The Bloody Tulip

Rate this book
I'd survived in the shadowy depths of a world I didn’t belong in, held captive by lies, but I never imagined myself tangled in such a hellish nightmare.

As a hopeful stripper with dreams of a modeling career, my life took a treacherous turn when I was chosen to represent my club in this so-called opportunity of a lifetime.

Competing to win the heart of a heartless millionaire, and to be the last woman standing from Club Tulip.

I thought I knew who I was…

Naive. Just. Empathetic.

Caesar Callahan was turning me into someone I didn’t recognize, and I was going to return the favor.

The enigmatic puppeteer controlled our every move, but it wasn't his hand on the strings that terrified me the most.

It was the viewers—the merciless judges of our fate—who pushed me to the brink of my own darkness, testing the limits of my moral compass by making me do the unthinkable.

I only wanted my big break… but it was me who would end up broken in the end.

The grim reality of this life-or-death dating show became all too real once I realized it was an invitation I wouldn’t just die for…but kill for.

Despite a few dark romance themes, The Bloody Tulip is a dark horror novel that does not end in a happily ever after. Please view the list of triggers found on the author's website.

Here's an actual review.

I enjoyed all of Sullivan's previous work up until this book. The reason for the low rating is because the story drags on and on and on. We are forced to sit through every single game knowing that someone isn't gonna make it, because the author makes it obvious by giving us dual POVs. This is why I hate dual POVs so much. They're hard to do well. When you have a book promising high stakes and life/death, dual POV is essentially a dead giveaway that there's no real risk to the MC. Not to mention, the reason Caesar was doing any of this makes no real sense. Ultimately, I'm disappointed she's chosen to pursue a series with this storyline because I'm really not a fan.

Bloody Brilliant and 100% Ruthless

Words can't even express the level of chaos this competition was. Ceasar is a wild sarcastic man who made me chuckle too many times to count. He gives zero cares for anyone involved. You will have favorites and you will LOATH some contestants. The challenges and elimination rounds had me picking my jaw off the floor at times. The author did a wonderful job at taking the Bachelor and making is a sick and twisted game. I'm looking forward to seeing the progress of the show as the series continues.

Imagine a dark web version, of The Bachelor, where the gears are switched and the competition was killed off. Rounds of competitions cast Caesar as pure evil genius.

His dark web show “The Last Bride Standing” is full of dates and death!
There are some absolutely twisted and fucked up activities that take place while these women fight for their lives!

I’m here for all of it!
I was cheering for most of these girls. (IYKYK) The audacity these characters have!!

The gore, brutality, vile twists, and psychological triggers are all there!
BUT THIS PLOT IS GRIPPING

I am sooo ready for the next book in this series! I cannot wait to see who will get the final flower!

if I read ‘literally’ one more time…

The writing is trash. The author uses ‘literally’ 86 times in the book. It was so distracting and super annoying. The banter was repetitive and trite. The discord between the competing women was eye-roll worthy. Like middle school name calling. If a billionaire is holding women hostage with their lives hanging in the balance, the likeliness that they’ll constantly bait him is so unbelievable. I realize Tori Sullivan doesn’t primarily deal with HEA but I would have liked a better balance between the antagonist struggles and the contestants struggles. It was like Hostel meets hunger games. Just gratuitous violence and seggs but not even a ton of the latter. I almost didn’t finish because of the sheer volume of “literally”s. Super disappointing. There’s no way the next book won’t be a repeat of this book.

4/5 ⭐️
The only thing that doesn’t make this a five star read for me is that it does drag on. With that being said, overall the dive into complete darkness on this one was fun!

THIS 👏🏼 BOOK 👏🏼 ISN’T 👏🏼 FOR 👏🏼 EVERYONE. Read your triggers & content warning. Don’t be a Debbie and one star rate a book because you didn’t like / were offended over its content when you are warned about it prior to going in.

I knew exactly what I was getting into and yeah, I absolutely devoured it.

Let’s be clear; this is horror erotica, not dark romance. There are no soft edges here. No comfort, no redemption. Just brutality, manipulation, and straight chaos. Check your triggers because this one does not hold back.

The setup is insane. Aria is a “dancer” aka stripper and all of the girls are brought in from Caesar’s clubs under the impression they’ve been selected for a new game show where he’s choosing a wife. They think it’s an opportunity. A way out. Something glamorous.

It is not.

They have absolutely no idea why they were really chosen or what they’ve actually been brought there for, and watching that realization slowly unfold was WILD. The deeper it goes, the darker and more twisted it gets, and it very quickly turns into a full on survival nightmare.

And Caesar…yeah, let’s talk about him.

He’s not morally gray. He’s not misunderstood. He doesn’t even pretend to be redeemable. He is calculated, controlling, and completely detached in a way that makes him terrifying. Everything is a game to him. The people, pain, survival and he is always ten steps ahead. The way he watches everything unfold like it’s entertainment?? Unsettling in the best/worst way.

Morals? Gone. Out the window. Didn’t exist 🤣

Aria’s arc was one of my favorite parts because you really see her shift into survival mode. It’s not about love or connection, it’s about how far she’s willing to go to make it out alive, and what pieces of herself she has to sacrifice along the way.

What I loved most is that this book commits to what it is. It doesn’t try to soften anything or make it more digestible. It leans fully into the darkness and just stays there.

If you enjoyed A Wife for Silas, An Heir for Silas, or The Brethren Lords series, you will love this as much as I did. Same level of completely unhinged, morally bankrupt chaos and I ate it up.

Definitely not for everyone but if you like your books extreme, twisted, and pushing every boundary…this delivers.

The Bloody Tulip 💍🌷

If you saw my last review you’ll know I raced to start this! I think I’ve found a new favourite author & a new fav series!! I’m OBSESSED 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

It’s time!! 🌷

The 26 girls have all been picked from Ceaser’s highest quality strip club Tulip by the conniving madam Angela 🫣

They’ve been told they’re entering a reality show, similar to the bachelor. They’ve to do a series of challenges to compete to be Ceaser’s bride & win a substantial prize fund, they couldn’t be anymore excited!

Only there is no prize fund & the challenges are a matter of life & death….literally! You fail, you die…in the most horrific way, in-front of millions on the dark web!! 😳

Season one of The Last One Standing is ready to commence…hold onto your seatbelts ladies because this is one hell of a ROUGH ride 😮‍💨💍🤎

Arghhhh, I cannot express how UNREAL this series is!! It’s insaaaaane!! For 552 pages I raced through this! I ignored every single responsibility & read at every given opportunity!!

Every single page has you guessing, Ceaser literally has zero f’s to give. He gets off on sadistic torture & the challenges ouft 😮‍💨 you thought squid games was bad? It doesn’t hold a single flame on this! Even outside of the challenges I cringed!! 😬

I was so invested in the girls! One in particular, I was rooting for her & as much as I thought yeah she will win, I also knew not to be so cocky as Ceaser showed it didn’t matter if she was his favourite too, she still suffered the same (if not more) than the others….no one was safe!!

It really was a heart racing read that I devoured wholly & instantly felt the loss when I finished 😭 I cannot WAIT for the next season, I just know if book one was this twisted then the rest can only get worse!! I LOVE IT 👏🏼🫶🏻🤎

I read the prequel called "Last Bride Standing," so I knew going into Bloody Tulip that this was going to be a sort of dark web version of The Bachelor. I have never watched even an episode of that show but I think I understand the concept behind it.

I was really glad Ceasar doesn't try for fake sappy romance in the book. Its supposed to be a dating show, he's supposed to be looking for a wife (at least that's what the viewers are lead to believe) but he really only has chemistry with Aria.

The book is told in dual points of view, Ceasar's and Aria's. I was afraid the fmc would be boring because with so many that will, in theory, need to be written for this series, it would have been easy to make her generic. However, I grew to really like Aria's character and I think she showed significant growth, much like the viewers of Ceasar's show. My biggest disappointment is that I can't find any information about the author or future releases and I really want this to continue.

It is important to keep in mind before and during reading, this is NOT a romance.

Now, I ain’t gonna lie—The Bloody Tulip had that Silence of the Lambs meets The Bachelor energy, and yes, it was just as thrilling and intense as it sounds. But I was here for every single moment. This book gripped me from the start and didn’t let go.

Tori Sullivan’s writing pulled me completely into her world—vivid, detailed, and immersive. Every scene was perfectly crafted, so I never had to guess what was happening or feel lost in the story. The character development was on point; the characters felt real, complex, and fully fleshed out. Every twist, every interaction, every detail of the plot was thought through with precision, making the story feel both authentic and high-stakes.

I loved the balance of suspense, intrigue, and emotional depth—it kept me hooked the whole way through. I am absolutely obsessed with this series and honestly wish it would be turned into a movie because it deserves that kind of spotlight. Tori Sullivan delivered a phenomenal first book, and I can’t wait to see where the series goes next!

Caesar Callahan, the monster, the bachelor, the assh*le. This is season one of Caesar’s Last Bride Standing. After reading the prequel, I immediately dived into this. Let me tell you, pay attention to the author’s note in the front of the book. If you are looking for a romance this is not it. If you love unhinged fuckery, pitch black, no redeeming qualities in the MMC this is the read for you. Every time I pick up a Tori Sullivan book and she tells me this is not a romance I still allow myself to be as delusional as the women in the book. I was so much in my delusion that I completely forgot how bad psychopaths could be until BAM… Caesar being Caesar. I was impressed and disgusted by everything Caesar had in store for the girls. He made me laugh and dare I say it he almost made me love him more than Silas. How he talked to these women and his general curiosity in their reactions made me giggle. I cannot even imagine what is going to happen in his second season but I cannot wait!

So go subscribe to Caesar’s Dark Corner. 💋

The premise of this book was highly interesting. I enjoyed the plot quite a bit so I did read the book to the very end. But it was so repetitive and the grammatical errors were atrocious. The 500 pages could have been cut in half. It seemed to be every other page that had errors or sentences that repeated the same words within it. The author definitely needs a better editor. I'm surprised more people aren't talking about all the errors. Interesting plot though, I loved the bachelor-esque murder dating show idea.

First off, if I never read the word “ literally” it would be literally too soon. The word appeared at least every page. Did a Kardashian ghost write this?
I wanted to like it, I really did. The plot was original, so that kept me hanging on my my fingernails to finish it. Cesar is diabolical, but no Silas. I’d like to see a stinger heroine in Tori’s next book, one that doesn’t cream in her panties when the H seeet talk her after he orchestrated her rape

When you write a villain he has to have something like depth and a good backstory… this villain is just a cardboard character who does awful things. For me the story lacked depth: to believe the dark things he does there has to be a connection. DNF.

I really didn't like how the MMC Caesar was written. He and the FMC sounded too similar. Its one of my pet peeves. It could have been better, but it turned out disappointing and a little dragging.

3.75 ⭐️ I love a pitch-black book!

⚫️ Erotica Horror (genre)
⚫️ Psycho MC
⚫️ Fierce/smart FMC
⚫️ Game of survival
⚫️ Dark enough to be black
⚫️ No HEA
⚫️ Dual POV (love this)
⚠️ Not a romance book

It's a game of survival, and Tori has delivered another super dark read. I love the twist on the popular TV show bachelor. Please read the TW and understand there isn't a HEA. to many people complain about this even though it is very clearly articulate at the start of the book.

I would have given it a higher score, except it did drag in places and was repetitive at times.

Other than that, this is definitely worrh a read doe those dark book girlies.

I freaking love Tori Sullivan.
I am and will be forever in love with Silas and now Caesar is a similar (but still no Silas 😂) unapologetic guy. This should be book 1/4 but nobody knows when the others will be released.

Dark Twisted and so so good

Coming here after reading The Dark Life of Salis series. Where here you see some of Silas. We meet Caeser who owned several different clubs and a special dark web business as well. He starts a Dating show think The Bachelor meets squid games. Where you are either the last one standing or you end up brutally "eliminated".

This is told in Duel POV where you follow Caeser and one of the Contestants Aria and how she ended up this the situation she is. You watch how they interact and almost relationship like to me, you see how Caeser actually feels about her compared to the other contestants.

For me I definitely became attached to some and was perfectly fine when others were "eleminated".

Please check your trigger warnings and keep in mind if you read the Dark Life of Silas Trilogy prior to reading this, Silas torcher is bad but I think Caesar's "elimination events" may top that or pretty close to Silas.

I highly recommend this book if you
1. like Erotic Horror
2. If you like the Dark Life of Silas Duet.

THIS IS NOT A DARK ROMANCE

It’s The Bachelor … if The Bachelor was run by a completely unhinged psychopath who got bored and came up with a new way to increase his viewership and income stream. Caesar is insane but also hilarious. I can fix him ... I think?

Please, please check your trigger warnings!
