Detective Billie Ann Wilde is back! This is book 3 in the series, but it can be read as a standalone. I absolutely love this series! Billie Ann becomes more and more of a boss with each book. I was very excited to read this book because I knew the drama, twists, and action would not disappoint. We get to see more of Billie Ann's personal life, which I loved! I'm enjoying getting to know her outside of work. There is a lot of drama in her personal life, but she handles it with grace and continues to do her job through all the adversity.

In this book, we see Detective WIlde's family being attacked. Her nephew is murdered, and the search is on for the killer. This story develops at the speed of lightning! I was truly captivated by the plot, and I had to know what was going to happen. This book has a lot of raw emotions, and some parts pulled on my heartstrings as a mother. This book was a roller coaster of emotions! I think I went through every emotion possible while reading this. There was twist after twist and turn after turn. This series has solidified Willow Rose as one of my fave authors. I loved this book even more than the 1st two, and I hope there is more Billie Ann Wilde in my future!

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Bam! This book is full of action and suspense, but also with a lot or raw emotions.

The author had me falling from one surprise into an other and she kept on piling up the twists and revelatins.

It was like sitting on a roller coaster, but only going up and up. There was never a dull moment, nor a moment you could take a breath. The pace of the book swept me up and never let me go. I was gasping. I was flabbergasted. I was shocked. I was devastated. I felt love. I felt loss.

Like I said in my previous review, I thought it would be difficult to surpass the high level of entertainment with book two, but the author did it. And now she does it again.

She gained a place on my list of top authors with the first book in this series and there is no way she will lose that spot any time soon.

I loved every word in this book. 5 stars

Thank you

This is a great crime thriller.
When a young boy is found murdered in a maze Billie Ann is called to investigate. When she gets there she’s frozen to the spot as she realises it’s her nephew.
She’s not spoken to her brother for some time but assures him she’ll do all she can to find his son’s killer.
This is a bit tricky though as she’s not allowed to lead on the case due to the personal involvement.
Soon other members of Billie Ann’s family are in danger and she realises someone is trying to hurt her, through her family.
She’s also dealing with her ex and has a fight on her hands to keep her children and her home.
This is a gripping crime thriller that I really enjoyed.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

What it must feel like to be called to the scene where a child has been murdered. Then, to find out the child is someone she knows. Detective Billie Ann Wilde knows one thing for sure. She will figure out this nightmare and catch the person that did this..
The twists and turns in the story go on and on!
To sum it up, another great installment in the series. Though, I do have to say, I keep hoping I will warm up to Billie Ann’s character. She makes some really bad decisions in her family life and in her work life.
Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

In this book, we catch up with Billie Ann as she attempts to juggle her life. She's a detective, going through a rough time with her ex-husband, attempting to date her best friend, and trying to be there for her kids. Now, someone is hurting her family. Her young nephew has been murdered, and this is just the start. Billie needs to find out who wants to hurt her this badly before they go after her children.
This was a fairly fast-paced read, with lots of 'heart-in-throat' moments. Some of it was a difficult read as a mother, so be aware that this could be a difficult read. It also mentions rape a few times. However, it is not in a graphic way.
I really enjoyed this one, but I swear I wanted to knock some sense into Travis' wife. Aside from her stupidity, this was a great read and I can't wait for book 4.

I know this was fiction, but it was just too much. Not believable at all. Too much drama, too much violence. Billie Ann is not a likable character, narcissistic, self centered, and only caring about her own self. I am done with this series.

Disappointed in this book 3 of the series. Poorly written - I actually gagged at the sophomoric dialogue between Billie and Danni.
The whole story was a totally convoluted, ridiculous mess
Don’t know if I have the stomach for the 4th book….

Detective Billie Ann Wilde was a detective before coming to Cocoa Beach, FL. We learned briefly about this time in previous books; however, in the latest edition, IN HER GRAVE, her haunting past (one she has tried to put behind her) collides with the present, and someone is out for vengeance, putting everything Billie cares about in danger and jeopardy.

About Billie...

Billie is a breast cancer survivor. She was married to Joe for eighteen years, and they have three children. Charlene (17), William (15), and Zach (10) residing in Cocoa Beach, FL. She recently came out to the family as gay, asked for a divorce, and newly dating a long-time best friend and love of her life, (Danni) with twins, also getting a divorce. There has been much conflict between Joe and Billie regarding her dangerous line of work and time away from the kids and her cases putting them in harm's way. In this installment, Joe is fighting her for full custody, trying to prove she is an unfit mother. She is a fabulous detective, has a great heart, and a caring loving mother and loyal friend.

About the Book...

Billie's life is about to be upended again when a body is found dead is a member of her own family in this intense, dark, suspenseful, emotional, and riveting psychological crime thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat from the first page to the explosive ending cliffhanger, salivating for #4, coming Dec 2024, Find My Girl: An addictive and heart-racing mystery thriller packed with suspense. This will be a great Christmas present for her fans.

Charlie and Tommy - teens were going through the Haunted Jail Trail, full of skeletons, frightening monsters, ghosts, and zombies in the maze. As soon as he thought he had escaped the maze, a hand reached out and pulled him backward. Charlie was pulled back into the darkness in terror by a figure in a white mask with a knife. Charlie tried to scream. It was too late.

Tommy could not find Charlie in the maze as they got separated but knew he could not leave without him. Frantic, he went looking for him and found his lifeless body and had to get help.

Billie Ann was set for a date night when she received the call about a dead body at the haunted trail by the jail. A kid. A homicide. When she arrives on the scene she is shocked. It is her nephew!

Alternating from past to present (then and now), we learn how Betty, a diner waitress, met Officer Travis Walker, a cop. Her background and how she fell in love with the man whom the town respected. They soon married, and she wanted to have a baby but failed to do so. She looked up to this man, putting him on a pedestal, and refused to believe the evil things from rape and more he was involved in and continued to stand by him. He was her life, her rock, her partner in crime, and her soulmate. Then a boy comes into her world. Could this be her chance for motherhood?

Billie Ann is grief-stricken by the news of her nephew, her brother Peter's son. Of course, her boss removed her from the case since this was her oldest brother's son. But Billie will do whatever she can to help Peter, her brother.

There were hundreds of suspects and no eyewitnesses, no CCTV. Tickets were paid in cash. Billie thinks this was a killer with planning and experience. The worst kind and she was afraid this kind would kill again.

Billie will stop at nothing to find justice for her brother Peter. She has not seen him in years, and he looks nothing like the fun teen she grew up with. Then she gets a shocker, Peter has confessed to Charlie's murder.

She knows this cannot be correct and suspects he is covering for someone. Billie is determined to defend her brother as she knows he is not a killer. From sneaking into files and doing her own investigating work behind the scenes, in between her other cases, she finds a link between his other young son and the murder weapon. Is Peter taking the fall to protect him?

Then twins were attacked at a zoo. One died, and the other was in critical condition in the same fashion, so it could not be her brother. He was covering for someone.

A diversion. Then her worst nightmare —Billie gets a spine-chilling call from an unknown number that turns her blood cold. It is the cry of her own youngest son, Zach. The killer has taken him.

What does the killer want with her family? She must protect her son. Between getting kicked off the case, trying to find her nephew's killer to help her brother, locate her son, a killer, and her teen daughter likes a boy Tyler who is twenty-eight and way too old for her and could be dangerous, and her ex using Billie's job against her to get custody of the kids and possibly her house, so the stress is overwhelming. She definitely has to put dating and a relationship on the back burner, but Danni is very supportive.

Billie must use all her resources and strength to find the vicious evil predator and determine his motives, trying to stay one step ahead of him. As her haunted traumatic past meets the present, will Billie possess the strength and savvy to outsmart the killer and save her family and those she loves so dear?

My thoughts...

In her 100th novel, Rose raises her game as she does with every book. Intense, gripping, bold, multilayered, and highly emotional, IN HER GRAVE is compulsive reading, a first-rate crime thriller.

IN HER GRAVE is heart-pounding, taut, addictive, riveting suspense, and intense. Filled with dangers lurking with every page turn in a race against time to try and outsmart a sadistic killer and a woman blindly protecting him, even disbelieving her own sister.

Is someone out for revenge from her past, her cases or what is the connection? Billie Ann must pull out all the stops while working behind the scenes on her other cases and working with her team to protect her family from a monster.

The author skillfully keeps the suspense high with the alternating POVs from Betty (then-chilling) to Billie Anne (now) and someone named Andy for a few chapters. You do not know how the storylines will collide or connect, but you are in for the ride.

IN HER GRAVE is another unputdownable thrill ride whodunit, read in one sitting. Set aside the time as the author skillfully leads readers on a thrilling, spine-chilling journey into the past.

Rose pulls out all the stops in #3 for a nail-biting, emotional, gripping crime thriller that fans will devour. This is a top-notch detective crime series and a powerhouse author! I highly recommend this series and read them in order as you do not want to miss a thing. I cannot wait for #4!

On a personal note...

As a fellow Floridan, I was drawn to the first book in the Detective Billie Ann Wilde series, which was also the first book I read by Willow Rose. I would love to see a TV series developed based on this series! It would be killer.

I instantly enjoyed the author's captivating storytelling, plot twists, and the extraordinary detective series and well-developed relatable characters. A fan for life! Billie Ann Wilde is a fascinating character, and Rose writes compassionately, showing all sides of the detective, from her strong to her vulnerable side. A woman who loves life with many challenges. This one was difficult at the end for her and readers; however, here's hoping #4 will change things for Billie. I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment to see if our favorite detective finally gets a little happiness she deserves before her next case. Rooting for her and Danni and the kids. I am in for the long haul and hope this series continues. It is too good to end.

Inspiration...

I love that the author shares the fascinating inspiration behind her novels, which she includes in her Authors' Note with links to those news articles. (this was a good one). I enjoy going down the rabbit hole. This adds depth to her books and enhances the overall reading experience. Her characters are well developed as she balances work, personal life, and family. Always expect some jaw-dropping plot twists from the queen! I highly recommend this author and the series!

Recs...

For fans of the author and the following authors/series: Lisa Unger, Mary Kubica, Lisa Gardner's Det. DD Warren, Christina McDonald's Det Jess Lambert, Karin Slaughter's Will Trent, and Robin Mahle's Det Rebecca Ellis. Highly recommended to fans of the series and all readers who enjoy a fast-paced, dark suspense thriller, smartly written, an unstoppable heroine, great characterization, and a twisty plot.

Book Title: In Her Grave
Series: Detective Billie Ann Wilde Book #3
Author: Willow Rose
Publisher: Bookouture
Genre: Mystery/Thriller
Pub Date: June 26, 2024
My Rating: 4.7 Stars
Pages: 305

In the first book in this series [book Title: Don’t Let Her Go] we learn that Billie Ann Wilde is not new to being a detective in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
Background: Billie Ann is a breast cancer survivor, she and Joe have been married for
eighteen years, and they have three children. It has taken Billie Ann four years to tell Joe that
she is gay.
With tears in his eyes he tells her he loves her and wants the best for her. They decide they
will try to live their normal life until they can best deal with this situation.

However now that Billie Ann has been considering dating a gal she has known so some time, Joe has changed his thinking and is trying to get custody of their children Charlene- seventeen, William-fifteen, and Zack- ten claiming Billie Ann is an unfit mother.

Story starts when friends Tommy and Charlie go exploring in the spooky Haunted Jail Trail. Charlie was frightened but Tommy was having fun. The trail if full of the typical haunted house scary things- zombies, dead bodies, hooded figures jumping at you. However things turn all too real and one of the boys ends up murdered.
When Billie Ann enters the crime scene and sees the little boy’s body, real horror hits her as she knows it is her nephew, Charlie.
Billie is immediately told she can’t work on Charlie’s case; however nothing is going to stop her finding who did this. Her brother, Peter is questioned as it is his knife and his finger prints are on it. Under extensive questioning Peter confesses. Billie Ann is sure he is covering for someone.

Oh this is just the beginning!!! So much is going on in this story.
There is a side story of Travis and Betty I knew it was connected did know how.

Story left me a nervous wreck but I am also anxious for next in this series.

Willow Rose has written over 70 novels and although this was only my eighth- to me this was the BEST!

This is my third Willow Rose novel, and I eagerly anticipate each new release.

In “In Her Grave," Detective Billie Ann Wilde's story unfolds further as she grapples with the aftermath of coming out to her husband and filing for divorce. When a child is gruesomely killed in a seemingly safe place—the Halloween Corn Maze—with multiple witnesses, Detective Wilde is called to the scene. To her horror, she discovers that the victim is none other than her nephew, Charlie.

Due to the personal connection, Detective Wilde is removed from the case. However, when her brother Peter, Charlie's father, is arrested for the murder, she cannot sit idly by. Convinced of her brother's innocence, Detective Wilde continues to investigate despite being sidelined. As more attacks occur, she realizes that her family is being targeted, but the motive remains elusive.

The novel's narrative unfolds through various points of view, which may present a challenge for some readers. However, Willow Rose's skillful storytelling makes it necessary for the intricate storyline to unfold.

I found "In Her Grave" to be an enjoyable and brisk read. The short chapters kept me engaged and eager for more. The characters, with the exception of Joe, Billie Ann Wilde's ex-husband, were likable and well-developed. Billie Ann's unwavering determination in the face of adversity was particularly admirable. Additionally, delving into her past and relationship with her former partner added depth to the story.

The plot was emotional, suspenseful, and left me craving more. In comparison to the previous two books in the series, I found this one to be superior. However, the groundwork laid in the first two books is essential for understanding Detective Wilde's journey. Willow Rose skillfully sprinkled context clues throughout the narrative, subtly hinting at the identity of the killer. This allowed me to piece together the puzzle just before the revelation.

A massive thank you to Willow Rose, Bookouture, and NetGalley for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Netgalley, Willow Rose and Bookouture for the eArc of In her Grave.

This is the 3rd book and the Detective Ann Wilde book and I would recommend reading these books in order if possible. There is an underlaying story of Detective Bille Ann Wildes which comes together more in this book which is part of the twists and the tension . Things have never been easy for Billie and it's about to get worse as she starts investigating a case of murdered children. If that isn't harrowing enough. she finds that one of them is her nephew. Because of the conflict of interest and emotions involved, Billie has to take a back seat and let her team work the case. Soon it is a race against time to save her own family.

What can I say about these books?! This series are the first books Ive read from Willow Rose and they are just page turners from beginning to end. I love Willows writing style, the way she builds her characters and tension with the cases that Detective Ann Wilde investigates. Each book in the series, draws Billie out, makes her human, you bond with her character.. She's a great Detective, who has had to pave a way through a predominately male workforce, deal with her own family life and be a good Mum. Yes, she makes some questionable decisions sometimes, but that makes her more human in my eyes. I love the plot twists in these books, the build of tension, the release as the twist unfolds, to then build again. This happens until you get to the final pay off. And it's so worth it.

Im so looking forward to the 4 and final instalment of the Detective Billie Ann Wilde book due out later in the year

A solid 5 stars

TRIGGER WARNING: rape, drugs, child murder
Billie Ann Wilde is a detective but the latest case is personal as her family are targeted...
In Her Grave is the third book in the Detective Billie Ann Wilde series. I have not read the earlier books but intend to catch on them urgently as this one was fab!
A young boy has his throat slit. His father confesses. A drug addict is held captive and cruelly injured. Two teens are attacked. The connection? All are family members of Billie Ann Wilde and she fears her children may be the next targets in a campaign of revenge.
I was utterly gripped by this book from the first page to the last. Most of the book is written to show Billie Ann's first person perspective as the case unfolds, but there are also chapters to show the victims as well as episodes from the past which seem unconnected.
Billie Ann is a great lead character. She is trying to negotiate the breakdown of her marriage and it is linked to an event in the past. Her husband is awful but the danger their children are facing would bring out the worst in all of us. She is unable to investigate the case as she would like due to the family connection as I could understand her frustration.
The chapters are short so the plot speeds along. I thought the writing was vivid and the descriptions of the killings were chilling, even more so as many of them involved children.
In Her Grave was a brilliant detective thriller.

Detective Billie Ann Wilde #3

Rushing towards the tall trees in the distance, Detective Billie Ann Wilde can already hear the sobs of those gathered at the scene of the murder of a young child. And when she spots the little boy's pale skin and beautiful blonde ringlets, her heart catches in her chest. It's Billie's nephew, Charlie, whose life has been taken. Billie is immediately told she can't work on Charlie's case, but nothing will stop her from finding justice for her brother, Peter. Seeing Peter for the first time in years, he looks nothing like the happy-go-lucky teen she grew up with. She's shocked to the core when, with a trembling voice, he confesses to Charlie's murder. But Billie is determined to defend him, she knows he's not a killer.

This is an action-packed read that's filled with twists, shocks, and surprises. It starts with Tommy and Charlie exploring a spooky Haunted Jail Trail. But one of the boys is murdered. The victim is Billie's nephew, Charlie. What a roller-coaster read this book was. I could not put the book down. The story is told from multiple points of view. It's emotional and suspenseful.

Oh my goodness, this book is definitely not for the feint hearted.
Detective Billie Ann Wilder's life is already in turmoil, separated from her husband for reasons that didn't go down well with the rest of the family, little did she realize that her life was about to be launched into the stratosphere.
It is always emotional for Billie Ann's team when a child's life had been taken but when Billie Ann stared at the little blond boy, her heart almost stopped, she was staring at the body of her nephew.
Although Billie Ann was removed from the case she was determined that she was going to find the killer, although Billie Ann and her brother, Peter had grown apart, he was still her brother and she would be there for him until.........Peter admitted to murdering his son.
Billie Ann now had a fight on her hands, she knew that Peter wasn't a killer so why did he confess ? who was he protecting ?
As this story unfolds the body count escalates, the horrors continue, one after another, it soon becomes clear that someone has Billie Ann in their sights, this was personal but why ? and who ?
This psychological thriller twists and turns, I must admit that I was a wreck before the end, what more could go wrong for Billie Ann. Willow Rose has managed to shock me once more.
I received a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary.

This is the third book in the Detective Billie Ann Wilde series and the second of this series that I've read.
I hate reading out of order usually, but haven't had chance to catch up with book 2 yet.
Having loved the first book, I couldn't wait to see what this story held.

I think that it's definitely worth making sure you read these in order as the character development was what I felt I'd missed most and there was some reference to book 2.
There's an arc which seems to be running through the series and although once if got into this book, it worked well and I enjoyed it, I'm definitely going to go back and re-read it again after catching up with book 2.

Here we see an exciting and thrilling case which rocks Billie's world.
When she's called to the scene of a murder - this becomes a lot closer to home than she'd ever believed and is immediately taken off the case.
But given the situation, she's determined to uncover the truth before more lives are lost!

I don't want to walk about plot really as I find it hard to not give spoilers for this or the series as a whole.
But I was immediately drawn back into Billie's world and having already got to know a little about her as a person, I was there rooting for her to find the killer right from the start.

Again, the writing style was totally immersive from start to finish.
With a case such as this, it really tugs at the heartstrings - both for having children involved again and being family too.

I absolutely raced through this, desperate to find the answers and see how things would conclude and was on the edge of my seat towards the ending.

I absolutely love this series and am so angry that I've not read in order - I'll be ordering book 2 right now and catching up, so that I'll be ready for book 4's release soon.

Detective Billie Ann Wilde arrives at the scene of a murdered child only to discover that the boy is her nephew, son of a brother she hasn’t seen in years. Because the victim is a member of her family Billie Ann is immediately removed from the investigative team, but when her brother Peter confesses to the crime, she will get into the case files only to find out that the murder weapon can also be linked to Peter’s oldest, and estranged, son. Billie Ann Wilde is determined to discover who is behind the attacks on her family, and when her own young son is targeted, the killer taunts her with hints on Zach’s location, and placing the blame for the attacks on her family squarely upon her shoulders.
Wow, as usual this author offers up a well written, unique, and realistic cast of characters that draw you in and don’t let go until the end of the book. Terrifying and suspenseful murder mystery with so many surprising, and unexpected twists in the plot that I was left reeling. Secrets, infidelities, and lies, this thrilling installment in the Detective Billie Ann Wilde series has them all. I could not put this book down and highly recommend it to other readers.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Wow! The third book in this series keeps you on the edge of your seat and holding your breath at times. We begin with Detective, Billie Ann Wilde being called to a homicide of a child which is awful enough, but to find the deceased child is her nephew Charlie makes this case very personal. Of course, her chief had to take her off the investigation since she is too close to the case. But that wouldn't stop Billie! She hadn't seen her brother, Peter, in many years and since he becomes a suspect, with his fingerprints on the knife and it is his knife, she has no choice. She has to clear her brother. But what is he hiding? Why did he confess? She knows he wouldn't harm his son. All this while she is fighting a custody case for her children against her ex-husband. and then we have Travis and Betty, are they linked? And the one of the most frightening things of all when Billie gets a strange call telling her the killer has her son, Zach! Why is the killer after her and her family? With so many threads and so many plot twists and red herrings, we are taken to an amazing end and now I can't wait for book 4! I highly recommend this book and the whole series! I received an ARC but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

In Her Grave - a review by Rosemary Kenny.

A heart-in-your-mouth, pulse-pounding, non-stop-thrilling, psychological detective drama from The Queen Of Scream, Willow Rose, In Her Grave is a relatively tame title for this superb, shock-a-minute, police-procedural.
You'll be perched precariously on the edge of your seat, chewing your fingernails down to the knuckles all night, as you catch the breath you didn't even know you were holding, while hot on the heels of targeted Homicide Detective Billie Ann Wilde, as she and her team hunt the worst kind of killer - one of her own family.

A uniquely terrifying tale, with a terrific, realistic ending that you won't have seen coming, get your copy of the sensational In Her Grave right now, and be sure to shut the curtains, turn off the phone and put a 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the front door, while Billie Ann's action-packed perils grip you firmly by the imagination throughout... absolutely riveting stuff!

Another great story with Detective Billie Ann Wilde!

When a string a horrible crimes is committed,, it doesn’t take long to realize the victims are all connected to Detective Wilde. Who is targeting her family and is she next? Detective Wilde knows she’s racing against the clock to save the next victim and solve the case, while also dealing with her ex husband and the custody battle for their three children.

This is a fast paced, action packed thriller. There is some dark subject matter (crimes against children). Chapters are told from different view points, in the past and present. There are multiple characters and a few storylines, though it is easy to follow and everything ties in by the ending. The author does a great job of telling Billie Ann’s emotions, whether dealing with her career, children, or current relationship. Great quick read as a stand-alone or after reading book 2 of the detective series.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 In In Her Grave by new to me author, Willow Rose, the third installment of the Detective Billie Ann Wilde series, Billie Ann is faced with a heartbreaking case – the murder of a child, who turns out to be her nephew. When her estranged brother confesses to the crime, she refuses to believe him and works tirelessly unofficially to prove his innocence.

The story is gripping and kept me engaged from start to finish. There seems to be more challenges ahead for Billie Ann, especially in her personal life, which takes a sad turn at end.

Although I hadn't read any of Willow Rose's books before, I discovered that I have the first book, Don’t Let Her Go, waiting for me on my Kindle. I plan to get book two, Then She’s Gone, and dive into both, even though In Her Grave can be enjoyed on its own. I didn't feel like I missed out on anything by not reading the previous books.

Don't miss out on this captivating read – grab your copy now!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.

When a young boy is killed in a Halloween maze, detective Billie Ann Wilde is called in to investigate. She’s horrified to find that it is her nephew, the son of her estranged brother. When other family members are hurt and her own children targeted, Billie Ann tries to figure out who could have it in for her.

What I love most about this book and the whole series, is that the author is constantly building a bigger picture. Links to the past are slowly revealed.

The story is told in present day via Billie Ann. We also hear about past events from Betty. Once happy in her marriage to Travis, but also having her doubts.

With alternative chapters, the tale is slowly built up. With some shocking reveals this was a really strong storyline. Best of all the cliffhanger ending promises (I hope) more to come in the series!

In Her Grave started out with a mystery, a heartbreaking death, and the deaths keep coming. I liked Billie Ann Wilde better than I did in her other two books. Took me a while to figure out what was going on. If Billie Ann were a real person, I would feel for her, because of the family she grew up with. Being as how she is a main character in the book, I guess , I really don't like her. There is a ton of the book dealing with her 'coming out of the closet', her bad relationship with her ex, and not really much about her co-workers, even when they are hurt backing her up. Unlike, Willow Roses other books I still can not feel close to Billie Ann's character, I think it is because we are not looking at her feelings, just what is but without
her input. That said, it's still a good read, just not as good as usual. I read an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

"A killer lurking in the shadows. A detective who will do whatever it takes to protect her family…"
In Her Grave was an amazing addition to this series. In this one Detective Billie Ann Wilde is called in to investigate after a young boy is killed in a Halloween Maze but she finds out that it was her nephew and as other family members are hurt and Billie's children targeted she has to figure it out who has it in for her. This was a well written book with great characters and one that will have you on the edge of your seat till the end. The book has action, twist that you don't see coming and emotions are high in this page turning book. I highly enjoyed reading this one and recommend the book to anyone who loves a good mystery or thriller. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for this wonderful read in exchange of my honest review of In Her Grave.

Another scary book in the series. This time Billie Ann's family is being targeted by a deadly killer. The story is told with a "then and now" format with two stories that merge. This is classic Willow Rose story telling and the reader tries to anticipate how the two storylines are related.

But as it becomes clear that someone wants to hurt Billie Ann by targeting her family members, the search for the killer becomes even more urgent.

There is another storyline woven throughout this series - Billie Ann's personal awakening to her sexual orientation. It only adds to the stress in her life.

Willow Rose's lead characters lead busy lives, with their family, personal, and work issues piled on top of their job stresses. They have admirable qualities, almost super human at times, while also being very much like the rest of us.

There is never a dull moment in the world of Detective Billie Ann Wilde and I love being along for the ride.

At the end of book two in this brilliant series, there was a huge hook that had me chomping at the bit to get stuck into this instalment and it did not disappoint as the author took us back into Billie Ann's earlier career - I love the clever way that Willow Rose weaves the past into the present in her books, with explosive consequences.

When the body of a young boy is discovered, Billie Ann recognises him as her nephew and is immediately taken of the case. But when her brother confesses to killing his own son, the detectives are certain he is covering for someone else and only Billie Ann will be able to convince him to tell the truth.

Bille Ann's personal life continues to be turbulent, with her ex-husband questioning her suitability as a parent and my heart really went out to her.

This story is fast paced, twisty and full of raw emotion. Highly recommended!

5 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Willow Rose and Bookouture, for an ARC in return for an honest review

WELL… That was a whirlwind of a read. This is the 3rd instalment in the Detective Billie Ann Wilde series. Ive read book 1 but not book 2 but that didn’t take away from this one at all. Past history is referenced but explained so you don’t feel like you’re missing something. This one has a really well developed storyline and characters. I love Billie Ann as a character. Shes such a force to be reckoned with. But I so wanted to knock some sense into Travis’ wife Betty. The storyline moves at a fast pace and keeps you on your toes with lots of twists along the way. There was never a dull moment and the pace never let up. Another great read from Willow Rose.

Advanced Reader Review:
Fantastic. Willow’s best book to date. FBI agent Billie Ann Wilde pursues a serial killer, while trying to protect her family. Little does she know, at first, that she and her family are the killer’s main target. The plot twists and turns come fast and furious. She is a master at mixing the characters between the past & present, to lead you to a conclusion you won’t see coming. A real page turner you will not want to put down.
