10 books4 followersപ്രശസ്ത കഥാകൃത്തും നോവലിസ്റ്റും. 1928ല്‍ കോഴിക്കോട്ട് ജനിച്ചു. കേരള കൗമുദി കോഴിക്കോട് യൂണിറ്റ് എഡിറ്റര്‍, കേരള സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി നിര്‍വാഹകസമിതിയിലും കേരളസംഗീതനാടക അക്കാദമി ഭരണസമിതിയിലും അംഗം, സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി പ്രസിഡണ്ട് എന്നീ നിലകളില്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കണ്ണ്, ഹിരണ്യകശിപു, എണ്ണപ്പാടം, മരം, അറബിപ്പൊന്ന് (എം.ടി.യും ചേര്‍ന്നെഴുതിയത്) നല്ലവരുടെ ലോകം, തൊപ്പിയും തട്ടവും, പ്രസിഡണ്ടിന്റെ മരണം, മെഴുകുതിരികള്‍ തുടങ്ങി നിരവധി കൃതികളുടെ രചയിതാവ്. കേരളസാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി അവാര്‍ഡ്, കേന്ദ്രസാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി അവാര്‍ഡ് ഇവ ലഭിച്ചു. 2003ല്‍ അന്തരിച്ചു. ഭാര്യ: ഇമ്പിച്ചി പാത്തുമ്മബി.
N. P. Mohammed, popularly known by his initials N.P., was a Malayalam novelist and short story writer from Kerala,South India. He, along with his contemporaries like M. T. Vasudevan Nair, O. V. Vijayan, Kakkanadan and Kamala Das ushered in a modernist movement in Malayalam fiction in the late 1950s. During his long literary career, NP served as the President of Kerala Sahitya Akademi. His novel Daivathinte Kannu won the Kendra Sahithya Academy Award (Malayalam) in 1993. Malayalam writer and academic N. P. Hafiz Mohamad is the son of N. P. Mohammed.
