"Return of the Lone Marshal" is a historical adventure novel of approximately 60,000 words. No cliffhangers, only pure unadulterated action.
Outstanding, well written story that grabs you instantly and keeps you turning the pages until you have finished it. Ethan Westfield has done an outstanding job with this story that is filled with plot twists, tons of action, drama, murder, adventure, and much more. Marshal Grayson Ford is a wounded soul and withdrew from everyone and everything after he had accidentally shot a young boy while cleaning out a gang that had been bad news for his jurisdiction for awhile. After 10 years he received a letter asking him to return to help Penelope, the granddaughter of the judge who had taken him in and raised him. have
This is a great story of a man that was a Marshal. His greatest influence growing up had been a judge whom he looked up to as a father. And the granddaughter the judge was raising. In the line of duty he accidentally killed a ten year old boy who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He left for 10 years and went to live on another property the judge owned. Someone sent him a message saying the judges granddaughter was in trouble so he returns to Dry Creek to help. Now the action begins.
I enjoyed the novel but I honestly wonder if a lawman in the 'wild west' would indulge in so much introspection. Like all good westerns it followed the usual script pattern involving righting wrongs, evil and goodness not to mention romance. It flows along nicely and is easily read so worth the cheap price.
Gritty western story of a marshall that accidently killed a young boy when dealing with some outlaws and it has affected him for the last 10 years. Then his good friend is murdered and he is back in the war with the bad guys. Good wins but with a hard lesson death comes for us all.
He gets a letter from an old friend — typed!!! He knows it is not from him - so he goes to see what is happening. He finds his daughter — but the friend is dead!!! This is an amazing book — lots of action and a great story!
This is the story of a young man who had become the marshal of the small town where he lived and tells of how he and his friends get rid of the outlaws that were trying to run the town. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
What a wonderful story. Very well written, filled with great characters, adventures, suspense and love. A man filled with regrets gets a second chance for redemption.
It surprised me. I enjoyed the book. Great storyline and characters. Who doesn't like a good treasure hunt. Even at 61 I still like to watch a good Easter egg hunt.
