A man who has found his soulmate... A woman determined to forget him.
I knew the moment I laid eyes on Selina Grymes she was the girl I was going to marry. We made plans to grow old together, have children, and live the rest of our lives here in Tyson’s Creek. But once we graduated high school, she left town and never returned, taking my heart with her.
Selina disappeared for fifteen long years without a word, before suddenly reappearing in town and turning my entire world upside down. I know I should keep my distance, protect my heart from being broken a second time, but all I can think about is making her mine again.
But Selina doesn’t plan on staying here longer than it takes for her injury to heal and then she’ll disappear again. I’ll stop at nothing to prove to her that we belong together, even if it means giving up everything I’ve built to be with her.
USA Today Bestselling Author AJ Alexander has been writing romance since 2018. She loves writing small town romances with found families and all the nosey nellies that help her characters find their happily ever afters! She lives in Arizona, otherwise known as the surface of the sun, with her husband, two daughters, two cats, and a lovable golden retriever.
When she isn't writing you can find AJ reading, binging the latest true crime documentary on Netflix, or binging the latest Korean Drama or Anime that's released. AJ is a cynical hopeless romantic that believes in love at first sight, that bigger is always better, and everything should be put off for a nap.
Come find her in the wild! There's nothing she loves more than connecting with my readers.
Selina and Vance were childhood sweethearts. Vance knew the moment he saw her that she was the one he would marry. Unfortunately, she didn't believe him...
There are few things I despise more in a book than miscommunication, and that is the driving force behind this one. If Selena had just said something, if Vance would have just said something.... instead, they endured years of heartache when they could have held onto their happy.
The story as a whole was sad and frustrating with moments of happiness, and of course, there's a happily ever after. Overall. I enjoyed it, there were just a couple of things that bothered me.
1. Time. After Serena returns to Tyson’s Creek, she's reunited with her friends, new and old. One of those friends is a very pregnant Bristol (8 months pregnant). The story spans approximately 6 months in Tyson’s Creek, at the end of which Bristol finally gives birth...
2. The number of times Vance was made to feel guilty for not telling Serena how he felt, when it seemed that that was all he did. She just wouldn't hear him.
In the end, seeing Vance happy was worth the annoyances, and it really was a good book. Especially since I previously read Before I Love You, which introduced Vance and Serena as part of Connor and Audrey's story.
Vance and Selina love this story it was amazing it gave me all the feels love the second chance tropes. The spice also and the way Vance never gave up hope and let seli go follow her dreams even though it would break his heart. This soulmates were meant to be and the ending made cry because if you know you know loved it.
AJ Alexander Love You Still Vance and Selina Vance knew, he just knew, the first time he laid eyes on Selina, that they were it for each other. How romantic is that? I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This relationship was completely unhealthy. I don't get how Vance pined away for Selina for 16 years when she left him without a word. And then childishly comes back to town in the 10 year she was gone and from a stupid misunderstanding on her part just shut Vance off altogether. She was stupid and selfish. I don't understand what he saw in her. I wished he would of found someone else. This second chance "love" was a dud. Selina was way to childish for an actual adult.
From the moment Vance met Selina he knew he had found his soulmate and the woman he would marry one day. But then Selina leaves their town and is gone for 15 years. She returns to their town after getting injured and is only planning on staying until she's healed. I liked how the story showed their past as well as the present day. It was really sad with what happened to Lydia. I also hated what happened between Selina and Vance, this is where communication would have been key in the misunderstanding. I did love that no matter what Vance still loved Selina and refused to give up on her completely. After she came back, he did his best to win her back for good. “I’m sure whoever the girl you’re talking about is sweet, but there is only one woman who has held my heart since I was five years old. She’s it for me.” “How can you know how you feel about her after all this time? People change. They grow up and sometimes become completely different people than you knew when you were younger. Maybe that five-year-old little girl isn’t the same person you gave your heart to all those years ago." “No matter who you are right now or the things you’ve done, I’ve never stopped loving you, Selina. I had to let you go to survive. The pain of not being near you consumed me, making it almost unbearable to get out of bed every day. I wrote you that letter saying goodbye so I could move forward, but that doesn’t mean I stopped loving you. I spent every day since you left begging the stars to bring you back to me.”
It was really sweet that he bought the house they'd always dreamed of living in and fixed it up. “After I bought this place, I wanted to make it perfect, everything you wanted. I wanted to have it ready just in case you ever came home.” “You believed in us that deeply?” “I’ve always believed in us, Selina. Even after all this time, the moment I heard you were back in town, I knew that everything would be okay. Our road back to each other isn’t going to be an easy one, but anything worth having in life is never easy.”
“Seli, you were following your dream. I never gave up hope that you’d come back to me. And now that you have, I’m never letting you go again. I love you, Selina.”
Vance and Selina proved that no time or distance can keep soulmates apart. Vance knew the moment that he met Selena, at 5 years old, that he was going to marry her and he held strong in that belief until the vey end. Childhood sweethearts for most of their lives, Vance and Selina are separated when she leaves after graduation, without saying goodbye, to head to NYC to attend Juilliard and fulfill her dream of becoming a prima ballerina. Vance is left heartbroken but still tries to hold onto Selina but she slowly starts to slip away. Miscommunication on both ends sees this couple that are so in love moving on without each other. Years pass and a tragedy has Selina returning home when yet another misunderstanding leads to her running off again without a word to Vance. Vance was one strong man to wait almost half his life for this woman to come to her senses and back to him. He stayed celibate for goodness sake! When Selina returns home to heal from an injury, and subsequently buys the dance studio where she learned to dance, Vance sees this as their second (or fourth but who's counting) chance to finally get on the same page and have the HEA he's been hoping and praying for. Selina still very much loves Vance but she's a stubborn gal and thinks her return to Tyson's Creek is temporary. When the two of them finally open up to each other and talk about the past, all the miscommunication and misunderstandings, we see their love shine through and blossom like no other. Their chemistry was electric! That house...SWOON! Vance can be my golden retriever any day! I loved the ending when Selina finally realized she was right back where she was always meant to be...in Tyson's Creek and in Vance's arms. I'm looking forward to more of this group of family and friends, and Tyson's Creek!
AJ Alexander has done it again with LOVE YOU STILL. She's delivered an emotional second chance love story which I found difficult to put down. We're back in Tyson Creek for Selina Grymes and Vance Kirkland's story, one which is both heartbreaking and heartwarming.
From the moment he first saw her in kindergarten, Vince knew he and Selina were destined to be together. At eleven he declared that one day they would marry. For Vince, Selina was his soulmate. They became high school sweethearts and a future together seemed certain, until everything changed. After some miscommunication and a heartbreaking decision, Selina leaves for New York to follow her dream and doesn't return for another fourteen years. The only problem being, she didn't tell Vance she was leaving. A devastated Vance moves on with his life, but love is not included.
Selina returns to Tyson Creek for rehab, after a crushing dance injury, and buys the local dance studio. She still dreams of pursuing dance, but will it be the same dream that she has always had? I loved and adored Vance, his determination to show Selina that his feelings for her hadn't changed since high school broke my heart. The chemistry, connection, and love they shared were deep, yet they struggled to be open and honest with each other, this was the one thing they needed to improve upon.
Selina's friends were amazing, Leia, Audrey, and Bristol were just the friends a girl needed. They gave sound advice, and definitely knew how to enjoy themselves. Vance and Connor's friendship continued to remain a close one, they became co-owners in a construction company. They were there for each other in times of need and had each other's back. The question remains ... will Selina return to New York or will Vance be able to convince her that she belongs in Tyson Creek with him?
I did enjoy this story, although Selina and Vance did test my patience with their constant indecision and inability to openly communicate with each other. Overall, this was an entertaining story.
I looooooove second-chance romances. They’re my second favourite trope – and Author AJ Alexander delivers in spades with this story of an intense love that had been lost but never moved on from – by either party.
What a treat it was to read of Selena and Vance’s extended and re-imagining of Haven, one of my favourite novella series from Ms Alexander and in LOVE YOU STILL she has given allllllll the extra deets and feels that I’d wondered about but didn’t know I was missing until picking up this book.
The chemistry and the longing was deeper, and I hurt so much for Vance with Selina’s eye staying on the prize of a main stage role. He was giving his all but she was taking no chances in getting close to him again, and I loved his dogged determination to show her that she was every bit as important to him as ever she had been.
While Vance was consistent in his continued efforts to change her mind, even when I thought he should give up, he didn’t come across as stalking. It was everything romantic and loving, the chemistry was ramped to high and I loved every word of thier story. Especially when he showed Selina and us, just what he’d been up to during her time away. Oh, the romance *sigh*
He’d made the biggest ever declaration of love.
Bring tissues for this one! 5 Stars for their hot and beautiful romance🌸✿꧂

Everlasting Love
A love story that lasts a lifetime. Vance and Selina were friends since kindergarten and more than that since their junior year of highschool. But Selina has dreams for her career that are far away from their hometown, whereas Vance already made plans for his at home. But he would never force her to give up her dream, he clearly was in it for the long run even if it meant going long distance. But Selina is a young girl. With dreams but also full of fears and doubts. And when a tragic rips through their group of friends and Selina comes home after two years, an unbelievable misunderstanding makes her run away and cut almost every bridge back home. It had to take 14 years and an injury for her to come home again. And of course Vance is there and wants answers. But Selina does as much. They reconnect, they can clear the big misunderstanding, but is it enough to take the leap for a second chance? Or is Selina´s career an obstacle in their happy end. Will Vance let her go again? A lot of questions that demand answers. But the end is worth the wait.
It is rare when I start a book and am crying almost immediately, but that is what happened with this book. Vance and Selina were high school sweethearts and soulmates, who unfortunately had different paths they were following. Even though they loved each other, graduation changed everything and Selina did what she thinks is best.
Almost Terri decades later she finally comes homes to Tyson's Creek and vows to stay away from him, but he is determined to at least get answers. The connection is still there and they both never stopped loving the other, but can they find their way back up each other?
The main reason I didn’t give this five stars is due to how much (in my opinion) of the book was repeated from the first. I understand that some people might not have read the first book, but there were definitely times when the past could have been mentioned more quickly. Selina was also a little too stubborn at times. Vance was a man on a mission and I felt bad for him a couple of times.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and hope there is more to come for this group of friends. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.
Love You Still by A.J. Alexander was so sweet and I loved being back in Tyson Creek!! If you like childhood sweethearts, found family, he falls first, small town, inter-collected standalone, then you will love this book.
We are back in Tyson’s Creek following Vance and Selina’s story. They met as kids and Vance knew that she was the one. Selina left to live her dream as a dancer until an accident brings her back to her town. Vance is determined to win her back.
I loved reading about their relationship, how they met, and how hard Vance fought to win Selina back. Selina’s dancing accident was sad, but it brought her back to her future. I loved that I got to read how Audrey’s friends dealt with what she went through and rallied around her. I was so happy that Jade and Love were in this book their relationship with Vance is great. I just really enjoyed this book and I cannot wait for the next one. Thank you A.J. Alexander for letting me read this ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions.
Main Takeaway : Don't let the fear of the unknown hold you back from telling/being with the one you want!
Synopsis :. Selina and Vance were always together from the moment they met. Vance knew from the start even before he knew what love was that Selina was special and the one for him. Selina loved Vance but was scared he would resent her if she asked him to go with her. So instead she just left.
Personal Thoughts: I love how Vance knew from the beginning that Selina was it for him. But his own fear held him back. Selina knew she couldn’t break up with him and decided to just leave after graduation. But neither of them could move on. I love how once Selina went home she started to feel her peace once again and she found herself. I loved how Vance showed her
Recommendation: YES!! Definitely recommend reading this one.
Love You Still By A.J Alexander is easily one of the best second chance and small town romances I’ve read well in such a long time . So beautifully written and emotionally charged , filled with angst , humor , witty banter , heartbreaking and heartfelt moments, love , passion, pain , tragedy, drama , obstacles, family , friendships, secrets and more . Selena Ana Vance their story is definitely not an easy one . It’s a story about first loves and loss and second chances. I really was not expecting all the different emotions I went through while reading. . You’ll experience everything from being utterly speechless, to yelling outta pure frustration. Your heart will feel like it’s beating so fast and then bam being crushed with tears coming down your eyes, you’ll smile , you’ll laugh you’ll be glued to the edge of your seat anticipating what will happen from one second to the next . And you’ll find yourself rooting so freaking hard a few seconds ago
Oh this book!!! Vance and Selina are proof that it doesn't matter when it comes to time, distance, struggles, or hurdles, soulmates can't be kept apart. Vance knew at the age of 5 when he met Selina for the first time that he was going to marry that girl. The two were childhood sweethearts up until Selina leaves after graduation without so much as a goodbye, kiss my a$$, you get the picture. She is headed to New York to attend Julliard because it is her dream to be a prima ballerina. But back home, she left a heartbroken Vance. Miscommunication doesn't help the situation either. Years later, Selina returns home due to a tragedy, but then takes off, once again due to misunderstanding and doesn't even bother to say one word to Vance. Finally, Selina returns home due to an injury. She purchases the dance studio where she used to dance, but again, she's not really sure this is where she is going to settle down at. But Vance is bound and determined to work this out and make her his for good. Once they finally talked and got all the miscommunication between them sorted out and actually had a fighting chance, you could see just how much they truly loved each other and just how perfect they were for one another. While I loved them both so much, I did want to smack Selina a few times, just for the simple fact of how much she hurt Vance. That guy was a saint in my book. Anyways, this was such a good story, and I can't wait to read more.
Soulmates. That is what Vance and Selina are. These two go through so much, but you can’t help but root for them. There are parts of this story that are super emotional and if you read book one in this series, then you will. However, it also plays role in the decades long saga that is Vance and Selina’s story.
Vance knew from a young age that Selina was it for him. She felt the same for Vance, but at the same time she also had big dreams that involved leaving her small town. These two have a deep connection and strong chemistry. There is also some missed communication and fear when it comes to their relationship.
I love these two and their story, even at times when I’m yelling at them out of frustration.
If you’re looking for a small town, second chance romance check this one out.
Fall in love Vance fell in love with Selina before he even knew what love was. She loved him too, but was scared and literally disappeared after high school graduation, no breakup, no goodbye, just gone. So emotional and heartfelt, these two obviously belonged together. Fear has a lot to answer for 😠, open communication could have saved them lost time. (But then we wouldn’t have this awesome story … 🤔). My chest ached for Vance and he claimed a little piece of my heart. A story of devotion, soulmates, and enduring love hindered by miscommunication, fear and mistrust. A second chance to get behind. Sweet, swoony, steamy, emotional, romantic with a great small town, wonderful characters and a beautiful HEA.
Selina left town more than a decade ago to pursue her ballet dreams in the big city of NY. She left behind Vance, her boyfriend and never looked back. Until a serious injury sends Selina home where she opens a dance studio while rehabilitating.
After months of trying to get Selina to have coffee or dinner with him, Vance is finally successful and they reconnect in a big way. But Selina finally gets the call to audition the very next day and she leaves town again without a word to Vance.
I’m happy to say that Vance and Selina get their happy ever after, although they go thru many hurdles and miscommunications, the heart knows what the heart wants. And this time they both want the same thing, to be together.
Tropes include: • Second chance • Small town • He falls first
Wow! This left me speechless from the first page until the end. AJ Alexander gives us so many different emotions in this! I haven’t read many books that had me crying in the first chapter but this one did! My heart broke for Vance because he loved so hard and so deep and then his heart is shattered when Selina left for New York without asking him to go. Of course, it wasn’t easy for Selina either, she felt like her heart was being ripped out of her when she decided to follow her dreams instead of her heart.
This is the first book by AJ Alexander that I have read but from this one, it won’t be the last!
The friendship that Vance shared with Selina began when they were children and evolved into love when they were teenagers. He started planning their future together only to have her leave town for more than a decade with no explanation and minimal contact.
Selina left her hometown and Vance to pursue her dream of dancing professionally, but an injury has brought her home. The feelings between her and Vance are stronger than ever, but will it be enough to convince her to stay?
This is a heartwarming story about a love that was always destined to be. Vance had accepted that Selina was the only woman he could imagine spending his life with and he is patient and understanding as they work through the mistakes of the past.
AJ Alexander has done it again in Love You Still. If you live second chance, small town romance this is for you. It’s the second book after Before I love You. This story follows High School sweethearts Vance and Selina and their second chance journey. Selina leaves without a goodbye to Juilliard to fulfill her dream, while Vance remains in their hometown Tysons Creek. Many years later Selina returns to heal and injury and their second chance begins. Slow burn read. Their chemistry, love and hurt are all felt so deep. Selina was protective and distant, while Vance gives it his all. He proved time and time again Selina was his other half. I can’t wait to read Waiting to Love You!
Wow! The emotions hit hard right out of the gate and I couldn't stop the tears. I love a second chance story, finding their way back to each other and this one hits the mark. Even with the frustrations, the misunderstandings, the heartbreak... there's this deep down connection that's been between Vance and Selina for most of their lives. The story gives us ups and downs, strong emotions, sweet, heat, and everything in between. I love the friendships that are a part of this story as well and I will be checking out other reads from this series.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
All I can say is communication!! Since he was 5 Vance knew he was going to marry Selina. He asks her father when he is 11 if he can marry her. They have grown from friendship into a wonderful relationship. All is well until Selina's dream of Juilliard is achieved. She leaves her small town and the boy who owns her heart and follows her dream. Vance doesn't understand it but he wants her to be happy. She'll return. They are now in their mid thirties. Life has thrown them both some hard times. Selina is once again in her hometown to rehab her ankle injury. She's only planning to stay a little while, but Vance and her friends have other thoughts. This is a soulmate story with a ton of miscommunication, lack of trust, and fear of the unknown.
I loved the first book in this series and could not wait for this one. Let me tell you the wait didn’t disappoint. This book follows high school sweet hearts Selina and Vance. She gets into her dream college for dance but knows she can’t say good bye to Vance. She leaves and doesn’t look back until she gets hurt and needs her family and friends. She gets her second chance at love and soon realizes everything she has been missing is at home.
Small town second chances 💕 ARC Review ✨️ Fear has the ability to prevent us from unlocking some amazing journeys in life! In Love You Still, we follow the journey of high-school sweethearts who drifted apart but then found each other again later in life.🤗🖤 Selina and Vance were both characters you can easily get attached to. This author really bought them to life with the amount of emotions that went into this writing and the plot itself was so good!!
This is the second book and if you’ve read book one you know you need tissues for the first part of this book. I love that this couple finally has a chance to talk and resolve some issues. True love is a thing and when you know then no one else will ever compare. Can’t wait for Bristol to finally get her book.
Vance and Selina get a second chance at the love they walked away from. Selina left Vance to follow her dreams. Vance never once gave up on his dream of Selina. Things happen in our lives for a reason but these two are extra stubborn and wasted a lot of time to finally get it right. High angst. Swoony hero. Lots to love, between the two and the supporting characters.

Thank you AJ Alexander and Literally Yours PR for this ARC. 🩶
Vance and Selina's relationship was one of childhood familiarity, steeped in trauma bringing them back together in Tyson's Creek . Second Chance, friends to lovers I eat up this trope every time. I cried , but in the best way! My heart was definitely penetrated but sewn back together. Angst that had my on edge flipping pages because these characters went through it!
Oh how I love this series. This book was so good, I couldn’t wait for it and it did not disappoint. Vance is so amazing, he is patient and passionate and totally hopelessly in love. Selina is sweet but insecure in her thoughts of Vance. She definitely needed to grow up before they could really be together. Things definitely had to fall apart for them to come together better than ever. Totally worth reading ya’ll!
