Pretty solid beginning of a crossover I was waiting for ages… great art and its amazing to have an almost tripple sized issue to begin with. Loved Dylan Dog - Batman/Bruce banters. Groucho’s humor didn’t work that much for me.. Joker’s role begins with a sinister crime but has been reduced to a caricaturish character by the end of it.. I hope they redeem him in the coming volumes.

This cross-over between Batman and Dylan Dog should be released by DC in early 2024 but I got my hand on the italian original version released earlier this year. And enjoyed it very much, if only because it stars two characters I really like.

Recchioni managed to link the main protagonists (Dylan Dog, Batman, Joker, Xabaras) so it kind of holds even if the endgame is not even hinted at. The sidekicks on the other hand... Catwoman and Killer Croc are inserted in the plot with no obvious reason and don’t seem relevant so far. I know other cameos are to come in the next volume, including one that should fit in much better. There are not many supporting cast in the Dylan Dog series apart from Groucho and Bloch. I guess Recchioni tried to fill up his series with the batverse. I’m not convinced it was necessary but there’s still 2 books to go so let’s give it a chance.

Artwise I really like Werther Dell’edera of Something is killing the children fame so his style is somewhat different here. More nervous, more instinctive with marker like inking. The italian fumetti are known for being in B&W most of the time. Still, Cavenago’s warm coloring is excellent totally on par with his US counterparts.

I won’t pretend this will be the best Batman story ever. Neither the best Dylan Dog’s. But I like the idea of mixing these characters from american and european comicdom.

Bellissimo.

This was decent, but the best part of the story was the obvious reference to Groucho Marx.

I've never heard of Dylan Dog, and after this, I have no inclination to read about him. The Batman cast carried this comic. I found Groucho to be annoying, but I'll still read the next issue as it was a good story. Can't complain about an 80-page comic.

That one pick my curiosity but unfortunately I rapidly lost interest in it. Mainly because of Dylan Dog which I couldn't care less about. I won't continue with this series.

Dylan Dog e Batman insieme?

When the Joker comes to London to ally himself with Dr Xarabas, Batman allies himself with London's Nightmare Investigator, Dylan Dog.

And so we get the DC/ Sergio Bonelli crossover. As the Xarabas and Joker's plan to find the soul to prolong life becomes clear, Dylan must travel to Hell, aided by John Constantine and the Demon, Etrigan.

I originally read (the final part of) this adventure in the Italian Sergio Bonelli comic books and I'm pleased it's been translated into English and reprinted by DC.

Batman and Dylan aren’t buddies but a respect grows through this adventure.

The disappointment is the ending, it seems tame for a good three-parter. I rated the Italian version three stars, but this was based on just reading the last issue. Having  now read the whole story, and the ending is still tame, it's four stars or 7/10

Hopefully we'll now get the Nathan Never/ Justice League and Flash/ Zagor Crossovers in English too.

Scoring: 0 bad; 1-3 poor; 4-6 average; 7-9 good; 10 excellent.

So I can't find anyone that's put this up in English anywhere, storygraph or here. Storygraph doesn't even have the 1st issue. So, I admittedly have never heard of Dylan Dog until I saw previews for this, and don't know anything about him. Or the situation. But, this seems like it's going to be a good Batman story, and a good detective story, so I'm here for it. Dylan is a likeably weird guy, I guess kind of like Constantine but somehow less obnoxious? (Maybe a detractor for some people but I like him more so far) and Batman is.. Batman. And the art is just, wonderful. I like how it fits the mood, the linework, shading, and just overall character design is nice and clean, easy to distinguish between characters, and I would REALLY like an explanation of what Groucho Marx is doing as this guy's assistant. I can hear him saying his dialogue in the story, so kudos to them for capturing that. I was planning to pass on this, but I'm glad I didn't. I'm very intrigued.

This was fun! My rating will probably go higher for future issues as long as the story proves to be good and I get used to the characters. The art is fantastic! The overall story was interesting and had a good set-up, especially because the character of Dylan Dog is unknown to me, but I thought he was established well for first-time readers.

However, I think because he is new to me, it took me a second to nail down the exact tone of the book, which may have also been impeded by the dialogue. The dialogue isn't bad, it just seems a little unnatural and long winded sometimes -- I'm not certain if this was translated to English from a different language. If so, that makes sense, and the slightly wonky dialogue ultimately won't turn me far away from the story.

Well... Where do I start...
Getting two great detectives and not seeing them do any "detecting" just sucks.

This book is highly based on the stereotypes of the both characters and there is a lot of dialogue exchange to stress that. The story is there just to enrich "the cast" not too do proper plotting.

In reality this would be a 3, but I enjoyed seeing Batman and Dylan together, this the 4 star rating.

Trying to catch up on some of the newer issues because I have not visited Gotham in a few years. The art is absolutely stunning, and I really like this Dylan Dog guy. The dynamic between him and Bruce is perfect, I kind of love them together. I think that some of the beginning dialogue could be better, but it definitely gets better towards the end. Definitely will be reading part 2 immediately 🖤

A differenza dell'albo "Dylan Dog Batman vol. Unica pecca:

Get ready for a thrilling team-up! The highly anticipated crossover event between Batman and Dylan Dog has finally arrived in the United States, courtesy of Sergio Bonelli Editore & DC Comics. As a newcomer to the world of Dylan Dog, I was blown away by the first issue of this epic collaboration. The story seamlessly weaves together the dark and gritty world of Batman with the supernatural and eerie atmosphere of Dylan Dog. The artwork is stunning, with vivid colors and detailed illustrations that bring the characters to life. The characters are well-developed and believable, with Batman's brooding intensity perfectly complemented by Dylan Dog's quirky and offbeat personality. I was particularly intrigued by Dylan Dog's complex and mysterious backstory, which adds depth to the story. Overall, this crossover event is a must-read for fans of both characters, offering a unique and thrilling adventure that will leave you eager for more.

PS. Dylan's buddy/partner Groucho, who looks just like Groucho Marx, would make a great quirky mini-series if he teamed up with Alfred Pennyworth.

Batman and half his villain gallery heads to London where he meets this Dylan Dog character. Is it an established character from some other franchise? I don’t know and I don’t care to look it up.

Great art and lovely coloring. Cringe writing at times, but the story is pretty exciting. I’m interested in what’s next

I haven't read a Batman comic for about 2 or 3 decades and its been even longer since I've read a crossover Batman comic after being thoroughly bored by the Predator & Judge Dredd crossovers. However, the notion of Batman joining the wild world of surreal Italian horror comic Dylan Dog was just too powerful to resist at least trying out issue one.

Then when I got home and saw the credits were all Italians, I knew this was going to be a Dylan Dog comic through and through with Batman and his DC friends as visitors. I knew it would be good. I didn't realize it would be THIS good. Genuinely laughed out loud twice. Some great action. Some heady horror.

It's also a chunky little issue, great value. No idea how many issues it will run for but I am definitely in for the ride.

The Dark Knight and the Nightmare Investigator cross paths in a crazy team up…

Dylan Dog and Batman find their booths crossing as the Gotham City crusader travels to London in pursuit of the Joker…who has a history with Dylan’s archenemy that’s currently believed dead.

Whether or not you know that much about Dylan dog, he has his own motives and supporting cast which make up part of this first issue. Meanwhile, Killer Croc and Catwoman also pop up to get involved.

Unsure where the story will go, but seeing Batman forced to work with a pragmatic detective that isn’t easily intimidated him by him is pretty interesting.
