A prophecy foretold of a journey across the seas that would solve all my problems.
But now I'm stuck between an old flame who wants to rekindle what we had, and a jealous vampire who would take the other's head if permitted.
Did I mention the psycho goddess Lilis, stalking our every move, intent on killing us all?
Despite our troubles, what started out as a cobbled-together faction destined to fail is finally starting to rise to the challenge.
We're hot on the trail of the "gem" we've been searching for...a girl named Jade, who is the next key to restoring the Veil. If I can keep Raven from decapitating Maverick and myself from letting either of them make a fool out of me for love (again) we just might have a fighting chance.
A long time ago, in a galaxy far away, I was born into a family of Star Wars nuts. I have a lot of siblings (somewhere I lost count but I think there was more than could be numbered on one hand) and being one of the young padawans I was subjected to Star Wars marathons, on a regular basis. If you've read any of my books you'll see there is often a reference to said movies as a small homage to my upbringing. May the force be with you and all that jazz.
I started writing when I realized I didn't want to grow up not believing in magic, or not believing in creatures everyone else said didn't exist. That being said, I have never seen a fairy, unicorn or dragon. I had a neighbour who swore they fed the leprechauns in their garden, but I never caught the little buggers no matter how long I lay in wait. (And consequently had to help the neighbours plant new flowers to replace those I killed waiting for the leprechauns to show their faces.)
Along the way, I found my husband who is the rock that keeps me from floating away into my dreams, and we have a little boy who is the centre of our world. Living on a farm keeps us busy (as if the writing wasn't enough) and I have more than my share of stories about wrestling with cows, helping birth calves and ending up in the creek during the process, falling in the mud (we'll call it mud but we all know that on a farm, mud is rarely mud) and chasing escaped livestock in the hopes the four legged convicts don't make it to the highway.
I've taken up archery, and the goal is to move into horseback archery in time (you know, when I can hit the target on a consistent basis) and when no one is looking, I love to bake (this doesn't happen often as it's hard to keep the sweet treats in stock with two boys in the house.)
As to what's coming next for me? More stories (since those never stop inside my head, I might as well share them with all of you!) and more adventures. Pretty much, when the fancy strikes, I'll jump on it. Leap before you look I'm sure that motto was created for me.
Or was that . . . think big and dream bigger, ready, set, pull the trigger . . . yeah. That one is a good one too. But only if you have a gun. And are hunting elephants. Which is not cool because of so many reasons. Let's stick with the first one with an addendum.
Leap before you look and let your dreams carry you on their wings. And that, my friends, is me in a nutshell.
I’m still struggling to like Diana even now when I have just one book left in her arc as heroine. She’s still far too cold and serious. I get it, she’s trying to be impersonal and think of the good of the kingdom rather than of just those she has feelings for, but then she turns around and gets volatile when she is forced to do what she doesn’t want. Oh, she’ll sacrifice and do it, but she’s certainly not happy about it and willing to lash out at others. How she keeps finding it within herself to forgive Maverick and yet not Raven astounds me, but then she isn’t a character I can find I can identify with.
Raven’s actions and his drive to keep Diana safe (including not making her mad by admitting he’s her true mate and he is the one who saved her when Edmund tried drowning her all those years ago) just shows how much she really doesn’t deserve him. Honestly, she’s fine with giving in to her inner wolf and having sex with him (on her terms only) but wow, she seems to go out of her way to prove she’s willing to use him for her own wants and needs and then kick him where it counts when she has no need of him.
For the dreaded (and far too overdone enemies to lovers trope) this has got to be the lousiest pairing I’ve yet to read. She’s willing to sue to save the world but when she lives at the loss of her wolf and the reemergence of her vampire side she melts down? Honey, you still have your life and you can always try to become a werewolf again after you’ve saved the world- it’s a sacrifice that is allowing you to keep breathing and able to maintain the fight against destruction.
I’m just going to call it like it is- she’s selfish and really, she and Maverick rather suit themselves that way. I’m not calling Raven a saint because she’s far from it, but he certainly can do better than this spoiled brat. She’s acting as if her entire identity is wrapped up in being a werewolf, when she’s spent the last two books cursing being a werewolf because Raven has her going into heat which is embarrassing.
She pretty much spends most of her time hating her wolf side anyway, so why the big deal when it looks like wolfing is no longer an option. She doesn’t have to remain queen and it’s not like she has to leave wolf territory if her vampire nature reasserts itself as dominant. It’s not like all the wolves trust her anyway, given her mixed background.
Nicholas grew on me even more this time and I would love him to find happiness with someone. Not sure Nefir is a good choice because that god is far too laid back and not invested in anything, but yeah, I’d love to see him in a relationship. I’m wondering what’s up with calling him Nicholas all along and then the final chapter calling him Nick… no idea what brought that change about and it doesn’t really work, but that’s just me.
Derpy Kevin- I can’t love on that stinker hell hound more.
I am grateful to find the next arc coming up is for Gabriel and a human? Go Gabe. Gabriel is a likable character, even if he is a demon. Certainly far more personable than Diana. I’ll read Diana’s final book for Raven and to find out if another shard can be located before her time is through, but with 3 shards still to go, let’s hope it’s not going to stick with 1 shard per trilogy, otherwise we’ll never get to the final battle against Lilis.

Hidden by Fate by Shannon Mayer absolutely blew me away! 🌌🐺 This second book in Diana’s trilogy had everything I’ve come to love about Mayer’s writing: intense action, gripping intrigue, and a romance that made my heart race. The dynamic between Diana and Raven was perfection—Raven’s shameless flirting and Diana’s no-nonsense attitude made for some of the best banter I’ve ever read. 😏🔥 That shift in jealousy and possessiveness toward the end? It had me absolutely swooning. 💘🔥
Diana’s journey in this book was filled with impossible decisions and heart-stopping danger. She was hot on the trail of the next shard needed to restore the Veil, but nothing ever comes easy. 🗺️✨ A mysterious, “helpful” voice tried to guide her, but let’s be real—some help is more trouble than it’s worth. 👀🌀 As if that wasn’t enough, Diana had to juggle her feelings for Maverick, the old flame who wouldn’t let go, and Raven, the jealous vampire who wouldn’t hesitate to decapitate him. 😬💔 Did I mention they’re also being stalked by the psycho goddess Lilis, who’s determined to kill them all? No pressure, Diana.
Despite the chaos, Diana’s team started to feel like a real unit in this book. What began as a fragile, mismatched group began to rise to the challenge, and I couldn’t help but cheer for them. 🛡️🏹 The twists and turns kept me guessing, and Mayer expanded the lore of the Veil in ways that deepened the world-building while raising the stakes. The pacing was relentless—I couldn’t put this book down! Shannon Mayer’s ability to balance heart-pounding action with heartfelt emotional moments is truly unmatched. ❤️💥 And Diana? She’s such a strong, fierce FMC who owns every scene she’s in.
This book is packed with some of my favorite tropes: 💖✨ Fated mates 🐺🦇 Werewolves + vampires 🌞🌩️ Grumpy x sunshine banter 🛡️💓 Reluctant allies 🔥🐾 Alpha hero vibes 🖤🔮 Prophecy-driven adventure 💌🏠 Forced proximity ❤️🔪 Touch her and ☠️ 👀🖋️ Secret identities 🏹⚔️ Strong FMC kicking a$$
If you love adult fantasy romance with sizzling chemistry, dangerous quests, and a world brimming with magic and intrigue, this series is a must-read. 🌟 Thank you so much to Shannon Mayer for the ARC opportunity—it was everything I hoped for and more. I can’t wait to see how Diana’s story concludes! 🐾✨
I started this series last week and could NOT put it down. Wow. The adventure and action in Hidden by Fate kept me so engrossed throughout the entirety of the book. This is absolutely one of those series that just keeps getting better and better. Every time I think I have a favorite character, a new one gets introduced that has me falling in love with them! Sal, Theo, Gabe, Myrr, Nathaniel, Sienna, Dim, Will, Bee, and last but certainly not least Diana and Raven. The found family aspect, the sacrifice, the humor, and the plot all lead to a fun filled tale filled with a plethora of tension, plot twists, emotion, and intrigue.

“I do know it, with every breath I take, Diana, I know it. I will never leave you. You could command me away, you could tell me you hate me for a thousand years, and it would not change this truth. I will never leave you.”
I love this trilogy so much!! I first started delving into this world at the end of 2023, by reading Sienna and Dom's trilogy (Taken by Fate is the first book) and I was instantly hooked. I love Shannon's easy to read style, not sacrificing world building or the quality of writing. Dianna's story has not disappointed!!
Dianna, the werewolf queen, is continuing her mission to save the Alpha Territories, setting out on a dangerous quest to recover what's needed. Not only does our girl have to deal with the all encompassing impending doom, but she also has to juggle Maverick (the old flame, who she still has feelings for) and Raven, the jealous and brooding vampire, with a wicked sense of humour and nicknames galore! My vote is for the brooding vampire (if you were wondering!!)
Add in a gorgeous puppy hellhound, a myriad of fantastic side characters, including an oracle who won't/can't stop eating and a mysterious 'helpful' voice....
The pace of the book is unrelenting, it never lets up and I just couldn't put it down!! Another fantastic banger of a book by Shannon, I can't wait for the next one!!
Picking up right where the previous book ended and my heart is pounding to see what Diana and her team will do next. Hidden by Fate certainly showcased what is at stake and it certainly kept everyone on their toes. I loved the action scenes and Raven. *Sigh* Diana is such a tough cookie, and I just love how she doesn't let her emotions get in the way of her decisions. The stakes are high in this one and I cannot wait for the sixth book to be released. The narrators, Tillie Hooper, and Will Peters were great! They truly brought Diana and Raven and the other characters to life. The tones and inflections used were spot on for me. In many action scenes I felt like I was sweating right there with them, especially with the spider. Many things were revealed in this book and I'm very eager to see what Diana does next. This series is perfect for fans who enjoy shifters, vampires, prophecy, forced proximity, and great banter. A very special thanks to the author for the gifted audiobook.
"...Both doors lead to pain. And we still must open one."
I can't say enough great things about this other than I loved every page, even the heartbreaking ones. Diana and Ravens' story has all the feels. And I'm here for it.
The world building, the characters, and the story telling draw you in. If life hadn't gotten in the way, I could have finished this in a day. It's that good, you don't want to put it down.
Favorite line: Better to live with all I got for whatever I got left.
the dynamic between diana & raven is so goooodd!! raven is such a shameless flirt & diana is so unbothered it’s been the best of time!! the switch in jealousy & possessiveness at the end is really doing it for me too!
genuinely went into the last book expecting a stand alone romance with fantasy aspects, and now i managed to end up in a war. and she still doesn’t know he’s her mate. onto the next
Life got in the way, otherwise I would have finished it sooner! Really enjoyed this book. Diana is such a strong character and leader who always puts others before herself. The journey to fix the veil & save the world has many twists and turns. Love all the characters but really love the chemistry between Raven and Frostbite! It is hot🔥🔥🔥. Amazing storyline and love the Alpha Territory world.
◦ I've received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ◦
⮞ 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 ⮜ Almost all the characters - Are impossible not to love. I've loved seeing all of them and giggling with their silly banter. Myrr ofc she's always up to no good and this time she got someone who is kinda on the same path as her. And as usual you'll always see her eating lol.
⮞ 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝-𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 ⮜ This time the world-building has expanded and took us on the seas, and wow what elements they have found and what monsters out of nightmares. The details offered were really beautiful and made me feel like I am in the story with them. Exploring the high seas and the island were a true adventure.
⮞ 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐝/𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐝 ⮜ The story is short and fast-paced and I had 0 boring moments. I was giggling from the very first page because of the banter between the characters is divine. Is impossible not to giggle or even start laughing when the characters come up with so much sarcasm and silly remarks, and especially when Myrr has found someone who is fascinated by her, THAT scene made me snort because it was brilliant lol. I will be sad when this series end because you have so much fund reading it. Yes, you also go through some heart turmoil but the fun makes up for it and is just an overall nice, short, fast-paced series full of adventure with shifters, vampires and badass FMCs. I am waiting for the next one because while I'll be sad ending the series, I can't wait to see how they fix what they have to fix!!
⮞ 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐞/TW ⮜ I'd give the story a 3 out of 5 on the spicy rate. The story doesn't have that many spicy scenes, and they are not overly detailed. The story does contain gigantic spiders tho, like bigger than godzilla type of spiders. They didn't trigger me because they were made in so way that they'd rather give you nightmares than trigger the phobia xD. Nothing that happened in the story triggered me.
I love this series. The characters are well developed, the world building is incredible and the book moves at a great pace. Raven and Diana's story is so wonderful. Diana queen of the Werewolves and Raven a Vampire, their love is one that can never be, but none the less Raven will follow Diana and protect her with his life if he must. They have set out on a dangerous quest. One that just might claim their lives and the lives of the friends that are with them. Their friends have been taken Myrr, Nicholas and Kevin the sweet hell hound. Diana and Raven do not know if their friends are still alive, but they must follow the Vanator's ship and hope that they can rescue their friends if they are still alive. But the Goddess Lilis wants them all dead and she is not giving up, she has possessed the vanators and has murder on her mind. I will not go into detail, because I do not like to post spoilers. If you love action, this book is for you. If you love adventure with a bit of a love story woven in then this one is for you. Add in Maverick, the human that had stolen Diana's heart when she was a young girl and now would like to relight that flame and wow! I mean the man is crazy going after Diana with a jealous vampire on the same ship. I kind of want Raven to throw Maverick off of a cliff, but then I am team Raven. There are so many twists in this book, I love it! I love that it keeps me guessing and that it pulled all the emotions out while I read it. I love Diana for her strength, her courage and her loyalty to her friends. I love Raven for those same reasons. And then there is the hell hound named Kevin. Everyone needs a hell hound like Kevin. I encourage you to begin this series with the first book in the Alpha Territories series "Taken by Fate." This entire series is wonderful and it all begins with Dom & Sienna and the war for the Vampire Throne. Once you begin, you will not want to stop. But if you do not want to go all the way back to the beginning, you should start with book four, "Caged by Fate." That is the book just before this one. Honestly, if you love vampires, you need to start at the beginning.
I absolutely adore The Alpha Territories series and I’ve been eagerly awaiting Hidden by Fate, book five in the series ever since. It certainly didn’t disappoint – the stakes were higher and the spice was hotter than book 4, and I was here for it!
Hidden by Fate follows Diana, Queen of the Werewolves as she continues her perilous quest to find the next shard of a magical stone that will play a key role in healing the dying world, all the while being hunted by the Goddess Lilis. If that’s not enough drama, Diana is battling her feelings for old flame Maverick who broke her heart years before and flirty, charming vampire Lord Raven who’s determined to win her heart. She’s accompanied by a motley team of fabulous individuals including the wisecracking, food obsessed Oracle Myrr and sweet hell hound Kevin.
Shannon writes the most exciting adventure stories which perfectly balance epic world building with pulse pounding drama, intrigue, sizzling chemistry, epic spice and a hefty dose of humour. I was cackling one minute then gasping the next and I couldn’t put it down.
Shannon creates the most engaging characters, and I particularly love her brand of strong kick a$$ female leads who don’t need saving. Queen of the Werewolf Territory Diana is driven, strong, fierce and loyal and commands respect in a male orientated environment. She has met her match with smart talking, rakish vampire Lord Raven, who is her opposite in every way. Diana’s no nonsense approach to Raven’s shameless flirting made for some excellent banter and my heart was fluttering as Maverick’s attention’s towards Diana brought out Raven’s possessive side (which probably shocked him as much as it did Diana!). Jealous Raven is H.O.T!
Found family is one of my favourite tropes, so I loved seeing Diana’s travel companions pull together to form a tight knit group, despite how different they all are. I can’t wait to see more of them in book 6!
Hidden by Fate is an addictive, twisty whirlwind of a read, full of dangerous quests, mystery and intrigue, and searing romance and I can’t recommend it enough!
Hidden by Fate” is an absolutely delicious installment in the Alpha Territory series. The events that occur in this book are crucial to the war that has been brewing:
After all the sacrifices Diana has made in her journey to retrieve the gemstone and her missing people she is at the precipice of the ultimate sacrifice. She has battled Vanators, zealots of Lilis, giant spiders and lost so many lives of friends in the process.
Diana and Raven have shared the ultimate moment together and they both know that they cannot have more; or, can they? Maverick has tried to redeem himself but he is incapable of being more than what he is: a pretty con man. Raven has vowed to never leave Diana and it is he and the crew that bring her home to her siblings. Now they have to just figure out how to revive her.
Of course, Lili refuses to give up on her plan of vengeance and she makes an attempt to wage an attack against Diana and her family using King Malach as the sacrificial lamb. This read was epic and in the end Diana will have to make the ultimate sacrifice. However, her friends and family stand beside her and ready to rally resources in a combine quest to defeat the world’s ultimate enemy and potential source of destruction.
I devoured this read loving every single word. The action was off the charts, the sizzling heat between Diana and Raven was incredible and Lili is definitely the ultimate villain. Let’s face it, what is a great story without the worst sort of villain. I can’t wait for the next book.
Hidden by Fate had everything I love from Shannon Mayer. Diana and her friends are trying to save the Veil and the Territories so that things can go back to normal. There were so many twists and turns throughout this book I couldn’t put it down!
We visited so many places in this book and it only made the stakes higher as they tried to uncover what Lilis wants, why she’s creating such chaos. As always Kevin the hellhound made me laugh and Myrr made me smile as she was asking for food after being almost eaten by a gigantic spider monster, I still want more from Nicholas- I feel like his new powers are going to come into play in the next book or even the next series and I’m excited to see how that goes.
The banter between Diana and Raven escalated in this book and my god the tension was palpable, I loved every moment between them, the jealousy towards the end is going to come back in the next one I’m sure of it. I desperately need Diana to learn the truth about who Raven is and why they’re connected the way they are.
Diana’s story far from over and I can’t wait for the next book in this series. If you love any of these tropes you should absolutely pick up Hidden by Fate!
Hidden By Fate is the fifth book in the Alpha Territories series and the second book in Diana and Raven's story and I was hooked until the end. The story begins where the previous book ended and we are taken on quite an adventure filled with non stop action, danger, intrigue, mystery, romance, heartfelt moments and so much more.
The world building was well done and had me fascinated and the plot kept drawing me in and refused to let go. The journey to fix the Veil and save the worlds was filled with many twists and turns and there was never a dull moment.
The chemistry between Raven and Diana was undeniable and their banter was highly enjoyable. I loved the found family aspect in the story as each character was fascinating in their own way.
This addictive tale really took us on a whirlwind adventure. It had me laughing one minute and at the edge of my seat the next minute and I couldn't get enough. It was a fantastic continuation to the series and I can't wait for the next book. I would highly recommend this novel to lovers of paranormal romance.
🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧 I listened to the audiobook which was narrated by Tillie Hooper, and Will Peters. They were perfectly cast for the role and brought the story to life. They gave each character their own voice and personality and made the listening experience an absolute delight.
Not a big rollercoaster ride, but definitely some ups and downs
While this is the 5th book in the series, it is the second book of Raven's and Diana's story. A lot of times, the "sophomore" book in a series is the weak one, but not here. The plot thickens and our rag-tag group of misfits continue their quest to find the next key to saving their world (human world too).
We've got an evil, vengeful goddess, magic, mermaids, giant spiders and demons. This book kinda has it all. But also included in this is a good plot with interesting characters. Our heroine, Diana, was born a vampire - but turned into a wolf shifter by her adopted father. She is now Queen of the Wolves. While she loves her wolf side, she still feels some vampire left in her. . . and it really manifests itself in the form of a bond she can't really explain with our hot MMC, Raven - a vampire. And oh what a charmer he is. I've been in love with him since the last book, but this one just sealed it for me.
While he's fighting the bond as well, he realizes that it futile to fight fate, so he leans into it and is determined to win Diana over. This all came together in a great storyline and I definitely will continue on with the next book in the series. I sincerely hope it's not the last for this universe of characters, because I'd love to read the stories of a few of them.
This book is full of action and creepy monsters so if you like screaming your head off while reading like I do, whelp! You know what series to read 😂. Thankfully, I buddy read this with @dayowlreads - thanks for putting up with my screaming 😁😆.
At the same time, this book has delivered an incredible emotional gut punch. These characters are currently fighting incredible odds and my heart just aches for them but especially Diana. Her life is changing so quickly and I don't know how she's holding it together. That being said, I'm loving her character and absolutely shipping her with Raven (whom, I've lovingly nicknamed Fangbang 😂).
The combo of monsters out of my personal nightmares and kicks to the feels just makes me wonder - who hurt you @hijinksink !? 🤣🤣🤣 I am now so invested in these characters. Toy with my emotions fine but for the love of everything good, KEEP KEVIN OUT OF IT. 😭😂
Take home from my ramblings- it's a rollercoaster, I loved the ride, I need the next book NOW and if you wanna know who Kevin is, READ THE BOOK! 😘😂 Good news! It release yesterday so you can absolutely grab it now!
Rating: 4.5 stars/5 rounded up!
A big thanks to the author for the ARC, all opinions are my own.
I thought the first of Diana’s books had its freaky, tense scenes but Hidden by Fate smashes those scenes down quite a few pegs.
Our wonderful group has been split up. Those taken must be found. But how does one track in water? You can’t. Diana’s emotions are torn between letting down those who were captured, trying to keep Raven and Maverick from killing each other and trying NOT to jump Raven’s bones.
There is just so much going on that I don’t want to say too much but I will say that, definitely twice, every muscle in my body was taut during some scuffles our trio got into.
Lilis is getting more insane for power in every book. She is a psycho and tries many things to get Diana to stop searching for Jade. The second key to heal the veil.
Our crew meet a few people that provide them with little pieces of information about Lilis, the veil, etc.
The heat between Raven and Diana heat up pretty great in this one but there is still ever so much in their way.
I could not put this one down. It’s my 2nd favorite book (so far) in this series of trilogies. And that’s saying something since I gobble these up as soon as they come out.
Hidden by Fate is the action packed fifth book in The Alpha Territories series.
Picking up immediately after the previous book, our heroes deal with one problem after another in this fast-paced story. Readers are in for an emotional rollercoaster with rising animosity between Raven and Maverick. Both of whom are constantly vying for Diana’s attention.
While dealing with their own relationship dynamics, the fate of the world as we know is hanging in the balance. Shannon Mayer has crafted an immersive fantasy world, with high-stakes drama and the best banter. I love how we have so many supernatural/paranormal creatures coexisting in the same space, which really adds to the growing tensions and peril.
I alternated my physical read with the audiobook. I found the narrators really kept a nice pacing for the action packed story and brought the various characters to life.
If you haven’t picked up The Alpha Territories series yet, I highly recommend adding it to your TBR. This swoony romantasy series is a must-read.
Thank you to Shannon Mayer gifting with me with an ARC and ALC in exchange for an honest review.
WOW!!! This was one hell of an intense, action-packed, adrenaline-inducing and emotional story that had me once again utterly captivated and devouring every second of it. Once I started back into Diana and Raven’s incredible story, I could not for one moment put the book down. I became so involved with what was going on that I forgot I needed to be an adult!
Diana continues on her difficult journey filled with danger and heartbreaking moments, but she is determined to see this thing through. She is fierce, witty, and strong and even with the curveballs being thrown at her at every turn, she is able to persevere and continue on in her journey to fix the veil. But she also has to deal with Raven and Maverick, who are constantly vying for her complete attention.
The banter was filled with angst, jokes, sarcasm and tension, keeping me on my toes and continually laughing throughout. It was perfect. But the twists and turns had me yelling WTF a few times – so be prepared for that!
Shannon has the unique ability to continually write a story that is filled with creative, vivid and descriptive imagery and world building that draws us in every time.
I wanted this story to keep going, but nope – I need to wait on bated breath for the next book in this amazing series!
I don’t know how it’s possible to love each and every one of Shannon Mayer’s books but her amazing characters and brilliant storytelling just make it so easy. Diana has one of the single most bad@$$ quotes that I’ve read in forever. She’s queen and you best not forget yourself when trying to give her orders. More women should strive for her level confidence and knowledge of self worth. I think it’s why so many of Mayer’s characters and stories resonate so well with me. You know when you pick up one her books there’s going to be an FMC that you can’t help but idolize in every way.
Diana has a strength and resolve in her that is beyond admirable and so entertaining to read. She won’t be led astray of what must done no matter the personal cost. Raven, on the other hand, defies her in every way possible but all in the interest of keeping Diana safe. And he would do it again and again and again without apology. I am at the edge of my seat waiting for the next book to see how Diana manages to take down her enemies and show the world what it truly means to be a Queen!
I could not wait for this story and now I’m impatiently waiting for the next! If you have not read this series you really should! Fast paced, funny and a little bit of heat and tension. Mystery with twist and turns and lots of action. This is the second book in Diane and Ravens story and as much as I loved it you definitely need to read the first one, book 4 m, the start of their story. While you’re at it just start with book 1. You will not regret it! With saying that, this book is definitely not a standalone book. It’s Very fast paced and we start to see Raven and Diane letting each other in and slowly things are being revealed. The humor and banter between all the characters is what makes this book worth reading. We do start off right where the story before left off. So hold on and get ready for the action as they hunt to find a missing piece/person and enter into territory’s of possible enemies all while having a crazy god trying to stop you and constantly putting danger in their paths.
"Hidden by Fate" is a spellbinding journey into a world where the paranormal is not just a backdrop but an integral part of the story. Shannon Mayer has once again proven her mastery in crafting a tale that is both thrilling and deeply emotional. The protagonist, Diana, is a fierce and compelling character whose struggles and triumphs resonate with readers on a profound level.
The narrative is rich with suspense and unexpected twists that keep you guessing until the very end. Mayer's skillful world-building transports you to a realm where magic and danger coexist, creating an immersive experience that is hard to put down. The relationships between the characters are nuanced and add layers of intrigue and tension to the plot.
What truly makes "Hidden by Fate" stand out is its perfect balance of action, romance, and supernatural elements. The pacing is impeccable, ensuring that there is never a dull moment. Shannon Mayer's writing is evocative and engaging, making this series a must-read for any fan of paranormal fantasy. "Hidden by Fate" is a captivating adventure that leaves you eagerly anticipating the next installment.
“But all is fair in love and war, Frostbite. And tonight, I'm going to do anything I can to change your mind.”
Hidden By Fate is book 2 in Diana & Raven’s trilogy inside the Alpha Territory world. This picks up right after Caged by Fate and the action doesn't stop! There's danger lurking around every corner, tension brewing between star-crossed lovers, and an epic journey that has a new twist at every turn. To restore the Veil, Diana and her companions must find all five scattered shards, but Lilis is determined to stop them. Will the team succeed or will the propheticized doom come to pass? I can’t wait for the next book, Consumed By Fate!
If you love Fantasy Romance with these tropes, I recommend giving this series a read! Tropes: ✨️Forced proximity ✨️Touch her and die ✨️Banter ✨️Alpha Hero ✨️Fated Mates ✨️Bodyguard ✨️Prophecy ✨️Reluctant Allies
As always you're sucked into the world immediately! The story gets better-if that is even possible-with every book. I will admit that even the heartbreaking pages were good.
The veil is broken and there are five shards needed to fix it, which is great to know and sounds easy enough, except the fact that there is an evil goddess that also wants the same shards, but just for their power and doesn't care too much for anything else. So off we go on the hunt with Diana-our Wolf Queen, and her fated mate by her side, that happens to be a Vampire, whom she knows won't be accepted by her people. On the way we find magic, demons, gods, monsters, hellhounds, mermaids, new friends made, old friends who turn out to be enemies in hiding, fate, of course, romance, jokes and tears-the journey is never easy after all. To say that you won't want to put it down doesn't do this book justice at all!! Can't wait for the next adventure
Shannon Mayer has given us another great story with fantastic characters and terrific worlds in which to hide when the real world is too much, and we need a break.
Diana, the werewolf queen, is on the hunt for the next ‘gem’ with her band of cohorts that make her life interesting, if not chaotic and exhausting at times. The men that surround her are trying her patience and she cant risk losing her focus when she has an angry goddess on her tail.
Hidden by Fate picks up right after Caged by Fate ends and some of her family/friends are kidnapped. While searching for them, her group of friends/family grows and as always, the people she meets along the way are as eclectic as ever. However, will these new people be of help or a hindrance to her search for the five gems to repair the veil.
I cant wait to see where Diana’s story will go in the final book of her trilogy and who the next ‘couple’ will be highlighted in the next trilogy of the overarching Alpha Territories series.
Hidden by Fate is a poignant and heart-wrenching novel that delves into the complexities of fate, choice, and the burdens we carry. The author beautifully explores the internal struggle of accepting the inevitable, making us question whether we are truly in control of our own destinies or merely victims of circumstances.
The narrative delivers a gut-wrenching truth: “The moral of this sad tale? Sometimes, Diana, both doors lead to pain. And we still must open one. I'm so sorry this is your burden to bear.” This quote encapsulates the heart of the book—the painful reality that life often doesn’t offer us easy choices, only different kinds of hardship.
Hidden by Fate is a beautifully written story that will resonate deeply with readers who enjoy thought-provoking narratives about love, loss, and the hard paths we must sometimes walk. It’s a tale that stays with you long after the last page is turned.
This is the 5th book in The Alpha Territories series and the 2nd in the Werewolf Trilogy. This one picks up right where the last book left off and continues to follow Diana, Queen of the Werewolf Territory, and her retinue as they attempt to find the prophesized missing gem.
I absolutely love Diana! She's still the fierce and formidable queen that will do anything for her people and in this one we see more of her vulnerable side as she races through the human lands and the Demon Territories. She's still trying to fight her attraction to the ever charming Raven at every turn and he's also trying to keep a few secrets of his own. This installment is non-stop action and we get introduced to a few new characters and more prophecies along the way. I'm excited to see where Diana's journey goes from here!
Thanks so much to Shannon for the advanced copy! 🖤
