The grass isn't always greener on the other side. Sometime it is just darkness that waits for you.

Natalie

At forty-one, finding myself divorced from the love of my life was not on the agenda. It would be much simpler if I didn't keep bumping into Matt, but Fellside is a small town. What's even worse than crossing paths with him is doing it with my new boyfriend in tow. It irks me when Matt tries to convince me that my new guy is wrong for me, but I'm slowly starting to wonder if he might have a point.

Matt
Divorce? Wasn't my idea. She wanted an out, and all I could do was give it to her. Doesn't mean I stopped loving her. Somewhere in the back of my mind, there's always this hope she might come back. That is, until I spot her with her date; it's clear as day that this guy isn't good enough for her. How do I make her see sense and, just maybe, give us another shot?

For such a small book it sure delivered a punch. Matt and Nat have been divorced for a while now. Matt still hasn't gotten over it, because despite the divorce he still loves her. Being back home is hard without her but he thinks as long as she's happy it's OK. But when he sees her with her boyfriend, he knows something is off. And when she comes to him, bruised and bloody, he's there for her all the way.

Getting back together is the goal but she needs to heal first. And when she finally decided that the only place she wnats to be is in his arms, all was right with the world.

ARC Review: 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice Level: 3 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Release Date: October 1st.
This novella really packed a punch, I could not put it down. With the FMC and the MMC already previously married and divorced to one another really set the tone in the prologue. Loved the little quirks the MMC has about Ghostbusters. This was really such a good read for the season, especially with Halloween right around the corner. The story was perfectly paced, and not rushed at all. It was cohesive and showed how much chemistry the two characters have. The spice between these two was amazing to see was consistent over the amount of time that had gone by.
Always check the Trigger Warnings before reading as this novella has included on-page Domestic Violence (DV).
Thank you again for the ARC!

Elusive Embrace is a short and spicy novella that starts with a bang (literally) and takes you on a beautiful journey of second chances and finding love again. Even with this being a novella, Dani did a great job tackling a sensitive subject and unfolding the characters’ journey back to each other. I can’t wait to adventure back to Fellside.

I received an ARC copy and wanted to leave an honest review.

The third book in the Greenview Manor Tales series is out now! Thank you to Dani and Happily Booked PR for the eARC

Tropes:
🐱MC's in their 40's
🐱second chance at first love
🐱MCs are divorced from each other
🐱romantic suspense
🐱*TW* domestic violence (not by MC)

After being married for six years, Matt and Natalie are coming up on 10 years of being divorced, though Matt didn't want it the first time around. When Matt moves back to Fellside to take over the local vet practice, the two of them are back in each other's orbits. Can Matt prove that they are meant to be together, once and for all?

I've really enjoyed reading all of the books in the Greenview Manor series, and Elusive Embrace is no different. I loved being able to see Matt and Natalie fall in love again after falling out of love when they finalized their divorce. You can clearly tell how much each of them loved, and still love, each other, but circumstances are really what force them apart the first time. And once Matt is really back in Fellside, it was like the universe were pushing them back toward each other to justify and PROVE that they were really meant to be, but as young individuals, it just wasn't the right time yet and the best circumstances for them to get their HEA.

Of course, the only thing I wished was the at the book was longer to appreciate the rekindling of their relationship more! There are definitely some trigger warnings, especially for domestic violence, so be sure to check trigger warnings before starting the book if there is anything that may affect you!

Natalie and Matt were once happily married until they weren't. Now they are divorced, and years later, they find themselves living in the same smalltown of Fell Side. Matt never wanted the divorce, but since Nat wanted it, he gave it to her, hoping that one day they could reconcile. When he sees her on a date one night, he gets a bad vibe off her boyfriend. Matt tries to tell Nat how he feels about her new boyfriend, but she doesn't want to take his advice. But Nat soon realizes that maybe Matt was right all along.

Elusive Embrace is the third novella in the Greenview Manor series, and like the others, it has some potential triggering topics in it, so please read the TWs if you have any triggers. Natalie and Matt were college roommates turned lovers who later married. After only six years, their marriage ended, and they parted ways. Their paths don't cross again until they are in their early forties when Matt moves back to town to accept a job. Nat turns to Matt in a time that she needs him the most, and he helps her with no questions asked. Matt is supportive, patient, and there for Natalie every step of the way as she heals. You can feel the love between these two, and I'm so glad they got their second chance. This is such a raw, emotional novella and my favorite of the Greenview Manor series so far.

I was lucky enough to receive this book as an ARC, this book is a quick read that has a small amount of spice. The story although it is a quick read Dani Elias has jam packed this book with lots of info on the main characters which makes it easy to follow on, I loved reading about the main characters and there journey. The banter between the main characters makes you want more and I love how supportive and understanding the main male character is. This book does discuss topics that can be very triggering for some so I do recommend reading the trigger warning before hand, (I do have to say I love how Dani Elias has put some important helpline numbers you can call for some countries with the trigger warning at the start of the book) although this book does have some trigger warnings it was written beautifully and respectfully.

Dani has done it again. I haven’t read a book in around 9 months due to being pregnant with twins and having no energy. Well the twins are now here and I desperately wanted to get back my reading mojo and knew that Dani wouldn’t disappoint and I was right!

Natalie is a loving, introverted bookworm who falls for her housemate. Life takes them both on a path together that doesn’t necessarily work out and she ends up with Al… (insert angry face). Dani deals very delicately with the topic of domestic abuse and I commend her for being able to do it justice.

Life does a 360 for Natalie and as always, a happy ending does nothing but make you smile. Dani, you have given me my reading mojo back and I cant thank you enough for it. I may just need to go back and read the Fellside Mountain Rescue series too! ❤️

This was such a great second chance romance! After years apart, Natalie and Matt are once again in the same small town. Matt may have never given up on Nat, but when he needs her new beau, he instantly has major concerns.

Natalie can't believe how much of a reaction she still has to her ex, Matt. But she's moved on, right? And sure, her new boyfriend can get angry sometimes and she's pretty sure she will never love him....but it's fine....right?

Romantic and intimate in the most important ways, this one really hit the nail on the head. I also really appreciated the amount of resources in the front of the book - this is such an important thing to address, especially when dealing with the topic in a book.

Elusive Embrace is book 3 in the Greenview Manor Tales. This book can be read as a stand-alone but there are characters mentioned from previous books.

Have you ever run into an ex, with the new partner with you? Is it ever not awkward? Of course small towns are perfect for running into people, whether you want to or not!

I enjoyed Matt and Natalie’s story. This is a quick read, second chance in a small town setting romantic suspense. This book is a perfect read for the right people stay in your life for the right reasons! Check out the trigger warnings prior to reading.

Thank you to the author, Dani Elias, and Happily Booked PR for the opportunity to read to this book. I received an epub for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Just finished reading Elusive Embrace and it was a journey! We’re back in the charming small town of Fellside, where we meet two new characters, Matt and Natalie. These two lovers find their way back to each other after a failed marriage, and it was so heartwarming to see their personal growth.

Matt learns that being present for his family matters more than chasing success, while Natalie embraces the power of speaking up for her own needs. However, this is a tough read, especially if you’ve experienced abusive relationships—so please be cautious.

That said, the story reminds us of the importance of seeking help and finding a supportive network. A powerful message for anyone who’s been through hard times. 🌻

I discovered Elusive Embrace with both the audio and the ebook. Even though it’s a short one (150 pages), this is a steamy one, starting at the prologue, as it’s a second chance story. Like the other books in this series (this is the 3rd book, but they can be read as standalones without problem), it’s dual POV, and narrated by Jack Hart. I loved the vet/bookworm trope (once upon a time, I was both ^^), but what I liked the most was how the author deals with domestic abuse (not between MC’s), even though the short format doesn’t allow to develop a lot, especially about the new communication developing between Hannah and Matt, as much as their resurfacing feelings. In any case, I loved how they trust each other, and how they care from one to another. I had a lovely time with this story!

Tropes: second chance, it’s always been you, small town, strangers to soulmates
TW: DV

Elusive embrace is a sweet and spicy novella which tells the story of Natalie and Matt who reconnect after their marriage ended.

I really enjoyed this book! I love that this story starts off with a literal bang 😏 and how their relationship comes full circle. The ghostbusters references were great and I definitely wished it was longer. I also enjoyed how Natalie handled the immediate aftermath of her abusive ex-boyfriend- I don’t want to say much more about that because of spoilers though.

My only complaint is the recurrent use of the word “tummy”. It’s cute once or twice, but I wish the author had used some other words too. Highly recommend!

I love a second chance romance especially when both people truly still love each other and grow and know they deserve a second chance. Matt and Natalie were young when they got married and him being in veterinary school and trying to succeed in his career made them grow apart. They divorce amically but never really stopped thinking about the other. Ten years go by and Matt returns to town. Natalie has a boyfriend that is abusive and Matt helps her.

I am really enjoying the Greenview manor tales and Elusive Embrace is a great addition to the series. This was a great second chance romance, even though it was a quick read it is an emotional roller coaster. The storyline and character development was done well. The book is fast paced so it makes a great afternoon read. Since the story takes place around Halloween the release has great timing to make this a perfect cozy read.
Definitely recommend to those who enjoy second chance romances.

It’s respectable to learn how Matt is so patient towards Natalie & Natalie is such a strong, brave woman even through all her traumatic experiences! 🖤 Heartstrings pulled in the beginning but Matt & Natalie never knew they needed each other the most!

Super easy, quick read and falls right with the autumn 🍂 season. My favorite, Halloween 👻

This book dealt with a little heavier topic of DV than Dani's other books. Make sure to check trigger warnings for this one.

I enjoyed this book. I really liked Natalie. She was sweet and didn't deserve what happened to her in this book.

Matt was super sweet and I love how he protected Natalie even though they weren't together.

I enjoy Dani's book, but I just wish they were longer. I know that's a good thing to complain about for a book, but I just wish they were longer to put in more detail and round out the story more so it didn't feel rushed.

This books come out October 1st! Make sure you get it! ☺️

“As long as I’m with him, Matt doesn’t seem to think doing nothing together is a waste of time.”

~Novella
~Romantic suspense*
~Second chance (they were married!!!)
~Small town setting

After divorcing Matt for not being there when she needed, Natalie is in a new relationship years later. Matt has also moved back into town. When Natalie's relationship becomes dangerous, she runs to Matt for refuge. He is so glad to have her back, but he knows that he can't have her the way he wants.

I have read all of Dani's novella's so far and this is easily my favorite. It felt a little different than the others--more intense, deeper, but so so real. Sometimes novella's can feel a little rushed but this one was the perfect balance of a quick read, but fully plotted; I honestly almost wish this was a full book.

*Spoiler: this book does contain on-page scenes of domestic violence. Please read with care <3

Another super quick read by the author.
With plenty of spice, a fast second chance romance following divorced couple Nat & Matt. Matt is home and finds his ex Nat in a not so pleasant relationship with her boyfriend, Matt can’t help but give her the help she desperately needs to escape it.

Quick, spicy, HEA type of romance that id definitely recommend to others!

"The grass isn't always greener on the other side. Sometime it is just darkness that waits for you."

Elusive Embrace is book three in the greenview manor series, they can be read as standalones but I advise to read them together, as they have interconnected characters and worlds. This time we get to meet Natalie and Matt and what a story it was.

It's a fast paced novella, that's super quick and spicy. I couldn't put it down once I started, it was a crazy rollercoaster ride, that packed a punch. that's filled with action, drama, danger, spice, suspense, and so much more. I always love how Dani writes her characters and the journey they take. I'm always captived and never disappointed.

I adored Nat and Matt , I instantly took to them I just couldn't get enough. These are two souls mates that are just destined to be together. You can see it from a mile away. But they where married once and now divorced, but none of them wanted that but it happened anyways , they both still have love for each other. After so long Matt moves back and now they bump into each other all the time. Matt warns her about her new boyfriend, but she don't really listen and then realises he was right. She turns up at his door worse for wear and Matt will do anything for her.

Witnessing them fall in love all over again and seeing their growth was beautiful. Even know sometimes the road was bumpy and tragic, it lead them back to each other. And they got that second chance at happiness.

I can't wait to read more in this series, highly recommend!

We're back for another chapter in the Greenview Manor series, and I am loving it. This second chance romance is so sweet and endearing. Natalie and Matt start off as roommates/ friends who discover they have feelings for each other and fall in love. However, we find out that although they did get married, they ended up divorced. Now that some time has passed, Matt has come back to Fellside, and it's only a matter of time before they see each other again. Matt feels like he missed out on the love of his life and when he meets her new boyfriend, he's more than a little concerned about where she ended up.

This was such a great second chance romance. I adored both Matt and Natalie, and I loved seeing how their story unfolded. Shorter books can be so hard to capture the true essence of a story and draw the reader in because you have so much less time to develop the characters and relationships, but I was pulled into this one right away. DV is a serious issue, and although I'm glad that it is talked about in books, it can be a very sensitive subject for anyone who has experienced it. I really appreciate the time and care put into putting all of the trigger warnings and resources at the beginning of this book.

Thank you to Dani Elias for an advanced reader's copy of this book.

This is an overdue review but i am finally able to review this wonderful book by Dani Elias ‘Elusive Embrace’.

This story is a short novella that i was able to finish once i got the chance to. Although it was short it was the best story I have read in a while from a small novella.

I really loved how this book touched on the elements of domestic violence and how healing takes time after coming out of a relationship of that dark level.

The story follows the characters Natalie and Matt who have been college best friends who get a second chance.

Natalia is a strong-willed character. I really like how her personality was so realistic that at some points, I felt like she was a real being that I was stepping into and watching her life. It really hurt me at instances when I was so scared, but relieved when i noticed that she had so many people behind her supporting her.

Matt is a walking green flag, and that is an understatement. He was a strong willed man that didnt give up on what he wanted and was super understanding of what Natalie was going through.

I loved how both characters after so long still loved each other so much that they were allowing each other the space and time needed before jumping into it together.

I loved this book so much and I loved how real it was

Elusive Embrace by Dani Elias is a quick small town novella. Matt and Natlaie were roomates turned lovers, but 6 years later they had married and divorced. Matt never fought for her and she just wanted him and not what his career as a top Veterinarian could bring them. 10 years later Matt returns to Fellside to take over a Veterinarian practice. When he is reunited with Natalie the pull is still there but she is with another man now. Matt knows this man is not a good person, and deep down Natalie knows it too. One tragic and horrible night, Natalie flees the house and runs to Matt where she has always found comfort and safety. Matt will do anything to keep her safe.

This was a well written novella and I want to warn readers to check the trigger warnings before reading. That being said, I am thrilled with the way that Dani wrote this book and the care that she gave the characters. It was realistic, and full of love and healing. Sometimes we forget that healing takes time and we might not ever be fully free of a traumatic experience, but love and patience make it better.

Thank you Dani for writing such a sweet and caring novella about the power of patience, love and second chances.

This is the third installment in the greenview manor tales, which like I always say you don’t need to read the previous books to understand the next one but I highly recommend it!!

I also recommend checking trigger warnings for this one because it has on page domestic violence (not by the mmc) ⚠︎

Natalie and Matt were college roommates turned lovers who later married but after 6 years together their marriage ended. Matt didn’t want to get divorced but since it was was Nat wanted he gave it to her.

They don’t see each other anymore until Matt moves back to Fellside for a new job. One night they were out clubbing and ended up talking, when he saw Nat’s boyfriend he knew he was bad news and tried telling her but she didn’t want to acknowledge it until it was too late.

Even though this is a novella it has so much going on and it was so well done that I finish it in one sitting. You can see the love they still have for each other even when it’s been years since they were together. I loved how supportive Matt was and how she could get out of that toxic relationship.

I really enjoyed seeing characters from the Fellside mountain series, Matt cats, and the little tradition/obsession he had with ghostbusters.

This is perfect for the fall season! 🍂

I really like how this author is able to crafts such great stories with fully developed and lovable characters in under 200 pages. 𝐄𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 is only about 130 pages but, in those few pages we are told a beautifully complex and inspirational love story.

Natalie and Matt are two people who met, fell in love, and thought they had forever. Life, however, had other plans. They go their separate ways, but the love, the passion, and the chemistry between them remained. When they come back into each other’s lives 10 years after divorce, it is no surprise that they are once again drawn to one another. But, there is something dark, ugly and dangerous lurking in the background that threatens to keep these two souls that are destined for each other, apart forever.

Second chance romances have always been a favorite of mine, and the story was written by one of my favorite authors, so I knew I would enjoy 𝐄𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞, but my oh my, did this story take me on a roller coaster of emotions! Seeing Nat and Matt go from being college roommates, seeing their first kiss, seeing how their happily ever after turned into divorce and then seeing what Nat had to go through in her new relationship…wow! For such a short and quick read, this book was so much more than I expected.

𝐄𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 does discuss DV (not between the MCs) so please read with care.

I appreciated the way the author took her time to tell this story with such care and attention while tackling this difficult subject. It was good to see that while the author does show what it’s like to be in such a relationship, she also discusses the aftermath and how friends, family and the community can come together to be a haven and support.

While others in her community surrounded Nat during this difficult time in her life, Matt, the man that she divorced but never stopped loving, was her true hero. I just loved Matt in this story. He was so patient, understanding, and helpful to Nat, giving her the strength and encouragement she needed to get out of her bad relationship. This was a story of healing and strength through love and I just cannot say enough about how much I loved Matt and Nat in this story. It was an inspirational love story for sure.

I did listen to the audiobook. Though this story is told using dual POVs, it is narrated by a single person. I was a little apprehensive about this but trust me when I say that Jack Hart, the narrator, did a phenomenal job with the narration. You forget that there is only one person narrating because of the way he was able to embody both Matt and Nat, and even the secondary characters, while telling the story. Never once did I confuse the characters or wonder who was speaking. The single narration does not take away from the plot at all.

Overall, this was a beautifully written story that I highly recommend. Again, check the TWs.

ELUSIVE EMBRACE - Dani Elias
Release date: October 1, 2024
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

"The grass isn't always greener on the other side. Sometime it is just darkness that waits for you."
