Sooooooo, this is the first book I’ve read again since 2020. The last book I read was Rain in España when the pandemic started—just sharing. Anw, this is also the first Wattpad book I’ve read by inksteady.
"𝙋𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚...𝙨𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙝𝙞𝙣 𝙣𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙙’𝙮𝙖𝙣 𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙖 𝙥𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙜𝙞 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖 𝙨𝙖 ‘𝙮𝙤. 𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩, 𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙖 𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙖...𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙞 𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙖 𝙢𝙖𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙥. 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙨, 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙤 𝙨𝙖 𝙙𝙪𝙡𝙤, 𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙖𝙝𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙠 𝙨𝙖 𝙠𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙮 𝙢𝙤 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖 𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙠𝙖. - 𝙎𝙤𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙚 𝘾𝙡𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚" A fact.
I really like Sol’s character. She’s strong, independent, and knows her worth despite everything she went through. I love how she didn’t let her struggles define her and kept pushing forward. She’s the kind of female lead that you just can’t help but root for. Bagay sa kanya nickname niya na Sol because, like the sun, she remains strong and keeps shining despite everything she has been through.
As for Duke, I don’t hate him, but I don’t like him either. He’s a red flag. I get that he wanted to prioritize his niece, but he didn’t consider how much he was hurting Sol in the process. He had good intentions, but his decisions were questionable.
Kuya Sean, Duke, and Mitzie all have terrible decision-making skills. I was so frustrated with them at some points in the book.
Troy and Harvin were my favorites after Sol. They were actually good friends who supported her. I just wish they had more scenes!
Jelay and Atreus? That betrayal hit differently. Even though Sol didn’t have feelings for Atreus, they still betrayed her trust, especially Jelay. It wasn’t just about Atreus—it was about friendship. I feel like this part of the story wasn’t properly addressed. Sol deserved better friends.
Sa writing style, it was easy to read, which I liked. It flowed smoothly, and the emotions were delivered well. However, some of the twists felt too forced and predictable, as if they were added just for shock value. They weren’t even fully resolved or explained.
One of the things that still bothers me is Nanay Yella’s murder and suicide. I feel so bad for Sol, but I still don’t fully understand the reasoning behind it. It felt rushed, and I wish it had been explored more.
Also, if Mitzie didn’t get pregnant, Duke wouldn’t have been that stressed. His actions were heavily influenced by that situation, which made things even more frustrating.
Despite my frustrations with some characters and plot points, I still enjoyed reading this book. It made me feel a lot of emotions—kilig, anger, sadness, frustration—but that’s what makes a story engaging.
Will I read the second book in the series? YES POO!!
