot hot hot and Julien is 🧑🍳💋
Not my fave JG book but it was okay. I didn’t feel anything from Scarlet other than she was vapid. Which I get was her “thing” but I just didn’t connect with her.
