Nico: I’ve never believed in coincidences. I am a man that believes in facts. It wasn’t a coincidence that my papà was the last person to see Ocean before she disappeared. The deeper I dig into her past, the more I find out about the girl who turned my world upside down. I may be a liar, but Ocean lied too. But now I know who she truly is... and what she is capable of. She may have run and hidden once but it won’t happen again. Because she is mine and if I have to burn the whole world down, just to find her, I will. And when I do? I will make her wish her family found her instead.
Ocean:
It’s funny how a single moment can change your life. And in my case, it’s been a series of moments. I spent months running from my family, intending to build myself a better life. Then I met him. Nico Marchetti. The devil in a designer suit. He caught me in his web, consuming me until I had no choice but to fall in love with him. But he didn’t love me back. That much was clear when his father approached me and told me the truth. I knew he was powerful but how did I not see the real him? I was stupid. Young and naive. But not anymore. I see him for who he really is. I hid once and now I will do it again. I can only hope Nico never finds me and the secret I am hiding from him. Because if he does... My life will be over.
Nico is unhinged and to be honest, fucking annoying. He gets upset that Ocean got sand in her vagina after he banged her at the beach while she was telling him no 🙄 he gets upset that she was wearing a tampon while she was on her ma’i (period) saying that only he can be inside her. This guy is a trip and instead of finding his asshole-alpha ways hot like I do in most books that have a MMC w/ red flags, I found it cringy and irritating. Ocean with no backbone just goes along with everything he says. She’ll argue, pitifully, even though it does nothing for her because what Nico wants, Nico gets. Truly annoying lol. I also had to skim the sex parts because they became boring and repetitive since the first book.

“That’s the difference, Nico. I’m nineteen, so I get a little leeway when it comes to acting like a child. You’re pushing thirty. It’s a bit embarrassing when you do it.” That's the perfect way to describe the MMC. Embarrassing. Nico was so immature that it was difficult to read. I almost DNF'd, but I pushed through because I was hoping he would have some sort of redeeming quality. Spoiler alert! He doesn't. He's just gross. The FMC was pathetic and had zero backbone. Whatever Nico wanted, he got. 🙄 This whole book gave me the ick.
Well the second half to Nico and Ocean’s story was certainly a little better than the first book. We pick up with Ocean running, at the threats of Lorenzo Marchetti. We find that Lorenzo has died, leaving Nico as Don. It’s a full year before he finds Ocean, who had his child without him ever knowing she was pregnant.
The middle of the story we basically fall into the daily life and repair of Nico and Ocean’s relationship. Nico hasn’t gained any softness from being away from Ocean for an entire year, which I was really hoping to witness. Ocean fought Nico, but I would’ve loved to see her force Nico’s jealousy when the asshole brought his ex fiancé to dinner under the guise of wife. I was hoping with all my hope that Ocean would casually bring up Harrison, the man she dated while away from Nico, just because Nico deserved the heartache. Maybe I was just being petty.
The end of the story results in two gunfights; one at the club, the other at the warehouse where Ocean was being held by Giuseppe (Lorenzo’s adviser), Vadim (Russian leader), and Ocean’s own abusive father. We see Nico get Oceab back, but Dante die at the club. Allegra, Nico’s sister is absolutely devastated, but her book is next so we’ll get her story. We close out this book with Allegra agreeing to honor her fathers sick contract, being married off to the Romanian’s, to be in inside agent for Nico.
I enjoyed this one more than the previous one. Oceans disappearance and her secret baby added drama that I loved. We saw Nico admit to loving Ocean. He was still his dirty talking, demanding, alpha self- truly worthy of being the Don of the Italian Mafia.
4.5 Stars

So, this one was just so full of plot holes and easy way outs.
Let’s start from the beginning. H was in an arranged marriage and, he still confirmed even to h face that he would have gone through with the marriage because it was his duty and h would have been his side piece. But, then his father is gunned down and he stops the engagement. How? His sister has a contract, how on earth he didn’t have one? Cmon! And why he didn’t fulfill his duty? That part doesn’t make any sense.
Let’s move on- again, sex and nothing else. Their relationship didn’t evolve further than sex. That’s it! That’s their love!
Also, the way how he absolutely didn’t care about her and only himself. He felt like egomaniac. I love , I absolutely love anti heroes, but he was just plain nasty at the times, not the nasty that’s hot but that ick. I don’t know but, he rubbed me the wrong way with his selfish ways.
He was just selfish, self centred, egomaniac and times plain stupid.
🔶 secret baby 🔶 1 y separation 🔶 ow drama ( H let’s h believe he is married and bring his ex fiancée to the dinner) 🔶 om drama- h goes to a date with om 🔶 both were celibate during separation 🔶 h goes secretly on birth control 🔶 H wants to get h pregnant again 🔶 H drugs h and places tracking device under her skin 🔶 H also places tracking device to his son 🔶 H is cruel to h 🔶 super j/p H 🔶 marriage 🔶 HEA with an Epilogue
What a fantastic conclusion to the duet! Super fast paced with tons of spicy times. Nico is crazy. Cra 👏🏼 zy👏🏼. He needs his own personal category for how off the chain he runs 🤣🤣. He's controlling, manipulative, obsessive, and I completely hate that I love him so much 🙈. This man completely stays the course and only softens by a fraction near the end of the book. If you like your book boyfriends with all the 🚩🚩🚩, this duet will definitely be for you too! I can't WAIT to see what direction Kelly is going to go with Allegra's book. Super excited!
"She ran and never looked back but little did she knew that's not the end because I am the chaser and I never lose " (These are my own lines which I think suits best with the plot)
Obsessed! I am obsessed with Nico Marchetti and his unhinged behavior. He is completely crazy about her, the kind of crazy that will make you run for your life in reality, however, in this fiction I want nothing more than Nico to come alive.
The plot is amazing with right amount of spice and thrill. I loved Ocean's resilience against him and the way he tames her. There are many charters I love in this store and Nico's mother is one of them.
And now I am even more intrigued to read Allegra's(Nico's sister) story. My heart hurts for her for the kind of ending she got but I am 100% positive she will get her HEA...
the second lowkey pissed me off. like girl why did she just give in so easily 😭 he should’ve begged her to come back and groveled !! they’re cute together but idk i got annoyed so many times. definitely read the first book before this one. it’s a duet !!
This story picks up right where book 1 left off. Ocean on the run.. again but now with a broken heart... and a little extra baggage 😉. Nico is going a little unhinged with his woman vanishing like she never existed but when you have someone who never gives up.. its only a matter of time before he comes and collects. In this conclusion we get to find out who Ocean is and why she was originally on the run and unfortunately.. its not pretty let's just say papa Marchetti and daddy Ocean have a lot on common.
Man my boy Nico is relentless. And he is pissed. I will say I enjoyed book 1 more than book 2 only because I'm a rational person and nico was in bully territory with his punishment of ocean's crimes even tho her reasons for running.. were legit lol but I still liked the book and enjoyed getting to read all of Nico's crazy and irrational rules for her haha. Although miss Kelly I'm a little upset about the events that happened at the end of the book with the club why?!? I'm hoping this plays into what he discussed with Nico and it's not really true because that made me sad. Thank you so much for letting me read this early I had a blast!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️ I finished Twisted In Obsession by Kelly Kelsey. If y’all remember I chose Nico as my man for Morally Gray Monday last week. Dancing in Sin is the first book and this is the second part of the duet. Let me just warn you guys Ocean and Nico’s path to HEA is rocky. It gets there and they do have a HEA but there are times I wanted to throttle them both.
There are so many reasons to read these books!
NICO!!!! He is OTT with a capital O. Possessive x100.
There was a tampon scene that was just amazing 🤣. I know some of y’all live for those period 🩸scenes.
No cheating or sharing
Br33ding
And secret baby
But still more br33ding
Strong FMC
Insane MC
Lots of mafia storyline
FMC is stripper
Found family
Heart stopping action
Great smut included . Nico is a βεαδτ in the bedroom. 😏
Favorite Nico quote: “Don’t say another word, Ocean. If you do, I will have no choice but to stυff your mouth full of my 🍆 and fυcκ your throατ until you can’t speak for a week.”
Read it!!! Like now! Go read it. And if you want to throw you kindle take a deep breath and keep reading. It’s worth it. The next book is Nico’s sister’s story and I can’t wait!
I devoured this book so fast, it's honestly a bit embarrassing. Smut and dirty talk is a bit repetitive. I would have liked it so much better if ML have a redeeming or groveling ARC-he didn't. He's unhinged, crazy MF, reading his POV gave me the ick. FL has no personality whatsoever and stayed as a trophy wife until the end. So even though the characters made me roll my eyes a lot, i actually liked the unpredictability of the plot and how fast paced everything is. I never would have imagined this book will start the way that it did after the cliffhanger ending in book 1 so I'm giving it one more star. Not sure if I will be picking up the next book though- Allegra's story.
“Ocean doesn’t know it, but she consumes me. My obsession for her runs so deep, I feel her in every part of my body. In my soul. Consuming me. Owning me.”
After Dancing in Sin I knew I needed to know the rest of Nico and Ocean’s story. Nico is completely unhinged and obsessed with Ocean that you hate to love him. Twisted in Obsession picks up right where Book One left off and has you hooked instantly.
Even knowing Nico’s obsession for Ocean from book one he loves to prove how much stronger it is in this book. With their time apart Ocean proves To herself how much she has grown emotionally and physically, especially when she fights back to Nico.
The chemistry and sexual scenes between Nico and Ocean were HOT. 🥵 I was hooked and loved this story even with the couple of plot twists that got thrown in this book. I can’t wait for the next Marchetti family book.
I like the authors writing style, the ending was a surprise for sure. I didn’t hate the story, but it wasn’t my favorite. Nico is a lot, I personally didn’t like him one bit, he gave me major ick in this book more so than in the first book. Ocean is just a long for the ride, I don’t really know how to describe her. Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Story ⭐️⭐️⭐️
3.5 I just love how this unhinged psycho makes me laugh. Will I read the third book in series? Probably. But only because I hope to see more of said idiot. I have a soft spot for his "impressive" vocabulary.
tell me why this 30-something years old mafia DON acts like a man child? throwing tantrum everywhere (not just to our heroine but to EVERYONE - even in front of his enemies...) very volatile, which someone in the book called it out. the author also called out that this hero is being a child when he's supposed to be 30-something (Ocean said it IN the book...). basically someone has too much power and dont know how to act with it. even how he treats his CLOSEST friend (not Dante but Leo... like wth) maybe you like this type of mafia hero but safe to say, i read so much mafia that this doesn't feel authentic to the mafia world.
i was really enjoying the first quarter but it just went downhill, especially not how he treated Ocean but also, Ocean was a freaking DOORMAT, which didnt help... Romeo's parts were cute but that's it. the spice were hot but didnt save this book.
yeah, concept and plot couldve been a fav book of mine but the execution and writing failed. (writing was fine but need a bit more editing because those chunky/whole page dialogue and monologue NEED to go.)
like i really dont think it’s a GOOD book. but it’s entertaining somehow.
the mafia plot is not that bad, tho just like every other mafia book.
what is putting me off is, i don’t feel the love. i don’t believe nico is in love with ocean. despite him being „obsessed with her the moment he saw her“. like i don’t buy it. and his kink with her sleeping is still putting me off too.
ocean being in love with him is not thaaaat unbelievable. she literally had anyone else and then nico putting all that attention on her, being her first everything,.. like of course she’s gonna develop feelings. but nico is kinda insane.
but oh well.
also dante is 10000% alive. like no way he just died like that. and allegra getting her own book just proves that he’s not gone. if he’s not allegra’s love interest then i don’t know. it’s just so obvious. dante can’t be dead. i liked him and allegra ngl.
tho i probably won’t read that because.. i just don’t feel like it. even though im curious about how it’s going to be with the marriage arrangement with the romanos and allegra but still. probably no for me.
I went into this series with such high hopes. It had everything that I love in a dark mafia romance. Unfortunately, it fell flat for me.
Ocean’s story was completely unbelievable. How does a 17 y/o “escape” like she did from her affluent family without anyone finding her. Then, she meets Nico at the strip club she works at not knowing she was working for the mafia.
Nico becomes obsessed with little Ocean and completely goes off the deep end. The guy had some severe obsessive/possessive tendencies towards her. Everything with Nico was “my” this “my” that when it came to Ocean it got exhausting. I just couldn’t do it anymore so I skimmed til the end.
Now, this is what really annoyed me, the books end at the 84 ish%. The rest of the book is the author giving us readers a taste of her other books that she has in her collection. FFS, give the readers a warning they aren’t getting a whole book as advertised! I’m sure that there are others who absolutely loved this duet but I am not one of them. So, you can take my review with a grain of salt or not 🤷🏻♀️. Just my personal opinion.
I really hoped the second book will make a softer Nico but I was wrong.
1. Maybe the book style is just not for me but in my opinion he raped her multiple times bc she clearly said no.
2. That's maybe also a me problem but NEVER would I have sex when our baby sleeps right next to our bed. That felt so wrong.
Still I tried to continue bc I'm someone who almost never DNF's a book.
But I was out when Nico got mad bc Ocean had a tampon in "her"...sorry... "his cunt". quote: „Rage like I have never known, fills me. How dare she have something else shoved in my cunt, even if that something is a damn tampon." Yeah how dare she for being a woman & to get her period. 🙄

And the story continues ….. you will not be disappointed! Once again, I could not put this book down, page to page, chapter to chapter - you will be hooked from the start! Nico cannot forget about Ocean and all Ocean wants to do is forget about Nico. He just wants to find her - is this obsession or does he actually love her? Just for the record, you will not be disappointed, the heat is still there 🥵🌶️🥵🌶️
Each of the two main characters, Nico and Ocean, have secrets that they do no want each other to know. What will happen now they are out in the open? Will they be able to forgive each other and move on with a future together? Are they able to forgive each other? Will the relationship survive and will they trust each other? Overall, I would highly recommend this book and you will not be disappointed 😊😊

Twisted In Obsession is second book of The Marchetti Family Series by Kelly Kelsey. I thought the first book was really good but I read this book in one day. It is really a good story. This book opens up two weeks later where Dancing in Sin ends. After Ocean Embers (FMC) is confronted by Nico Marchetti’s (MFC) father Don Lorenzo is killed by bratva. Nico in the midst of everything Ocean is missing and Nico finds out that his father paid Ocean to leave and told her he was engaged to a Mafia Princess and Ocean was just his side piece and nothing more. So Ocean runs and Lyre. During this time she discovers she is pregnant. A woman named Patty takes her in and offers her a job and a place to stay. Patty becomes the mom Lyre wants. A year passes and Nico is still looking for her. He is determined to find her because she belongs to him and him alone. By chance she is found and this is when Nico discovers she has had a baby boy named Romeo. When Dante (Nico’s BFF) and Nico take a look at the baby, he immediately knows this is his son. Nico takes both Ocean and Romeo back to the main home in The Hamptons to begin their journey back to one another. The road back is not smooth at all. The lies between the both of them are revealed and they both need to heal from their hurts to move toward each other. Even though Nico and Ocean were a part for over a year, they still have the 🔥🔥🔥for each other. In the meantime, the side characters add drama to the story…Dante, Allegra, Vadim, Leo and others. Chapter 43 blew me away and left me many questions. I hope they are answered in Allegra’s story – the third book of this series.
This review may contain spoilers from the first book Dancing in Sin.
My rating is 3.5 and here is why.
After Ocean ran away, things changed within the organization. Nico became the Don after his father was killed and he now ruled the mafia with an iron fist snuffing out any traitors that have remained among their ranks.
I hated Nico's character in this book, the hatred and vengefulness he feels toward Ocean for something out of her control is appalling, to say the least. He is trying to punish her in any way he can, even though his father was the reason for everything. He is mad at her, but if his father was still alive, Ocean would have been his side piece, and he would have married another to make his father and the organization happy. I get that things can be difficult, but I sometimes feel the growth within Nico is for the worst. I honestly feel bad for Ocean in this book and wish she was more confident to leave him behind to hide away again in a small quiet town with no drama, deceit, or lies. As the story goes, she stays with his abusive and possessive personality and feels she can't live without him. Sadly, it reminds me of Stockholm Syndrome, he wisped her away and kept her locked in the Hamptons with his family for "safety". Never letting her leave without bodyguards and forbidding her from going to the city. She is also 19 and refuses to listen to anything she says and is set on getting her pregnant regardless of her protest. I wish the story was written differently and after the year apart Nico had time to grow and show her something other than some sort of mind game or forcefulness.
That cliffhanger from book 1 was well worth the wait to see what happens next between Nico and Ocean!
In Twisted In Obsession, we carry off from the cliffhanger with Ocean on the run and Nico being a ruthless, pissed-off grumpy man wanting the one thing that keeps getting away from him: Ocean! Nico this whole time was 5/5 morally grey, red flags all over and just a ticking time bomb. The secrets they held from each other were definitely unexpected and I really questioned different ways their story would play out. Kelly's way of writing this beautiful duet was amazing. She really portrayed emotions, gave an AMAZING storyline with 2 strong FMC and MMC characters, the twists for dayyys, the unhinged man of Nico, and THE SPICEEEEEEE! 5/5 for the spice alone, even if it wasn't as many scenes as book 1, I still loved every minute of it. Especially Nico being a DOM in the bed! He knows what he is doing and he does well, yet again.
I'm sad their story is over, but I can not wait to read Allegra's! Kelly, you have a forever fan. Please write more books so I can be in book heaven yet again!
So I read this book and stop at the 27 chapter I can't continue. The heroine thought hero is getting married to someone else so she left, which is fair enough. Then instead of explaining and trying to get the heroine trust he is punishing her with his petty attitudes?!He kept grumbling that the heroine didn't tell him about the baby. But what about him and his fiancée he even had the gut to say he will have married her if he bad to. Let's not talk about this diner where he invite his ex fiancée. And even after hearing the heroine chaotic upbringing he didn't soften
I can't help thinking that had the heroine been in a loving family she will not met the hero and would have a better life. For me she escape a toxic and abusive environment and get caged in a new one. The heroine tried to stand up the hero but each times he will come up with some insults. I read and love books where the hero take 'control' of the heroine life as he is obsessed with her. But this hero he did it in such disrespect and disregard the heroine feelings. To the point that it's abusive. For me it's another book where abusive relationship is romanticized.
OMG! What an incredible and utterly spicy conclusion that was!
Nico takes unhinged and obsessed to a whole new level. Do I love his craziness? 100%. He’s possessive, irrational, manipulative, protective and totally addictive. And I could not get enough of this man.
Ocean tries to protect herself against Nico, but he has a way of breaking down everyone of her walls and forces himself into her life to where she can’t live without him and needs his brand of crazy. I loved that about these two. She could run but never hide from Nico.
The smut contained within the pages of this story had my body tingling all over. It was spicy, kinky and so freaking HOT!!!
This story was amazing. It had me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails with anticipation of what Nico would do, and gasping with delight over what he does. There were many little twists and turns throughout with all kinds of adrenaline inducing moments that kept me glued to the pages and unwilling to put the book down.
5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read Mafia Romance!! Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2024 OMG this book literally took my breath away and had me on the edge of my seat holding on for dear life!! It was freaking fantastic and I am definitely hooked on this author ! This is the conclusion of Nico and Ocean’s story. Nico is-cold-hearted and ruthless, he will down right make you angry one minute, melt your insides the next, and leave you needing and wanting more. This man tries so hard not to fall for Ocean, but failed miserably, but it’s inevitable. They both craves each other’s touch. Their road is not an easy one and there is danger lurking in the shadows trying to take Ocean away from him and leave him with nothing. If you love a couple who is meant to be but fights their desires every step of the way and a story with a bit of danger and mystery then you absolutely have to read this. Ms Kelly leaves us with a pretty hefty cliffhanger that leaves us with so many questions but the wait for the next book, Allegra’s story is going to be worth the wait. Highly recommend this book!!
I could not put this book down! I cannot imagine what will happen next, I NEED Allegra's story!
Ocean gets so strong throughout this novel. The last one definitely tested her, but in this next book I think the reader can really see her develop into her own person. The climax was a little anticipated, but so full of drama I couldn't not love it.
Nico is his usual alpha, controlling, bit of an a$$ self and I cannot explain the amount of expletives that were used during several scenes. But I think the saying 'You can run, but you can't hide' is the main theme here. Despite his father's attempt in the ending of Dancing in Obsession, Nico doesn't let Ocean get away, punishing her for what he considers a betrayal and fighting his own love for her. No matter what, Nico never lets anyone get in the way of what he wants. And he wants Ocean.
Tropes: Second Chance, Secret Baby, Mafia, kidnapping (sort of?)
What a brilliant conclusion to this duet!! Kelly definitely didnt play when it came to Twisted In Obsession. Just like the first book in the duet, Twisted In Obsession is a fast pace novel, answering all the mysteries from Dancing In Sin. In true Kelly fashion we get tons of delicious spice, Alpha men that leave you drooling. The ending is a heartbreaking one but it also sets up for another series within this world. I’m super excited for Allegra’s book with the ending Kelly gave us.
I’m so happy for Ocean’s & Nico’s happy ending. They deserved it after the journey they both went through. Every Nico scene left me feeling hot😏😏
If you’re for a fast paced second chance mafia duet with plenty of spice, Alpha men, loveable side characters and found family. Definitely check out Dancing In Sin & Twisted In Obsession both are available on amazon & KU!
2.5 ⭐️. Honestly didn’t even know there was a first book to this but thank god I didn’t read it. Kinda dnf halfway and just skimmed through as I quite literally couldn’t stand Nico, he was a piece of shit and just a controlling f***, like I guess he changed or whatever in the end but not really, there wasn’t really any love I feel, I mean there was but wasn’t, if you know just kind of sprung on and forced. Nico just really pissed me off like I guess it was possessive but was taken really too far where it was just like every other shitty old mafia man to be arranged to for marriage in any other book. Don’t know what to say about Ocean, I would say she wasn’t really expressed or gone to in deep when it was her pov but I didn’t read the first book so I can’t say anything. But overall it was just spoiled because of the Mmc could’ve been better if it was written better I guess, like the plot was average.
