A year after an old hero’s soul was implanted in her dying body, Nia Liston turns six years old—an age that signals the beginning of her student life at Altoire Academy. Little does she know that what awaits her is a fateful encounter with fellow magivision stars Hildetaura Altoire and Reliared Silver—a meeting that leads to the girls holding their own school martial arts tournament?! If Nia’s hectic life as both student and magivision star wasn’t enough, she begins to hear rumors of an underground arena that she simply can’t ignore, especially not while her spirit still yearns for battle. Nothing will keep this Merciless Maiden down—not gangsters, not infamous adventurers, and certainly not her own attendant!
Nia Liston continues her life as a grateful daughter, a budding TV star and an enthusiastic strong martial artist looking for a decent fight without shaming her parents. This time during her first few months at boarding school, finding allies for both her goal to spread the love for the new magiTV and her fighting, although the later is not helped by her need to keep things secret for her parents' sake.
Like volume 1 it is an entertaining read and an odd mix of martial artist cultivation, cute girls doing cute things with a dash of the villainess genre sprinkled in. We do learn that Nia's soul is from this world, which is a bit intriguing considering how few (if any) fighters there are that can challenge Nia. There is not much character or world development, just a light-hearted story with a level of silliness (without drifting into outright satire) that requires a bit of peculiar taste I think. I certainly enjoy it, but my tastes are probably a bit odd...
I like this series, Nia has a very fun personality and while everyone kinda has to deal with that, she also has to make an effort to act like the lady she is not While many complained on the 1st volume for being slow, i think it was to make the setting On this second part not having to present the world and why everything is the way it is, the story progresses more smoothly being the volume filled with more action and events move forward more quickly The LN might be on the shorter side, but i think its the regular length for this kind of read However i wonder if there is some change in the subplot, as the maid is described as with "motherly love" for Nia, when the jokes are that she gets a bit obsessive and maybe even wants to do "more", that is the only reason i gave 4/5 since it lingers on my mind if the story was properly translated or are we getting filtered from more japanese like jokes
