You are more than a body. You will live forever somewhere. God is on a divine rescue mission to make sure your " forever" is safe with Him! If you enjoy being loved; if you enjoy gifts; if you care about where you will spend forever; and if you want to know the true message of the Bible, then you must read this book! Where will you spend forever? You owe this question some investigation.
Do you believe in Baptist theology? Do you enjoy sermon illustrations? Are you in middle school? If you've answered YES, then fortunately for you you'll love this book! Unfortunately for me I am none of these three things so I did not enjoy this book. The moment he "dared" the reader to pray I knew I was in trouble 😵💫 cringe level 10,000. Many parts of this book felt borderline manipulative towards impressionable youngsters. The illustrations were so plentiful it felt impossible to count them all even though it's a small book. And lastly the theology is that of the Christian denomination Baptist. Even though he is a Baptist, he stated that religion is "cold" and Christianity is instead "relational". Yes, our relationship with God IS relational, but Christianity is also a religion. Those who state otherwise are bordering on the edge of mixing new age with the Christian faith. That's something I simply cannot get behind.
This book clarifies faith in Jesus is its simplest form, as it states that in all the world, there are only two religions: “do” and “done.” This is a wonderful tool for explaining the gospel without clouding it with all the divisions that are man-made, through various religions and denominations.
This is a helpful little book that gives one a good understanding of the gospel. It is written for unbelievers but would also be helpful for anyone seeking to share the gospel well. I did think some of his language was a tad awkward (addressing the reader as "friend", but overall not bad.
Excellent explanation of the Gospel. I've been using the first edition of Done by Cary Schmidt for years. I appreciate the updated version. These books make great gifts for first-time visitors or friends.
