Losing a woman like her is a mistake a man only makes once.
A year after the love of his life walked out on him, Cade Knightley finds himself at Rawhide Ranch, looking for a fresh start.
What he finds instead… is River.
Sweet, gorgeous, stubborn River, who once looked up at him with such adoration in her eyes as she knelt at his feet. Now all she looks at him with is anger, and betrayal.
Now, he has one final chance to win her back. All he has to do is put his own stubborn pride aside long enough to show her he’s finally prepared to be the Master she deserves.
But if he fails, he risks losing her, and his one shot at true happiness, forever.
I'm halfway ish (55%) and I'm calling it a dnf 😂😂 nothing wrong with it! I loved the beginning when he's so oblivious and self absorbed that he doesn't realize that they've had sex like....twice in 6 months while she's trying to keep it together being his total abject slave slut/housesubmissive? 😂😂 he's just so....OBLIVIOUS 😳😬😬
She says her safe word after another night of him totally disregarding her and ignoring her. She's had enough and leaves for a bdsm ranch where shes quiet and withdrawn because that's just her nature. But BEHOLD! What is this?!!!?! she's actually a freaky deaky kinky winky! Cuz of course it's always the quiet ones amirite?
Anyways, they've both been celibate for.about a year. His friend has another bdsm friend who tells him that he may habe seen River at this ranch. So His friend gets Cade to go there and hope he sees her too. He does. Then it kinda fizzled for me..he spanks her 20-30 times as punishment for slapping him when they argue and there's lots of awkward tentative moments since she wants him super duper bad but doesn't know how to move forward. Then there's lots of sex and I dnfed.
I'm not that into bdsm books (I don't care if I read all fifty shades books!) So this was just too much of that bdsm stuff for me! But if you like it, you might enjoy this book!
The end! (for me!) 😂😂😂✌

This is a second chance at romance story between Cade (former Master) and River, who has been hiding out at Rawhide ever since she left. These two were in a Total Power Exchange (TPE), but Cade had fallen down on the job of being River's Master. It's a big responsibility and unfortunately when River really needed him, Cade put his job first. I must admit, I didn't like Cade much. This may be a personal trigger for me, because a Master who would take on the responsibility and then ignore his sub is one of my major pet peeves. AND, he didn't really seem to learn from his earlier mistakes until the very end of the book. In fact, when he first shows up at Rawhide he has no clue what he even did to make River leave. I felt as if he needed some therapy to take a hard look at himself and gain some self awareness. I loved River and how she stood up for herself. She was no meek, mild sub who would allow herself to be walked all over. There was a HEA, although I wonder how long it will last. Great writing however, as the author pulled me right into the story.
Reclaiming river This is a story in the rawhide ranch submissive series- a spin off of their D D LG series. This focuses on the subs in and around the ranch or visiting I’m sure.
The things: -first off this is a B D $ M book. Take place in a k!nk community/ranch, and scenes are done in the dungeon. -second chance (dating/lived together and separated a year) -Master/ slave dynamic -total power exchange -H is intense business man who clearly loves our h and has no problem getting rough with her. -h js a lady in the streets and a sl*+ in the sheets. -h has nips pierced and 🐱 -perfectionist and super shy h -exhibitionism -degradation during smexy times -rawhide dungeon scene -we see master Derek and Erica but not really anyone else -service sub -H trying to make up for failing in their dynamic the first time -the spice was SPICYYYY -lots of booty things lol 😆 -it is said neither MC we’re with anyone else while separated. -HEA -no ow -no cheating
I did feel like this story lacked a bit at the end. I felt that we just needed more. Maybe because this couple was so intense and their story so … much. I just wanted more of the after of them. Overall really liked this one. Loving the new submissive series from rawhide.
Oh wow this is an amazing BDSM book, I just love it. There are several really hot 🥵 BDSM scenes that I really enjoyed and I am sure if you like BDSM that you all will agree with me. There is Butt Stuff too btw, I love butt stuff.
River is a submissive and she left Cade and went to stay at Rawhide Ranch and she is working there and she has therapy sessions with a therapist there. She was in a 24/7 Total Power Exchange Relationship with Cade.
However she left because she didn’t feel like Cade paid her enough attention instead he was always putting his job first. River has been at Rawhide Ranch for sometime now trying to get better ❤️🩹
Cade just focused on his job as usual even though he really missed having River with him. However Cade pays a visit to Rawhide Ranch for a short time and of course while he is there he meets River.
Cade does finally realize why River left him and he wants her back, after some discussion with several others he does realize that he has to change some things and after some missteps he does change how he behaves. River is very important to Cade, so he really needs to have her with him and he does make changes.
I really enjoyed the dynamics of the Relationship between River and Cade, the authors really did a wonderful job of making it clear in an enjoyable way. I am not very familiar with TPE relationships and I enjoyed how they explained the dynamics of such a relationship in a fun way.
Reclaiming River is the second installment in the Rawhide Ranch Submissive series penned by Rogue London. In it, she chronicles the second chance romantic journey of River and Cade. Their relationship is a master-slave dynamic. After being together for years, River feels their relationship has dramatically changed. Cade makes her feel unwanted, invisible and like a piece of furniture. She leaves him and seeks refuge at Rawhide Ranch. After six months, Cade and his friend, Andy, visit Rawhide Ranch. Will he run into Molly? If he does what will happen? Can the damage done to their relationship be mended? To find out, you must read this book.
I normally enjoy reading romances set in Rawhide Ranch. However, I found in reading this series that at times I am uncomfortable with the Master/slave dynamic. Ms. London does a great job with her character development. I appreciated her inclusion of familiar Rawhide Ranch characters like Derek. I thought it was interesting that she had two prongs to her character development plot. One being Cade and the other River. Her dialog, both conversational and internal monologues, are entertaining, as they reveal a concise picture of her characters’ identities.
Reclaiming River is the first book in the new Rawhide Ranch series that I've read. Unlike the usual series I have come to expect from the Rawhide Ranch, this one focuses on a BDSM relationship rather than an age-play dynamic. I was unsure at first how it would work mixing the two with characters I have already come to know and love, but I still really enjoyed it. Although it didn't feature all the Littles and their mischief, Derek added a level of stability to the story and made it both familiar and new.
River has been hiding out at the ranch since her relationship went downhill. He wasn't abusive or anything like that; he just wasn't giving her any time or attention, and their relationship and dynamic had fizzled out, and when he wouldn't listen, she ran away. River had a lot of anxieties, which I felt were really well portrayed within the book, and it clearly showed her overthinking and overanalyzing situations. In contrast, it showed how being submissive grounds her and keeps her calm and focused. In an ironic and explosive moment, her ex arrives at the ranch and sees her for the first time in a year, and he learns the reason she left and how he let her down. What follows is a wonderful story of them exploring their dynamic and trying to reestablish their connection with help from friends and other people at the Ranch. There are some wonderfully tender moments as well as some extremely spicy times, which I enjoyed reading.
If the rest of the series continues like this, then I look forward to reading it.
This is such an interesting bittersweet heartfelt story by two of my favorites authors with lots learning. Both of characters have a lot to offer/give but don’t always understand how to express their thoughts in the best way without it coming off the opposite way they want. Throughout their surprisingly reconnection at the Rawhide ranch River lets her feelings be known with the help of rawhide ranch family. One of the things I love is how they help uplift people no matter what is going on or where they came from! Blake is surprise to run into the woman that got away and will do anything to get her back but that’s a lot easier said than done. Will these two find away back to each other with a stronger relationship than ever before? Or will all the challenges and hurt be to much to risk a second chance at a happy every after for these two who seem a perfect match for one another? This emotion pulling book but as much to give love about it! So much strength, growth, determination steamy scenes ,and much more in this lovely read! This shows the other side/things of rawhide ranch has to offer besides ddlg but even with that said no matter who you are or what kink you are Master Derek will always somehow make you nervous reck lol at least he does to me and I always get butterflies too! If only this ranch was a real life place and the characters were real too I would love to meet him in real life! Really quick and easy read impossible to put down once you get started!
The Master/slave lifestyle is not my usual cup of tea, as the terminology and the implications of the kink stretch my comfort levels. However, this story goes beyond the norm by really doing a great job of educating the reader, and the characters themselves, on the true underlying basis of the relationship. It explains TPE, a new concept to me, and definitely helped in better understanding the dynamic. River left Cade because he failed (miserably) in his part of the contract, and fled to the Rawhide Ranch. A year later Cade’s friend Andy set up a scenario where Cade and River might once again cross paths. As fate would have it, they did and a second chance romance was kindled, but not without the help and guidance of Derek and some of the many gifted staff at the Ranch. All seems to go well and the romance and lifestyle they both desire rekindles in the most extreme and, for those who enjoy the kink, HOT manner. But in the final analysis has Cade really changed enough to completely win back River’s devotion and unquestioned servitude? That is the crux of the story, and not all second chance romances bloom. Be prepared to be surprised, disappointed and ultimately elated. Extremely well written, very severe and graphically presented scenes and, of course, a Rawhide Ranch HEA. 5 stars.
This is the first book I read by this author. I did love it and it kept my interest . the hot parts were hot and they got their HEA. So the reason I gave it a 4 star .. ( I would have given it a 3.5 ) Cade was brilliant at his job but not to good with his Sub River . they had a 24/7 M/S relationship and for the first year it was great . the last year not so much . She said her safe word and he left instead of talking to her . then he accidentally runs into her at Rawhide where she ran too. He is pissed that she left and has no idea why . She proceeds to tell him exactly how he had hurt her and neglected her over the last year before she left . He asks the Dom and owner of Rawhide to start and try to win her back. 3 main things made me dislike Cade in this book .. He treated River horrible for the last year they were togeather and he NEVER realised what he was doing and how he was treating her , then he talk crap a out her for a year to his friends and let them all believe that she was the problem that she was needy and clingy and didnt understand his job . and even after he found her he never corrected them And he did the exactly the same thing to her at Rawhide and when she stood up for herself he got mad Now he did come to his senses and he fixed things but jeez . They got their HEA
River is a service submissive/slave who had lived a 24/7 TPE (total power exchange) with her Master, Chad. Life happened, and Chad let some of his responsibilities to River and their relationship lapse when he was working to climb the corporate ladder. River became frustrated but didn't talk to Chad until so much resentment had built up that there wasn't an easy solution. Really, both of them were at fault. River disappeared to Rawhide Ranch to hide and lick her wounds. A year later, Chad comes to the Ranch and finds River there—the two work to find a way to have both of them happy and satisfied in a relationship. There is a HEA.
I enjoyed this new book set at Rawhide Ranch. I loved how the authors worked to let us know that it was both the submissive and the dom's responsibility to check in with one another and work out any issues together; there needed to be communication, which is the biggest issue in any relationship. I look forward to reading the story that was teased about the best friends, Andy and Carrie.
I read this book through KU but loved it so much that I purchased it.
I was very much impressed with Reclaiming River by Rogue London and Ann Jensen. This book is part of the Submissives of Rawhide Ranch and includes all the amazing wonderful parts of Rawhide Ranch while also being completely different. There is no talk of littles or Daddies but you are still immersed in the world of kink where communication and consent is paramount. I think this book intrigued me because of the look we get into the human side of bdsm. We see how mistakes happen and a lack of communication can drive a wedge between even well matched loving couples. I really appreciated that because too often we are shown just perfection instead of the reality of flawed humans. The book also shows the risk of assumptions and forgetting that submissives/slaves get a voice even in a Master/slave dynamic. Ultimately, this story is about forgiveness and growing both as an individual and a couple. It is a wonderful addition to the series.
"I need you to promise not to take away my voice ever again." What a powerful story! River is every woman who has ever been ignored. She felt invisible. A sub who is heard and has her needs met will serve with fierce loyalty. Cade was struggling to climb to the top of his career and failed to notice that the one thing in his life that meant the most to him couldn't wait anymore for his attention. River felt like she didn't have a voice but will she find the amazing strength that is hidden deep within her? This story flows well and the character development is phenomenal. I love how Ms London uses real life scenarios in her stories because it makes her characters feel real. She incorporates fears, illnesses and baggage that we face so that we can relate to them. Her plot always has depth and meaning. This book is a solid 5 star read.
This is the second book in this series, but can be read as a stand alone. It's a beautifully written, sometimes heartbreaking, example of why communication is so important.
River and Cade lived a 24/7 M/s dynamic that went horribly wrong and left River feeling broken. Even if M/s isn't your jam I think anyone who can relate to not being heard or feeling underappreciated can relate to her. Without giving away plot points, I'll just say that Cade had no true idea what he was doing. He thought he did, but he wasn't a great listener. He's arrogant and prideful, and I honestly didn't like him much throughout most of the book. I wanted River to kick him to the curb. However, the heart wants what the heart wants, and watching River grow and find herself made me so very happy. By the end of the story I could see some redeeming qualities in Cade, but the true star was River.
Reclaiming River is book 2 of this new Rawhide Ranch Series. While the other series focuses more on the age play dynamic, this series focuses more on BDSM. There's not the chaos and mischief that the Littles bring but we fo see some familiar characters which help to really remind you that you are still at Rawhide Ranch. Our FMC River has been at the ranch for awhile when her last relationship ended. They just didn't give each other what they needed. While exploring this kinkier lifestyle, who should come to the ranch but her ex, Cade. Cade and River get reacquainted and soon learn to give each other what they both need with a new dynamic. There is spice and some really sweet, tender moments in their story. I honestly can't wait for the next book!
I beyond love Rogue London and all the words she writes. When you add the magnificence of Ann Jensen and you get a power keg that is Reclaiming River. And to add to the wonderful book, it brings us back to the magical place called Rawhide Ranch. River always tries her best to be the perfect slave for her Master, but something is missing. Cade has put his focus on climbing the corporate ladder and does not realize how much his neglect has affected his relationship with River. The final shoe drops and River picks up her heart and disappears to a safe place to lick her wounds. A year after what Cade feels is the desertion of River he finds her at the last place he looks. But things have changed and he will do all he can to win River back. Will he be able to prove to River she will be his #1 priority, or will they go their separate ways? Grab Reclaiming River to find out.
I have never connected with a book character as much as I did with River. I want to be her friend and I’m so thankful to the authors for writing such a beautiful story. The authors paint a picture of a real couple with raw, real life issues and I love it.
The steam is off the charts! Cade is so hot I thought my kindle might combust. All his dirty talk hits you right in the feels… yeah those feels 😉
Cade and River are true #couplegoals maybe not for the lifestyle they live or the kink, that may not be for you and that’s 100% okay but for everything else they share. The love, sacrifice and devotion toward each other is something everyone will appreciate.
I highly recommend this steamy book to anyone who wants to be put in either of the feels.
This is a really well-written book that tugs on the heartstrings. Cade and River enter a 24/7 Master/slave relationship, but neither is the best communicator. After spending a year together, during which River never feels as if she comes first, she flees to Rawhide Ranch. This is not the Rawhide Ranch with mischievous Littles that we know and love, but the other side. Cade finds River, but is it too late? Will they learn to work together and communicate effectively? Rogue London and Ann Jensen know the genre inside and out, as well as how to tell the best stories. This is easily worth the one click.
I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
I reacted quite strongly to the emotions and needs of River, there are so many layers to be peeled that she became quite fascinating.
River is beyond shy, struggling to make her wishes and desires known, creating havoc within herself. I found her to be most interesting as she learns how to become more assertive, using a measure of the control that she previously ceded to her Dom.
Cade makes me want to shake him a bit, and tell him to wake up to what he has. Thank goodness he has his friend Andy to prod him into assessing his behaviours before it is too late.
I will always say that everyone needs an objective counselor...especially in this lifestyle.
By the time the memory was explained of their last interaction zi knew the issue was neglect. 24/7 dynamic is almost impossible to have due to life itself....expecting to be the center of attentions at all time is really taking without giving by adjust your need accordingly. I admit that Cade could have been more inclusive but I think he was overwhelmed and we (subs) never think that Doms/Masters need safewords or a break to catch a breathe.
Counseling helps to established a bridge to talks and solutions and should be implemented in the culture...especially between River & Cade.
The book hits the tropes hard, but hits them well.
Master Cade and River had a 24/7 hard-core M/s dynamic. And then Master Cade started ignoring River to the extent that she finally used her safeword and walked out. She recovered at Rawhide and started piecing herself back together.
The book is a classic second-chance arc, as Master Cade finds River and works (and sometimes does not work hard enough) to win her back.
Sex is hot -- very hot. D/s is very, very hot. The descriptions of negotiating needs within the very strong Total Power Exchange dynamic were very well done.
Blake and Rivers story was a look inside a Master and Slave 24/7 BDSM dynamic.
What happens when things go wrong, how our characters both have a steep learning curve to grow and develop.
I loved how River gained a voice and confidence and Blake became humbled.
They both sought help to get back were they truly wanted to belong. Once again The Rawhide Ranch came to the aid of another of it's residents and provided the care a support to them and her estranged partner.
I did not expect to enjoy this story as much as I did. The story draws the reader into the flawed and real relationship between River and Cade. The sweet submissive River is crushed when the dominant Cade loses sight of the important things in his life. This story is very well written and flawlessly flows between the two writing styles of both authors. There are plenty of hot sexy scenes. I received an advanced review copy and I am leaving an honest review. All the characters are real and well done. This is a very entertaining story.
Wow. Just.. wow. What a glorious description of the possible heights and pitfalls of M/s. This felt like a gutwrenching, honest look at the mistakes made from both sides of a relationship by two people who are honest enough to know that they are still in love. The question is, is love enough? When you are at Rawhide and surrounded by friends who will love and support you with all they have, it makes your chances much better than average.
I am loving this new Rawhide Ranch series. Don’t get me wrong I am always game for Caregivers and Littles, but I also love BDSM. River and Cane have a history and mistakes were made. I love a good comeback story and Cane eventually does a good job groveling. This definitely is more spicy than the normal RR story and I am not complaining. That dungeon scene was catch your Kindle on fire hot. I am looking forward to reading the other stories in this series.
An amazing short story with wonderful characters. Having a partner who can not fully commit to the needs that make you feel loved and happy is an awful and heart breaking feeling. I felt like I no longer mattered and could not see a way to overcome the emotional challenges that were present and it only made it worse because he had no idea what was wrong in our relationship. Unfortunately our relationship did not survive all the emptiness.
This book was not for me. I never grew to care about either mc. Neither one were very likable. The only thing I liked was the sex between the two mcs it was very hot and well written. One final thing, I know Master Derek owns the ranch but I would love to read a book in the series where he doesn't meddle or interfere in the relationship between the mcs.
I am leaving my honest review for a complimentary copy of this book via the author.
This is a very good, well written, D/s romance. It is part of the RR world but is different from the DD/lg usually associated with RR. River is very hurt by her master when work has taken priority over his relationship with his slave. After a year of this, she leaves for RR. Cade doesn’t know where she has gone but knows he wants her back. Read and learn how he finds her and the changes he will go through.
I can’t get over how I’m feeling right now after reading river and cades story. One minute I was angry because let’s face it Cade is a thick headed guy and the next I was sad because I totally see how river felt. The reclaiming was both sweet and spicy which I loved their dynamic was a beautiful thing to read. I thoroughly enjoyed their time at the rawhide ranch and I’m glad that they were able to reach their hea.
River and Cade are in a 24/7 master/slave relationship. All seems well to Cade the workaholic but River is feeling lost and alone. The last straw is when he breaks another promise and just brushes her off. River has enough and leaves, ending up at Rawhide Ranch. The story picks up a year later when Cade visits the ranch with a friend. Read how they work thru their issues, both having their eyes open and resolving life to be better. Enjoy
