I love Tess Thompson's books and have read all of them. They are stories about love and family. I always have have a smile on my face after I have read one. Caspian's story did just that! I can't wait for the next book about one of the brothers!

Elliott, brillante pasticcera, è in cerca di un posto dove poter ricominciare dopo la morte dell'amata zia e la disavventura con uno stalker.
Arriva a Bluefern, nel Montana e viene assunta nel ristorante della famiglia Moon, gestito da Caspian.
Caspian è un brillante chef, ma è sempre stato quello strano della famiglia: soffre di ADHD e di dislessia, e non ha mai voluto andarsene dal ranch. Caspian rimane subito molto colpito da Elliott ma la sua regola di non farsi coinvolgere dalle dipendenti lo blocca.
Dopo quasi un anno la vita di Elliott sembra andare molto bene, anche se l'attrazione per il suo capo la mette in difficoltà.
Il matrimonio del fratello maggiore di Caspian, Atticus, sarà l'occasione forse per farsi avanti?
E se nel suo futuro ci fosse una nuova famiglia ma anche un incubo che ritorna dal passato?
Questo terzo volume della serie Moon mi è piaciuto un po' di più rispetto al libro dedicato ad Atticus. Caspian ed Elliott sono due bei personaggi, ben caratterizzati.
Forse l'ultimo quarto di libro è stata un po' strana, con questo ritorno inaspettato e la rivelazione sulle origini di Elliott. E la risoluzione del problema è stata troppo facile.
Caspian ed Elliott insieme sono molto dolci.
L'autrice ha lasciato qua e là qualche indizio per le coppie protagoniste dei libri successivi e sono sicura che li leggerò.
Un libro senza spicy, giusto un paio di baci, che funziona.

Elliot is running in fear, she lost her only family and uproots her life into Bluefern, Montana landing a job at the Crescent Moon Ranch.
Caspian is a workaholic, he has put up walls that no one can penetrate.
Their story is a sweet one and I absolutely LOVE the Moon family. I can't wait for the next installment of this series. Tess is a master at creating characters we love!

Oggi desidero parlarvi del terzo romanzo della serie “Crescent Moon Ranch” che oltre a raccontare la storia dell’intera famiglia Moon, si dedica nello specifico al secondogenito Caspian, lo chef del ristorante del ranch, ora alla prese con una pasticcera che ha tutte le carte in regola per far crollare ogni sua incertezza, timore, difficoltà e rigidità, comprese quelle regole autoimposte, alle quali ha dovuto fare ricorso negli anni, per mettere in salvo il proprio cuore e insieme a esso, l’equilibrio e le sorti dell’attività di famiglia. Sono pronta a condividere con voi le mie impressioni, ma ciò che non riuscirò mai a trasmettervi con le parole, è il soffuso e avvolgente romanticismo e sentimentalismo che trasuda da questo romanzo, così come la delicatezza e l’intensità della trama, raccontata attraverso lo stile narrativo dell’autrice, che riesce a infondere alle pagine il sapore dell’appartenenza e quel calore particolare e unico, che durante la lettura avvolge e riscalda, lo stesso al quale alla fine ci si abbandona, sicuri di essere compresi e capiti. Una sensazione che fa luccicare gli occhi e ammorbidire il cuore, perchè è una caratteristica che ho riscontrato nei romanzi della Thompson, nei quali riesce sempre veicolare i buoni sentimenti, i valori importanti e quel senso di intimità e di appartenenza che soltanto i piccoli centri urbani e le grandi famiglie numerose sanno regalare.
"Perché una persona con il suo pedigree avrebbe voluto lavorare per me, uno chef senza nome che non aveva intenzione di fare altro? Ero il contrario di un pezzo grosso, gestivo un ristorante per il ranch della mia famiglia."
Dopo aver letto la storia di mamma Stella e quella di Atticus Moon, il primogenito, ora in "Harvest Moon", è Caspian a essere il protagonista, insieme alla travolgente Elliot. Un giovane uomo ancora in balìa degli strascichi delle esperienze che l’hanno segnato fin da bambino, ovvero il disprezzo e la derisione da parte del padre biologico, che non ha mai visto nulla di buono in lui, ma soltanto i segni dell'incapacità e dell'inettitudine. Le ragioni del suo essere "speciale” sono diverse, ma questo non ha mai inficiato la sua efficienza, il suo talento e la sua abilità nel dirigere in maniera esemplare, puntuale ed attenta la cucina, così come di elaborare ricette con passione, creando piatti di alto livello che sono diventati molto richiesti dagli avventori del BunkHouse, il ristorante del ranch. Ma con i dolci se la cava altrettanto bene, ed è per questo motivo che ha dovuto mettersi alla ricerca di una pasticcera!
"Avevo la vita che volevo. Un ristorante. La mia famiglia vicina. Vivevo nella terra di Dio, qui nel Montana occidentale. Cosa poteva desiderare di più un Moon? Una signora Moon?"
A rispondere all’annuncio è Elliot, una donna dalla personalità irresistibile, ardita e sorridente, ma che nasconde dietro a una tempra invidiabile, molti segreti legati al suo passato. Che cosa l’ha spinta a trasferirsi in un posto sperduto del Montana? Senza più nessuno, Elliot appare forte e tenera, solida e allo stesso fragile, perché anche lei è alle prese con un terribile trauma vissuto da bambina e che ancora non le permette di avere fiducia nel prossimo e di credere ancora, soprattutto nella continuità dei rapporti. Una storia che in alcuni momenti stringe il cuore, mentre fa riflettere sull’entità del danno che certe solitudini e rifiuti, possono lasciare sulla personalità dei bambini, che rimasti soli al mondo, non hanno neppure un briciolo d’amore al quale aggrapparsi, per sopravvivere e per scongiurare l’aggravarsi e il maturare di stati confusionali, che possono degenerano in vere e proprie follie.
"Negli ultimi minuti mi ero ritrovato a mettere in discussione tutto ciò che avevo detto. Elliot Young mi aveva fatto perdere la calma e avevamo trascorso solo pochi minuti insieme"
Come è facile intuire, per quanto quella tra Elliot e Caspian sia una storia tenera, dolce e bellissima, non è tutta latte e miele, perché esiste molto altro, soprattutto una componente angst che fa capolino tra le righe, in sintonia con la sofferenza che per ragioni diverse, fa parte di entrambi i protagonisti, che sin da bambini hanno dovuto affrontare esperienze difficili, che hanno modificato il loro modo di confrontarsi con gli altri, soprattutto nella sfera sentimentale. Si tratta di un bagaglio pesante, diverso ma altrettanto tossico, che entrambi portano sulle spalle e che non sono ancora riusciti a risolvere e a dimenticare. Una sorta di handicap interiore che, consapevolmente o inconsapevolmente, si riversa nel loro presente, sotto forma di rigidità, diffidenza, timori, distacco e chiusura. L’amore può fare paura perché esige l’abbandono totale, ma è pur vero che si tratta di una forza talmente potente e inarrestabile, da essere la sola in grado di abbattere ogni barriera, condizionamento e convinzione. Al cuore non si comanda e Caspian ed Elliot, avranno occasione di capirlo, seppur nella maniera più dura, ma anche la più efficace. Solo dopo aver toccato il fondo e rischiato di perdere tutto, saranno disposti a cedere le armi e ad abbassare gli scudi, per abbandonarsi totalmente e senza più remore a questo sentimento potente, bellissimo e risanatore, proprio quello che hanno sempre sognato, seppur convinti di non esserne degni e meritevoli.
«Sento che sto guarendo ogni giorno che sono qui.» «Mi fa piacere sentirlo.» «Davvero?» «Certo. Diciamo che spero che tu non te ne vada mai.»
Una storia bellissima e con un finale scoppiettante e ricco di suspense che ancora una volta, riesce a mettere a soqquadro i delicati equilibri e la vita serena della famiglia Moon, protagonista già in passato, di eventi altrettanto drammatici e sconvolgenti che una volta superati, hanno avuto il merito di renderli tra loro, ancora di più uniti e più forti. La verità è che di volta in volta, tutti insieme si chiudono a cerchio per proteggere a turno, l'elemento a rischio, formando un unico fronte compatto, in grado di schierarsi ogni volta e con sempre maggiore impegno, contro il brutto della vita. I cuori dei Moon battono all’unisono, mentre l’anima di ognuno di loro, così come quella dei loro amici e compagni, si rigenera dopo ogni colpo, per tornare a risplendere e a credere nel bello, nel positivo e nell’amore! Esiste una fede incrollabile che guida le vite, un'entità superiore che Tess Thompson non manca mai di ricordare in tutti i suoi romanzi. Un ringraziamento anche a Isabella Nanni che con la sua traduzione attenta e rispettosa dello stile dell'autrice, ci permette di vivere tutte le emozioni sulla nostra pelle.
"Il modo languido e senza fretta con cui parlava e si muoveva mi faceva venire voglia di stendermi in un posticino al sole e stare semplicemente a guardarlo. O di raggomitolarmi intorno a lui per riscaldarmi."
Una saga familiare che mi piace e mi appassiona sempre di più, perchè ogni volta provo la sensazione di tornare a casa, pronta ad assistere alla quotidianità dei Moon fatta di lavoro duro, impegno e sacrifici. Adoro il fatto sia una sorta di racconto corale, anche se sono i protagonisti, con il loro punto di vista a dare la loro versione degli eventi che si susseguono nella storia. Le vite degli amici e dei dipendenti del ranch, si mischiano a quelle degli elementi della famiglia Moon, creando un senso di continuità, pertanto ciò che è rimasto in sospeso nel romanzo precedente, trova il modo di svilupparsi in quello successivo, nonostante siano tutti volumi autoconclusivi. L’autrice non lascia da parte nessuno, ma ci permette di ritrovare in ogni romanzo i personaggi che abbiamo già conosciuto e amato nei romanzi precedenti, con le loro peculiarità e caratteristiche, assolutamente ben delineate, messe a disposizione di volta in volta, per dare un diverso contributo e rendere ogni storia sempre più avvincente e coinvolgente. Adoro mamma Stella!
"Ero sopravvissuta alla mia infanzia. Sarei sopravvissuta anche al prossimo capitolo, anche se mi sentivo più come un personaggio secondario condannato nel romanzo della mia vita."
Una trama veramente ricca, piena di tutti gli elementi che in maniera diversa, sanno divertire, entusiasmare, far riflettere ed emozionare. Nel finale è impossibile riuscire a trattenere la commozione, perché l’autrice sa toccare con delicatezza argomenti e tasti che non lasciano indifferenti, veicolando un messaggio d’amore e di speranza che rende il cuore soffice. Non vedo l’ora di leggere le storie degli altri fratelli, soprattutto quella di Soren, così burbero, scontroso e chiuso, anche se nasconde un lato altrettanto dolce e affidabile. Sicuro di sé e in pace con se stesso, ammette tranquillamente di provare maggiore gratificazione, nella compagnia degli animali rispetto a quella delle persone, e questo è un altro buon motivo, per affiancargli una donna che è completamente il suo opposto! Ripongo grande fiducia in un certa inglesina! In ogni caso, le coppie sembrano già essersi ben delineate, pertanto non vedo l’ora di leggere anche la storia di Thad e Rafferty, per capire se ho indovinato! Un romanzo che consiglio a tutti coloro che amano la poesia dei paesaggi, la bellezza come espressione d'amore, il romanticismo e i buoni sentimenti. Buona lettura e alla prossima!

Sono pronta a condividere con voi le mie impressioni, ma ciò che non riuscirò mai a trasmettervi con le parole, è il soffuso e avvolgente romanticismo e sentimentalismo che trasuda da questo romanzo, così come la delicatezza e l’intensità della trama, raccontata attraverso lo stile narrativo dell’autrice, che riesce a infondere alle pagine il sapore dell’appartenenza e quel calore particolare e unico, che durante la lettura avvolge e riscalda, lo stesso al quale alla fine ci si abbandona, sicuri di essere compresi e capiti. Una storia bellissima e con un finale scoppiettante e ricco di suspense che ancora una volta, riesce a mettere a soqquadro i delicati equilibri e la vita serena della famiglia Moon, protagonista già in passato, di eventi altrettanto drammatici e sconvolgenti che una volta superati, hanno avuto il merito di renderli tra loro, ancora di più uniti e più forti. La verità è che di volta in volta, tutti insieme si chiudono a cerchio per proteggere a turno, l'elemento a rischio, formando un unico fronte compatto, in grado di schierarsi ogni volta e con sempre maggiore impegno, contro il brutto della vita. I cuori dei Moon battono all’unisono, mentre l’anima di ognuno di loro, così come quella dei loro amici e compagni, si rigenera dopo ogni colpo, per tornare a risplendere e a credere nel bello, nel positivo e nell’amore! Esiste una fede incrollabile che guida le vite, un'entità superiore che Tess Thompson non manca mai di ricordare in tutti i suoi romanzi. Un ringraziamento anche a Isabella Nanni che con la sua traduzione attenta e rispettosa dello stile dell'autrice, ci permette di vivere tutte le emozioni sulla nostra pelle.

Una saga familiare che mi piace e mi appassiona sempre di più, perchè ogni volta provo la sensazione di tornare a casa, pronta ad assistere alla quotidianità dei Moon fatta di lavoro duro, impegno e sacrifici. Adoro il fatto sia una sorta di racconto corale, anche se sono i protagonisti, con il loro punto di vista a dare la loro versione degli eventi che si susseguono nella storia. Le vite degli amici e dei dipendenti del ranch, si mischiano a quelle degli elementi della famiglia Moon, creando un senso di continuità, pertanto ciò che è rimasto in sospeso nel romanzo precedente, trova il modo di svilupparsi in quello successivo, nonostante siano tutti volumi autoconclusivi. L’autrice non lascia da parte nessuno, ma ci permette di ritrovare in ogni romanzo i personaggi che abbiamo già conosciuto e amato nei romanzi precedenti, con le loro peculiarità e caratteristiche, assolutamente ben delineate, messe a disposizione di volta in volta, per dare un diverso contributo e rendere ogni storia sempre più avvincente e coinvolgente. Adoro mamma Stella!
"Ero sopravvissuta alla mia infanzia. Sarei sopravvissuta anche al prossimo capitolo, anche se mi sentivo più come un personaggio secondario condannato nel romanzo della mia vita."
Una trama veramente ricca, piena di tutti gli elementi che in maniera diversa, sanno divertire, entusiasmare, far riflettere ed emozionare. Nel finale è impossibile riuscire a trattenere la commozione, perché l’autrice sa toccare con delicatezza argomenti e tasti che non lasciano indifferenti, veicolando un messaggio d’amore e di speranza che rende il cuore soffice. Non vedo l’ora di leggere le storie degli altri fratelli, soprattutto quella di Soren, così burbero, scontroso e chiuso, anche se nasconde un lato altrettanto dolce e affidabile. Sicuro di sé e in pace con se stesso, ammette tranquillamente di provare maggiore gratificazione, nella compagnia degli animali rispetto a quella delle persone, e questo è un altro buon motivo, per affiancargli una donna che è completamente il suo opposto! Ripongo grande fiducia in un certa inglesina! In ogni caso, le coppie sembrano già essersi ben delineate, pertanto non vedo l’ora di leggere anche la storia di Thad e Rafferty, per capire se ho indovinato! Un romanzo che consiglio a tutti coloro che amano la poesia dei paesaggi, la bellezza come espressione d'amore, il romanticismo e i buoni sentimenti. Buona lettura e alla prossima!

Tess Thompson knocks it out of the park again. The Moon family is relatable and awesome. The book has elements of romance and suspense. I couldn’t put it down. You can read it as a standalone but, I recommend the series.

Stella raised good boys that became good men. Atticus, Caspian, Rafferty, Soren and Thad: all different, all unique, but all hard-working, dependable and caring. When Jasper Moon came into their lives he provided the role model those poor boys needed and together he and Stella showed them a warm, wonderful family life and how beautiful the love between a good, strong man and a nurturing, tender woman could be. Life is pretty good now for them all at the Crescent Moon Ranch in Bluefern, Montana. Stella and Jasper have been married more than twenty years and those boys are now grown, each with a role at the ranch or in Bluefern that suits their skills and interests. Atticus has just been reunited with Annie, his soulmate and the love of his life. One brother happily tucked away. Let’s move on, then.
Caspian is up next. When they were young all the boys were bullied, mistreated or ignored by their father Rex. Stella did her best to protect and defend them, and then Jasper loved them unconditionally and they became the Moon family, but those hurts inflicted by Rex cut deep and some of his cruel barbs were hard to forget. Caspian may have had the worst of it. He struggled in school, was slow to grasp some things, and was convinced he was dumb because of it. A perception reinforced by his uncaring father. Worst of all, he loved to cook, and Rex never missed the opportunity to ridicule him for it. Turns out he was dyslexic, but Rex would have none of testing or medication and poor Caspian struggled and just did the best he could.
Twenty years later Caspian successfully runs the restaurant and is the talented chef at the Crescent Moon Ranch. But old wounds are still there and he’s convinced romance is not for him. Who could ever love him, who would want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere in Montana with him? He’s resigned to the occasional date that leads nowhere. Until – until – Elliot Young applies for the position of pastry chef. He wants to be irritated because she’s late for the interview but instead finds himself tongue-tied and nervous, feeling that there is something oh so right about being around this woman. Awww, Caspian, our fingers are going to stay crossed for you for the rest of this book.
Elliot hasn’t had an easy childhood either. Never knew her father, her mother suffered from depression and committed suicide when Elliot was eleven years old, and the aunt who lovingly raised her from that point on has recently died. To make matters worse, Elliot has a stalker. She’s gotten a restraining order but it’s all so stressful she leaves her job, gives up her apartment, closes down all social media and decides to move away where she (hopefully) can’t be found. Bluefern, Montana might just be it.
From the minute they meet Caspian and Elliot dance and tiptoe around each other. Caspian is the boss and afraid to step over any lines; he’s so careful about it that Elliot is almost convinced he doesn’t even like her. It’s funny and sweet to watch them just about give in to that magnetic pull and then jump back, and it’s heart-breaking to learn of their past pain and struggles and to see their current fears and uncertainty.
Harvest Moon is a delightful addition to this delightful series. Stella and Jasper are as marvelous together as always. Atticus and Annie together again are heartwarming. All the Moon men are handsome and charming (even Soren who hides it well) and fun to get to know better with each book. Author Tess Thompson does her usual excellent job of reuniting us with characters we know and love while giving us a close-up, in-depth look at the brother in the spotlight. Harvest Moon is well plotted and perfectly paced, switching viewpoints between Caspian and Elliot, and surprising us with a really unique twist that you probably won’t see coming but that fits into this extremely satisfying story.

Torniamo al Ranch di Stella e della sua dolce e amorevole famiglia per ritrovare i cinque fratelli Moon.
Avevamo gioito nel vedere finalmente Atticus e Annie ritrovarsi e dare seguito a quel sentimento puro che lo aveva visti avvicinarsi da bambini, prima che tutto cambiasse.
Sono passati vent’anni dal punto di discontinuità e oggi finalmente Atticus è Annie stanno per festeggiare il loro matrimonio… e come sempre non sono soli, ma attorniati dalla loro numerosa e inclusiva famiglia. Anche chi lavora al Ranch diventa “una di famiglia”, si abitua a essere parte di un nucleo amorevole capeggiato dalla sempre spumeggiante Stella e governato dal più mite Jasper. A movimentare le giornate ancora oggi, anche se bambini non lo sono più, sono i loro cinque figli, così diversi, ma accomunati dal forte senso di Famiglia e di appartenenza alla terra che lo ha visti nascere.
Caspian si è sempre sentito diverso dai fratelli, più fragile emotivamente, più discontinuo nel rendimento scolastico, interessato all’orto e alla cucina e non ai lavori pesanti con gli animali. Crescendo ha trovato il suo equilibrio, la sua strada e il suo mondo in cui essere certo di avere tutto sotto controllo e di poter dare il meglio di sé: la cucina del ristorante del Ranch. Caspian è uno chef che ama il suo lavoro e si sente salvato da questa passione, si sente al sicuro e capace di mostrarsi sicuro, celando anche le sue leggere insicurezze. Il suo punto debole sono però i dolci e per il bene del ristorante deve assumere un nuovo pasticcere. È così che Elliot arriva in Montana, attratta da questo posto di lavoro; è sola, e tutti i suoi avere sono racchiusi in una vecchia Honda. Ha lasciato Seattle senza rimpianti, sicura che un nuovo posto avrebbe potuto lenire in parte il dolore sempre più opponente che si porta nel cuore. Elliot ha un senso di vuoto perenne nel cuore, di solitudine, ma arrivare in un ambiente così accogliente le fa scattare un senso di appartenenza che non pensava avrebbe mai più provato.
L’attenzione tra i due è palpabile ed elettrica, è una miccia pronta a scattare e infiammarsi, se non fosse che Caspian non accetti la presenza di rapporti sentimentali tra colleghi, peggio ancora tra capo e dipendente.
Mentre Elliot e Caspian cercano di capire cosa preme per uscire e di governare questa forza magnetica che li spinge ad avvisarsi ogni giorno di più, Atticus e Annie festeggiano le loro nozze, ma la gioia è sempre difficile da conquistare e ancora di più da conservare.
Elliot e Caspian dovranno superare molto dolore e prove difficili, fare i conti con un passato doloroso che ancora aveva dei conti in sospeso col presente. I sentimenti nuovi sono sempre messi a dura prova dalle prove difficoltose che si presentano e solo se saranno sinceri e profondi potranno esser un aiuto e uno stimolo per superare ogni ostacolo e pericolo.

Recensione per il blog A book with tea
Nel primo volume 'Mama moon' Abbiamo conosciuto il Caspian bambino. Un ragazzino che ama la cucina e ama la sua famiglia. Costantemente redarguito dal padre per le sue passioni e per il suo comportamento Caspian diventa un bambino silenzioso. Grazie all'arrivo di Jasper Moon nelle loro vite anche il piccolo e solitario Caspian ritrova la luce. Un papà che supporta e aiuta un figlio nelle sue passioni sembra essere il miglior toccasana.
Nel secondo volume 'Swoony atticus' ritroviamo un Caspian cresciuto, Un uomo ora realizzato, amante della cucina e della sua famiglia ma sempre con una genuina curiosità negli occhi.
Ora Caspian è il protagonista e devo ammettere che non vedevo l'ora di vedere di nuovo la famiglia Moon questa volta dal suo punto di vista.
Elliot è in ritardo per il colloquio e Caspian odia i ritardatari.
Elliott si lascia Seattle alle spalle dopo aver perso la zia, unico membro rimasto della sua famiglia.
Il ristorante del Crescent Moon Ranch sta cercando una pasticcera e quindi trasferirsi in Montana sembra la soluzione migliore.
Elliot è bella, brava e sembra capire Caspian in modi in cui nessun altro riesce.
Caspian si sente libero di parlare e condividere con Elliot il lavoro e le sue passioni.
Purtroppo però le ferite inferte da Rex fanno credere a Caspian di non meritarsi un briciolo di amore e gli orari difficili da chef non aiutano il nostro protagonista.
Elliot non ha per niente avuto un'infanzia facile o felice ma grazie alla zia ha conosciuto l'amore e il sostegno.
Da quando i nostri due protagonisti iniziano a lavorare insieme l'attrazione cresce velocemente ma Caspian è il capo di Elliot e ha costantemente paura di superare il limite con lei.
Caspian è proprio il figlio di Stella quindi è davvero un gentiluomo, si occupa silenziosamente di Elliot, è un ottimo osservatore e ciò fa in modo che i nostri protagonisti riescano a conoscersi quasi profondamente.
Vederli combattere contro la forte attrazione, quasi lasciarsi andare per poi tornare lucidi e mettere della distanza tra loro è molto carino.
Scoprire le loro storie e tutto il loro dolore attraverso le loro parole è stato davvero straziante.
Trovo che la serie stia crescendo molto, volume dopo volume mi sta piacendo sempre di più.
Stella e Jasper sono stupendi come al solito, i genitori che tutti vorremmo. Atticus e Annie mi hanno riempito ancora il cuore, ma Caspian e Elliot hanno davvero alzato l'asticella.
Le storie dei restanti fratelli sembrano delinearsi e non vedo l'ora di leggere di loro perché si prospettano delle cose molto interessanti.
L'autrice, Tess Thompson, è riuscita anche questa volta a trasmettere moltissimo attraverso la storia di Caspian. La sua scrittura è molto scorrevole e piacevole.
Harvest Moon grazie al suo doppio pov mantiene un ottimo ritmo con gli avvenimenti della storia e il plot twist è stato davvero inaspettato. Credo però sia stato sviluppato in maniera egregia dando quel tocco unico a questa bellissima storia.

Si tratta del terzo volume autoconclusivo della nuova serie #crescentmoonranch
un libro per ogni fratello (il primo però è su
Stella, la mamma) in questo volume il protagonista è Caspian, chef del ristorante del ranch di famiglia in Montana (ho un debole per queste storie () prepara sempre con amore, passione e dedizione ottimi piatti per tutti. Ma se tra i primi, secondi e gli antipasti non ha problemi, si trova in difficoltà con i dolci ed è per questo che assume Elliot, una giovane pasticcera in fuga dal suo passato doloroso e in cerca di un nuovo inizio. Caspian si impone da subito la regola di non avvicinarsi a lei perché una sua dipendente, ma ci riuscirà veramente? Perché ogni volta le sta vicino, il suo cuore batte più forte.

E sarà grazie ai mesi trascorsi nel ranch, fianco a fianco con Caspian tra sguardi e sfiorarsi per caso, i nuovi amici come Arabella, Finley e Sammie che Elliot inizia finalmente a sentirsi a casa.
Mentre leggevo avevo costantemente gli occhi a cuoricino e il sorriso stampato in viso per le belle sensazioni che provavo. Riuscivo a percepire il legame profondo tra i cinque fratelli Moon, l'amore per il ranch, per i genitori e gli amici. Scene divertenti ma anche profonde e ricche di commozione durante il matrimonio di uno dei fratelli
La Thompson è talmente brava nel creare un legame tra protagonisti e lettore, che ero inondata d'amore e mi sentivo piena di calore nell'anima, queste sono storie che fanno stare bene, ti senti avvolto come in una calda coperta.
Un libro che si legge velocemente e con piacere, verso la fine c’è una parte drammatica e di tensione ma non ha reso pesante la lettura, anzi ha dato quel pizzico di adrenalina per stare col fiato sospeso. Un finale dolcissimo, adoro quando posso leggere storie commoventi e romantiche capaci di farmi sognare.
Sono presenti anche due capitoli bonus, uno dal punto di vista di Elliot ambientato nel passato e uno sempre ambientato nel passato,m ma dal punto di vista di Caspian. Quello di Caspian mi ha fatto versare qualche lacrima, mi ha parecchio commossa e mi ha fatto stringere il cuore per quel cucciolo che era Caspian da bambino, sono felice che dopo ha incontrato il suo nuovo papà 🥹❤️
Consiglio il libro a tutti gli amanti del romance, per chi ha un debole per gli small town ,per le saghe familiari, per i ranch, per i cowboy sexy e affascinanti e per il Montana.

Stella, la mamma) in questo volume il protagonista è Caspian, chef del ristorante del ranch di famiglia in Montana (ho un debole per queste storie () prepara sempre con amore, passione e dedizione ottimi piatti per tutti. Ma se tra i primi, secondi e gli antipasti non ha problemi, si trova in difficoltà con i dolci ed è per questo che assume Elliot, una giovane pasticcera in fuga dal suo passato doloroso e in cerca di un nuovo inizio. Caspian si impone da subito la regola di non avvicinarsi a lei perché una sua dipendente, ma ci riuscirà veramente? Perché ogni volta le sta vicino, il suo cuore batte più forte.

Terzo fratello del Moon Ranch e dunque leggiamo di Caspian, colui che gestisce il ristorante della proprietà.
Fin da subito il personaggio ci viene descritto a tutto tondo, dalla sua dislessia e la scelta di dedicarsi alla cucina, alla sua vita, dedicata al Ranch e alla famiglia: un uomo che percepiamo buono, che però è stato ferito nel profondo da quel padre morto tragicamente, e che quelle ferite ha lasciato sempre lì, preferendo dedicarsi alla cucina.
E proprio in cucina conosce Elliot Young, una promettente chef, che per motivi personali si trasferisce in Montana: immediatamente, più che un colpo di fulmine, li lega l’interesse e la passione per il cibo, ma anche il riconoscersi in quella strana solitudine di vita.
«Nessuno aveva mai detto niente di simile a quello che aveva detto lei. Era possibile che potesse capirmi? Che mi vedesse com’ero?»
Elliot è una donna che fin a piccola ha vissuto le perdite e il dolore, e nonostante la sua carriera sia avviata, si sente alla deriva: il Montana la accoglie e in quei mesi passati nella cucina del Moon Ranch ritrova se stessa.
«La storia in cui mi sentivo intrappolata non era quella giusta, Non ero destinata ad essere la vittima della mia vita.»
La storia ha anche una svolta drammatica, che riesce a dare alla trama quel tocco di vivacità necessario a fluidificare il tutto.
I personaggi corali sono sempre molto presenti, con degli spazi tutti loro e che risultano inseriti nei passaggi giusti.
E’ una bella storia, anche romantica, che rispecchia l’indovinata cover.

This was a wonderful addition to the series. Caspian has always felt like an outsider in his family, partly due to his biological father and his treatment of Caspian. He has always loved to cook and bake with his mom and is now running the restaurant at their dude ranch. He is in desperate need of a pastry chef and is irritated when his interviewee is late for her interview. When she finally arrives, he is enthralled right away but insists that he can't have her as more than an employee.
Elliot is never late, but when her GPS loses the signal, she gets lost. She is sure she has already blown her interview but is pleasantly surprised when he offers her the job. She is attracted to him but isn't sure about his reaction to her and she is trying to start fresh after a man was stalking her and her aunt (and only living relative) passed away.
This is a very slow burn relationship, but there are so many other things going on that the book flies by as you are reading it. Just when Caspian and Elliott decide to try to be together and reveal personal information, her stalker reappears in her life. Not only is she in fear of her life, but Caspian is in harm's way as well. The connection between her stalker and her is one I didn't see coming but made a lot of sense after I read it. I can't wait to read the other books in this series. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review

Love at first sight. That's what came to mind when I started this story. It was sweet and romantic. It was a fall hard and fast love story. Caspian runs the restaurant at the Cresent Moon Ranch. Surrounded by friends, family, and tourists day in and day out, he decides to hire some help. So in one day walks Elliot, a talented pastry chef, one running from a past. Late on her first day, she aggravated him, but soon, he is mesmerized by her. He soon finds himself trying to fight his attraction. He has a moral code and never dates the employees. But who knows what the future may hold.
I loved this story. It was sweet and totally a love at first "read" romance (hehe). Caspian and Elliot both have their issues, but the beauty of the ranch and what they find in each other is a source of great healing for both of them. The more I learn of the Moon family, the more I love this series. This book was a crazy wild ride. It had some great and beautiful parts, but it also held sadness and darkness. It was written wonderfully well, as always, which Mrs. Tess never fails at. I think this was a great addition to the little town of Bluefern and to this already amazing series.

I due ragazzi sono attratti l'un l'altro ma Caspian segue la regola di non lasciarsi coinvolgere dai dipendenti e Elliott non capisce cosa provi Caspian.
Fino al matrimonio del fratello maggiore di Caspian, Atticus, le cose procedono lisce, ma alla fine i due cedono. La loro storia ancora all'inizio viene messa in pericolo dal ritorno di un uomo dal passato di Elliott.
Nel terzo volume conosciamo meglio Caspian, il ragazzo che è sempre stato giudicato quello strano e veniva trattato malissimo dal padre, ma alla fine si è scoperto che soffre di ADHD e di dislessia.
Caspian fa fatica a lasciarsi andare ma con Elliott è sempre molto dolce.
Nella parte finale l'idea che è venuta all'autrice mi ha lasciato un po' perplessa e anche la risoluzione non mi ha convinta.
Il libro si legge velocemente, è molto scorrevole, e anche se non ci sono scene di sesso (giusto un paio di baci) funziona lo stesso. Un libro romance un po' vecchio stile.

Harvest Moon is the third book in the Crescent Moon Ranch series and it definitely won me over. The evolving relationship between Caspian and Elliott is believable as the characters both question whether they would be able to continue to work together at the jobs they love if they dared to get to know each other more intimately outside of their professional friendship. They are both talented and dedicated to performing at their very best. I appreciated how the story of their relationship grew slowly and steadily throughout the book. While I could not put this page turner down, I was disappointed in how the storyline jumped to conclude a very intense situation that occurred toward the end of the book. I feel that another chapter or two should have been added to elaborate the circumstances. I do not wish to give more details as it would give away the events in the story. Even though I was longing for more in that part of the book, there is no denying that this is a great read! I am eagerly awaiting the next book to be released in this series. Thank you to 4Kids5Cats Publishing for an early review copy at my request. All thoughts are my own and freely shared.

Absolutely incredibly amazing story! Looks like it’s my favourite one of this series so far. I would love if I could to just sit there and read it in one sitting unfortunately work life gets in the way and it was such a torture to read it during my breaks.
I love the Moon family to pieces and bits. It’s the family everyone needs to be part of. Caspian the second oldest of 5 sons with passion and extreme love for art of food and excellent chef of his own restaurant. Low self esteem and some disabilities that actually make him very special and he’s guarding his heart because of traumatic experiences from his past doesn’t help him believe in love let alone to let him find one. Obviously fate or universe has its own way when Elliot Young, the pastry chef comes in his life. Another passionate food lover with her own insecurities and secrets.
Wonderfully developed characters in every small detail.
Unexpected turns and twists keep you wanting to read faster and don’t want to finish it so not to say goodbye to them.
I’m so happy for the bonus chapters at the end of book for both main characters.

Harvest Moon in the third book in Tess Thompson’s newest series, and it’s my favorite so far.
This book is about Caslian, the chef of the Moon family. Chefs are a weakness of mine, and Caspian is no exception. Not only does the food he makes sound delicious, he is also a very strong person who battled through issues in his childhood to become the man he is. Caspian is my favorite of the brothers so far. He definitely has walls up, but he will do anything for his family and others that he loves.
What fits best with a main course than dessert? Enter pastry chef Elliott, a very cool name for a girl that I haven’t seen before. Elliott is on the run from a past she doesn’t even realize she has when she finds herself as Caspian’s newest employee, but unfortunately she can’t escape it forever. The big conflict in this book really rocketed my interest sky high. I love these types of situations in stories, and Tess Thompson added a lot of interesting details that made it especially intriguing.

Tra i due c'è subito affinità, ma lui non accetta le relazioni tra colleghi, soprattutto tra capo e dipendente.

I've been waiting to read Caspian's story since reading Mama Moon, which is book one in this great series. Caspian is different than the other four boys, and even as an accomplished chef, he struggles with feelings of inadequacy. Will he be able to step out and find the love and acceptance he is looking for? Elliot is a loner, and better off that way she tells herself. But the Moon family, and Caspian especially, are causing her to question her belief. And then a violent crime tears them apart, and each realizes what truly matters. Will it be too late?
This book continues to build the Moon family story and reveals more of each son's character. I highly recommend reading Mama Moon, to see them as children, and the events that shape the family, but the series can be read in any order. I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest opinion. I am already looking forward to reading the next book, and the entire series!

Little does Caspian know the effect Elliott will have on his life. She arrives late to an interview as a pastry chef. Determined to improve the quality of desserts at his restaurant, Ched Caspian is looking to hire someone to make delicious desserts. Elliott amazes him with her flourless chocolate cake with a secret ingredient. Both Caspian and Elliott resist the sparks that fly for different reasons. Caspian is looking for a pastry chef to help at the kitchen of the family ranch. Elliott is supposed to be there for an interview but she is late. He has already decided she won’t work out when she finally shows up. And so it begins. A wonderful story about the challenges these two people have faced and are now facing again. Can Elliott convince Caspian to take a chance on her? And will Caspian decide to give this woman a chance? Will part of the problem be that he finds himself attracted to her and he has a rule about co-workers not dating? The Moon family is a great group of hard-working people and Caspian wants the best for his restaurant to support the family business. Will Caspian decide to take a chance with Elliott? Just when things seem to be working out, a man shows up looking for Elliott. There is a lot of action and some suspense but will things work out? I loved this book and look forward to more from Tess.

Caspian and Elliot are also similar in their sense of low self-esteem, an indication of their childhood traumas, with the result that they are attracted to one another, while not considering themselves worthy of love…
Just as the reader settles into the comfort of an eventual progression of their relationship, the author picks up the pace to keep said reader on edge and turning pages as quickly as possible to discover the outcome.

With three brothers’ stories still to be told, it is hoped that there will be more Crescent Moon Ranch books on the ‘menu’?

February 28, 2024Where will her life take her? Elliot, a pretty well know pastry chef is having to move from the big city of Seattle to a very small town in Montana. She has a stalker, and a restraining order is not working. She applies for a job on a ranch and meets the head chef Caspian Moon. She's late for her interview and he is upset. He hates tardiness. But when they first meet, they know there is a bigger problem. They are both attracted to each other immediately. Problem two, Caspian has a strict rule of not dating employees. How will they survive working together and have the threat of a stalker hanging over her head. There's' more to this story that will keep you turning the pages. This book is a wonderful addition to the Cresent Moon series and leaves you wanting more. (good thing this is only book 3!)

Another great story in this Crescent Moon Series. Caspian is the quiet brother who loves to cook. His birth father always put him down for wanting to be a chef. He's successfully running the restaurant on the Moon's dude ranch. He's interviewing potential pastry chefs to provide desserts for the guests that come there. Elliott is looking for a new start in the rural setting as she recently lost her aunt, the only family member she had left. She also had problems with a stalker who made her feel very unsafe. While the two work at staying professional, they also get swept up in the plans for Atticus and Annie's upcoming wedding. Lots of love, challenges and trust in God abound for the five Moon brothers as the story progresses.

What a treat this read was, it was such a great read! I enjoyed reading this third book in the Crescent Moon Ranch series.
This is the story of Caspian and Elliot, lovely characters, the story unravels and the storytelling has plenty of suspense. The Moon family gets together and different events take place including a stressful situation. We get to see more of the Moon brothers which was really good. This book was difficult to put down and the events took us in different directions making it emotional. The book is about how important the family is when not so good things take place. The story was not predictable and the mix of good and bad made the storytelling even better. I'm really happy to have read this book and can definitely recommend it!

Another great book in this Crescent Moon Ranch series. This is Caspian’s story, the little boy who loved helping his mom cook and struggled in school with ADHD & dyslexia. Now an accomplished chef running the family’s restaurant, he has resigned himself to spending his life alone, thinking no one would want to spend their life with a man like him, even though he can’t stop thinking about Elliot, the beautiful pastry chef he hired to work for him. Elliot came to Montana looking for a fresh start, and she too thinks about her handsome boss. Can these two overcome their fears and insecurities to find happiness together? I think we all know the answer to that, but the story of how they get there is beautifully written by Tess Thompson!

This is such a great series, and I absolutely loved the story of Caspian and Elliott. Caspian was treated horribly by his bio father but luckily his mom married Jasper Moon who helped him to learn that it was ok to do what you love doing, Caspian loved to cook and became a chef. He needed a pastry chef for his restaurant and hired Elliot Young. I loved the chemistry between the two of them even though they tried to stay friends. There were some big surprises that kept me reading on and wondering what would happen. I loved all the family connections; this is such a beautiful story and a wonderful addition to this series. I highly recommend reading this book! I can’t wait to read the next book.

These books just get better and better. Caspian hadn't much hope of finding romance. He worked very hard in his superb restaurant on the ranch which Mama and Pop Moon had built up from when the brothers were younger after their father died in awful circumstances.
Elliot is a brilliant dessert 🍨 chef and has arrived in Montana with a traumatic past behind her and nobody to go back for.
There is a chemistry from the beginning between Caspian and Ellliot who are both cautious of being hurt and rejected. Things take a turn for the worse but I'm not giving any spoilers.
I love these characters and guess that the next one to find love could be Doctor Rafferty. I can't wait for that

I loved this story! I am so glad there are five boys and hopefully there are three more stories! This is Caspian’s story. He is different from the other boys because he struggled in school and was bullied. He also loved to cook and is now the chef at the ranch restaurant. Elliot applies for the position of pastry chef but she has a past with a stalker. She has a PFA and hopes she is safe on the ranch. As they work together, both become interested, but Caspian doesn’t date employees. Then, the unthinkable happens! You have to read this one! Super characters in a rural setting. Highly recommend! I received an advance copy of this book from the author, however, I voluntarily wrote an honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.

I really enjoyed this one. As always, Thompson draws you in with wonderful characters and fabulous settings. Her attention to details will have you seeing your breath in the cold air, smelling the food being cooked, and seeing the beautiful scenery in your mind. A contemporary love story set in Montana, we follow Chef Caspian Moon as he navigates his solitary life. That is, until he falls for his newly hired pastry chef, the lovely Ms. Elliott Young. Oh, it's not all hearts and flowers, there's some edge to our story, and it's a compelling read I couldn't put down. I devoured it, just like the flourless chocolate cake :)

Harvest Moon is book 3 in the Crescent Moon Ranch series and Tess Thompson has written another winner! Caspian is the head chef at the ranch, and Elliot is a pastry chef looking for a job far, far away from the stalker who has sent her on the run. This book has a little bit of everything! There's family, food, more family, and lots more food! Add to that, there is a stalker {gasp!} There are sparks in the kitchen between Eliott and Caspian, and there is also a garden wedding at the ranch to plan for Caspian's brother. What could go wrong there? This book was literally impossible for me to put down. I highly recommend Harvest Moon and all the other books in this fantastic series!
