✨The Wrath and Mercy of Stonehaven✨

Good grief, Alicia gives us NO breaks from the action, pain, and suspense in this sequel to The Rise and Fall of Everwood!!

We begin right where we left off from book one, following Eva and Cillian as they try to bring peace between their warring, post apocalyptic communities. But Eva’s home is still invaded by General Rush, her dad and crew hopefully alive, and now Cillian’s community hates her. Enemies are everywhere and Mother Nature is angry, but found family and plot twists are here to balance it all out.

TWAMOS is a wonderful continuation and ending for Eva and Cillian. We get lots of spice, sweet moments, grief tear jerkers, and action in this shorter read. I enjoyed my time and am excited for what comes next after that epilogue!

Tropes you may find in TWAMOS are found family, established relationship, medium high spice, wolf friend, fallout vibes, touch her and 💀, and feminine rage.

Thank you to Alicia for this gifted arc. It’s been a pleasure to be an arc reader for you for the third time!

Alicia, what can I say? Well, first of all, thank you! Thank you again for having me as your ARC reader and for gifting me the opportunity to witness the conclusion of Cillian and Eva's story! Their story has wrapped up beautifully, and even though I cried many times while reading, it was all worth it. Eva and Cillian went through so much in The Wrath and Mercy of Stone Haven, so much pain and heartbreak, and it was so empowering seeing them both rise above and fight for what is right. Alicia has managed to write a story of love, devotion, hurt, betrayal, anger, and the need to find light in the dark, and she has executed it all beautifully.

The Wrath and Mercy of Stone Haven is being released on November 20th, giving you plenty of time to read The Rise and Ruin of Everwood, Book 1 in Alicia's post-apocalyptic series, On The Hills of Hope.

I truly enjoyed The Rise and Ruin of Everwood. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic world that is broken, destroyed, and on the verge of completely ruining itself. What is left of mankind is divided into small settlements, trying to navigate and survive in the harsh and unforgiving environment. We mostly follow the story of two settlements - Everwood and Stone Haven- that have existed in a state of conflict for over a decade.

But I can honestly say that the first sentence of The Wrath and Mercy of Stone Haven captured my heart. Captured, locked it, and tossed the key. The sequel perfectly wrapped up everything; it was even more action-packed, filled with gut-wrenching moments of pain, anxiety, and heartbreak. I was glued to my reader and invested in everything happening. This time, it was more than just Cillian and Eva; I needed to have their entire found family safe and secure. Oh, but the amount of tears I have shed, both of joy and sorrow. Still, I would do it all again, just to have the ending Alicia's gifted us. And now, I am so excited for what's to come next.

Thank you so much to @aliciamorgan_books for the eARC copy of this book! 🫶🏼

𝗕𝗟𝗨𝗥𝗕: This one picks right up where the first book in the series left off. Eva & Cillian have decided to marry to create peace between Eva’s community, Everwood & Cillian’s community, Stone Haven. The members of Stone Haven are having a difficult time being able to trust Eva given that they have always been enemies. Cillian will do anything & everything to protect Eva against his own community members. Eva’s home has still been invaded & conquered by General Rush, who is now planning on conquering Stone Haven as well. Eva & Cillian come up with a plan to take back Everwood & to keep all who call Everwood home, safe.

𝗠𝗬 𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦: I really enjoyed this sequel of the On the Hills of Hope series! It had everything you would want from a post-apocalyptic romance. It had action, spice, drama, tear jerker, & heroic moments throughout. You really get to experience the romance & connection between Eva & Cillian in this one. The way that they care for each other & will do anything to keep each other safe & protected makes their relationship so special. I loved Eva’s heroic moments & how bada** she truly is as a leader & fighter. If you enjoy post-apocalyptic romance, this one is for you!

Thank you so much Alicia Morgan for the eARC of The Wrath and Mercy of Stone Haven. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

About 6 months ago, I was fortunate enough to receive an eARC of The Rise and Ruin of Everwood and I absolutely loved it! When the opportunity for me to read the sequel, The Wrath and Mercy of Stone Haven, came my way, I jumped at the chance to continue the story. I’m so glad I did because the end of Eva and Cillian’s story is both romantic and action packed!

The Wrath and Mercy of Stone Haven picks up right where The Rise and Ruin of Everwood left off, which I appreciated. The characters in the dystopian story are still trying to survive an utterly unpredictable Mother Earth, while at the same time, trying to secure their safety from the new leadership in Everwood. Although things at time seem bleak, author Alicia Morgan infused the perfect amount of romance, friendship, and spice to balance out the all the challenges the MCs faced.

As you all know, I’m here for the romance and The Wrath and Mercy of Stone Haven did not disappoint! I was completely charmed by Cillian and Eva’s slow burn romance in the first installment and was so happy to read more about their love story in book two. Although both Eva and Cillian are fierce warriors and protectors, they both a cinnamon rolls for each other and I simply couldn’t get enough of them on the page!

Though I adored Cillian and Eva, I found myself drawn to Cillian’s brother, Liam, as I read the book. This poor man had a lot to deal with through the story and I couldn’t help but cheer him on each time her made an appearance. Lucky for me, his story doesn’t end here! Alicia Morgan will be continuing his story in a spinoff novel titled The Fury of the Crowned Hunter and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for him!

In the pages, you will find:

2️⃣Dual POV
😡”Who did this to you?”
🗡️Revenge
🗺️A gorgeous map
🤝Found Family
🌎A dystopian forest setting
👰‍♀️”My wife”
🌶️Spice
❤️Romance
📖A great end to the On the Hills of Hope Duology

The Wrath and Mercy of Stone Haven

This book was one hell of a ride. Like literally Alicia didn’t give us a moment to breathe and process the action. I was sitting at the edge of my seat with this one. The last half of the book was impossible to put down. It picked up right after where book one The Rise and Ruin of Everwood leaves. The relationship between Cillian and Eva develops and it’s beautiful. The found family trope here gives you faith in human kind. Some things are so hard to adjust to, yet in this book you see how the characters evolve and become stronger than ever to achieve the end game. There is love, loss, friendship, family ties and heart ache. All intertwined in a gorgeous world that will leave you wanting more for the other characters. This book was action packed and I simply loved it as much as I loved the first book. Eva is one strong female character and she is so resilient. It shows what great stony woman are made of. Always being the HOPE in the world.

My favorite quotes

“I pledge myself to you. My oath is not for a season and will not fall like the leaves from the trees in autumn.”

“I wanted more than anything to belong to you.”

“This love I feel for you … it brings me to my knees- I will worship you in this life and the next.”

“Angel from the front, vixen from the back.”

“Do you think there is a place you could run to that I would not follow?”

“I hate to break it to you, Angel, but you are my home.”

“Would be your sword and shield, if you would only let me.”

“What would you do when all is lost?” “Be the hope.”

“When fate calls, we will answer with the voice of a thousand echoes. You are the people of the ledge- you fear nothing!”

5 stars out of 5.
2 red peppers out of 5 spice.

Genre: Post-Apocalyptic
Dual POV/Third Person

The Wrath and Mercy of Stonehaven is the second in Alicia Morgan's On the Hills of Hope series. It picks up where The Rise and Ruin of Everwood left off, and continues with the fast pace that was set in book one. It continues to follow Eva and Cillian's POV, providing more depth to the characters and showing growth in how the characters view each other and others.

With the fast pacing, the story stays on course for the plot through the majority of the story, keeping additional world building that wasn't already introduced in book one to a minimum. There isn't too much deviation from the main objective with the characters, so don't expect too much side questing.

We see some familiar faces in this book, but are also introduced to some new faces that are easy to get attached to quickly. I actually might be more interested in Liam's journey in the next book just from the three pages I read previewing there's going to be a third book!

This story pulled at my heartstrings a few times throughout the book, which is always what I love from a story. Put me in my feels! It brings the story to life. I won't spoil what kind of feels you may get, but there are multiple feels. Enjoy!

If you're looking for a post-apocalyptic story, On The Hills of Hope - while it has a third book coming out, is also a duology for Eva and Cillian and is, in a way, a completed story for these two characters, as book three is going to move to a different character. It gives me a mix of Hunger Games and Revolution vibes, for fans of either of those stories.

The Wrath and Mercy of Stone Haven, is the one book you are going to want to read before the end of the year, especially if you love books that take place in a post apocalyptic world. It is a dystopian romance, that will have you contemplating your society and values. In my opinion, this book is not for the faint of heart, as some of the things mentioned within the pages of this book may be hard on your mental health. I always, go into my books blind, I did find myself in a vulnerable place, while reading The Wrath and Mercy of Stone. As, one of the characters experiences the loss of their father. However, with that being said, I do not regret reading this book, it is definitely a favorite of mine.
The Wrath and Mercy of Stone Haven, picks up right where The Rise and Ruin of Everwood left off. Can Everwood and Stone Haven come together in unity to take back control of Everwood from General Rush and provide sustainability and peace between the two settlements. Will Cillian and Eva's love endure?
This story lured me right in from the very beginning, although, this was an emotional read, I enjoyed it, immensely. I highly, recommend the On The Hills of Hope series. The Wrath and Mercy of Stone Haven has a coherent cohesive storyline, that has all the suspense and drama. If you like your books to have a strong FMC lead you'll love Eva. The character dynamics and character relationships were written beautifully. The only, thing that I did not like about this book was that it ended to soon. I cannot wait to see where Alicia takes us in Fury of the Crowned Hunter.

✨Arc Review✨

Let me preface this with, this is not my normal genre, but I ventured out of my comfort zone for her first book and ended up enjoying it! So obviously I had to read the second one as well! Also really enjoyed this one!

It begins right where we left off from book one. That first sentence gripped me up and didn’t let go.

Eva and Cillian are trying to bring peace and prevent more attacks from happening.
They are unsuccessful and there is enemies everywhere so this is one action packed book.
When they aren’t fighting they’re fu..having some intimate moments… 😉 there is also some tender moments that they share together, as well as some sadness. I was close to tears a bunch of times.
You are just really gonna feel all of the emotions with this. My anxiety was on high alert as I was on the edge of my seat with a lot of this.
Eva and Cillian go through so much. Eva is a bad ass and I love how they both go to extremes to keep the other safe while also doing whatever they can to protect their people.
I was so happy with the ending of the book. It was perfect.

Thank you so much @aliciamorgan_books for this #arc

I am so pleased to have been able to read book 2 in this series and in my opinion, the author grew and this was a stronger book than the first!

Dystopian fantasy with romance, waring factions, a spicy romance, constant action and brutal losses.

This story picks up quickly following the end of book 1 and we see Eva struggle to adapt to her new life in Stone Haven, even with Cillian's faithful support. She must gain their respect in order to help free the people of Everwood from the hands of General Rush. The danger isn't just far away however, the characters face challenges in their own settlement and of course, mother nature is always a factor.

Eventually, we see the fight get taken to the Everwood doors and I was very happy with how the mission played out. The mix of hope, betrayal, redemption, loss and fighting scenes was perfection. I was also happy we were able to explore more side characters in this book and get an even deeper knowledge of ones we knew already. Overall, I felt all the characters had good growth and development.

There is also this kind of fantasy vibe, with the odd animal actions and nature seeming to have a will or be acting on a higher power's orders. I am excited to see how this is flushed out moving forward.

Loved this sequel!!

First things first, the level of obsessed that Cillian is with Eva is swoon-worthy on every level. And vice-versa with Rose! I loved their relationship in book one and how it grew, but I love how they were able to maintain and grow in a different way in book two.

Now let's get to it. ALICIA DOESN'T LET US REST!! From the first chapter the heart rate is up and it truly doesn't come back down until the very end. It was crazy thing, after dangerous thing, after lusty thing, after insane thing....wash rinse repeat. Alicia Morgan definitely made her characters (and the reader) go through it for this book.

Not saying I didn't enjoy it though. I was enthralled and entertained from beginning to end, dedicated to the journey of Eva and Cillian and taking back Everwood. I enjoyed watching Eva bring more love into her life, and how that helped grow our side characters. I'm VERY excited for our next MC's story (to keep it spoiler free I'm not sharing who it is).

This whole world is so cool, and Morgan has set the groundwork for several characters getting to continue their journey even though Eva and Cillian got their HEA.

overall: recommend!

“I’m not a religious man, but this love I feel for you . . . it brings me to my knees—I will worship you in this life and the next.”

ALICIA! The Wrath and Mercy of Stone Haven was one of the best sequels I’ve read this year! I quite literally couldn’t tear myself away from this captivating story. If you’re looking for a good balance between romance and action, On the Hills of Hope by Alicia Morgan is definitely the series to check out! This book continues after the events of the first book.

Eva is such a strong character. She’s brave, fierce, and very intelligent. She automatically knows her role and does everything she could to help other people. Cillian has a similar personality. He is extremely protective of those he loves and would do anything to help his people. The two match each other perfectly. Cillian and Eva go through so much in their relationship. It’s not easy for them but they find a way to get through it together.

The characters were so well written and my heart broke for some of them (iykyk). I loved the world, which was developed nicely, and can wait for the next book! I am desperate to learn more about Liam!

Such a great sequel! I enjoyed the first book very much but the story really hit its stride in the second. The tension and suspense, the question of whether fate exists, the little love stories among the characters, I loved it all!

The Wrath and Mercy of Stone Haven picks up where The Rise and Ruin of Everwood left off…Eva and Cillan must come up with a plan to infiltrate the taken over Everwood, kill General Rush, and save all of Eva’s friends and family. Cillian, the heir of Stone Haven, and Eva, the heir to Everwood, get married… it’s true love but also forms a alliance between the two communities and now they both must plan for the mission to save Everwood and Eva’s captured father. So the adventure begins..

Although this isn’t the last book in this series by Alicia Morgan, it is the conclusion of Eva and Cillian’s story and I think it was wrapped up perfectly. This series will continue following other characters from this dystopian world.
I would consider this story a completed duology (at least for these characters) and I would definitely recommend this read to anyone who loves…

This was an intense sequel to the first book.

This book really explored survival and human nature, and the lengths you would go to protect the ones you love, and also teaches about forgiveness and mercy. Just as the title says, there’s a lot of wrath, but there’s also mercy shown despite the wrongs some may have done.

This book kept me on my toes the entire time. It seemed like our protagonists couldn’t catch a break and just one thing after another occurred and not all good, most not good, but realistic. They live in a post-apocalyptic world where Mother Nature seems to decide what happens and you just never know with nature. So, this book will keep you on your toes just wondering what will happen next.

This sequel is also much more hot 🥵 and steamy with the romance, and with other romances blossoming along the way.

This had a wonderful and epic ending, and despite a lot of repetition that occurred with what some of the characters would say or their inner monologues, it was a fantastic sequel and I look forward to the next book after learning who it will be about 👀

Thank you to the author for the gifted e-ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Just a quick note - you should definitely read book one, as this picks up where that left off, and you’ll feel a little lost without doing that. There’s more danger than ever surrounding Eva and Cillian, but the fire between them is still going strong. Morgan did an amazing job transporting me back to their world, and it was easy to slip back into their story. The imagery is vivid enough that you feel like you’re standing right beside them as everything unfolds, and the spice isn’t the only thing that will get your heart racing. There are some moments that will have you tearing up, just to warn you. By the time you reach the end, you’ll feel a sense of completeness, although I was reluctant to leave behind the world, Eva, and Cillian. I cannot recommend this enough for anyone that wants a semi-spicy story that will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions, but leave you without lasting questions by the end.

So this book continues right where book 1 left off! But man, we get no breaks with all the action going in! There is so much suspense going through the story.

I absolutely love Eva and Cillian! I love their relationship and connection they have. The spice scenes with these 2 are also very nice! Also, I love their dog Axel he is the goodest boy there is around! I was completely glued to this book and didn't want to put it down.

These 2 went through so much to do the right thing for everyone. Eva is still an absolute badass, and Cillian was the overprotective man we love! I loved this story so much.

This was such a perfect wrap-up for these two. And I can't wait to see what comes next! The found family we get and all the characters we meet I adored and loved so much! You get a rollercoaster of emotions as you get through this story as well.

Thank you, Alicia, so much for this amazing Arc! This is my honest review

First of all, you must read book one The Rise and Ruin of Everwood because this is the sequel. We continue with Eva and Cillian, now in Stone Haven, and I must say that Alicia can make me feel like few authors can because this book is a roller coaster of emotions.

We find spicy (book 1 was a real slow burn), betrayal, grief, found family, anger, hurt, love.. and all it's worth it. And don't forget how the main characters keep growing mentally. And here we can finally get to know better Cillian and his protective and maybe obsessive side about Eva. He totally gives "touch her and d.e" vibes.

This post-apocalyptic world is so well created and almost we can say that mother nature is another main character because we all see the consequences of it's actions.

Finally I can't forget about Axel, Cillian's wolf dog that just needs to talk back.

This was even better than the first book! A lot of series struggle with the dreaded curse of the second book- this was not the case.
The fast pace and unpredictable world made for a roller coaster of a read. I loved the sweet moments between Eva and Cillian and my heart broke with them as they went through the trials in this story. They each come into their own as leaders and it was great how they support each other through it. Cillian’s brother Liam is a new favorite in the story and YES I CRIED DURING THAT PART. I mean…just…🥺.
This was a great story filled with action, romance, and heart-wrenching moments so it makes the list for top reads of the year!

I love books that pick up right where they left off in the previous book. In fact, I think this book is better than the first book especially in terms of the development of the world and the characters.

The story is engaging and the slow burn romance between Eva and Cillian is so well-written. Their connection is beautiful and they have some truly amazing moments throughout this book.
Also, the post-apocalyptic society is more detailed and complex. It will have you thinking about society in general and what we stand for. There are a lot of reflective moments throughout this read and it definitely helps the reader continue to connect to the story and the characters.

Again, well-written and fast-paced. This book is sure to have a lot of fans.

There’s three feeling words I would use to describe this book and they are sadness, shock and satisfaction.

This book made me cry. First of all there is non stop action, and just when you think you might get a second to breathe, NOPE! And then the worst happens and I don’t think I’ve ever had a moment in a story break my heart more.

AND THEN, just as I was trying to get over this terribly sad thing, something shocking happens. Like, I think I said “what the fuck, I’m going to throw up” out loud.

The satisfying part happens towards the end. It was great.

This series so far had been so enjoyable. A nice quick and easy read, that gets the heart pumping and the tears flowing. I think book three is going to even be more of a ride and I can’t wait for it!

'Together they danced the waltz of death and violence'

A fabulous second instalment of this wonderful series! I already loved book 1, but this made me fall in love with this series even more! It's full of action, swoon-worthy romance, spice and revenge!

One of my favourite things about this book is that even though it's not in first person, the writing style makes you feel like you're in the characters' heads still, because the description of emotions is so well done.

I loved the battle and the revenge element of this book. I won't say anything further as I don't want to spoil it!

Really enjoyed this read and I'm looking forward to the next book 🩷

Alicia has done it once again! The Wrath and Mercy of Stone Haven was the perfect sequel. The adventure didn't stop (poor Eva and Cillian couldn't catch a break). I think i cried at least twice during it because it brought out intense emotion. Eva is a strong, badass who takes no shit (especially from a man). Cillian is the perfect combination of fighting for his woman, but also being mindful that she's a warrior at heart. I really enjoyed learning more about Cillian and Liam's relationship, as well. As always, check your trigger warnings prior to reading!

✨ARC Review✨ I had been anxiously awaiting the sequel after ARC reading The Rise and Ruin of Everwood, and this book DELIVERED! I finished The Wrath and Mercy of Stonehaven within 1 day, I could NOT put it down!! Alicia continues to develop the characters we love (and introduce some new ones). Without giving any spoilers, I was on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book, and the ending was incredible. As a non-fantasy reader, Alicia’s world-building for this series continues to be intricate and consistent, but very easy to follow. I can’t wait for the next one!

This book is the perfect sequel—it’ll have you hooked from the very first page! If you loved The Rise and Ruin of Everwood, get ready for an emotional rollercoaster because Alicia Morgan picks up right where the first book left off. Eva and Cillian are back, and the stakes are even higher as they try to bring their broken, post-apocalyptic communities together. The action is nonstop, and the chemistry between the characters? Off the charts.

This book picks up right after the ending on the second book and did a great job of reminding me what happened in the previous book. Eva is desperate to get her father back but must be patient and learn to live in a new village. She makes new friends and is reunited with her old Friends. She and Cillian get closer and i really like their relationship but it’s not without it’s arguments. This book tied up nicely but left room for more and i can’t wait to see what happens next.

This is booked two of the On The Hills of Hope series and it picks up right where The Rise and Ruin of Everwood left off. It is full of suspense, drama, found family, and touch her and die vibes. It will pull you in and not let go until the very end! It is the conclusion to Eva and Cillian’s story (yes, they get their HEA), but the series isn’t over yet! ARC Review ✨️

☆Cillian & Eva♡

I love how this one picks up right where the Rise and Ruin of Everwood left us. Alicia's writing never fails to amaze me. I wasn't prepared for how emotional this story ended up becoming, but gosh, I loved it so much regardless. Eva is such a strong FMC, and I'm obsessed with her. The world that was created is amazing and was beautifully created! I don't typically read many dystopian romances, but this one is going on my top 15 list of the year!

Thanks so much to the author for the ARC!

This is the conclusion to Eva and Cillian which we met in Rise and Ruin of Everwood, Eva and Cillian get married and with the help of friends they decide to rescue Everwood from General Rush, they plan and plot against the tyrant using Eva as a Trojan horse but things don’t go as expected. This is well worth the read and I can’t wait to read Liam’s story in Fury of the Crowned Hunter
