For Lindsay Coleman, settling into mediocrity feels like a death sentence. His small-town life is threatening to smother him, dooming him to a mundane, predictable life. Acting out has only made him more enemies, and he feels the patience of his loved ones running thin.
So why wouldn't he take a risk?
A chance encounter with a minor deity that watches his town from the other side of the forest threatens to do exactly what Linsday has been waiting his whole life for; turn the entire thing upside down. But with excitement comes risk, and Lindsay doesn't have much time to realize that it isn't just his life that's being upended.
Probably because of the cover and title, I thought this would be more of a romance, but it's more philosophical than just that. The writing itself never really grabbed my attention, but I did think parts of it were interesting.
