I really enjoyed this book! Instead of one story, the novel is a series of short stories written by different authors, presenting different takes and inspirations from Aladdin and his magic lamp. Most of the stories are really good and are worthy of a longe adaptation, others are perfect as a short story.
The stories take place in various timelines and settings and also vary in their focuses. Some stories focus on the genie, either good, powerful or evil, or on Aladdin or other recipients of the lamp. The styles or genre of the story vary too, some are humorous others are sad or tell a moral.
The format therefore makes this book perfect for busy days and you just want to get a little reading in. My personal favourites are New Life For Old and Gifted.
This is a themed anthology of stories based on the Aladdin's lamp theme. The selection is rather uneven, with many quite short and fewer humorous stories than one might expect. It's a good volume to keep on an end table and read one or two stories at a time rather than charging straight through.
A book of short stories, all dealing with some aspect of Aladdin and the magic lamp - most of them about other people finding the lamp or genies in general. Most of them are pretty good.
