When skeletal remains are uncovered in the Yukon forest, forensic botanist Keeley Ash is called to the crime scene — and ends up abducted. She never expects her ex, paramedic Brett Ryerson, to come to her rescue, or her gathered evidence to be linked to a cold case. And when their son — who Brett never knew existed — is kidnapped, they’ll stop at nothing to save him and outrun the hunters determined to silence Keeley.

Yukon Wilderness Evidence is another exciting book by Darlene L Turner. Forensic Botanist Keely Ash has been called in for her expertise when 2 skeletons ate unearthed. But someone doesn't want them identified. When she gets abducted, who would rescue her but her ex, Brett Ryerson, now a paramedic. With more danger that keeps coming and her son being kidnapped, the twists and turns in this story will keep you turning pages. And the ending was a total surprise.
As usual, Darlene's books never fail to keep me engrossed.
Suspense through out every chapter! It’s everything you want in a suspense and romance novel. It had the twist and turns, intense moments, heartfelt moments, scary moments, surprises, forgiveness, and wonderful characters I fell in love with! It deserves all five stars and more!
Yukon Wilderness Evidence by Darlene L. Turner ! This was another 5 star story from beginning to end when you pick it up you don't want to put it down until the end! This is another great suspense from start to finish with such amazing characters! You won't be disappointed with this book at all! This is Keeley and Brett's story ! Can Brett keep Keeley and her son safe until they find out who all is involved ! I was given a compilatory copy and this is my own honest opinion! I highly recommend this great book!
Darlene Turner is becoming one of my favorite authors. Her books are interesting and has a good story line. The suspense is there but it’s not all action.
In Yukon Wilderness Evidence, book 5 of Crisis Rescue Team series, Dr. Keely Ash is a botany specialist often used by the local forensic department.
Paramedic Brett Ryerson, responds to the scene Keely is investigating, he just happens to know her from 6 years ago.
What follows is a story that will have you guessing until the end as to who the person behind the crime is.
“I received this book from the publisher and was not required to leave a review. The opinion is my own.”
We are back with the next installment of author Darlene Turner’s Crisis Rescue Team series in Yukon Wilderness Evidence. The author doesn’t hold back with a hair-tingling start, and the action continues to build from there. Single mom Dr. Keeley Ash is a botanist, college professor, and botanical forensic scientist. She’s gathering evidence at remains found in a forest when she’s abducted! Police officer-turned-paramedic Brett Ryerson is able to help police (an old friend from a previous story) rescue Keeley. Brett and Keeley have history…more than Brett even knows. Now she and her family have targets on their backs, and whoever is after them won’t stop until they get a bullseye. The sparks from six years earlier are still simmering between them, but will the Lord clear their emotional roadblocks and let the sparks turn into a forever-burning flame? You will want to find out in Yukon Wilderness Evidence! Plus it has my favorite…an epilogue! I received a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is my own.
I received this book as an ARC with no expectation of a positive review. Ms. Turner had me on the edge of my seat as I read Keeley, Brett and M.J.'s story. Keeley is a botanist called to the Elimac Forest to identify remains had been found. Keeley had helped to solve another cold Case by determining pollen and spores on the boots of the suspects. Keeley had no idea that her world would be turned upside down when they are attacked.
Every page of this book will keep you guessing until the end. This is a must read.
Yukon Wilderness Evidence is non-stop action from beginning to end. I couldn't put it down. The suspense kept me engaged and at times guessing what would happen next. When I thought I knew, a twist occurred, leaving me without a clue.
Keeley was strong, career-driven, and a protective mother. Her son, MJ was adorable. Keeley and Brett are carrying baggage from their past, trying to find their way back to God. I loved the spiritual content of the story, the well-developed characters with lots of layers, and the setting of Carimoose Bay & Yukon Elemac Forest is amazingly well described. I felt like I was there. The ending was surprising and wrapped everything up nicely.
It's another amazing read. Highly recommended. I received an ARC from the publisher and willingly chose to review it. All opinions are my own.
Yukon Wilderness Evidence is book five to Crisis Rescue Team Series that is written by Darlene L Turner. This book starts off with heart pounding action and doesn’t stop thought the book. Keely Ash has been called to a scene where remains have been discovered. She is a botanist and has been consulting on cases
She’s very surprised to see her old flame, Brett at the scene. Then she is kidnapped. Brett has made a lot of mistakes and has some trust issues but when he sees Keely again he melts into a puddle. He’s very surprised to find out the at she’s had a child. His Child. When he realizes that Keely is in danger he wants to make sure that he keeps her safe.
Keely can’t figure out who doesn’t want her poking around with the flowers and plants. She realizes she has become a target. Her mother, a judge, has a sharp tongue and disagrees of her work. Keely and Brett need to work through some things in order to stay alive.
The author has done a wonderful job in creating a backdrop where there’s so much action and suspense. I felt that I learned a lot about botany and what different plants and flowers can tell us. The characters are well developed, the book is well written, and definitely has a great amount of twist and turns. Thank you to the author, publisher, and JustRead publicity tours for allowing me to read a copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
This story is fantastic it's full of action. It will pull at your heart strings. It's got everything a story could ask for. There's secrets in every corner.
The Skeletal remains that are found they're secrets there. Everything has a meaning. More secrets than you could imagine in this story. I found the story to be absolutely fascinating.
M. J the little boy is such a sweetie, everything he does everything he goes through. he's just a sweet child. He's one of my favorite parts in the whole story.
Learning to forgive things from the past.
A story with a little bit of second chance, romance. A lot of action, And lots of bad guys Perfect read. A fast read.
Wow!! I absolutely love this awesome story!! Yukon Wilderness Evidence grabs your attention from the very beginning to the end of this book. It's intense, exciting, action packed, heart stopping suspense!! Plenty of twists and turns making you wandar what will happen next. A roller coaster of a ride!! I loved the wonderful characters. Forensic botanist, Keeley Ash is attacked while gathering cold case evidence. Her ex, paramedic Brett Ryerson comes to her rescue. Someone is determined to keep their secrets hidden. Keeley's son, MJ is precious. He knows God will protect him. A must read for sure!!
Darlene L. Turner is a marvel at writing suspense novels and her newest one was no exception. Yukon Wilderness Evidence is chalked full of action and danger with a good measure of romance. But I love most of all the faith-walk that both Brett and Keeley are going through to find that God was there all the time. I loved this book!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. The opinions expressed are completely my own.

The story grabbed me from the beginning. The suspense is intense, the plot has plenty of twists, and the main bad guy was well disguised. The Biblical themes woven throughout brought depth to the story. There is joy, sadness, betrayal, despair, hope, surrender, and victory within the pages.
It was a clear presentation of how God uses the wilderness of our lives and hardships we face to mold us into the vessels He can use.
The romance of the story was gentle; yes, Brett and Keeley had a shared past, but they needed to learn to trust each other and Brett had to give his life back to God before things could move forward.
I enjoyed the story. I received a complimentary copy and these are my voluntary and honest opinions. I was not required to leave a positive review.
Yukon Wilderness Evidence is another page-turning romantic suspense by Darlene Turner. This Love Inspired Suspense book is a second chance romance and is the fifth in the author’s Crisis Rescue Team series. Each of the books is a standalone, linked only by side characters, so don’t worry if you haven’t read the others…though the others are exciting too!
I watch a lot of crime shows and police procedurals. One of my favorites is Bones, and there are a lot of forensic scientists on that show. However, I don’t think they ever had a forensic botanist! In Yukon Wilderness Evidence, Keely Ash is a forensic botanist, and she’s working on a case where the age and types of vegetation will help determine how long bones found in the wilderness have been there. But things go horribly wrong when the team is attacked while in the field. Enter Brett Ryerson, paramedic, someone Keely never expected to see again.
The characters in Yukon Wilderness Evidence are very well-written. I love Keely’s strength and her kindness. That kind heartedness is no thanks to her standoffish, emotionally shuttered mom. It’s hard to feel anything but anger at Keely’s mom’s actions and attitude, which just shows you how good the author is at creating realistic characters. Brett has trouble trusting anyone because he’s been lied to and hurt. He’s fallen away from his Christian faith because of something that happened during his teen years. I loved Brett’s dad. Even though he’s very ill, he doesn’t give up on Brett and encourages him to read Exodus.
The theme of wandering through the wilderness is evident in Yukon Wilderness Evidence. Not only do the characters wander through a literal wilderness, but also they wander through the wilderness of faith, trust, and forgiveness. As Christians, we need to remember that God is with us in all of our wilderness wanderings. The book of Exodus exhibits God’s love for his children. The Israelites had to wander for a whole lot longer than that trip should have taken, but they wandered away from God so many times that they had to keep wandering in order to become the people God made them to be. Brett’s dad shows his wisdom by telling Brett to read Exodus, and we’d be wise to follow his advice too.
I highly recommend Yukon Wilderness Evidence for its edge-of-your-seat suspense, realistic characters, Biblical themes, and second chance romance!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
Darlene L. Turner’s books just get better and better. Turner is now not only writing great romantic suspense, but has found a way to outmatch the best armchair detectives ( and no, I don’t claim to be the best, but I sure try) with her twists at the end.
There is a new excitement when I read her books now, and Yukon Wilderness Evidence does not disappoint. We learn about forensic biology, and how people like Dr. Keeley Ash use it to help solve cold cases. So interesting!
Unfortunately, not only is Keeley working a cold case, but it becomes active as those working with Keeley lose their lives trying to deliver evidence. Enter another “cold case,” paramedic Brett Ryerson, whom Keeley dated more than 5 years ago and hasn’t seen since. This relationship left Keeley with a son, MJ, and a heart of steel.
Keeley and Brett share a renewed attraction, but both fight it. Keeley doesn’t want another broken heart, already has huge issues with her nearly-famous judge-mother, and the two are not in the same plane spiritually. When asked how she can endure her world crumbling so quickly and completely around her, Keeley responds, “ I have to trust that God is in the middle of this storm. He’s the only thing that’s keeping me from falling apart. If I don’t have my faith, I don’t have anything.”
You’ll have to read the book to discover all the answers to the different threads woven into this beautiful tapestry. Like why Keeley’s mom is so downright mean and demeaning to her. ( Even Keeley doesn’t know.) Why is Brett’s dad holding on to life against the odds of his cancer? ( I love the answer!) Most of all, who is the mastermind behind the dangerous Diglo brothers gang? I had my mental whiteboard out. I had clues written, lines drawn, erasures, and it wasn’t a pretty site. And still Ms. Turner’s perpetrator eluded me! Bravo!! All the while, there is some serious character growth going on!! Double bravo!! I received a copy of the book from the author, plus I bought an ecopy. No positive review was required, and all opinions are my own.
Notable Quotables:
“He didn’t know which was worse—facing the Diglo brothers or the wrath of Chief Justice Olivia Ash.”
“Peace washed over her. She knew its source. Her Father. Her life was in His hands.”
“Sometimes God allows us to enter the wilderness to shape us. Mold us.”
The story of botanist Keeley Ash captured me from the first page. I was absolutely fascinated with the research and what Keeley was doing with plants in order to track down a killer! Unfortunately, her efforts do not go unnoticed by the perps so her life is endangered, along with that of her mom and her young son. When Brett Ryerson, a paramedic and a former law enforcement agent, comes on the scene, the action ramped up considerably. Brett is determined to protect Keeley and she is equally determined to find out why the plants she observed at a death scene are so important to someone. Judge Olivia Ash is not a very likable character at first because she is very critical of Keeley and not very understanding about her life’s choices. But as the book progressed, I began to understand her better. All of the characters are very dynamic, changing and growing as I got deeper into the story, but I think Olivia’s change was the most evident and most appreciated, at least by me. I enjoyed the fast pace of the story that had me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next attack to occur from some very unexpected places. I enjoyed the interactions between Keeley and Brett and their son (a son he didn’t previously know he had) and the way that Brett is willing to endanger himself to keep Keeley safe. There are a lot of twists, red herrings and plenty of possible suspects, so this book kept me guessing until the big reveal at the end. This is a wild ride in the wilderness with information about plants that intrigued and astounded me. With impeccable research, the author has written a story that is as compelling as it is informative and entertaining. I enjoyed Brett and Keely's story immensely. The entire book had me wondering what was going to happen next. I adored little MJ too. From start to finish I felt like I was on the edge of my seat and filled with anxiousness to find out who the killers really were and who the person was that was behind it all. Imagine my shock when it was finally revealed since the book hinted that it could have been one of several people so when it was revealed I was definitely shocked to say the least. This was definitely an excellent read and I recommend it to anyone who loves Romantic Suspense and the Crisis Rescue Team books.
Once again, Darlene L Turner knocks it out of the park with a grand slam! I loved the glimpse into the world of forensic botany. I had never heard of it before. Both Keely and Brett were dealing with deep emotions from circumstances in their lives. This book reminds us that God is willing to forgive us of every sin we have committed or will commit when we surrender our lives to Him through Jesus therefore we need to be willing to forgive even deep hurts. Sometimes we have to ask Him to help us forgive. The characters were human and felt real. MJ was precious! I received this book in return for an honest review. It was a joy to read and hard to put down. As proof, I just finished it at 3:15am! I have read many of her books and look forward to reading more!

Loved Keeley and Brett's story!! Keeley and Brett met in college and dated. When Brett got a job as a constable, he told Keeley that they had to break up. When Keeley found out she was pregnant, she tried to find Brett, but she thought his name was Mickey, and couldn't find him. Now, they meet again when she's hurt and he's one of the paramedics that shows up to help. Brett wonders why ever left her, and now wonders if they can even be friends. When Keeley tells him he has a son, at first he doesn't believe her, but when he meets MJ, he figures out that, yes, this is his son. The more time he spends with them, the more he falls for both of them. He wants them to become a family, but does Keeley want the same? When trouble keeps following them, and Brett realizes all of them may lose their lives, he realizes what he needs most of all is to ask forgiveness, as he's strayed far from what he knew as a boy. When he does, everything else falls into place. Such a great book and I love how Brett realizes the truth before it's too late!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
Darlene L Turner weaves an exceptional tale in her latest book, "Yukon Wilderness Evidence". It has the perfect amount of action and suspense. One of the standout features is the introduction of Keeley and Brett's son, MJ, who quickly becomes a character readers will adore. His addition to the story adds depth and emotional resonance, enriching the narrative and providing moments of tenderness amidst the thrilling action. MJ's character exemplifies Turner's skill in creating multidimensional characters who contribute significantly to the story's appeal.
"Yukon Wilderness Evidence" is highly recommended for those who love a well-executed mystery that keeps you guessing until the very end.
My thanks to the author/publisher for the ARC of this book. I was under no obligation to provide a review, and the thoughts contained herein are my own.
This latest from Darlene L. Turner continues her awesome storytelling. This is a great story that will keep you glued until the back cover. I received an advanced reader copy from the author. Opinions are my own.
I am a fan of books by this author and this book does not disappoint. The suspense starts within the first chapter. The puzzle of who the criminals are in this book was definitely a hard one for me to crack which made the book more interesting. I never correctly guessed the culprits before it was told to me. It had some really good twists and turns in this novel. I would recommend to anymore.
I received a complimentary copy from the author. The opinions in this review are my own.
When bones are found in the Yukon forest, Keely Ash is called to retrieve and identify them. Her lab is destroyed and her son is kidnapped. Follow her and Brett Ryerson as they find the persons responsible. Highly recommend this book.
Another winner from master suspense writer Darlene Turner! This fifth book in the Crisis Rescue Team series is packed with action, surprise twists, and edge of your seat suspense! I was hooked from the beginning and immersed in the story to the very end. Suspects abound, and every time Keeley and Brett think they have found a safe haven, they are discovered and face greater danger! The “bad guys” always seem to be a step ahead of them! I love the main characters Keeley Brett, and MJ. The rest of the well-crafted, multi-dimensional characters add depth and play a big part in moving the plot forward. The addition of sweet second-chance romance, a beautifully sketched Yukon wilderness setting, fascinating use of forensic botany, and relevant faith lessons in forgiveness rounds out a wonderfully inspiring, absorbing, and satisfying read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it and the series. Note: Although part of a series, this book can easily be read as a standalone. I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher with no obligation to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
