I am LOVING this series! 🌟 I started book 1 three days ago, and I’ve been hooked ever since. The journey with these characters has been incredible, and this book wraps up the series so beautifully.

Seeing Giles pop up in this book was such a treat! His character arc has been amazing – from his not-so-nice actions in book 1 to a full redemption here. It made me love him even more. And baby Hope? She was absolutely adorable and added so much cuteness to the story.

Overall, this was a really nice read, and the ending left me with the biggest smile. I adore these characters so much, and saying goodbye is tough – at least until the next book comes out!

Happy reading! 📚😊

I loved this book and I love this series; it just goes from strength to strength. I could not get enough of Holly’s next tale and I actually had goosebumps on my arms after I had finished reading it.

Just three weeks have passed since Holly’s return from the South of France, and this time Jamie’s wedding is pending. Holly is coming to terms with her new relationship, her new home and life with Hope. I was a bit sceptical after the perfect Evan was introduced in the last book, fearing that Lynn would be “doing a number” on her readers by turning him into a slime bag. Thankfully, this is not the case! This book sees Holly continue to navigate her business around co-parenting with Ben and I really liked seeing how these parents have settled as being friends whilst both exploring new romantic connections.

Jamie’s wedding does not dominate the book – after all, this series is all about our lovable sweet shop owner. Instead, we watch Holly’s mishaps as she adjusts with Evan being here, there and everywhere. I loved how the writer brings back some familiar characters, particularly Maud, adding a certain cyclical moment to the entire series. On the other hand, I am still burning with curiosity about where Giles fits in with Holly’s life – I think she is as well! – and I cannot believe he has turned into such a good character after his initial encounters with Holly.

From the perfect setting of the Cotswolds to the sugary sweet shop, this book has everything you could want for some light escape fiction. I flew through this story – thanks to the very short chapters – and just wanted to lap up everything that was happening to Holly. From the cute cuddles with her little girl (that brought back some very precious memories) to strolling through the countryside with Evan, this book had me smiling throughout. I especially loved the house that was described in the nearby village and really hope this doesn’t completely disappear off of the horizon because it sounded so idyllic!

With a Christmas instalment coming soon to this series, I can’t wait to see what is in store next. This has become a lovely series that I have grown to look forward to reading and I am really pleased to say that each of the books are as unique as the last one, making this even more enjoyable to read.

With thanks to Boldwood books and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Author Hannah Lynn writes with love. In A Summer Wedding at the Second Chances Sweet Shop, the titular shop proprietor Holly Berry is busy managing her business and helping her friends, Jamie and Finn, put the finishing touches on their perfect wedding. Right off, with visions of a big ceremony and candy on the menu, warm feelings of love practically seeps off the page. From these first moments, there's a joyous effect that Lynn never quite lets go away.

Still, not everything is all champagne and confetti. When her ususally long-distance boyfriend, Evan, jets into town, Holly becomes apprehensive about showing him off to her family. Everything has to be perfect, and it's this type of nervous energy that propels Holly through much of the story. To be fair, Lynn provides plenty for Holly to be nervous about. While Holly and her ex-husband are on good terms as they co-parent their daughter together, the last thing she wants is for him and his partner to be invited to Evan's first meeting with the family—so of course that's exactly what her mother does.

Holly's reaction to this, as well as so many other moments in the book, provides ample tension. Yet Lynn writes with such positivity that these bits are often quickly smoothed over. The new boyfriend and the ex become downright friendly with each other, which is unsurprising considering Evan is affable to the point of being swoon-worthy. With a lesser writer, the ease with which some problems are moved past might cause the story to fizzle out. That's not the case here at all. Lynn writes with such a sweetness that feels real without ever teetering into saccharine territory. The result is an almost slice-of-life peek into the developing love story of Holly and Evan. It's a careful balancing act and Lynn nails it.

That's not to suggest there aren't bigger problems, and even Lynn's obvious love for these characters doesn't save all of them from serious heartbreak. And because of the brightness she uses throughout the book, it causes these moments to hit all the harder. While it works entirely on its own, this is the sixth book in the series, and knowledge of previous titles will also deepen the impact of some of these revelations. Either way: my advice? Keep some tissues handy.

Because, at its rich center, A Summer Wedding at the Second Chances Sweet Shop is a celebration of love. New love, old love, and all love in-between. Love of family. Love of friends. Love of a remarkable past and an even brighter future. Perhaps most fittingly, love of chocolate and all other sorts of delectable treats.

Love is abundant on every page of this book. What's more charming than that?

Note: I received a free ARC of this book from the publisher.

Though I've only read two books in this series. I already feel as though the characters are friends. I just finished the first in this series yesterday and now here I've just finished the sixth book. After finishing this I can see I have some catching up to do with the characters as so much has happened between books. I am really enjoying this series so much. Each book has so many of the same characters in them, so you know right where you are with the characters and what to expect. Holly is still running her sweet shop she bought from longtime owner Maud. Previously Holly had been running herself ragged running the shop herself seven days a week. She's still running the shop but has accepted help from family and friends at times, so she'll have more time for other important things. The book is so realistic it just makes me smile. Holly now has a beautiful baby daughter from one of her previous relationships, but they are not together now. The ups and downs continue with the relationship she has with her parents. They are having trouble accepting she is making her own choices in life and think they know what's best for her still.
She's so excited a special friend of hers is getting married but when a big snag develops in their wedding plans will things be able to come together in time?
Sweet and charming. I love the characters and recommend the whole series. A magical book that'll have you experiencing all the emotions and leave you with a smile.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.

Ahhhh I've loved everything about this book and this series.

Holly has been on a journey from the start of this series and this book rounded everything off nicely. It was the perfect icing on the cake.

Hannah Lynn has become an instant read author for me and I've loved this series and the Wildflower Lock series and I can't wait to see what comes next.

Such an easy read! Although, book 6 in a series is probably not the best place to start! But, that being said, it was easy to know who all the characters were, and Holly was a perfect FMC, a predictable read, perfect for a few sunny days!

Oh please tell me there will be more!!!! I’m not ready for Holly's story to be done. I’ve absolutely fallen in love with this series from the first page of book 1 until now.

All leading up to Jamie's and Finn's big day, it’s not without tribulations and fear! Vespa for one!

But I love Holly and just find her so endearing, even when she was at odds with her mum for secrets. Oh, and Maud is back!!

More Evan this time and he’s an interesting addition to the book. I love his and Holly’s story, but they need more and it will be interesting to see what happens next with them.

As with the others, this was so addictive like sweets. I read this one so I did miss listening to Holly’s voice but equally, I am glad I read it so I could get it done at my pace and really savour it. I really do want more Holly as I love the series. It is such a happy go-to place, well as long as you avoid any altercation at the pond with the ducks.

It's just adorable and cute and I will give any of my sweets up to get the next book now!!!

Book Review: A Summer Wedding at Second Chances Sweet Shop. Book Six in the Series
Stars: 3 X 5
Author: Hannah Lynne
Publisher: Boldwood Book
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

Holly is a single mom to Hope. She moves to this small town Cotswold and she owns a sweet shop. Holly is helping her friends Fin and Jamie plan their wedding. I liked Holly and Hope but when I originally requested this book I thought it was going to be more about the wedding. This did not happen. This was more about Holly and not much about the wedding.. The story of Holly was sweet but I just needed more from this book.

A Summer Wedding at the Second Chances Sweet Shop by Hannah Lynn

I received an advance review copy for free thanks to Rachel's Random Resources and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Blurb

Also known as A Summer Wedding at the Cotswolds Candy Store

Going to the chapel, but will they get married?

After the holiday romance to beat all other holiday romances, it’s back to regular life for Holly Berry, and the sweet shop is busier than ever. With Jamie and Fin’s wedding coming up, Holly is rushed off her feet, making sure their big day is perfect.

So when her handsome boyfriend comes to visit, she is both elated to see him and overwhelmed. She wants to show Evan all the things she loves about her village, as well as introducing him to baby Hope, but how can she find the time?!

Evan offers to lend a helping hand in the shop, and as he gets to know the locals, this loud and proud American certainly makes an impression. But Holly knows she can’t get used to this – because it won’t be long until he has to go home.

Can she make the most of the summer, with everyone she loves finally in the same place, or will she let the hectic wedding planning get the better of her?

My Opinion

Whilst I haven't read all of the books in this series, I have to say that I really enjoy coming back to spend time with Holly Berry ad her friends, they are just so welcoming. This book will leave you with a warm and cosy feeling. This is such a sweet and heart-warming read, that was such a joy to read and a great distraction. In fact now I want my own sweet shop.

For me Hannah Lynn is one of those authors that I enjoy more with every book and I am eagerly waiting to see what the next release will be.

A Summer Wedding at the Second Chances Sweet Shop by Hannah Lynn is book 6 in the series. Holly and Hope have moved into a small cottage in town. Holly and Ben have made the perfect schedule for Hope. Every thing is falling into place. Even Evan is fitting into her life perfectly. Now Holly is just trying to help plan Jamie and Fin's wedding and manage the sweet shop.
This was the sweetest book. But if the focus of the book was supposed to be the wedding, it wasn't. This was all about Holly. Jamie and Fin's wedding wasn't even a secondary storyline. I liked reading about Holly but some chapters I felt were just rambling about Holly's day to day living. Nothing really happening. I was entertained and enjoyed reading this story but the book and the description didn't really match in my opinion. This is the first book I have read by Hannah Lynn so I didn't read books 1-5 in this series. I don't really feel like I missed anything in the previous books that would prevent me from understanding the story. I did enjoy the story and would definitely read other works by Hannah Lynn. This was in the very cute, Hallmark-like story line. I would recommend this to others. Special thanks to NetGalley, Hannah Lynn, and Boldwood Books for the advanced digital copy in exchange for my honest opinion. 3.5 stars for me.

Holly Berry has just returned from a holiday where she’s met her new boyfriend, but there’s more on her mind than that. Her sweet shop is busy and she’s helping to prepare for the wedding of her friends Jamie and Finn, not to mention parenting her nine-month-old daughter.

As her father’s sixtieth birthday gathering looms, she’s nervous to introduce Evan to her parents and to Hope. He even spends the day in the sweet shop with her and gets to see what her daily routine is. Holly likes the idea of having him there but knows she can’t get used to it as he travels a great deal for work.

Will summer be everything Holly hopes it will be or will it have more challenges than anticipated?

I really enjoyed this novel and how the characters interact with one another.

Holly is still trying to come to terms with being swept off her feet on her recent holiday abroad and wondering if things will be the same with Evan when he comes to stay in the village. She has a habit of compartmentalising her life and letting him into her home life is quite a big step. Family and friendships are as important as ever, but there are a few surprises waiting for her.

Holly zipping about the countryside on her Vespa sums up the mood of this romcom and there are plenty of entertaining moments. However, there are the odd sadder moments but Holly always tries to put a positive spin on events. With wedding plans going off plan, there are a few surprises showing you can't take everyone at face value. This is a fun series with a good range of characters and plenty of action to keep the momentum going.

In short: love and laughter
Thanks to the author for a copy of the book

I was so excited to read this as I love Hannah’s books and writing, I’ve read most (if not possibly all) of her previous books and so I was pretty much certain I would love it and I wasn’t wrong. I have really enjoyed the sweet shop series since the very first book, could be something to do with the child in me (and most of us with a sweet tooth) wanting to run a sweet shop, but I just love these books.

I loved Holly and have enjoyed her story throughout these books, I love going on all these characters journeys with them throughout the course of their stories. I am so fond of all of them, the community and friendships held in these pages, they are a comfort and a delight to read.

Hannah always manages to fill her stories with sweet and loveable characters, great stories, full of heart, hope and happiness, this book is no exception and as always I’m eager for what she will write next.

I enjoyed the previous book in this series and was glad to see this next one joining the story. There is that feeling of community that I love, although there is some mention of the downside, but overall this is the type of book to give you a warm fuzzy feeling. Holly again is a wonderful mother, Evan sounds to be a great guy, although maybe a little too good to be true, but if we can't have characters like that we wouldn't have stories like this. There were some sadder moments, but counterbalanced by some more uplifting ones where characters unexpectedly came up trumps. A lovely cozy romance to spend a few hours escaping from everyday life in.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book.

I adore this series, it just goes from strength to strength with each book. Can you believe this is the sixth in this delightful series already?

I've been emotionally invested in Holly and her story right from the very beginning when the sweetshop was just a pipe dream. She's such a lovely character and I don't want her story to end, she feels more of a friend now, rather than just a name in a book.

She's so lucky, I would absolutely love to own my own sweetshop, and as an extra bonus its set in the Cotswolds...perfect!

ASWATSCS is a sweet romance read, it has a brilliant cast of likeable characters and a fantastic sense of community spirit.

An enjoyable, heartwarming read that's hot on romance, relationships and sweets, obviously.

4*

I’ve loved following along with Holly and her adventures in the sweet shop. This time, she finds a holiday romance to be a little bit more than that. While I’m already being so invested in this story, it’s been lovely to finally see Holly getting her happy end. What I also appreciated was the little nods to past books, you could easily read this book on itself and would get small catch-ups to be informed enough about things, but as someone who has read the entire series, it wasn’t annoying at all, which is not always the case. Great job on balancing that out!

Thanks NetGalley and Boldwood Books for giving me an ARC to read in return for an honest review.

I was thankful the publisher reached out to me to review this book. This is a great installment to the series, really bringing the other installments together and coming full circle with the characters and plotline. This book jived really well with the existing story. This author does a really great job of mixing sweet romance, inviting characters, and fun locations as an integral part of her writing. It's such a feel good story!

This is the sixth instalment of this lovely series that has you laughing out loud one moment and heartbroken the next. The writer writes in such a way you can feel like you are in the situations with the characters and living them for them.

A story of love friendship co parenting and life’s ups and downs with relatable and realistic characters set against the backdrop of a beautiful sounding Cotswolds village.

I hope there is going to be another instalment of this fix to see how Holly and her relationship with Evan evolves.

I loved catching up with Holly and Hope and the gang.
Evan was so dreamy and lovely and the relationships between Holly and Ben are refreshing and a dream.
It was lovely that Maud came back to see the progress of the shop and make more memories for them.

I have read all the other books in this series and fell in love with Holly. This book did not disappoint and was a great continuation of Holly’s story. I truly consider this a comfort book series and the only downfall for me is that I finished it too quickly. I hope this is not the last book in the series. I want to see more from these characters. Holly Berry owns a sweet shop in an idyllic Cotswold village. This is part of a series of which I have read a few but not all, but this did not matter.
Holly is now co parenting with her ex Ben and working out how their new partners fit into their new lives. As well as this the long awaited wedding of their friends Jamie and Finn is on the horizon.
But all is not going smoothly.
This series is about friendship and love and this story takes our characters further on. A lovely tale.

I jumped into this book series on Book 6 but despite the occasional throwback to previous books it did not deter me.

A Summer Wedding at the Second Chances Sweet Shop is everything that you will probably expect it to be; charming, fun, easy to read and a well paced story. What's not to like?!

I will read more from Hannah Lynn without a doubt.

Holly is a single mum but with an American boyfriend who travels a lot. Holly works and owns a sweet shop in the Cotswolds and had an amazing bunch of friends and family. The book follows Holly as
She negotiates an accident , betrayal and love. Not altogether cheesy but the author keeps you guessing if the girl get her man?

the worst book in the series, nothing new was really added to the story and it felt more like "this is a whole book about the child, and then 2 pages of the wedding"

It did not make me feel anything really and the dialog was under stimulating.

Will give it an extra * because it was a feel good moment...
