Highly recommended!!
Wow!! I really really loved this Nikolai book collection!!
Nikolai the mafia Prince and Justine the criminal lawyer who was assigned to handle Nikolai 's murder case. Nikolai had his eyes on Justine from day one and he made sure that no one will come in between them. Nikolai is willing to kill anyone who hurt or harm his Ahren.
This book is so well written,edge on the seat action. Almost movie like Mafia story.
The passion and lust of the two main characters is so intense,🔥🔥🔥and not for the faint of heart. This book is so amazing and I highly recommend!!!

Lost me at page 50
I DETEST when books use a second language and offer no translation even though Amazon has "translate" as an option in its app and none of the foreign words used are recognized by any of the translation apps available online. Couple my disgust at having a book riddled with words that have no meaning to me, with the flick of a switch, about-face change in emotional response during the initial scene and I was nearly instantly turned off.
The death knell in this plot for me was how after the female gets triggered and tries to fight back when trapped and manhandled by the male lead - her inner monologue alluding to something like a sexual assault from her past- milliseconds later she's suddenly unbearably turned on made me livid. When a person is that viscerally triggered to the degree they feel the need to struggle and fight back, their fear response doesn't just go away instantly, they don't suddenly just get over being triggered and get turned on the next second like their trauma response didn't slam through their body, mind, and emotions. For the author to make it seem like a trigger to past trauma can be that inconsequential, or fickle, is sickening and offensive.
Besides, that initial meeting was all over the place. To put it mildly, the female lead was not very impressive, and her vacillating responses immediately reminded me more of a coed on spring break at Ft Lauderdale in her mentality and inability to get herself under control, than a top-notch polyglot attorney. Consequently, the author lost me at page 50. I prefer my female leads to be less ditzy, slutty, libido driven fan-girl, and certainly less reactionary, in favor of more intelligent, self-respecting, self-controlled, at least levelheaded if not sagacious.

More To Be Desired
I really can't believe I finished this. I think the only reason I did was the main female character's development. She began as timid and wouldn't stand up for herself and then she became a strong queen, born to lead beside her king.
The reasons I almost didn't finish:
-the plot didn't get interesting until about 240 pages in (so not even the whole first book in this series was interesting to me).
-the author uses so many repetitive phrases. I think the majority of the book is a rendition of what has already been said, making most of the bulk of pages pointless.
-the book had a pattern: lots of sex, some slightly interesting stuff happens, lots more sex (to prove that the two main characters actually like each other), lots of internal character dialogue that *says* they feel a certain way instead of just acting on it (and more of those repetitive phrases, as mentioned earlier), more sex, and then finally some actual interesting couple of scenes (too bad it was only the last 50 or so pages).

Not just another Russian Bratva story
This is my second time reading the first 3 books. This time, I could read the fourth and final book, about Justine/Ahren and Nicolai, Russian Mafia/Bratva Prince. Ms. Shandi has written an enticing, scrumptious, voluptuous series, worthy of anyone, who's a fan of this genre. Brava!
What an awesome ride of a book {#4}, to finish out this mini series. SOOOOOOOO many twists and turns, heartfelt emotions, amazing strengths and endless, boundless love. TY Ms. Shandi. Namaste

This will be a review of all 4 books as a whole as that is how I read them.
Nikolai was raised in a Mafia family as the heir to the throne. However, his father didn't like him. Not really. When he gets into a spot of trouble in comes Justine. She is a lawyer who is working with the man assigned to the case. There is no lost love between Nikolai and Charmichael but Nikolai knew he wanted Justine as soon as he seen her. So, luck (or is it luck) is in his favor when paperwork somehow gets messed up and he ends up having to be at Justines place for his house arrest. Justine doesn't want anything to do with the life Nikolai leads but she can only resist temptation for so long. Turns out Justine has a past with the kind of life and she barely survived it.
The two of them definitely go on a hell of a roller coaster in their relationship but a king isn't a king without his queen.
I absolutely loved this series. There were a couple of times I had my doubts but Nikolai was absolutely everything. He would do literally anything for Justine and vice versa. He had absolute touch her and die vibes. And there was absolutely no shortage of spice. I have definitely taken a jump into the rabbit hole with dark and mafia romances and I am hooked.
I definitely recommend reading!

A Mafia Prince becomes a King
I have spent 3 days with Nikolai, and this is one of the best Mafia series I have read yet.
Nikolai is fierce, brooding, obsessive, possessive and powerful. Justine has the heart and strength of a warrior, but she does not know this yet.
When they meet their connection is instant, that invisible pull, that magnetic thrum that you feel in your bones. They are destined to forever be together.
This is not an easy story to be told. There is 4 books in this series, but once you start, you will find yourself consumed. I spent every moment that I could reading their story. Just when you think things can’t get any more difficult or dangerous for them, it does.
The situations they had to endure, the lengths that they went to, the strength that was required to survive was exceptional.
There were highs and massive lows, emotions, bloodshed and a seriously high body count, but that is to be expected in a excellent Mafia novel. The steamy, sexual tension between these two was just perfection. It was so hot and spicy, the need to totally consume each other was remarkable.
This series by Shandi was extraordinary. A 5⭐️5🌶️ read for me. Loved, loved, loved it.
If you love an intense mafia romance, this is the series for you.

Wonderful box set
Nikolai: The Complete Collection contains all of the books in this series - A Mafia Prince Romance, Taking Back What's Mine, What's Left of Me and Mine to Protect. These books follow the story of Justine Walsh and Nikolai Popov. Each book advances the overall story-line which is filled with drama, intrigue, suspense, heartbreak and a wild ride with lots of twists and turns. Additionally there is a lot of great chemistry between the very dangerous and sexy-as-sin Alpha Russian Bratva prince Nikolai and the beautiful, smart, feisty and devoted Justine. The characters, both Justine and Nikolai and the supporting, are interesting and sometimes fascinating in their actions with lots of things happening for very different reasons that you initially think. For the most part the story was well written but at times it got a bit slow and bogged down. Overall this was an enjoyable and engaging story which does end with an HEA.

Dark, dangerous, painful and so compelling to read!

Nikolai is the son of a russian mob boss. Pain has been a way of life for him, trust is something not easy to give, love is something he has never experienced. Then he met his angel, Justine. She was a member of his law team, a woman who would suffer the jaws of hell before she wouuld betray those she loved. Their's was a forbidden love that neither could deny and with it came trouble and pain unlike any she had experienced before. This series hooked me from the start, it was dark, dangerous and painful to read and yet the story line was so complelling I could not put it down and till the last page of the last book was read.I am so glad this was a box set, waiting to read each book as it was released would have been painful at the very least!

I'm a sucker for Russian Mafia and every Nikolai I've read is nastier than the last one. But this Nikolai played dirty from the onset to get what he wants. Justine never stood a chance of getting away as much as she tried denying the attraction to her client, Nikolai Popov. Her moral code wouldn't allow her to step outside the lines of profession, but when she is taken off his case, all bets are off. She sees the man behind the mask of a monster he was trained to be. Their chemistry and passion burns wholes through the pages as they become more addicted to each other. Nikolai is fierce and ruthless but when it comes to the safety of his Angel, he becomes the monster everyone perceives him to be. Bloody awesome story line and I freaking loved it!!
now I want to go in search of the other books!

Russian mafia❤️❤️❤️❤️
The series kept me on my toes. It was really good. Well, I do have to say that the first three books really captured everything that I needed out of Nikolai I did still end up enjoying the last 1. This is an enemy still lover's Russian mafia book. I do feel that you probably should read the books in order starting with Rico story, but I was still able to gather what I needed from Nikolai story even though I felt like I was missing some pieces such as who Rico wife was but even with those things missing, I was still able to understand what was going on with Nikolai. Where technically the bad guy is really the good guy it was phenomenally written, and I really enjoyed it.

wooden characters, too slow
I wanted these books to be better. I slogged through them because I really, really wanted it to be better. It wasn’t.
The author spends pages and pages “telling” - when it would be just as easy to just get on with it. Seriously - in the second book it took 4 pages between when Niki asked her a question & Justine finally said yes. The sex isn’t hot; there are pages and pages of it but there’s no nuance to it. Just shoving a HUGE stick into a too small hole. Meh.
And all that time - the story - but Niki never grew or changed or spoke differently? The same stereotypical version of a mobster through the whole thing? His angel doesn’t change him?
It was bad.

While I enjoyed this series, from beginning to end it felt like it wasn't written by the same person. The last book was so packed full of story, at the same time also left so many loose ends or holes. I know to expect violence, drugs, and many other crimes when reading Mafia/Gang series, and I am okay with that. I was less okay with sex trafficking being "okay" in a spicy romance novel. It was a turn-off for me. I understand when something like that is used for character development but this wasn't that. I do not feel like you have to love every book you read, it is okay to just like a book, and I just liked this book.

Justine’s life changed after a brutal experience. It changed everything from her career, her brother’s freedom and even her family’s wealth. Now in law she is doing everything she can to help her brother but not everything is black and white. When she meets Nikolai, she is unprepared. Trying to get him as a client she has no idea how close to her past his present runs. He is dangerous and was born to rule but he doesn’t realise how much she can help him!
When she is in danger will he protect her and what will be the outcome? Who can they trust and will they trust each other?
I enjoyed the characters. It was a little repetitive in places but the side characters were also interesting.

A blurb on my social media is what caught my attention to this series. And don't get me wrong it's good, but I'm struggling to finish book 4. I don't normally DNF books but I'm getting close with one. For only one reason. Between book 3 and 4 it feels like every 5 pages they are doing the dirty. I'm not a prude, I like a good spicy book. But when it feels like that is all I'm reading, I'm getting bored. Up until this point I was all in, I read the first three within two days and mostly enjoyed it. But now I want to find something else to read, so I probably will, and then go back and try to finish it later.

Wow this book was so freaking good!
Nikolai was the A-HOLE we all didn't like but knew there was something hiding behind his character from Rico's book. We just didn't know at the time it was Justine that he was waiting on to bring out his "good" side. Because let's face it, Nikolai will also be a bit more villain but a good kind of villain that sees both sides.
The storyline was so wonderfully written with strong characters and finally the demise of other characters. I loved how Justine grew back her confidence and realized her queenly status once she found her king.
Definitely recommend this series.

Nice to have all this set in one place. This is a boxset of all 4 books within the Russian Mob Chronicles. This story is about the Mafia Prince and the woman who brought him to his knees. Inside are: Nikolai: A Mafia Prince Romance; Nikolai: Taking Back What’s Mine; Nikolai: What’s Left of Me; and Nikolai: Mine to Protect. Each story is compelling, and fast paced with lots of suspense and action scenes. A definite read worth the reader’s time and money. Absolutely recommend.

Undoubtedly the most exciting series of books I've ever read. Russian Mafia, bloodthirsty bunch. Nikolai, protecting his woman as he thinks she should be protected, she shows him he is nothing without her. Justine protects the man she fell in love with in.5 seconds. These four books scan a very short time, but that time is so filled with love, lust (oh my, the lust) cunning, fear...every emotion known . Really makes one wonder. Enjoy the ride

He moves in with her and his crew comes to. The man who said he is his father is pissed. They eventually fall in love

Strength, obsession, and love. That's the only way to describe this series. If you read Rico's story first, then you start this one with a sour opinion of Nikolai. But when you learn the truth of what makes him who he is, you love him just as much as Justine does. Their connection is unexpected, but you feel it with every one of their interactions. This one had me on edge, waiting for what will happen next through the entire series. The Russian mafia lifestyle (not for the faint of heart), the violence, the lust, and the perseverance of the 2 MCs is felt throughout the entire series.

Becoming the Queen

meh but great ending
It’s strong a little back-and-forth and kind of whiny. I guess you could say but then it picked up and it was good then you go back to the back-and-forth and you just like come on like move on but then you get reference to how quick it’s happening, but I don’t feel like it matches that timeline overall it’s very well written story There are a few things here and there. I didn’t really care for, but the epilogue was amazing.

Funny thing is I started this series last night. I read it in less than 24 hours that's how good it is. All the trouble, tears, laughter, action and anguish were worth every minute. Nikolai and Justine are surprisingly resilient and resourceful. I honestly would read more of these books.

OBSESSED
When I first started this series I thought the writing wasn’t the at great and it would all be sex scenes. Yes there are plenty of steamy sex scenes but the plot is amazing and there are even a few lines that were well written literarily. I LOVED reading this series and look forward to the others.
