Серія сподобалась, але кінець цієї книжки не дуже, як можна було вбити таких крутих персонажів 😭 я чекала, що у Арті та Кіана будуть гарні стосунки, що вона опанує свої сили, а тут бац, і все.

I was so disappointed in this one.

Spoilers.

First this is too short, and I said it for last book and will again for this one. Why do we need everyone else's pov? We aren't getting enough story as it is about the Elle and her mates but we throw in all of the side characters too? Why.?

As for the rest of the book, I feel like a ton of editing was missed. Example: in the Arden, Lysander, and Elle sex scene Arden is said to burn all his close off leaving him naked. Two paragraphs later he removes his pants and gets her attention. I know it seems picky to point out but it's just one of a few examples that just takes you out of the story.

I am going to be honest and say I may not finish this series.

At this point I feel like I need to know the outcome of the story, but the writing feels shallow. I like that there are all the multiple worlds, I’m annoyed that in every challenge the characters face their power is always compromised or is cut off - I want them to be badass but it never seems to happen!

Literally have been gobbling a book a day from this series. It was honestly really good at the beginning, and so were the first 3 books. But by the time we get to the fourth book, and they are STILL having some of the same issues they had in book 1… I don’t think I’m going to read the last book 😓

Ugh. I’ve loved this series thus far.

I’m not sure if it’s me or this particular book in the series.
But I’m giving up at 42%.

I just can’t get amped or excited about anything in this book…
I’ve been trying and trying, and I usually devour a book almost every two days.
I’m 6 days in….
Which basically tells me something is up here and I’m battling to keep any interest in this particular story.

I’m not really interested in Kronos.
I can already tell what’s up with Emrys.
I’m just bored.

I did like this book! Not as much as the others though. I felt like the story was so quick. There could have been so much more to the story. It just seemed rushed. Also the multiple povs of side characters were a bit much. Throwing in a certain pov here and there of a character that started out “bad” then turned good is a good option for us readers to understand true intentions. Other than that it took away from Elle’s main story. I do look forward to the next book in the series!

Too short

Disappointed the story was only 155ish pages, it felt incomplete and just unfulfilling after waiting so long for the continuation of the first RH books I ever read. The characters were still enjoyable, but I think everything just fell a bit flat with the book being so short. Hoping the final book will be much bigger and more fulfilling since it’s supposed to be the last book; need more real relationship development, answers to many remaining questions, and more dialogue and humor that was present in the beginning. Still an enjoyable series, and loved how it interconnected to FMS and the other worlds.

ok but dragging on

I really loved the first 2 books. Then by the third and 4th they started to drag on a little. Also it was kind of weird to have pov from the side characters and start talking about who they are mated with when they aren’t the main characters of the story. Regardless it was a decent book. Just wish they would have concluded it

Disclaimer: I’m going to review it without spoilers at the top, then create a line and anything below that line will be spoilers. Do with that what you will.

I would agree with many of the reviews that the book is rushed (the entire series is) and this book could have been much longer. There’s an inconsistency with this author in giving 300+ page books and then some around 150 pages. It just comes off like the ideas aren’t fully vetted. Which is disappointing, because there’s so much potential with this series. This book didn’t come off as rushed as others though for me, I think because there weren’t tests/competitions in this one. Those were getting old with quick resolutions. But A LOT still happened in this book that could have been drug out and explained and developed more.

Here’s what I liked:
- The competitions are done. Her having to do three separate ones in prior books was getting a bit old.
- I love that the author consistently makes strong female characters that don’t take no shit.
- Hope and Arty’s development.
- There’s some great comparisons and explanations of things in the book from a physical perspective.
- Several plot twists that I wasn’t expecting. Some good, some meh. But overall, I love that the author can shock me. There’s plenty of predictable things but that’s true in most fantasy, but the shocking moments don’t always happen in other books. Fantasy can be verrrrry predictable.
- I’m so curious about Matron. Like she’s so mysterious and I love that she just pops up and people can’t find her lol.
- I have intrigue on the crowns and their use.

What I didn’t like:
- Inconsistency throughout the series. Both in number of pages, but also some of the facts. She says she’s not a good swimmer in this book, but she was flexing on how her grandma made sure she was a good swimmer in the first book since they lived by the sea. There’s other spoiler ones too. They seem small but they’re just inconsistent and niggle at my brain.
- Jinx’s storyline left me a bit wanting.
- Ellelin and Terrin is a little weird. I get he’s a man in dragon form, but she’s literally barely seeing him as a man and so she’s just lusting after a dragon. And him saying some things just also gets weird.
- Some plot choices that just don’t feel authentic - more explanation in spoiler section.
- I know Emrys has more of a storyline in this one, but it’s not really him. And I just can’t see his and Ellelin’s connection. He’s just filler and I don’t like that.

SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT
——————————————————

What I liked:
- Hope being pissed at Xandry for being calm is so damn relatable and hilarious.
- Knew Xandry was gonna be Hope’s mate but was NOT expecting him to be a wolf shifter himself and sent to protect her.
- The Arden and Lysander punishment sex scene was INCREDIBLY hot. Like damn, that was good. Wish it would have gone on even longer but it was good.
- I knew that Aphrodite was gonna ruin their ceremony, but wasn’t expecting the tsar to have powers or the nulling power his dragon has. Kidnapping Grayson’s sister too 🤯
- I love that Ellelin’s mom is getting some screen time. And the dad POVs. It helps build the plot and also showcase what parents are willing to do for their child.
- The alpha being Hope’s brother was expected after mentioning “he looks familiar” but then so much happens you kinda forget that until he’s mentioning that she’s his sister.
- The wolf shifter and dragon shifter blending in the other world was interesting.
- Lysander having a redemption era somewhat. But dude still kinda sucks lol.
- Jinx’s backstory and his ability to shapeshift is so cool. But also makes me question why a cat if he can genderbend? Can he shift into other animals?

Favorite quotes:
- The sea is still glistening blue even when its king is in trouble and not in this world. It should be grey, like my heart. // THE DRAMATICS 😂
- “We’ve lost the highly dangerous magical staff. That’s the only way to get back to our world?” I groan. We really are not good at this. I don’t know who put us in charge, but they made a mistake… // this is so hilarious to me. I love when authors make their characters self-aware that they’re not killing it with a prophecy.
- He looks up through his thick white-blond hair, and his light green eyes sparkle like the fizzy apple drink I used to love as a kid. // this is such a cute and wholesome way to describe an eye color without just explaining the color to thing like nature.

What I didn’t like:
- Ellelin just selling out her grandma with literally like no remorse or indecisiveness. There’s a little but then it’s just like yep, bye. Just seems fucked up and inauthentic.
- Hope’s mother planting the memories into Hope’s memories was rather confusing and hinged on someone viewing her memories basically. In the moment I was confused and thinking about it, it doesn’t make the most sense. I feel like there could have been an alternative way to showcase this.
- Livia’s storyline just kinda bums me tf out. She can’t leave? Also, I wanted her to fall in love with another woman and yet suddenly we find out she’s bi? Even though in the other books, it would have been “awkward” if she had to be a queen to one of the kings??? She was setup as a lesbian and then it was just like JK. I do like Jinx and her together though as the book developed. But she just really got the raw end of the stick with her storyline.
- It makes no sense that they could get into the Spirit court when the ward is up and was previously untraceable? Why put the wards up at all then???

Court of Dragons and Ruin, the fourth installment in G. Bailey’s Dragon Crown series, is a mesmerizing ride through worlds ruled by gods, wolf shifters, and the fierce, unrelenting Ellelin. If you’ve followed Elle's journey so far, this book promises even more of what makes this series so addictive—steamy romance, heart-stopping action, and a rich, immersive world that will sweep you away from the first page.

One of the highlights here is the crossover with G. Bailey's other works, especially seeing familiar faces from the Ravensword series. The connection between these worlds adds a new layer, making the story feel expansive and interconnected in ways that fans will love. Elle’s quest takes her to a parallel realm where she faces gods, struggles to reunite with her dragon mates, and uncovers secrets from her past, weaving in intense battles and powerful revelations.

Yet, Court of Dragons and Ruin is not without its challenges. While the action and romance are as thrilling as ever, there are some moments that feel repetitive, especially with certain situations echoing earlier books. Additionally, while multiple points of view usually enrich a story, here, a few chapters from side characters detract slightly from the main storyline. Some deeper insights into Elle’s mates would have brought more intimacy to the plot.

Nonetheless, the story brims with suspense, romantic tension, and unexpected twists, keeping readers turning pages and rooting for Elle and her dragons. The cliffhanger ending leaves a strong sense of anticipation for the final book, though it may feel a bit familiar. Fans of fierce heroines and alpha males will find plenty to love here, along with the usual blend of romance, danger, and magic.

Court of Dragons and Ruin may not be the series' strongest book, but it still offers an exhilarating experience with characters you can’t help but care for. Highly recommended for anyone craving a steamy dragon-shifter fantasy romance. Just be ready for the wild ride and cliffhangers that keep you hooked till the very end!

I mean...at least this one didn't end with Elle yet again being separated from her dragon kings. OH WAIT - yes it does. 4 books in a row, really? That feels a bit lazy, honestly. Is that the only bad thing that can happen to the FMC?

Positives - Terrin and Elle get some long overdue quality human time together. Enemy storylines I had worried were forgotten resurface. We learn about Hope's past. Artemis's redemption arc is in full swing (even if the insta-love with Kian feels incredibly hollow). Ellelin gets to reunite with her mom, yay! We get to explore another world a bit. Lysander and Arden make up (although in a very unexpected and not entirely great nor believable way). Livia returns. Jinks as a character could be a lot of fun, if he gets enough page time and dialogue. Demon cat, always a win.

Negatives - feels like there's way too much "destined mate" storyline, used to explain away characters spending so much time away for reasons. (Livia/Jinks, Hope/Xandry, Elle and eveyr breathing male) The explanation for how the Spirit Court people were turned into dragons feels flimsy - how did Ares not notice hundreds, if not thousands, of people turning into dragons and flying away? The Ares/Emrys storyline did not develop much until the very last few pages. All this allusion to a dark god under the spirit castle - wonder which greek god will be shoehorned in to suit this purpose? Chronos wanting Hera was so random. Why the hell was Emrys left alone at all, while they all knew full well he's battling Ares internally? UGH. And, again, the stupid same cliffhanger. A lot of typos (punctuation in the middle of words), grammar errors, and sentences directly contradicting each other.

I'm going to unhappily read the next one, just because these books are short and I really hope for a redemption to this whole story. But I won't be recommending this to anyone. And if I did, I'd beg them to give up on the series as soon as they stopped enjoying it. To not make the mistakes I've made.

I am absolutely loving this series, and this latest installment was nothing short of amazing. The action is intensifying, and the romance is getting hotter. Even with the cliffhanger ending, the story continues to exceed my expectations.

This particular book picks up after Aphrodite sends three of Ellelin’s dragons to another world, leaving her to figure out how to retrieve them. Together with her two dragon mates, Emyrs and Terrin, Elle must venture into this new world to save them. The plot is filled with more trials, dangers, and magic, making it impossible to put down.

I can't wait to see what happens next and whether Elle and her dragons will find their happily ever after. The anticipation for the final book is almost unbearable, and I know I'll be emotional when it's all over. I'm a huge fan of Bailey, and I just wish these books were longer.

It wasn't until this book that I realized this series is connected to at least one of Gem's other series, which means I have more catching up to do. I loved exploring more of Gem's worlds and seeing how they interact with these characters. The Air Court, in particular, sounds incredibly magical, adding even more depth to a story already filled with dragons, magic, and gods.

A lot was revealed about Elle's dad, providing some touching moments, and we finally get answers about Hope's past, satisfying my curiosity. Elle and her mates face enemies everywhere, and they’re going to need a miracle to survive.

The cliffhanger was a killer, leaving me desperate for the next book. Gem Bailey rips my heart out every time, and "Court of Dragons and Ruin" was no different. Thankfully, there's only one book left, as the emotional rollercoaster is almost too much to bear. I'm praying for a happy ending because if anyone deserves it, it's these characters. "Court of Dragons and Twilight" cannot come soon enough.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I just finished Court of Dragons and Ruin, the fourth book in G. Bailey's Dragon Crown Series, and I have some mixed feelings about it. The story picks up with Elle and her mates—Arden, Emrys, Grayson, Lysander, and Terrin—getting separated thanks to Aphrodite's trials. Now, they're trying to navigate a new world run by wolf shifters and gods, and Elle is racing against time to reunite everyone before the magic of the staff fades and the spirit court collapses. Along the way, they cross paths with the Titan King, who turns out to be tied to Elle’s past and her father’s secrets.

One of the best parts for me was the crossover with G. Bailey's Fall Mountain Shifters series. Seeing characters and elements from that series brought into this one gave it a richer feel. If you're already a fan of her other works, it’s a nice surprise that makes the world feel more connected.

That said, I did feel like parts of the book dragged a bit. There were moments when it felt like we were going in circles, repeating similar situations from the previous books. Plus, there were a few chapters that switched to the perspectives of side characters, and while I usually enjoy multiple viewpoints, these felt a little unnecessary. Honestly, if we were going to get more POVs, I would have preferred diving into the minds of Elle’s mates. I think that would’ve made the story feel more intimate and added a deeper connection to the main group.

The cliffhanger at the end also didn’t have the same impact as in the previous books. It felt like it was trying to hit the same notes again, which made it a bit predictable. Still, I'm looking forward to seeing how everything wraps up in book five.

Overall, Court of Dragons and Ruin wasn’t the strongest in the series for me, but it still had plenty of interesting moments and a plot that kept me curious.

The Dragon Crown Series is one of those series that just keeps getting better with each book and Court of Dragons and Ruin is no exception. This book was phenomenal. As a harem, Elle and the guys keep facing a lot of personal issues but they are working through them and thank goodness because I didn't like the tension.

It wasn't until this book that I realized that this series is connected to at least one of Gem's other series, which means I need to catch up. I loved exploring more of Gem's worlds and seeing how they interact with these characters. And after hearing more about the Air Court I really wish there was more set there, it sounds even more magical if that's at all possible about a book filled with dragons, magic, and gods. A lot was revealed about Elle's dad and those were some touching moments. Plus, my curiosity is finally satisfied because we finally get answers about Hope's past. A lot was going on, including more trials, more danger, and more magic. Elle's and the guys' enemies are everywhere and they are going to need a miracle to make it through. I have no idea how this story is going to end.

Why? Who has wronged Gem so much so that she keeps ending every book in this series on such a brutally savage cliffhanger? She rips my heart out every time and Court of Dragons and Ruin was no different. I hate to say it but thank gods there's only one book left because I can't keep going through this. I'm praying for a HEA because if anyone deserves a HEA it's these characters. Court of Dragons and Twilight cannot come soon enough.

💣 Spoilers Ahead for this book and the series 💣

Well, Well, Well...that was fun 😁 Another great installment, these books are easy to read. They have all the juicy romantasy tropes you would want. There is a sprinkling of spice 🌶
🌟 Fated Mates 🌟 Shifters 🌟 Dragons 🌟 Magic 🌟 New worlds 🌟 Found Family 🌟 Gods 🌟 Enemies to Lovers 🌟 Prophecies 🌟 Court Politics 🌟
I was very nervous to read this book because I was so worried for Emrys at the end of the last one!! I was right to be. Poor Emrys, the most gentle mate and he is sharing his mind with an evil God who wants to kill Elle. When Emrys found out he hurt Elle, his reaction tore a part of my heart out. Then, just when we have hope that he can be saved, all hell breaks lose.
Too many things happen in this book to mention.
The cliffhanger left me very worried for Emrys...AGAIN! I am also worried for Graysons sister. Aphrodite really has been playing the long game and she has screwed everything up.
What will happen next???
Great read ... Go and start the series if you havnt already!!!

What’s tanking my review score? The same ending over and over. This is the third ending with people behaving in the same ways. It doesn’t matter about the details within when an author is determined to make money on a serial. That’s when you get repetition. The same type of story arcs but with different actions; essentially rereading the same story. I’ve got to say this will be my one and only series with this author because this type of writing works for her- and I’m getting off the ride asap.

There were also many continuity issues throughout this book. Things would happen and a few pages later they would happen again only slightly differently. For example, in a scene the fire court king burns away all his clothing leaving him naked. A few pages later he has pants that he must remove. Another one: conversations happened in a previous book, and yet it is revealed as some great secret in this one. We are not even going to go into the typographical and grammatical errors. It’s almost as if multiple people have written this book and didn’t read what the other wrote 🤔

so far this series has been such an easy read. This book wasn't as good as the others, it all felt rushed and just lacking a bit. However, i still thoroughly enjoyed it! A why chose enemy to lovers romance where the fmc is a badass shadow princess, 4 dragon kings and a dragon dude (not sure exactly who he is as of yet, only that he is a man stuck in a dragon form who was born in shadows) but we love them all. The spice is there briefly but i eat it up every time it's there. I can't say i've read a why choose trope before but damn what's not to love 😋

I have to say i do love all the characters, even the subcharacters. Jinks, the cat shifting demon, is so witty and has me giggling. Hope, i'm so excited to see how her powers develop in the next book after finding more out about who she is. Arty, fingers crossed she gets revenge on her parents and we see more from her and the others. I feel like they didn't get enough time in the book. It all felt rushed between the subcharacters and their mates and i wish we had more in depth :/

Aphrodite is having an absolute field trip using love to manipulate elle and pretty much anyone. But im scared for emrys :,) praying he's okay.
The ending was pretty expected but im mad all the same.

Fantastic dragon series!

I really love this series and I love the characters. This particular book picks up after Aphrodite has sent 3 of Ellelin’s dragons to a different world, and she has to figure out how to get them back. She, along with 2 of her other dragon mates – Emyrs and Terrin - have to go to this other world to save them.

They get separated but eventually find themselves in the world of another of G. Bailey’s series – Ravensword – which was awesome seeing those characters show up in this book.

Lots of crazy stuff happens and they also realize why Emrys is acting strangely and trying to hurt Elle… but can they save him from what is trying to take control over him?

The six of them are not only fighting for each other but also against the war that is coming from not only Aphrodite but from the Tsar in the West. The ending has a cliffhanger and OMG I cant wait to see what happens next!

DNF - quit at 15%
I don’t know what happened, maybe too many POV changes to different scenes, instead of the characters in the scene from the chapter before. It made the story very jarring to read, since one minute -they are flying thru the portal into a storm and your wondering what happens to them, but the next chapter your reading is about a totally different character trying to bring Elle a sword, leaving you hanging & disoriented at what happened at the portal scene. This series started good in book one, but slowly dissolves with each book, into a hard to keep your interest type of series. What a shame…I hate I wasted so much time in reading the first 3 books, to be done with it in the fourth book.

At my age (62), life is way too short & my time is too important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.

For crying out loud!

I know Aphrodite is supposed to be the goddess of love but right now I’d classify her as a subject Hades needs to have under his dominion.
First Elle’s mom wakes up, we find out later why she woke when she did. Aphrodite has thrown three of the four kings into another world just because she could. Emrys had used his air power to push Elle’s dagger through Ares, effectively making him unalive. Or so we think.
We get to travel to Hope’s home world and spend a good amount of time there. She finds family and some truths and facts she could never have guessed at.
That all I’m giving you. You need to read this for yourself to see why my opinion of Aphrodite has completely tanked farther than it was. On to the finish! And I just know after what was going on in this ending it’s going to be a dandy!

This book was boring.
I feel like this story could have concluded in this book. It's dragging so much. I hope the 5th book is the last as I don't think it'll hold my interest.
Filled with typos and randomly getting POVs from side characters was just weird, I'd of much preferred it if it was one of her mates... Not of her girl group, I don't care about their POV in a book that isn't about them.

Very disappointed but I am invested in the characters but, again if it's not concluded I don't think I'll continue.

So Aphrodite is still around to torment the princess of the Spirit Court and our favorite Air King is now fighting for his soul. Here’s hoping the war against the Tsar of the West ends quickly so Emrys can be rescued.

I’ll definitely be reading book 5 immediately to see what’s next.

💙Lysander (King of Water Court)

I love this book series BUT… did not love this book…

This book was so short and so rushed. I actually couldn’t tell you one thing that was significant to the storyline in this book….

Also, I didn’t like all of these side characters POV because it was a lot to follow with such a short book!

I LOVEDDDDDD THE ENDING THOUGH!!! EVERYONE POWERS AT ONCE!
But the war short, so we only got to see about 10 pages.

I am absolutely loving this series. This book was amazing and its getting hotter and with more action. Even with that doozey of a cliffhanger it still can't get nothing but better. I can't wait to see what's going happen next and if Elle and her dragons make it to a happy ever after. I so can't wait for the final book and will cry when its over.
